Typically eat breakfast here but also have had 3-4 lunches. It's always been good at either. Breakfast is always made to order, usually try to sit in Stephanie section, I'm sure other waitstaff is good; Stephanie is a fantastic waitress.....I'd come here just so she could wait on us..... All staff members are good and welcoming....Tim is u read these, whoever is in charge of personnel is on top of it.......
Absolutely delightful decor. Super friendly staff. The food was outstanding, and there was lots of it. We will definitely be back here! (Oh, and the banana pudding was unlike any I have ever had anywhere else. It amazes me that it was free with the meal.)
We are passing through on our way to Galveston. Pulled into this place about 8 minutes before they opened. By 6:30 the parking lot was full. Walked I. And was greeted like we were family. The waitress was amazing. We ordered the chicken fry steak (highly recommend) and the breakfast tacos (also very good). The food came out within a few minutes and was hot. I’d give this place a 10/10 for cleanliness, friendliness and great food! Best place to eat in Amarillo!
Awesome service! Saturday morning for breakfast is always busy, and the crowd was definitely coming in! The service was great. The food was over the top good. If you haven't been here, I highly recommend you go & soon!
This is quite a delightful little place! Food was pretty good--pancakes the size of your face, and the bacon was actually long strips instead of those short strips you would normally see. Waitress was friendly, and other employees around the dining area were also friendly and helpful. The only thing that might be a concern was that it looked like there were sugar ants. Not a lot of them, just a few here and there. Not enough to be a problem. Overall, I really enjoyed this place and likely would return.
Great service, great people, delicious food. Loved it and can't wait to come back the next time I visit Amarillo!
Great food, great staff. Specials are always good. One more thing, these are some great soup making cooks. I can't wait to see what the soup of the day is, it's always tasty
Their cobbler and banana pudding( free with eat in, ) are truly the best around!!!! Burger was yummy. So was fried catfish!!! Home cooking at it's best!!!
We had an amazing experience at Youngblood’s in Amarillo thanks to Keli! She was so sweet, friendly, and genuinely caring from start to finish. Keli was incredibly attentive — always checking on us at just the right moments. Her positive attitude and warm personality made our visit memorable. It’s clear she truly cares about making sure guests have a great time. Thank you, Keli! We’ll definitely be coming back.
Best breakfast in town. Good prices, excellent food & fantastic service. They ALWAYS keep your coffee full no matter how busy they are. I went on Friday @ 7:30 am & they were packed. I was seated, ordered & ate, paid & gone in under 30 minutes. Wow!!!
Great food and great friendly staff
Family friendly, good food and our server was great with keeping up with us even though it was a little busy. Definitely recommend! They also have a cute store in there!
Enjoyed breakfast with family at this place. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as we had a large group of 18 or so. The food was EXCELLENT and reasonably priced considering the large portions. I had the Vickie’s Breakfast Burrito which was generously portioned and delicious! I’d highly recommend this place for breakfast or brunch.
If you always want your coffee hot and your cup never empty, this is the spot. The waitresses are always watching you and always have that big Texas smile! I was hoping for something unusual like gluten free pancake or waffle and maybe a big bowl of fresh fruit! Maybe next time! It seems the police department like it here, too. They were thick. We felt so safe!!!!
Great experience, Keli was our waitress, and she did awesome! Got to know our son a little. Everyone was so nice and friendly. We came for the Friday special, bacon wrapped meatloaf, and it was delicious. Good hearty portion and great flavor. My wife had a baked potato, and we ended the meal with banana pudding! We would definitely go back.
Found this local GEM while traveling through town! This adorable Diner is clearly a community favorite, with lots of space to accommodate. The food tastes homemade and the prices are great! Our server, Heather, was friendly and quick. The atmosphere was welcoming and, for the out-of-towner, gave a quick glimpse into the conservative Amarillo culture. A kind 91 year old man even struck up conversation with me on his way out. It’s places just like this that make me love my Texas. ❤️☺️
Absolutely the most amazing experience we've ever had at a restaurant! The owner came out and prayed over our table (not in a weird way😜... We welcomed it!). Our waitress was top notch and everyone was very nice. The food was also amazing!
Loved the place and the food was absolutely great. Love Texas from Norway🫡
It's home cooking at it's best. We always enjoy ourselves.
Good service good food great prices.
Great local place filled with local people. The servers seemed to know most patrons by first names. There were even "senior" specials that were sizeable and VERY yummy. Use your GPS to find them, though. They are in a great little neighborhood of period houses.
Best pancakes and breakfast burrito we’ve ever had. The hatch green chili sauce was to die for! My family stopped here on the way through town, even though the parking lot was packed with cars, we went in anyway thinking “this must be good.” We didn’t even wait 5 minutes! Service was great and we were in and out, back on the road, in less than 30mins. We will be back!!
Great food courteous staff great service
Amazing cheeseburgers, fabulous ranch and wonderful service. One of our favs in Amarillo.
Y'all the food here is amazing. I came in during the lunch hour and ordered breakfast. The bacon was crispy, the hash browns were perfect, the eggs were good. So I normally dont eat grits but I gave it a shot.....they were amazing as well. I'm from Houston so for this small city of Amarillo to have the gem, I am impressed!! Will definitely be coming back when I come back into town.
Best old fashioned breakfast, best chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy like my grandma's, best customer service. Fantastic!
This is a nice place with great food. The parking lot was packed but we were seated within a minute. Jill is amazing.
Super friendly and helpful staff. The food was great. The pancakes were the best we've had anywhere!
Amazing staff, and amazing food. I stopped for lunch passing through town with my family. They had a great staff and good food.
Had the pork chop special today and it was great. Wait staff was so attentive even during the crazy lunch rush. Free banana pudding for dessert was the cherry on top.
People need to eat here not the big chains in town! I have lived here a year now and getting ready to move again so sad I just now found you! Best damn service and food in town!
I love this place. It's a go to lunch spot with great prices.
The best breakfast I've had since 1998. Just like Mom's. Friendly host made me feel right at home when I walked in. The service was GREAT..! I had eggs, hash browns, biscuits & gravy, cooked to perfection. Extra gravy, no problem..! I love This Place...! If I lived in Amarillo I'd be here every morning. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Believe I’ve found my regular breakfast spot when passing through Amarillo every now and then. My cup of oatmeal was creamy with a nice touch of brown sugar on the side. The Vicki’s Breakfast Burrito with sausage was delicious and huge. Service was quick and very friendly. Thank you, Janet. Your warm smile was a nice way to start the day.
We were looking for a cafe style eating place, and this came up. One of us from Arlington TX , me from Hobbs NM. Going to the address was kinda of something not expected , but it was very interesting that it was packed around parking area. So, we decided to try. Met the owner she was very friendly, happy lady. Atmosphere great! Food was excellent. I cook a lot so I know good food and a good cook. Thank you until next time.
Kind of hidden away, if you’re not from Amarillo, Google Maps got me there!!! ALL of the staff were friendly, my waitress, Corey, was so nice and took time to talk to me about the menu and what some of the cute names of items were, she told me about the specials for the day, bacon wrapped meatloaf or tingas!!!! Never heard of Tingas, they’re the BEST!!!!! This experience turned a not so good day into a great day!! The atmosphere was great, great food, great service they put a smile on my face and in my heart!!!!!! Thank you Youngblood’s!!!!
Quality comfort meals, affordable, and our kids plate was as large as ours.
Youngbloods Café in Amarillo is an absolute gem! In our four years of full-time RV travel, we’ve stopped here every single time we go through Amarillo. The café has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly friendly. We love that we can park our 43-foot RV across the street in a church parking lot—it makes visiting so easy. The owner has been there every time we’ve come, and he is amazing, genuinely friendly, and makes you feel like part of the family. This place isn’t just a stop for a meal; it’s a highlight of our travels through Amarillo. We can’t recommend it enough!
Had breakfast today and it was absolutely delicious!! Can’t wait to go have lunch and supper! Best waitress ever!! Dang wish I could remember her name. Very very clean!!! Servings like grandma was trying to feed you!
Their food is sooo good! Very friendly staff and inexpensive as well. Def recommend.
Stayed in Amarillo on our way home to Colorado Springs, decided to grab a quick breakfast before leaving town. Youngblood's was one of the many breakfast places in town, but looked the most like a mom and pop restaurant. It definitely was! Service was INCREDIBLE. I can't say this strongly enough. Down to earth, kind and attentive servers, treated us like locals. Coffee was never more than halfway empty and was asked if we needed anything at least a half dozen times. Wonderful! The food....so good!! I got a Kickin' omlette with biscuits/gravy and my better half got a plate of eggs with sausage. The depth of flavor in my omlette was amazing. Biscuits weren't massive or dry like other breakfast places, perfect size. Gravy was savory and not salty. Wife loved her eggs too. Very happy with the food. Was also a store at the front with some neat items including license plate decor, spices and small gifts. Restaurant was super clean and cowboy/western themed. Loved it. Food was inexpensive too! 10 bucks for an omlette? Unheard of! Next time we're in Amarillo, we're having breakfast at Youngbloods!
This place is amazing! I had lunch there. The food and service was awesome! It definitely has a fun cafe vibe.
If you want to Texas atmosphere this is definitely the place! The combo breakfast burrito is Texas sized! pure delicious in every bite!!!
Great Chicken fried steak. We were in town for Thanksgiving week and wanted some good Texas comfort food. Youngblood's was great. Service was quick and very friendly. We will return again.
The staff at Youngbloods is always so friendly and welcoming. The food, is great, and comforting. A great little Cafe, that you'll definitely enjoy and come back for more.
Oh Boy!! My wife and I have been around Amarillo for over 10 years; no one has ever mentioned this place. 😦😱 Everything here looks homemade with love ❤️. Real at your grandma's house feel, you know. Everyone super friendly, like family. My wife had the special green chili stew, may I say..... "Stop the train!" As Guy Fieri might say, "We're at flavor town!" I'm not a heat guy, this green chili stew had chicken, potatoe, tomatoes, green chili, and rice. You could feel the heat; but a lightweight like me could enjoy the sweet green chili flavor. Really, I had to eat some of hers after I devoured mine. lol 😉 I had the green chili chicken fried steak. Hand breaded and skillet/grill fried, not deep fried, almost inch thick! We tasted the green chili before we ordered, hence why we ordered what we did. It really was one of the best dishes I've eaten in a while. They are am American diner, of which are becoming extinct in our day, with unprecedented homemade dishes. Banana pudding was for dessert, complimentary only during lunch while they last. Soooo, show up early for lunch! Also made from scratch. Delicious! 😋 This is our first time here; will definitely not be our last. Probably going to be a regular stop when we're in town. We live about 70 miles away; but come to town when we're home. So surprised. Completely satisfied! Please visit this place when you're in Amarillo, TX. The process here are very reasonable and won't break the bank. I know you'll be as impressed as I, if ya'll got a little country in ya.
Wow! What a hidden gem! Had never been here before but will most definitely be back! And hopefully on Green Chili stew day. So delicious. Just a tad kick in spice but man what flavor it has. My husband had the green chili chicken fried steak and absolutely loved it! You have to check this place out!
My fave restaurant when visiting Amarillo- the home cooking tastes like Memaw is in the kitchen. The waitresses are all fabulous with southern hospitality. The decor is vintage Texas! I always stop at Youngbloods when I'm in town.
Was invited out for Breakfast here and it was great. I knew there lunch was good but there Breakfast was great. 3 bacon, 2 egg, hash browns, 2 biscuits, gravy and coffee less than 10 bucks for seniors. They were really busy but the service was still good.
This was a great place to eat. We were greeted by smiling friendly staff. We were seated right away and we didn't have to wait much to take our order. The food came in a reasonable amount of time. The food was and tasty. All in all a great experience.
The portions were large! The pancakes literally filled the plate. Our waitress was very sweet and made sure we had everything we needed right away. There was light chatter throughout the place, and it had a retro vibe. The gift shop was neat and had all kinds of odds and ends. We needed to split our ticket 3 ways, and the cashier handled that very quickly and efficiently. The food itself was excellent. Our table got a Combo Burrito, eggs and pork chops, eggs and bacon, and a veggie omelet. The burrito was absolutely huge, and filled to the brim. The omelet was so big it looked round instead of somewhat flat, and the pork chops were still tender and perfectly seasoned. The bacon was crispy and my sister was very happy with the fresh cream for the coffee as well. The pricing is competitive with most other breakfast places, running from $10 - 20, depending on the kind of meat you choose.
Youngblood's was a real gem! Absolutely wonderful staff who were incredibly welcoming. They made me feel right at home. I had the meatloaf lunch special. It was country style with incredibly generous portions. Delicious food, and for a really fair price. Even included a banana pudding dessert at no extra cost! Would definitely go back there again if ever in Amarillo.
Wonderful place! Demonstrates all the things I love about Texas—delicious food, ample servings, welcoming atmosphere and southern hospitality. Senior Citizen specials make it affordable as well. Hats off to Stephanie our server who filled our coffee travel
This place was such a good find. We did our usual and looked up good, local diners and this didn't disappoint. From the outside you really can't tell where all the people from the cars in the carpark are going to fit, once inside you'll soon see. Such a big place, plenty of room and tables to fill. The service right from when we walked in to being served to walking out was excellent. The food was exactly what you'd expect from a diner and it was good. I just love stumbling across a good find like this, if you are in the area, give them a visit.
Just a great place for good food. Traveling through Amarillo, I did my usual search for local restaurants. This fit the bill perfectly and was packed. That's a great sign. Happy greeting, sat myself. Coffee was quickly brought and I ordered Chicken Fried steak, eggs and a biscuit. Can't have enough gravy.... It was fabulous. Obviously care is taken and the cooks enjoy feeding folks. A bit out of the way, but that makes it local!
Really great find, diner in Amarillo. It's like De Who's TARDIS, from the outside it looked like a nice petite venue, once you get in oh my goodness it's huge. The service was exceptional, the food amazing and the front of house ladies were really lovely. I would highly recommend it if in the Amarillo area or just passing through.
Great local diner with one of the best CFSs I've ever had (and that covers a lot of territory). The staff are really nice and efficient. They seem to enjoy their jobs, and that makes the whole dining experience that much more pleasant. There are better known restaurants in Amarillo, but Youngblood's is my pick for both food and service.
Really good prices, really fast service, large portions, tasty food, and free dessert. You cannot go wrong eating here. We checked out Youngblood’s Cafe because it was mentioned by Texas blogger the Day Tripper, who travels all over Texas in search of hidden gems. I have to say this place lived up to the hype. We were all pleased by the service and food. Walking into Youngblood’s Cafe makes you feel as if you’ve stepped into a true Texan eatery. Kitschy Texas decor is everywhere and you know a restaurant is good when the place is packed. We arrived around lunch, we were seated right away, and the food arrived almost immediately after we placed our order. I had the Cajun style grilled catfish and I was happy with the level of heat and flavor. My meal came with a choice of soup or salad and I opted for the soup of the day - Navy bean soup, which was delicious! Other dishes ordered were the chicken fried chicken and Vicki’s Chicken Fried Steak. I have to say, I was curious about tasting Vicki’s Chicken fried steak because green chili sauce + gravy sounded strange (never had chicken fried steak this way before) and I was really surprised how wonderful it tasted. I would definitely recommend this dish! And finally, as we were finishing up our meal, a server carrying a huge platter of banana pudding dishes swung by our table and asked us if we wanted dessert. Overall, this restaurant was a huge hit with all of us and if I’m ever in Amarillo again I’m planning on stopping in for another delicious meal.

Breakfast burrito was fantastic! The 2 egg breakfast with biscuit/gracy, hash browns was okay. Burrito was tasty, eggs were moist and it was a large portion for the price.

I was invited to this establishment for breakfast. With the large amounts of people being served, it gave the impression that it’s a popular local restaurant. I’m providing my opinion primarily in the service and food. I will lightly touch on the atmosphere. The servers at this restaurant provided outstanding service. They went out of their way to ensure a positive experience. As for the food, I ordered the Senior breakfast. It consisted of “Two Eggs the way you like um, Hashbrowns, and your choice of Toast, Biscuits, and Gravy or one Pancake, Served with Bacon or Sausage Patty.” I requested my eggs over medium, hashbrowns, sausage, and white toast. My eggs came closer to over-hard; the hashbrowns were cold and kind of chewy; the sausage patties were cold; the toast was good. With respect to the delivery of the food, I was under-impressed. The atmosphere was comfy and down home.
I Ordered the guevos ranchero. The food was tasty, but not that hot. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Coffee was very good and hot. Our servers were very friendly and prompt. However when we were trying to purchase some souvenirs from their gift shop. We were ignored and skipped over for another customer who was there after us. And when I replied that were next, I was ignored. Very rude.
This is a very popular place for locals, and my wife enjoys the food. The service is really good, but I think the food is just ok.
My wife and I have eaten breakfast here before, and the food was nothing special. This time, it was one of our best food experiences in Amarillo. Don't know if they have new cooks or the stars were lined up perfect, but we will be back. Only thing I didn't like was that there were six of us and they didn't want to split up the bill. That takes longer to leave because the cashier has to separate the bills.
Like a Tardis, this place is bigger on the inside and your eyes will be bigger than your stomach reviewing the menu. Boasting a great selection of home-cooked goodness including breakfast served all day, chicken fried steak, and burgers. I chose the green chile and cheese omelette, but you can satisfy your green chile cravings with Youngblood’s signature huevos rancheros, too. Pro-tip: while breakfast is served till closing, pancakes and burritos are only available till 11:00 AM, so be sure not to miss them!
First timer. Very very large facility with many tables. 99% of all entrees under $10.00. $1.00 extra for breakfast after 11:am. 20% added to 8 or more. No pancakes, breakfast tacos or burritos after 11:am. Coffee $2.25 - senior coffee $1.00. Guest WiFi very good. Staff very friendly. Check out new menus. It doesn’t seem to be posted but add 4% to credit card payments. Bathrooms large and dated. More than one bathroom. I would definitely come back when I’m town. New as of SEP 2024: Senior Coffee up to $1.25 New Up to date photos Check current prices.
Nice place for breakfast. We both had breakfast burritos and loved them. The coffee could be a bit stronger. We didn’t like that the staff didn’t wear masks during COVID after the masks were mandatory in public places! Place was quite dirty. Giving 4 starts just for the food - good taste and cheap as well!
The food and service were excellent. Its a lot of food, i promise you wont leave hungry. Prices were right aswell.
Great diner experience! Consistently good food and service with a smile. Fun to look at all the trinkets, too! Definitely recommend!
I should have read reviews before ordering. Hubby's omelette, grits and biscuits and gravy were good. Eggs and sausage were just eggs & sausage, nothing fancy.
Stephanie was my waitress I believe & if she could get 100 ☆☆ I would give them. I'm pretty old and this was the best waitress I've ever had in my life !!! Food was cooked to order, eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, side of gravy. I will be back nxt time I'm close, hopefully Stephanie is still there.... I'd eat here even if the food wasn't good if I had her as a waitress. Great coffee too !!

Sister and I stopped in on our way to Missouri and wish we hadn't. coffee was old and not even hot. We ordered green chili cheese fries and two taco salads. Fries were ok, kind of soggy, but salad …
Food could have been better, I got an omelet, biscuits and gravy. And hash browns. Gravy was a good texture but needed more flavor. Hashbrowns were to soggy and crispy at the same time. Omelet had egg shells. Biscuits were bomb. Coffee was okay a lil water down. A Very nice customer paid for our food which was nice of them. Service was Amazing but no one was wearing Facemask.
Sunday morning close to 9:00 Atmosphere and staff were great Wife's burrito was delicious. Coffee was OK, but could easily be better. My "hard scrambled" eggs were wet (I should just tell them to lightly brown them), half of my bacon was overcooked (super brittle), the other half was great, quality bacon and nice and crispy, and the pancake I was looking forward to the most was pathetic, at best. A McDonald's pancake would have been a large improvement. We'll give them another chance, but not soon.
We liked the atmosphere, clearly lots of locals. Good waitress. We must have ordered wrong though, because the coffee and biscuits and gravy were mediocre. Disappointing.

Ordered the 8oz ribeye. Was informed that the price had gone up from the menu price of 15.75 to 18.75. I asked if it was a good steak, was told oh yes! So I ordered it medium rare. It was super thin and fatty and had no taste and was more like a medium well. I think it was like a skirt steak or something. Moms burger was good she said. Overall very disappointing for me. Won’t be back.
I used to love this place but now their food is just gross. Their fries are ok though. The service wasn’t good either. Will not be going back.

I honestly don't know how the reviews for this place are so high. Our meal was awful. I got the cheeseburger (which was fine, honestly), and cheese fries. The fries weren't fresh, and they obliviously just threw some shredded cheese on top and put it in the microwave. So the fries were a soggy, greasy mess. My husband got the chicken fried steak, and it was equally bad. The steak was tough, and the breading was not crispy at all. Just mushy. The service was really good, though. And they have complimentary desserts. They had banana pudding today, and it was actually not bad. Maybe we ordered the wrong things?
