Just had dinner here last night! This place was fantastic! Gorgeous decor, the ambiance is a whole vibe. The food is out of this world! The owner and Chef really know what they are doing, I can’t put into enough words how good the food was. I ordered the vegetable samosa, Chili Chicken, Tikka Masala, and Garlic Naan. All of it was superb. Amsterdam don’t sleep on this restaurant, go out and support them!

Tried this new restaurant. What a nice change and the food was fantastic. Got the curry chicken. Endless basmati rice is served family style with entrees and got garlic naan bread as a side. Very friendly and attentive staff can’t do enough for you from the time you walk in until you leave. A new fave!

Went for the lunch buffet and the food was fantastic. The basics were on point, flavorful and fluffy basmati rice, well seasoned tandoori chicken, and the naan was hot and delicious. All of the curries were so flavorful. Definitely worth the try, especially for price! So glad this place opened in the area and is a keeper!

Excellent service by everyone that we dealt with. Have now had a few different of their expertly prepared meals and will continue trying the entire menu. Definitely recommend this beautiful restaurant.

Dinner was soooooo good, atmosphere was splendid and the service was very good! Saw a nice variety of food on the menu at reasonable prices - we ordered Palak Chaat, Peppered Salmon and Malai Kofta and all was outstanding with more than enough food to satisfy. Would highly recommend!

First timers!! We are huge lovers of Indian food and we tried this place for the first time. The food was absolutely incredible. Food was flavorful, chicken was tender, vegetables were seasoned perfectly, and the curry was AMAZING. We also got the Samosa Chaat as an appetizer - this is a MUST try. It's clean and classy, and features a modest buffet and bar. The service was perfection- greeted at the door by a friendly staff who offered me a water while I waited for my pickup order (which took 60 seconds to come out already bagged and ready to go). They had taken the time and effort to package and label the bags of all six individual orders separately. Checkout was by a second friendly staff who helped me bring the bags to my car. The food... 🤤😋. Six individuals ordered and not one complaint, only compliments. We will return AND highly recommend.

I'm happy to have some of the best Indian food in the capital region so close to my home. The lunch buffet is high quality, the dishes rotate daily, and it is very well priced. Service is friendly and efficient. Everything inside is beautifully redone and clean.

This is quickly becoming my favorite place to eat. I haven't had the same thinf twice in my five visits. Everything is authentic and delicious, and the staff team is very attentive. Portions are huge, enough for several days of yummy leftovers.

The food is amazing- rich flavors, perfectly cooked, and perfectly spicy. It is always freshly cooked. The mango Lassi drink is the best I've ever had. The staff is great and take time to explain the menu and help you explore new dishes. The buffet is the perfect option to be able to try a little bit of everything.

We enjoyed the delicious masala dosa so much it was hard to appreciate my chicken biryani but I brought it home and it’s been the best leftovers! Honestly more than enough for two meals. We will definitely be back!

Hands down best Indian food I’ve had in NY. Phenomenal flavor and all around delicious. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfy. Exactly what I’d like from a late dinner. But the service is what needs to be mentioned the most. Everyone we talked to was polite and kind throughout the duration of our meal. I’ve never met more dedicated servers to making people feel content and happy. Can’t wait to go again.

I had never had Indian cuisine until a couple of weeks ago. I have been 3 times so far! The restaurant is very clean, staff is extremely attentive and the food I had was exceptional! My family has a genetic problem with eating cilantro (it tastes like soap) so this was a concern of mine as I knew they used it a lot in their cooking. They went out of their way to make sure that there was none in my food! Kudos for that! The butter chicken is one of the best things I have ever had. Highly recommend!

Food was amazing!!! The one thing I’d like to comment on is that the food is served somewhat family style, which I wished we’d known…3 people in our group ordered the same thing, and if they’d known they may have ordered more variety to sample.

This place was excellent! Was not too spicy for anyone that is a beginner with Indian food, friendly staff with a clean environment and great service would definitely come back time and time again came this time with my mom, but she said every time she comes back there are different dishes on the buffet so that is something that’s also nice to know lunch buffet from 11 to 2 PM. Everything was delicious, came out super-fresh, and generous portions. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and attentive too! The chili paneer, malai kofta, and pistachio kulfi were particularly delicious, but everything we got was very good.

Absolutely delicious! They basically do a never ending naan bread basket as you dine- its FRESH every time! And the food (always different options every day it changes) is always great sooo many meat free options for vegans like me!!! You cannot beat that lunch price for a BUFFET! Had an amazing time with my girlfriend. They have so much on their menu it’s hard to choose but once you find something that sounds good, it’s worth the look over. I personally got the Chilli Chicken and it was delicious, not too hot but just enough heat. The portion for the price is well worth it. I will definitely be going back some time soon!!

This restaurant is simply incredible! I went there for the first time and I am thoroughly impressed with the food and service especially. I cannot believe the level of service this restaurant provides. I never had an empty glass of water, let alone had to ask for one. The plates that are used for entree’s come out piping hot and kept our food warm while eating. Food service was perfectly timed. Exceptionally clean dishware. Even down to the moist towels, they were given to us and warm. Who even thinks to do something like that? True attentiveness of upscale dining. With the pricing that of a family restaurant. The food came out piping hot and extremely fresh. Vindaloo chicken was extremely flavorful and at the proper level of spiciness. Garlic naan was flavorful, airy, and overall well done. The fact that an ethnic restaurant of this quality, in Amsterdam, of all places is really something I’m thankful to now have. To finally not have to drive an hour for something other than Italian, pub, or casual fast food is incredible. Needless to say we will be back for as long as this restaurant can keep up with the exceptional level of both food and service.

I got the chicken tikki Marsala with some garlic nun, it was delicious! Also the gulab jumun for dessert is high recommended. Ram was our waiter, very attentive with great customer service. He definitely made the experience better for us. 10/10 recommend! Will be going back.

Had an exceptional dinner here with friends last night. Delicious pinapple mint mocktail! All of our dinners were generous portions and just as wonderful as the Guilderland location! I loved the atmosphere and decor and our server was so friendly and knowledgeable. We can't wait to come back!

I went to Grand Indian Kitchen in Amsterdam, NY on their opening night and it was excellent! I ordered the Lamb Rogan Josh, some garlic naan, and a mango lassi. Everything was perfectly prepared and super flavorful. There was a little heat in the Lamb Rogan Josh, but I like food on the spicy side. The portions were also generous - I got two meals out of what I ordered. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning soon!

Super friendly, attentive staff, meticulously clean dining room, extensive menu (loads of vegetarian options), and extremely reasonable prices. I chose the unlimited lunch buffet which had several delicious vegetarian options including baskets of fresh naan.

Food was well prepared. My wife doesn't like it to spicy and she thought medium was just right for her.

This is not only 100% authentic Indian food, the food is extremely delicious. Must visit restaurant if you want indian food. They also have buffet at a cheap rate. Highly recommended.

Best service around! I would recommend this place to anyone- the service was that of upscale fine dining. Portion sizes were generous and the food as flavorful. The staff were friendly and welcoming, they even give you heated finger napkins at the end of the meal. Very clean establishment 5/5 !!

The Tandoori chicken with tikka massala was delightful and mildly spicy. Their lentil soup with ginger,cilantro and other spices was seasoned to perfection. And the veggie samosas with tamarind sauce was so delicious.

This is a true experience in eating. Delicious food extensive menu. It's like a trip to India! Service is outstanding! The owner is very cordial and accommodating. No one will leave here hungry! I cannot recommend highly enough! Brought our 6 month old granddaughter with us she was treated like a princess.

Overall great experience at this restaurant. Our server was super attentive, pleasant, and professional. The food came out quickly with very large portions. Everything was hot, well seasoned and fresh tasting. We don't really eat Indian food often but would definitely come back again as the dishes were interesting and bursting with complex flavors. We have enough left over to eat for another 1 or 2 meals so the prices are a good value. If you're looking for a clean, quiet, pleasant atmosphere and want to try something different that's not fine dining but a flavorful, spicy take on casual dining, I recommend this restaurant.

Visited Grand Indian Kitchen on their opening day yesterday, and wow! The buffet was incredible - so many delicious options and everything was top-notch quality. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. I've been to their Albany location before, and this one is just as amazing. Can't wait to go back next weekend and explore more of the menu! 😋

I can not stress enough Grand Indian Kitchen is amazing! The restaurant is nicely renovated (was an old Pizza Hut) and the food was delicious. We started with Vegetable Samoas which I forgot to take a picture of because we dug right in, they were great with the brown sweet sauce (idk the name) with a slight bit of heat. I ordered Goat Curry, the peices of goat were big and considering it is a “boned” meat there weren’t a lot of bones and just a lot of meat. The curry was savory with the smallest hint of heat, I’m sure you can get it spicier if you ask. My boyfriend got Fish Moliee which was a Mahi Mahi in this ginger, garlic, coconut sauce. 4 big pieces of Mahi Mahi and the sauce tasted great, I can’t really describe it, I only had a small taste. They bring you out a bowl with basmati rice to share and than come back and ask if you want more, we got two bowls, and when we packed up our left overs they asked if we wanted more rice to take home! We also got the garlic naan, I definitely recommend it. To end the night we shared the homemade mango ice cream, next time we will be getting one each, you don’t get a whole lot and it’s far to good to share 😂 We will be 100% returning soon and probably often. Pictures are of my Goat curry and naan with the Mahi Mahi in the background. The mango ice cream and our bill which was definitely reasonable as we took home an entire meals worth of food. Also the staff was so kind and attentive.

The food is Excellent. I have had Indian food all up and down the eastern coast of the US; this is by far the best I have ever had. The service was impeccably. The server we had name was Albert. He was excellent, warm and kind. I have gone back several times, bringing friends and family and the all say the same.

I've both dined in and had take out from here many times. The food never disappoints, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. I appreciate that you can request a heat level for your food too, because my guts tend to be iffy with that sort of thing if food is too spicy. The menu is expansive, and it even has standard American cuisine for children (like chicken nuggets and french fries) on it, making it easier for families to eat here in my eyes. I've never had a bad meal here, either. In fact, the very first night my partner and I came here I ordered a side of coconut rice thinking it was rice cooked in coconut milk (the only way I've had it before). What I received was rice with desiccated coconut, and unfortunately I don't care for that texture. However, it was my mistake so I did not complain because the kitchen did nothing wrong. When we went to leave though the waitstaff noticed that the rice was untouched and asked if everything was okay, and I was honest and told them it was my mistake for not asking how they made their coconut rice and not to worry. They comped it anyways, which they absolutely did not have to do, nor did I expect them to. Instant respect. You also definitely get your money's worth with the food, too. I swear every portion is family sized, so my partner and I love to get different things that we're both interested in, and then share. Then we take it home because there's more than we can eat in one sitting, and voila, a perfect lunch for the next day. Honestly I cannot recommend this place enough, it is SO GOOD.

A easy authentic experience. They really jazzed up the old Pizza Hut that once resided here, and while a part of me misses those breadsticks and that garlicky crust, I can't deny GIK is by far a better option. Knew about this place since the day it opened, but never had the time to wait around until 4:30PM to order dinner; until today. Called up and put in an order for the Onion Bhaji and Chicken Tikka Masala, coming to an exact price of $27. A very good deal judging by the heft of the takeout bag. But what really counts is flavor, and I'm pleased to say there was nary a single complaint about my choices. Onion bhaji is something like carnival funnel cake dough and onion rings combine, it's not very crunchy but had a good full bodied flavor I find lacking in so many panko and beer battered onion rings. Lot of it too! And of course the main dish, the tikka masala was so darn good. Huge thick chunks of chicken, a subtly sweet curry sauce, and tender cooked rice that made my feel fuller than a stuffed turkey. I did also get hit with the carb coma, as I don't usually eat this much, so be prepared that you too may wish to take a nice nap after downing the dish. Overall GIK has excellent food, great prices, and the staff are also pretty courteous and very polite. Full stars.

Stepped outside our comfort zone and were not disappointed! Cauliflower appetizers were great. Curry, Coconut Lamb was really good. So many flavors and the portions were so much I had to take leftovers home. Reduced one star because out meal took a long time to even though it was not busy.

The food here is beyond amazing fresh authentic quality dishes. My new favorite being the spicy Kadai Chicken it was made perfectly ,with perfectly cooked and seasoned ingredients. The rice was cooked to perfection to palette cleanse the meal and the Garlic Naan is of top 3 highest quality and taste I’ve had in quite some time. Customer service was amazing and welcoming, the environment was very modern dining chic. This spot is lowkey the best in town, we are so happy we have this place a try!

I was not familiar with the dishes and they explained to me in detail how they were prepared and what was in them. My husband doesn’t eat this food regularly and he absolutely loved his meal! The portions were perfect and cooked perfectly. I had salmon and it was so tender it fell apart. The service was top notch. Not only was the food wonderful, the service and atmosphere were inviting. My new favorite restaurant! To complete your experience? At the end of your meal they bring over a hot hand towel to clean your hands and face. Now that’s service!

This looks like this restaurant has been open for less than a year. But they have come a long way, the restaurant is very clean, everything is new, the staff are very nice and they care and take the time to explain and spoil you. I like spicy and he made some recommendations on the dishes, he also when to the back and made me a special sauce that was not on the menu to satisfy my spicy appetite very nice of him. I ended up having the lamb masala which had a very good amount of lamb, great flavor and was vert saucy just how I like it. The rice could have been more aromatic, like authentic Indian rice but over all It was good. The portions were generous, i also had the Gobi Bazule and was very crispy and with great flavor, its funny that in every Indian restaurant they have their own Gobi this was very flavorful it had a good amount of crispness and the sauce or covering they do is very good. To close the experience they brought warm wet wipes and that was a nice touch.! Over all a great experience. Highly recommended.

Through my years of reviewing I have never yet tried authentic Indian food. Tonight we tried Grand Indian Kitchen, simply stated I am impressed! The staff were very pleasant and attentive. My husband had the Tandoori Chicken and I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, everything made fresh upon order including the naan bread I highly recommend the garlic naan! Every bite was delicious including my creme brulee which to my surprise they created their own version and I was happy to have on the menu for dessert as it's my favorite 💙 the restaurant was busy and they explained that the food being homemade takes longer then most restaurants but I appreciate that it's made with pride and passion. At the end of your meal they bring a warm moist lemony scented hand towel to wipe your hands what a thoughtful gesture. I highly recommend Grand Indian Kitchen if you're in the Amsterdam area.

Just had dinner with the family at the “Grand Indian Kitchen” the food here is amazing! My whole family loves spicy food. The lamb and chicken vindaloo dishes were delicious. We went there with the family last night. Table of 4 people. I don’t know how to describe our experience. Nothing was bad besides some dishes, but the employees are definetely “confused” to say at least. Our server did not take our order correctly, and we were literally the only table in the restaurant. He did not have any bad intentions, but unfortunately the work was not done. Lots of confusions. What is he doing in the kitchen all the time? At one point he was gone entirely. I tipped out of courtesy but did not receive any service in return. Food review is the following: Vegetable Samosa: 10/10 - One of the best that I have ever had in my life Mango Salad: 0/10 - Just thin sliced raw vegetables. Not even a salad Paneer Saute: 8/10 - OK, good paneer Butter Chicken: Sauce 10/10 - Unbelievable Taste Chicken 0/10 - Undercooked, probably Sysco type of chicken ( container) not fresh, terrible smell, just bad quality. Not combined with the sauce. Definitely not fresh Chicken Biryani: 4/10 Same terrible smell. Garlic Naan: 1000/10 - Out of this world I definitely won’t come again.

Food wasn't fresh it tasted horrible there was no help just help your self no explanation nothing 31.50 we didn't even finish our first plates nothing was fresh is was basically empty 😅 and we left 5 min after we came in they still charge us 31.50 for basically tasting horrible food I can see why the place is always empty never again
