Hands down the best scallops I've ever had. EVER. I also didn't think I was much for oysters, but their oysters made me a believer. Make sure you have a reservation as this place is always busy. We were able to miraculously find a few seats at the bar, but I'll definitely be making reservations in the future. Staff was exactly what you'd expect at a place where sides don't come with the meal. Super professional. The restaurant ambiance was nice, but it's tight quarters. The jazz band in the bar area could've been nixed and it wouldn't have hurt my feelings, but they didn't play so loud it was difficult to maintain a conversation.

This place was highly recommend so my wife and I tried it out for our 16th Anniversary trip to Austin. The reservation process was simple. Upon arriving we were seated at a nice table covered in rose petals and a nice Anniversary card. Our server Eric was awesome (with a badass beard). The food was perfection. The complimentary champagne and dessert was very much appreciated.

Everything was so good!! Hands down my favorite restaurant in Austin. Went for my birthday and will be back again. It’s a must try and trust me you won’t be disappointed.

Pretty expensive place but well worth the money! Good selection of wines, and the food is amazing. Especially the crab cakes are to die for but everything else we had was pretty good as well. had to wait 10 minutes in the beginning despite a reservation which was a bit annoying but more than worth the wait. Our waiter was very quick, had excellent recommendations and as a bonus he looked like Jack Nicholson. Will definitely come back when visiting Austin again.

First time to Eddie V's to celebrate 17 years with my husband a couple weeks back!! The whole experience from start to finish was nothing short of amazing. I've been to many nice restaurants to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc. I've never seen a restaurant go above and beyond as they did at Eddie V's. From rose petals and a hand signed card from the whole staff on the table to a champagne toast and the Most spectacular dessert we've ever had. (Bananas Foster!)The service was impeccable and the food was delicious as well. We will most definitely be back!

An absolute delight! We were prepared to spend the money but we also knew it is always worth it! We have been to the Arboretum in the past but this time we ventured into Austin and will make that our location from now on. It’s just more of an experience. Every step of the way from booking the reservation to picking up our car from the valet, every single interaction was wonderful, very well trained and dedicated employees!

10 out of 10, absolutely excellent experience last night with my boyfriend, celebrating our first anniversary, and our first time at Eddie V’s! From the happy hour cocktails in the lounge paired with the Eddie’s Rockefeller oysters, being brought to our table decorated with a “Happy Anniversary” card and rose petals (that nearly made me tear up haha), the dinner, quality of service, and so much more. Our server was Aaron, and he treated us so well. Cheers to him and the rest of the support staff! We had the Caesar salad, 12 oz filet mignon, and the highly recommended truffle mac and cheese. All of it was phenomenal. We agreed that we have nearly never had a better steakhouse meal. At the end we were brought a celebratory dessert plate that was a perfect close to our visit. We definitely will be returning and can’t wait to do it again! Thank you!

High quality restaurant with fantastic food and great drinks. The wife and I went out for a date night and had a reservation booked about a month in advance. We expected to use the available valet because of the convenience but got lucky with a street side spot. We were sat immediately and never had a gap in service. The wait staff were always there when you needed them and for every transition of the evening. Appetizer, mains, and desert were all terrific. We had the smallest of issues with the table being wobbly but the staff wasted absolutely no time to make sure it was fixed properly so we could continue to enjoy our evening. We went early but saw the live music band setting up as we departed. We will definitely be back to check that out. A+ establishment.

I love this place! It is consistently wonderful! They have the best servers and waitstaff who really know how to make each visit a unique and special experience. I went with a group of 4 friends to celebrate a birthday. The hostess asked if we were celebrating anything special upon our arrival and to our surprise when we were seated at our table there was a birthday card which had been signed by the waitstaff. There were also fresh rose petals scattered along the middle of our table along with a candle. After having a delicious meal with cocktails, we decided to splurge and order the bananas foster to share. In addition to the dessert we ordered (which had Happy Birthday beautifully written on it), the restaurant treated us to a second complimentary smaller bananas foster for the birthday girl. It was incredibly decadent and a very generous and sweet gesture. If you are looking for a special night out, or simply delicious food in a delightful atmosphere, this is your place. I come here as often as I can. Thanks for your great food and service!

We saw this restaurant just as we got into town, within walking distance from our hotel. After looking at the reviews, we decided to go for Happy Hour. From the moment we walked in, we were very satisfied with our choice. Miguel, our server was attentive, informative, and did a fabulous job to make us feel welcome and taken care of. We enjoyed the Crab Cake that was overflowing with delicious chunks of crab, and the best remoulade sauce we’ve ever had. We had the Filet Mignon Sliders (comes as 2, so perfect for sharing) and the Burrata Beet Salad, which they graciously split for us to share. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and plenty of food for the two of us. Because of the many reviews we read, we shared the Bananas Foster. I Never order that because I feel it’s a bit boring. Their flaming version is far from it. Bananas served over butter cake with butter pecan ice cream. To die for! My husband said it’s probably the best dessert he’s ever had.

Went here for dinner after my wedding and they made it a really special occasion for us. Charlie our server was awesome, super friendly and explained everything well. The atmosphere was nice, everything was incredibly clean and well prepped. The food was also incredible, I got the scallops, my newlywed wife got the steak special and for sides we got broccolini, crab fried rice, and lobster cheddar mashed potatoes. Can't even decide what was my favorite, it was all on point. I'm also impressed how good the oysters were for the price. I will 100% be back and I would recommend this place if you have a special occasion coming up.

We had such an amazing experience here! We were celebrating a new job promotion and loved the decor they put on our table! We got a cozy booth in the lounge and loved the live jazz! On Tuesday, February 27 my friend and I went to Eddie V’s Prime Seafood restaurant off of 5th Street in Austin, TX. I was blown away by the excellent service and the food was amazing too! The Yellowtail Sashimi and the “Caught of the Day” were my favorite. Also, the “Banana Foster on fire” was “to die for” to get as a dessert. Adriana, (our main waitress) was an outstanding server! Plus the other waiter, Angel was a great assistant as he helped serve some of the food, too. Some of the best service I’ve ever had! Our cups of sparkling water were always filled up when starting to look empty and Adriana took the time to walk us through the menu to figure out the best dish options. In addition, I forgot my leftovers to eat at lunch the next day and Adriana came running outside to hand over my bags of leftovers I accidentally left at the restaurant table. I plan on going again based on this great experience. I highly recommend going to Eddie V’s if you live or visiting Austin for high-quality food and great service!

Incredible! We started with happy hour. The bartender was knowledgeable and friendly and the cocktails he concocted were just what the doctor ordered. For dinner, I had the king crab and lobster bisque. We started with the shellfish tower. Try the truffle Mac and cheese, it was the hit if the night! Be careful, this place is PRICEY. But for a one time treat, go big. We loved every minute. Highly recommended!

Eddie V’s has the best crab cake! Generous potion, moist and delicious. Upscale, lively and great atmosphere. This location is the original Eddie V’s which started in year 2000. Don’t drive. Valet parking is the best option for this area. $15 is worth it! Or get Uber! My husband had the 22 oz ribeye. He loves his steak to be cooked PITTSBURGH (charred on the outside) medium rare. TRY IT! I had the Texas redfish with 2oz crab meat from their special. It was delightful. Same goes with their Brussel sprouts. Joshua was very attentive and efficient. Excellent service. Restaurant was busy that evening. Booking is essential.

Had a birthday dinner with a party of five. Jonathan was our server. His service was amazing. Had the 10oz fillet with lobster tail and a side of lobster mashed potatoes. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. I recommend this restaurant 10/10 for me.

My husband and I love to wine and dine but last night was our most favorite meal ever. We went To Eddie V’s to celebrate our 17th year wedding Anniversary. We were immediately sat and our table had a card signed by all the employees with rose petals. Our waiter Devin was absolutely amazing and made sure we had the best experience. He took the time to explain items on the menu and made great suggestions. We started with the gulf coast oysters, table side steak tartare, and shared the burrata salad and lobster bisque. They portioned them out perfect and all the starters were delicious. We then shared the lamb chops that sat on top of a chimichurri sauce. These again were portioned perfect and were the best lamb chops we ever had. We paired a glass of stags leap cab with the chops that complemented each other. To finish the meal we had the bananas foster cake and Devon threw in an extra scoop of butter pecan ice cream. It was to die for. Devin gave us each a glass of champagne to toast. We had the most wonderful experience and will absolutely be back. We can’t wait to tell our friends about it.

So, I really was surprised how great this restaurant is. I think so was told that this is the original Eddie V’s. I think I visited Eddie V’s before - which was great - but it was nothing like the Austin restaurant. The food was awesome! The steak, African lobster tail, and the Brussels sprouts were so good! I ridiculously wanted to eat it all because I didn’t want the leftover feeling the next day -haha. I’ll be back for sure. The waiter was awesome too. Best waiter I had in a long time. Their food is top notch! You have to give it a try. The drinks were A1 too.

I just have to give a big shoutout to our server, Joshua! He’s not only amazing at what he does, but you can tell he genuinely enjoys it. The food was delicious, as always, but Joshua truly made our experience special. He went above and beyond—making space for our baby, Beau, so he felt comfortable and showing such thoughtful care for me being pregnant. Favorite place to get stakes and sea food in ATX. The oysters are the best, Luigi is an amazing server, highly recommend if he is available. Lobster mash potatoes are so flavorful. The Godiva dessert is baked when ordered. Wonderful place with occasional live music. Have to visit more then once to try all the food. The 15 carrot drink is a nice blend of fruity and sweet. High price however worth it, have not had anything bad to eat here.

The night of our Anniversary started out interesting to say the least... we had reservations at the Arboretum location but they lost power due to a crazy storm when we were about 10 minutes from pulling up. We decided to take the drive downtown so we could still enjoy our night. We called ahead to let them know what happened and they were more then happy to accommodate our dinner. They went above and beyond to treat us to an amazing Anniversary dinner! It was our first time dinning at Eddie V's and the food was amazing and it was was a great experience.

We celebrated our anniversary here. Everything was awesome from a romantic table setting, to food recommendations for the perfect evening. We had oysters that were fresh and and delightfully tasty. Kung Pao Calamari was the surprising dish that we had to bring home for a once more. Lobster tail and scallops for the main course were tender and perfectly made, specially the pairing with citrus fruit and almonds added the nutty zingy flavor to the dish - a must try. We’ll be back for some good wine and food again to this place!

Really friendly and nice atmosphere, they have live bands too! We went there in Monday night and it was packed! Appetizers were amazing! Tuna Tartar and Tuna Sashimi was so delicious ! I got the NY rib eye 22 and it was so tasty and tender! Loved it! For dessert we got Banana poundswhich it was too sweet for me but the performance was nice! For drinks I got old fashioned which I love the most, never seen like that before, love how to bring it to the table!

I recently dined at Eddie V's Prime Seafood and had an unforgettable experience. One of the standout dishes was the Warm Salad with Goat Cheese. Eddie V's Prime Seafood is a fine dining restaurant that requires reservations and is excellent for those who enjoy seafood and meat, and who don't mind a good dessert. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is pleasant and after 7 pm there is quality live music, and don't worry, the restaurant has valet parking. I recommend dining at the restaurant.

I have come to Eddy V’s since 2020 and had never received the excellent experience I had tonight. He was so delightful and I was very satisfied with my beverages he recommended ( Golden Hour and Pomegranate Mule ) …. I loved the New York strip steak that was mouthwatering delicious 🤤 I had an elevated dining experience and will come back again. ( I have to follow a gluten free diet and he recommended the perfect appetizer & food that aligned with my dietary restrictions) He was very friendly and had great energy the whole evening , I can tell he is considerate & accommodating. He also let us switch tables halfway through our meal and was flexible & patient .

This is by far my favorite place for fresh oysters! The blue points are always my go to. I love following up with their phenomenal sashimi (they only have one but it’s THE ONE!!) and I speak this as an Asian born and raised in Asia… try the sashimi!! I also am a big fan of their Asian fusion calamari, and lobster soup. My husband and I love this spot for date nights or if we just feel like we need some yummy pure protein for the day. Did I mention they pour the soup out for you on the spot?? And the service is always so pleasant and accommodating too. 🥰🫶🏻

Girl’s night out happy hour in the bar. While there are many new places in Austin, it’s harder to be a classic. You have to do everything right to stay around and do well in the city with more restaurants per capita than anywhere false in the United States. And Eddie V’s is an example of what works. Don’t miss the crab cakes. While I could be salty that their price on the badly hour menu was not lower than the price on the regular menu, I’m not. Because the 3 of us at the table that ordered them all said they were the best we had ever had in our life. Biggest chunks of crab ever and little filler, crisp breading on the edges. Buttery. Get them. The steak sliders were also a hit. The steak melted in your mouth like butter on soft rolls. The truffle beef tartare was good but my least favorite. But still good and done well. The others were just so great that I had to choose the one I’d kill. The salads looked fantastic. Both the bananas foster and the chocolate dessert were yummy. Get the bananas foster if on a date for the show. Lit on fire. Great service and impeccable atmosphere. As it is every time we come. Try the happy hour specials. A good way to try many things but not break the bank or have calorie guilt because the servings are big enough to split but still smaller bites.

We celebrated Valentines at the downtown Eddie V's and it was exceptional. What made the evening unforgettable, though, was the service. Daniel went above and beyond in every possible way. His attention to detail, timing, and genuine warmth elevated the entire night. He offered thoughtful recommendations, and made us feel completely taken care of without ever being intrusive. It felt personalized, intentional, and sincere. Daniel is a true professional and a standout example of hospitality done right.

Eddie V's is probably my favorite steak and seafood restaurant in Austin, and I've been to most of them. Service is outstanding and everything I've tried on the menu has been wonderful. One thing I would complain about is that the valet service costs $15 - if I'm paying a $200+ check for a dinner for two, I shouldn't have to pay for parking, and there aren't any other options in the area besides valet that I know of. That being said I love the restaurant and will continue to be a regular.

Went to Eddie V’s Downtown Austin with a group and had a great experience. The service was fantastic — attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly for a larger table. The food was really good. I had the sea bass, which is one of my favorites anywhere, and it did not disappoint. The food at this place was amazing in every sense. Solid oyster selection. However, the attention to detail and costumer service is what makes Eddie's an absolute star for special occasions. We came here to celebrate my wife's birthday, and it definitely was the right choice. They left a personalized birthday card at the table along with some flower petals, the card was signed by every crew member and everyone from the hostess to the server personally congratulated her several times. The courtesy birthday dessert has its own little show and we liked it so much we got another one. Our server Adam was very knowledgeable with everything related to the menu and pairings, but his top quality was his outstanding costumer service. Last but not least, there was live jazz at the lounge so we moved over there after our dinner to have a drink and enjoy the music. No worries, the Jazz wasn't crazy loud so you can still have a conversation comfortably. 5 stars.

We had an amazing experience at Eddie V’s on Saturday! Our group of eight sat in the bar area, and from start to finish, everything was outstanding. The food was absolutely fantastic—perfectly prepared and delicious—but what really set the evening apart was the exceptional service. It was, without a doubt, some of the best I’ve received in Austin. Our server, Miguel, was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure every detail was just right. To top it all off, the live music by Kenny Williams was phenomenal. He created the perfect vibe for the night and truly elevated the entire dining experience. Eddie V’s delivered on every level—great food, amazing service, and unforgettable music. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Austin!

The food and service here is top notch! We shared the tuna tartare and crab cake appetizers. Both were fresh and delicious. My entree was the Chilean sea bass. So light and delicate with a broth so tasty I wanted to drink it! My family ordered steaks, the mashed potatoes and crab fried rice. Our server was friendly, funny and attentive. Highly recommend!

Amazing birthday experience!!!! We went for my birthday although it was not noted in the reservations, upon arrival they asked if it was any special occasion and they were told that it was my birthday. I’m glad they did because the experience was beyond expectations thanks to our server Gianna. She was very attentive and had such a great energy. The food and drinks were sooo good and of course we could not finish everything. This was my first visit but I’ll definitely be a repeat customer. If you can ask for Gianna !!!

Held my birthday dinner here. Booking the space and selecting the preselect menu was super easy thanks to Jo. The room and table placement was perfect for my party of 18. I loved that I was able to see and talked to all my guest without having to move from my spot. The old fashions were tasty and the food was exceptional. Thank you to our servers Matthew and another gentleman for the excellent service and attention. Definitely a top tier experience!

Eddie V's was a great establishment, very clean and inviting. Unfortunately, we were not able to make a reservation but they were able to still seat us. We were celebrating our anniversary and my birthday and they surprised us with rose petals on the table and a personalized card. The drink I had, the Red Dragon, was delish to me. It was super strong but not to where the alcohol was overwhelming. The flavor and seasoning on all of the food we ordered was on point. The lobster and shrimp were cooked well. The only two issues we had was that his steak, ordered medium, had quite a bit of well done areas as did mine but no as much as his. The bread that came to the table was very hard, wish they would have had softer bread or rolls. Overall, we enjoyed every minute here and would come back again when visiting Austin.

It’s been a while since we have been here. Service was good, could have been more attentive. The bar tables are a bit too small for dinner. The wedge salad was delicious as was the bananas foster, with a unique take including banana bread and butter pecan ice cream. The steak was a little bland. In previous visits I would have rated this five stars. It felt not quite that good this time, but the atmosphere is great and we were sitting in the bar area.

I am extremely disappointed with my dining experience at this establishment. My Valentine's Day dinner fell far short of expectations. My filet mignon was initially undercooked, and upon being returned, was overcooked. The dessert was unacceptable, tasting strongly of burnt cinnamon, and the creamy potatoes were unappetizing and firm. The exceptional service provided by your waitstaff is the sole reason I awarded a four-star rating; however, the culinary experience was deeply disappointing.

A beautifully displayed housing, this is an over the top restaurant to come to for any special event. Here, you get what you pay for. Nothing but the best and freshest ingredients, the meals are displayed beautifully on each plate, drinks are perfect with every pour, and the service is absolutely phenomenal. All of our meals were as imagined, perfection, each and every bite. Every employee here dressed to impress, attire very clean, and happy to assist us in every moment of our meal. Hands down, absolutely amazing, if possible to request a server, Gianna, the best. I highly recommend this place! Stop by when you have a moment.

I love Eddie V's! But on more than one occasion I've had a quality control issue with my meal. The first time was when I ordered the lobster tacos at a location in Dallas. The menu does not state there are avocado in this dish. I'm allergic. Took one bite and immediately spit it out. Of course they immediately replaced the dish and was very apologetic. I warned that the menu should be updated to reflect all the ingredients because had i seen avocado, i would have asked to prepare the item without it or order something else. The last time i visited that location, the menus were still not updated. The second incident was at this Austin location. I asked the server if there are mushrooms in the fried rice and he said yes (this is not stated in the menu but I've learned to ask upfront). He offered to have the rice made without mushrooms. The dish arrives, i take one bite and immediately spit it out. There were tons of mushrooms in it! The server was very sorry and had it remade. But these are potentially life and death mistakes. Food allergies or even just a dislike of certain items should be handled with vigilant attention.

There are two locations and this is the original. Once you get into town, a lot of traffic and traffic lights. So add some time to your travel. $12+tips for valet parking. Reservation was easy and was fast seating us. Service was excellent as well. Food came out quick and to the order. Price was reasonable for its level, but not cheap. Perfect for occasion. Will be back for sure.

Made reservations on open table. Really nice atmosphere and good drinks. The sashimi wasn’t really special, it tasted a little bland. Bread was stale and hard to eat. Steaks were good, but not amazing. The truffle mac and cheese was life changing, a must try! Also the sauce that came with the asparagus was amazing. Espresso martini was really really good and creamy! The service was amazing and our server Luigi went out of his way to deliver the best service.

Overpriced and underwhelming food. We were visiting Austin and wanted to visit the original location of this well-known restaurant chain. Overall it was an OK experience. The sides that we ordered with the main course including the crab rice and the potatoes were over salted. The Chilean Seabass was good but overpriced. The thing I liked the least was the fact that the suggested tip was added after taxes which in Texas are quite high. This is certainly not standard. On the upside the service was very good and the atmosphere in general was great with a live jazz band playing in the corner.

Usually we love Eddie V’s. Maybe tonight was rough but I’m leaving a review so they can fix it before Valentine’s Day rush. This visit was disappointing but my husband would not let me say anything. The crab cake was fantastic - my only issue there was that it had quite a bit of shell in it. The Caesar salad was okay - there was an excess amount of Mediterranean olive tapenade and seemed as if it may have lacked dressing. The wagyu strip was not with the $. It was ordered medium rare but it was not tender when it came out. I had to saw through the meat with my knife and then I spit out most of what I cut up because it wasn’t tender (wagyu should always be tender and flavorful) and it tastes very metallic - likely due to not following the cooking and resting process for wagyu properly resulting in a very distinct taste of myoglobin. The sides were on point but cold. The desserts were okay. It was hard to find the lost appetite with little gnats and flies flying around and having to swat them away. I was starving at the time I ordered dessert and by the time dessert came out my appetite had completely dissipated due to a lady vomiting all in the bathroom from the entry into a stall. For $300+ it was kind of a nightmare. Take the extra time driving and go to Steiner Ranch.

This was my first time to this location. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We got the yellow trail sashimi as an appetizer based on the server's recommendation. It was good, fresh and light. I got a mocktail and my husband got the smoked old fashioned which he said was very good. I then got the seabass, the first couple of bites were really good but then it seemed a bit dry but too late to send it back. My husband got the filet and had the same experience. It's an expensive place and it should be 100% right. I don't think we'll go back based on this experience. We had recently been to the arboretum location which was much better

I was expecting Austin location to be “wow” but nope Eddy V in San Antonio is way higher quality of service and details. For example the table cloth looks like: fine, let’s throw something white on the table. Not even pressed. It’s all about details. Our server was average. But other staff members were fabulous and welcoming.

If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, this is not the place to go. It’s more of a high price chain style restaurant. The appetizers were OK. The main course meals came out room temperature or cold. For the amount of money you spend here is not worth the trouble. The environment is very loud so you can hardly even hear the person that you sit next to. I would not recommend going there. I got a $110 wagyu steak and it literally just came smacked on a plate with no garnish or any kind of sauce!

I was invited by a group of friends for a girls birthday dinner and the poor service was so unsettling! Our sever Josh just seemed lost. My steak would over done, I couldn’t get him to refill my water glass and he failed to acknowledge my girlfriend’s birthday. We weren’t looking for a free dessert but no acknowledgment was absolutely baffling.

We have been to Eddie Vs in San Antonio several times and had each time an amazing experience, we decided to dine at the Austin location thinking it would be the same. We are so upset and disappointed. It’s Thursday night, barely any tables taken and service was non existent! We ordered some wine and the big Eddie seafood plater to start, the wine and the seafood were both brought to the table and the server completely disappeared. My husband had to get up and approach the bar tender to ask her to get our server, she had an attitude. We had planned on eating our typical steak Oscar style and truffle Mac and cheese after the seafood and decided to just ask for the check once we finally saw the server again. Truly sad and disappointing since Eddie Vs has been one of our favorite spots for YEARS! We take everyone there to celebrate any ocassion! Sad, upsetting and just really ruined it for us. Oh, to make matters worse, we stood by the front desk on our way out for several minutes trying to find either a manager or anyone in charge to complain, no one!!! On sight. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE all around.

This place is robbing people out of their hard earned money with southside towing. They are scamming people with their certain time valet sign that no one notices while parking or in a rush to park at a city parking spot. I’m sure the people from this restaurant is getting a cut from the towing company. Yesterday I was charged 398 dollars that this restaurant valet had my car get towed. When they saw me feed the parking meter and leave my car to go inside my hotel. They could have told me, hey you can’t park there or you will get towed. The valet guys let me park and saw me feed the meter and never mentioned anything. Worst people I have ever encountered. The valet and southside towing all in this scam and never warn people even when they see them parking cause they get a cut out of the tow. I would give the restaurant and its valet people a. -10 starts if I could. This one star is still too much for these types of scamming people. Normally we warn people that is visiting from out of state out from where I come from. We don’t take advantage of visitors from out of state
