Opinions de Hanagi Restaurant Anaheim
Wow wow wow! We were looking for sushi within a walk from our hotel and found this gem! I was so impressed and so happy with this decision! Jose, our server, was phenomenal! So helpful with wonderful recommendations! Highly recommend for a wonderful, classy experience!
Really impressed with their quality of sushi! Each piece was melt-in-your-mouth incredible, and even the rice in the nigiri had amazing flavor. We loved every one of the rolls and each bite called for pause to enjoy it. Staff was friendly and attentive, and the layout and style of the restaurant was great. Definitely coming back here next time I'm in town.
Amazing serive and amazing food. Everything we ordered was fantastic. Our favorite was the Sea Bass (I forgot to take a pic) and we want to go back. So the next time we're in the area (we usually are there for Disneyland) we will probably go there for dinner again. If you are in the area, you should go too!
Wow! What a treat it was to find this place. I loved the setting and the food was absolutely fantastic. Everything was so fresh and tasty. The manager, waitress, and Sushi Chefs were all top-notch! I thought the $25 parking was high, but then I was told that they validate, so that was a pleasant surprise. I have enjoyed great sushi in my years of global travel, including many visits to Japan, and this was right up there with the best. I highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to coming back to do this all over again.
I thought to myself, there was no way this sushi restaurant is gonna be good inside of this hotel, I was unbelievably wrong. The single greatest sushi I’ve ever experienced in my life!
An unforgettable Japanese dining experience! I’ve been living in Anaheim for over 4 years, and I can honestly say — I’ve never had Japanese food this good before. From start to finish, our evening was flawless. We found this gem through OpenTable (thank you, OpenTable!), where I instantly booked a reservation. The moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by a kind and welcoming host who quickly showed us to our table. Just two minutes later, our drinks arrived, followed by our food only five minutes after that — the service was impressively fast and organized. I started with a Sapporo on draft, followed by another Japanese beer (I wish I remembered the name — it was incredible). But the real highlight of the night was learning how to properly enjoy traditional sake. I never realized there was such a beautiful ritual behind it — sipping it slowly, appreciating the depth of flavor. It was a fantastic experience. Now the food… absolutely exceptional. The sushi, rolls, nigiri, and gunkan were beyond delicious — everything was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. This is top-tier Japanese cuisine. A special shout-out to our waiter, German — he was phenomenal. So attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food and drink. His recommendations made our evening even better. The bill was very reasonable for the quality we received, and we left extremely satisfied. I’m already looking forward to coming back — and bringing friends next time. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious Japanese food with warm service and a great atmosphere, this place is an absolute must-visit.
Great find, great treat. The sashimi and sushi are fresh and top notch. Must try the Otoro Sashimi. They do have house-made soya sauce with 0% sodium! Yuzu cheesecake could have more yuzu flavor though. Dont forget to validate your parking ticket for the complimentary parking.
This place is just amazing! The food is phenomenal, the staff were absolutely kind and informative, and the restaurant just transports you to Japan.
Hanagi Restaurant a hidden gem! the best Japanese restaurant I have ever been! FOOD: five star! fresh, delicious, flavorful, made to perfection with absolute satisfaction, savoring all flavors in each every bite. No exaggeration! LOCATION: it’s absolute package of experience! located inside at the heart of Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel, where in the amazing experience does not stop at Hanagi Restaurant, you can explore the hotel amenities; game room (love the pool table), bar, bistro, koi pond, deli and gift shop, picturistic views of gardens. Just amazing! Plus the fireworks from Disney you get to watch it by the parking lot! Best view even better than downtown Disney. Whew! Definitely coming back and will share this amazing experience with family and friends! SERVICE: treated like the Queen and King! Thank you to all the staff, Jose our server and the amazing Chefs! Thank you for the experience!
It’s a great experience! The food is top notch and the sushi is fantastic! Do give this a try and you won’t regret it! The server German was amazing too! The 5 star is for him!
Food was--fresh sashimi and some comes from Japan. It's weird in a western medieval hotel.

All around the place is very good. Food is tasty and service is outstanding. I recommend this place for a pleasant dinner.

This was my second visit to the restaurant, and once again, I ordered the wagyu shabu with broth—it’s easily the best shabu I’ve had in the area. While the sushi is beautifully prepared and certainly worth mentioning, I’m a soup lover at heart, so my focus remains on the hot pot. The wagyu cooks in just five seconds, melting into the kombu broth and transforming it into the most rich, flavorful soup I’ve tasted. A deeply satisfying experience from start to finish.
Great experience celebrating with the family. The sushi was really fresh and high quality. All the dishes looked amazing and tasted even better. We loved the sashimi and all the rolls. The Tempura was really good too. I highly recommend this place for the food and vibes
First time trying Hanagi and we were really happy with it. The restaurant feels a bit tucked away, more cozy than a typical hotel place, which we liked. Our kids were tired and a little cranky, but the staff stayed very patient and friendly the whole time. The photographer somehow caught the one moment when everyone was actually smiling at the same time, and the print we took home ended up being one of our favorite photos from this trip.
We ate at Hanagi inside the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel and it was a really nice surprise. The hotel is quiet and pretty, sowas already sets a good mood before you even sit down. Dinner was great and the staff was super attentive without hovering. The photo service at the end was actually awesome and the picture came out really flattering.
Hanagi is in the Anaheim Majestic Garden Hotel and it feels like a little hidden spot. The vibe is calm, the place is clean, and the food tasted really fresh. Service was smooth and everyone was really polite. They also had a photo service and it was a nice touch, the photo came out perfect.
Stayed at the hotel and decided to try Hanagi, and it ended up being a really nice surprise. It’s quiet, relaxed, and the sushi was actually very good - the fish tasted fresh and the plates looked clean and simple, not overdone. Our server took time to explain a couple of things on the menu to us. There was also a photographer walking around; he took a few quick shots of our family at the table and later brought us a printed photo that honestly looks like something from a vacation album.
We came to Hanagi after a long day at the parks and it was exactly the kind of calm dinner we were hoping for. The rolls and sashimi tasted fresh, and the tempura was light, not oily. Service was easygoing but still on top of things. They also had a photographer who offered to take a family picture - we said yes, and the printed photo turned out way better than we expected. It’s one of those little things that made the night feel special.
We had the best experience at Hanagi last night. Staff was very kind and it was the best sushi we have had. Beautiful restaurant setup as well. Thank you!

Had a great time. Each table is private. Service is excellent. Sushi is excellent and super fresh. They don't have traditional alcohol beverages on the menu, but our waiter went out to the bar in the lobby to get me my beverage of choice.
Good quality sushi. Restaurant is within the Anaheim Majestic Hotel. You have to enter their paid parking lot, but if you eat at the restaurant your ticket will get validated. Food is great. Always depends on how good the fish is they get. But definitely better quality than ayce sushi. It's not a bad price for what you are getting. (this is not fast food so don't expect cheap prices). For future visits, I would probably stay focused on ordering nigiri or sashimi. They do offer shabu, but have not tried. Minor complaint, there's quite a few fruit flies that are randomly flying around and disturb the dining experience.
We were not expecting this to be as great as it was, but we had a pretty amazing experience. Service was top-notch. The shishito peppers are maybe the best I’ve had at a Japanese restaurant. Salmon was out of this world. Other than some flies and gnats flying around, this was absolutely a must-try restaurant. Probably best for small families after a day at Disneyland or Downtown Disney.
The location of Hanagi is in the Magic Castle Hotel, and the decorations are spot on for the Disney Castle feel. It is a bit interesting walking from the hotel side into the restaurant but not a bad experience. The food was delicious. At first, the Yelp page said they had shabu shabu, but when my party asked, they said they didn't serve it at the time. I ordered the Chef Chirashi Sushi Bowl and the Hanagi Special Roll, which was incredibly delicious. The price is a bit on the more expensive side, but they validate parking. Overall, I had a good experience with the food, even with it missing the shabu. I would like to come back here again and try their other menu items.

If you know good sushi dont go here. Best rating i can give it. Better than grocery store sushi but not better than the local spot that sells u 5 dollars rolls. No flavor and california roll has way too much mayonnaise in it. Scallops were sub par and staff have rough communication issues between eachother. Atmosphere means nothing when you cant enjoy the food! Learn n do better hanagi or lower ur prices to match the grocery store quality.
