We stopped in on a Saturday morning, just before the lunch rush, and qué experiencia tan increíble! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the hospitality was truly top-notch—so friendly and attentive. Right in the dining room, they were making fresh, homemade tortillas by hand, and the aroma alone was enough to make us fall in love. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, and let me tell you—¡para morirse! The sauce puts Clamato to shame with its bold, rich, auténtico flavor. We also enjoyed the chilaquiles poblanos with pollo and a couple of tacos, and every bite was absolutely delicious. If you want food that tastes like it came straight from a Mexican kitchen filled with love, this place is it. Highly recommend!

I had the best time at El Gobernador! Their food is incredible – I’m still thinking about those Camarones Momia! Bacon-wrapped shrimp, stuffed with creamy crab – each bite was heaven. I also got the El Gobernador Tacos, and the combo of crunchy shrimp with melted cheese, bell peppers, and onions was so tasty I didn’t want it to end. Oh, and the Ensenada Taco with battered shrimp topped with fresh cabbage, pico, and a chipotle sauce was just amazing. To top it off, I sipped on two mango margaritas – so refreshing and just the right balance of sweetness. One thing that really added to the vibe was the remodeled seating area. It's stylish and comfortable, perfect for catching a game – we watched Game 2 of the World Series there, and it just felt like the best way to enjoy amazing food and sports. If you’re looking for fantastic seafood with a fun atmosphere, El Gobernador is where it’s at!

I had heard about this place and was told it was good. They offer a wide variety of seafood dishes. I ended up ordering the shrimp zarandiado taco(left, shrimp covered in cream chipotle sauce. Served in a nice toasted tortilla), the gobernador taco(right, filled with cheese,bell peppers and onions. Also, served in a toasted tortilla.), and shrimp ensenada style taco(center). All three tacos had great flavors. Each one had it's own taste. I also ordered the shrimp empanadas. They seemed to be filled with shrimp, minced onion, cilantro, and they were well seasoned. They were deep fried in some sort of different masa texture. Nice and soft shell and was served with creamy chipotle sauce. Prices weren't that bad. It all depends on what you order. The micheladas are good btw!

Great service and delicious food. I had the pineapple aguas fresca and I could taste that it was hand made. The al pastor tacos were very flavorful and perfect with the green salsa 🔥🔥

Found this place on google maps close to where I live . It was empty but I guess since it was still early . The food was absolutely delicious, I ordered agauachiles and I loved them . Also the prices were very reasonable.

Get the $24 seafood special (the only photo shown on the restaurant's website), listed under Del Mar. Delicious AF and unique AF. Best meal of my life. My parents loved the authenticity, as well. Our waitress was so incredibly kind and attentive too. This place is perfect in every way. Parents got tacos and fajitas, which they loved as well. Portions are huge, service is excellent, ambiance is cool AF. Best food we've ever had anywhere around the world and our great country. Music was cool too. Just wish this place had a location in New York, so i can go regularly. Rivals any place in Mexico too. Can't say enough good things about this place. This place is just as legendary as The Great Revolutionary General Pancho Villa!! Viva la Mexico & Viva Mariscos El Governador (Arnold Schwarzenegger joke, obviously). This place is epic, will never forget my experience here : )

OMG!!!! This is a must try for their FISH TACOS ENSENADA STYLE! JESUS CHRIST himself couldn't make a better fish taco! The batter was light, tight, crispy and crunchy! As if they used beer or soda water to create that airy bubbly batter! And the size? Forget about it! It was impressive! This is a must stop 🛑 in once to try. Haven't tried other foods here yet but will be coming back!

This place was open for dine-in, with sanitizer available at the entrance, all servers did have masks. Service was good. However, I felt the price point for 3 people ordering tostadas at approximately $75 was not worth it. Or perhaps, being from out of town, LA pricing caught me completely off guard. Take from this what you can get but it did directly affect my review. At $25 per person, I do honestly expect more quality through taste and presentation of the food. I understand that COVID-19 has pressed many restaurants to use disposable, one time use serving-ware. Here, the food was served on Styrofoam plates 😭; if this place is open for dine-in, opting for a better-reusable option with our current climate conditions is necessary. **because Styrofoam is terrible for our environment. The items ordered include two tostadas de ceviche de pescado (with an add on of callo), two tostadas de aguachile $9, two tostadas embarazadas (camaron cocido, pulpo, Jaiba, abalon) $12?, one beer and one michelada. As you can tell from the pictures, presentation was not high on the priority list. I truly enjoyed the spice level on the aguachile tostadas which comes with your choice of red or green salsa. Michelada came prepared with a chile rim, chopped pepino in it (? Don't know why, as that would fudge reduce the carbonation of the beer) and already had the beer in it when it arrived. The flavor was okay; nothing extremely flavorful. If the beer was served to the customer, on the side, for the customer to serve at their discretion, that would have been better. Bathroom was out of Tissue paper.

When we were ready to order, most of the items on the menu were not available or ready. It took a long time to get our food even though the restaurany was pretty empty and when we did get our food, it was not great (soggy and not what we expected taste wise). My mom got sick from their fish soup so it was not a good experience overall.

Food was a disaster, insipid, look at my fajitas mix, is just a lot of onions with something, there was not even a bit of salt, my wife requested a 7 mares, it was overwhelmingly spicy. We won't come back here, stay away, really bad food.

Served shrimp ceviche that was grey…. So not cooked at all in the lemon juice. 2 Tacos took 10 minutes to come out. After sending back the un-edible shrimp ceviche, we ordered 4 battered shrimp tacos…. They brought out 4 battered fish tacos…. I asked for lemon wedges for the tacos…. Never brought. All in all, pretty awful. Of the hour we were there, we spent maybe 10 minutes eating. The worst 54$ dollars spent in my life.
