They offer a wide variety of broths—including Spicy Sichuan, which is one of my personal favorites—and you can choose up to three for your meal. My husband suggested hot pot for our date day, so we decided to try Nice to Meet You. He’s been there before, absolutely loves it, and even brought my brothers with him on another occasion so I was excited to finally check it out myself. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and seated right away. The hostess and servers were all extremely kind, polite, and attentive. Now, let’s get into the meal itself the hot pot! You get to choose three soup bases, and here’s what we went with: Spicy Miso Soup: This was both my husband’s and my personal favorite perfectly balanced with just the right amount of heat and richness. Mushroom Soup: Good, but it could’ve used a bit more flavor. Not bad, just not my top pick. Thai Tom Yum: Also really good tangy and flavorful, but the spicy miso still wins for us. For the meats, we ordered ribeye, Wagyu sirloin, and lamb. My personal favorites were the ribeye and the Wagyu sirloin so tender, flavorful, and satisfying. The lamb was good too, but I’m definitely more of a beef fan. They also offer skewers, and my husband ordered a few that were absolutely amazing. One had mushrooms stuffed inside the meat, which ended up being both of our favorites. Another had cilantro stuffed in also flavorful and unique. For appetizers, I went with the vegetable spring rolls, which were crispy and paired perfectly with the sweet chili sauce. And for dessert, I tried the chocolate cake surprisingly rich and delicious for an all-you-can-eat place! They also had fresh fruit and other dessert options that looked great. I didn’t get to take photos of the food bar or the refrigerated section with all the meats and ingredients, but everything was neatly arranged and extremely clean. I also added some instant ramen to my spicy miso soup, and it was the perfect finishing touch warm, comforting, and flavorful. Overall, I’d give Nice to Meet You a 10/10. The food quality is excellent, the service was on point, the restaurant was spotless, and the staff were genuinely friendly. It’s definitely worth the money for the experience, the freshness, and how attentive everyone was. No complaints at all just an all-around fantastic dining experience. For the weekend/holiday price, you get to pick one specialty item per person, we tried the abalone and black beef tripe 👌 both were super fresh and flavorful. You can choose 3 types of broth — we went with Tom Yum, Pork Bone, and Spicy Miso. Totally obsessed with the Tom Yum and Spicy Miso since they add that extra punch to the meat while the Pork Bone is perfect for cooking veggies for a lighter, cleaner taste. For meats, we got beef tongue, top sirloin, lamb shoulder, and beef brisket, all fresh and tender! I grew up eating hotpot, but honestly, hotpot to me was always just sliced meat, some veggies, and noodles. This place completely changed what I thought hotpot could be. Their dinner AYCE includes appetizers, snacks, skewers, veggies, a full sauce bar, cooked food, meats, seafood, drinks, and dessert. Appetizers like spicy potato, wood ear, edamame… snacks like sesame balls and shrimp chips… even childhood gems like haw flakes. Then you get to the skewer fridge — veggies, offals, marinated meats — all neatly packed and ready to grab. Once you load up your tray, your cooked dishes, meats, and seafood start arriving. And the seafood is insane. Abalone, jumbo shrimp, scallops… and for just $4 more, you can try lobster. The meats are just as impressive — highly recommend the beef tongue and prime short rib. Also, being able to do a three-way split pot is a lifesaver if you want to try the spicy house-made broth but still want a milder backup like the mushroom base. Make sure to hit the appetizer section for the cold dishes while you wait for the broth to boil!

We chose the all you can eat hot pot option. For the meats, we ordered #6 prime beef short rib, #7 wagyu beef top sirloin, and #10 chicken breast. The chicken breast was actually the best among them. For the soup base, I recommend the kimchi flavor. It wasn’t spicy at all and tasted really good. One downside was the rice. It was too sticky with the grains stuck together. The side bar had a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and desserts, which was nice.

I love the place, it’s one of my top two favorite hot pot restaurants around. The concept and interior decorations here are very unique, I absolutely love the self-serve fridges where you have a diverse selection of vegetables, meats/skewers and noodles. The food itself is delicious, the fried rice is the best I’ve had. Typically I do not even like friend rice because it can be very oily and overly heavy. Here however, the fried rice is light and fluffy and full of flavor. The broths are delicious and perfect for the cold weather and the meat has always been fresh and tasty. The sauce bar has more selection than most places. The AYCE sides are also great and the selection is large, the fried chicken kaarage is so good! Great pricing for a really great selection of fresh AYCE foods and a must try if you haven’t been.

I took advantage of the unlimited free servings of meat, veggies, and appetizers and honestly my favorite were definitely the wagyu, prime short rib, and pork belly. For appetizers I loved the cumin beef skewers and the karage fried chicken. Plus for the dinner price you get to choose a premium item I got the jumbo scallops and my friend got the tiger prawns, both soooo good. If you check in on Yelp you get a free Coke so I did that. The service was amazing our waiter Charles was very attentive, and took our orders as we needed. This place also felt really fancy, the decorations were beautiful, seats and tables were nice and clean, and overall great atmosphere. Im coming again for sure and with an empty stomach again.

If you do not feel like cooking lunch or want an affordable meal with friends, this place definitely works. Here are some very honest thoughts. Flavor-wise, it is the familiar hot pot profile. But they do several things very well. First, the sauce bar has a huge selection and is very clean. There are snacks, sesame balls, beef jerky, purple rice porridge, white fungus soup, ice jelly, braised duck feet, cold dishes and fruit. Since they offer sukiyaki broth, there are also unlimited pasteurized eggs. The abalone speaks for itself in the photos. The lobster tail is an additional 3.99, but it is huge. The live bullfrog is also impressive, with firm, clean meat. There is so many skewers, appetizers, meats, and desserts to choose from. love all the flavors. the meat is very tender and they have a large selection of veggies as well. i absolutely love love their sweet crispy milk curd. it's a must order. great place if you're craving hotpot and love options.

I think this place is such a great value. The menu is at the end, and on weekdays it is 29.99 per person. This price includes all the meats, the sauce bar and everything in the cold fridge. It is already a lot and more than enough. If you want better cuts of meat and seafood, the price is 39.99. Both options include the broth — and it is the Mercedes-style three-section pot, where you can choose three flavors. If you do not feel like cooking lunch or want an affordable meal with friends, this place definitely works. Here are some very honest thoughts. Flavor-wise, it is the familiar hot pot profile. But they do several things very well. First, the sauce bar has a huge selection and is very clean. There are snacks, sesame balls, beef jerky, purple rice porridge, white fungus soup, ice jelly, braised duck feet, cold dishes and fruit. Since they offer sukiyaki broth, there are also unlimited pasteurized eggs. The cold fridge for skewers and other ingredients is nicely organized, and even though it is AYCE, the skewers are not skimpy at all; each one is huge. At many hot pot restaurants on weekdays, dishes like tripe or pork brain are expensive, so you usually hold back. Here you can eat as much as you want, which is great. The ingredients also look quite fresh. Since we tried the 39.99 option today, here is what you get compared to the 29.99. The beef cuts are definitely higher quality, with marbling that works really well in sukiyaki broth. And the seafood is worth praising. I think the extra ten dollars is absolutely worth it. The abalone speaks for itself in the photos. The lobster tail is an additional 3.99, but it is huge. The live bullfrog is also impressive, with firm, clean meat. For the pot, you can choose three broths. We picked spicy butter, pickled cabbage pork broth and sukiyaki. Many people forget that there are small dishes you can order too. We got the spicy cold noodles, which were refreshing, plus brown sugar rice cakes and fried skewers. There are actually a lot of choices, and they help balance the meal. The place gets quite busy. Even on a weekday lunch, most tables were full, with lots of Americans dining here, so the value is clearly recognized.

I was honestly so surprised HOW much you really get within the dinner deal!! For $40, you get so many options from meats to skewers (along with a choice of a specialty item like scallops!). The interior is super nice (like you’d be okay taking your parents here haha), and all the servers and staff are welcoming and explain it very well. You also get a choice of 3 broths which is different from other spots (I really like this fact). Please don’t sleep on the chocolate cake (along with the other Chinese desserts!). I’d absolutely go back whenever im around.

This is a wonderful place for AYCE hotpot. The price is great, no wonder they have so many people even on weekdays. It's $29.99 lunch and $39.99 dinner/holidays. The price already includes self-service bar, soups and sides. Some of these are usually charged extra in other places. The restaurant is very bright and clean. The bar and the fridge are filled regularly. Meat also comes fast. Love it!

Beef tongue, fatty beef, steak, Wagyu beef… take whatever you want! The condiment station is well-stocked and replenished quickly! There are also beef jerky, side dishes, preserved vegetables, ice jelly, and fruit as snacks. The black tripe is crisp and clean, the scallops and lobster tails are very fresh, and the tiger prawns with shells are tender! The restaurant also offers fried beef skewers, chicken cartilage skewers, and golden fried rice.

This is my first time trying an all you can eat hotpot restaurant and it did not disappoint. The price is really good it's $29.99 for lunch and $39.99 for dinner/holidays. I took advantage of the unlimited free servings of meat, veggies, and appetizers and honestly my favorite were definitely the wagyu, prime short rib, and pork belly. For appetizers I loved the cumin beef skewers and the karage fried chicken. Plus for the dinner price you get to choose a premium item I got the jumbo scallops and my friend got the tiger prawns, both soooo good. If you check in on Yelp you get a free Coke so I did that. The service was amazing our waiter Charles was very attentive, and took our orders as we needed. This place also felt really fancy, the decorations were beautiful, seats and tables were nice and clean, and overall great atmosphere. Im coming again for sure and with an empty stomach again.

Great AYCE skewer hot pot spot. You grab the skewers yourself so it’s fun to try a little bit of everything. The broth was flavorful and the ingredients were fresh. Lots of meat, seafood, and vegetables to choose from. Very good value for the price and perfect for coming with friends.

Nice to Meet You Skewer Hot Pot in Irvine is a great spot for a quick and customizable hot pot meal. I tried the spicy miso, sukiyaki, and tom yum broths, and all three were flavorful in their own way. I love the place, it’s one of my top two favorite hot pot restaurants around. The concept and interior decorations here are very unique, I absolutely love the self-serve fridges where you have a diverse selection of vegetables, meats/skewers and noodles. The food itself is delicious, the fried rice is the best I’ve had. Typically I do not even like friend rice because it can be very oily and overly heavy. Here however, the fried rice is light and fluffy and full of flavor. The broths are delicious and perfect for the cold weather and the meat has always been fresh and tasty. The sauce bar has more selection than most places. The AYCE sides are also great and the selection is large, the fried chicken kaarage is so good! Great pricing for a really great selection of fresh AYCE foods and a must try if you haven’t been.

The beef skewers had this slimy substance around them and it didn’t go away no matter how long I cooked them. They were boiling for about 25mins and still the slimy mess stayed. Had to stop eating after that. Soup bases were good, tho and so were the premium meats. They also don’t have any chicken skewers for the hot pot so I was disappointed in that.
