Worth the wait, definitely worth the wait!!! The best pancakes I've ever tried, really! They have breakfast and brunchy items. Cute little atmosphere but busy, so come early or get on the waitlist! Some items take longer to make, like the Apple Pancake Special so keep that in mind. We've bought 4 of their signature mugs, check them out!
This spot has been around since 1958, and the building has been around since the 1800s. It's a great breakfast stop, especially if you're headed into Disneyland, which is close by. All servings are good-sized portions, and you'll have some of the thickest, most delicious bacon you've ever tasted, and of course, the pancakes are tasty. This spot gets busy going into the weekends. Early midweek mornings are chill. If you like a spot with history, accompanied by good people, food, and service, definitely stop by. Chances are, I may see you there, bon appe'tit!
Great place for breakfast food. We all got pancakes. I had the blueberry pancakes with the compote. Delicious. They also have Gluten-free friendly pancakes that my daughter raves about. The atmosphere is a little crowded and there is a fair amount of background noise, but it's not too bad. Also, the wait can be lengthy, so check online before you go. We checked in on line and the wait was about 2 hours on a Sunday morning. Which worked fine for us.
All the food was good (I’m a “a little bit of yours” kinda gal but I had the German and it was the BEST!! I haven’t had food like that since dining with the Amish. Our waitress was so kind and funny, and I loved the atmosphere.
Came down here from Connecticut and wanted to take some family down here out to eat, waited no less than 5 minutes for a table, Food was beyond good and took not even 10 minutes for food for 3. Place is full and our waiter was still attentive to our drinks being full and was patient with me for being indecisive cause everything sounded so good honestly 10/10 will come here again in the future! Thank you guys so much for the food!
COME HUNGRY! literally on an empty stomach cause portions are the size of the plates. Steak and eggs was yummy, the meat quality was good and cooked to a crunch. Pancakes are soft n moist. Chorizo omelet can be shared. Great portions for the price. You can add ur name ahead of time n check in when you arrive. Service was great!!
Absolutely amazing!!! Our sever, Jesus, was super nice. He went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our time here. The food was excellent and the portions were very generous. I was skeptical about this place, especially the great reviews because I’ve been to places where the restaurants have great reviews but when I try them I leave very disappointed, but not here. I was actually in the mood for a breakfast burrito but they don’t sell burritos, so I ordered a veggie omelette, which was excellent. I will definitely come back. Thank you again Jesus for making our breakfast more enjoyable.
I live almost an hour away from this place, but it was worth a drive to get a Dutch baby pancake. I’ve been to a few of these pancake houses and no one makes it like they do. It’s just heavenly with a huge plate of lemons and powdered sugar which I know sounds weird if you haven’t had it before, but it’s absolutely a special treat it tasted amazing 🤩
I was skeptical, not going to lie. Reddit lead me here when i was looking for the best hash browns in Orange County. when we pulled up on Sunday morning around 12pm, it was packed which is a great sign. we waited about 35 minutes before we were seated in a back area with 4 tables total. hash browns were worth it 👌🏽 i got mine extra crispy. i prefer a thinner hash brown so that it's at about 50-75% crisp, so this was a bit thick for me and too much soft potato inside. not taking a star for that cause it's a preference thing. someone is going to think it's the greatest hash brown ever cause it's already close for me. omelettes were delicious. they were more frittata than omelette as it was served open faced, but no complaint. it was delicious.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Original Pancake House in Anaheim is definitely worth visiting! The food was absolutely delicious — especially the 49er pancake, which was light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Everything we ordered had that classic, comforting, traditional taste that keeps you coming back. The service was amazing — friendly, attentive, and quick, which really made the experience even better. Parking can be a little tricky. There’s some space on the side, and if it gets tight you might have to park next door by the school, but it’s manageable and definitely worth it once you’re inside. Overall, this place is a gem: great food, great service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. If you’re craving traditional, hearty breakfast done right, this is the spot!
Cravings fixed! Our last visit was pre-Covid & restaurant renovation which was back in March 2019 according to my last Yelp check-in. Party of 2 @ 12nn Aside from the restaurant renovations which, btw, turned out great! Open-concept dining and plenty of parking spots! We ordered the usual, German Pancakes, of course! It’s still just as good as we remember. The Swedish pancakes (3 pcs) came with lingonberry and we also ordered a side of bacon and eggs! Everything was perfect! The staff were super busy yet very attentive. They’re always making sure your coffee stays fresh and hot as you enjoy your meal. I’m so glad we were able to squeeze the time during our 2025 Annual Inspire Magic Key Disneyland (end of the year) visit! :P
I could have been going here for years but didn't ...damn ! Excellent Irish Omelette and German pancake . If you go here look for their specialty stuff . I haven't done the apple pancake but that's next. Their bacon is also fantastic, clearly not what you typically get at a breakfast place. OJ is fresh squeezed and worth the squeeze.
Ray Y was likely the best server we have ever had. All of the staff went above and beyond. This was likely the best breakfast we have ever had. The Hawaiian pancakes and blueberry pancakes were out of this world. The biscuits and gravy were possibly the best I’ve ever had. Seriously. The gravy is outstanding. Even the steel cut oats were my favorite ever. So good. This place is incredible. We just had to buy a couple of the coffee mugs to remember the place by. Worth the trip all the way from Arizona!!!
Wow this place is worth the wait. It's super busy because its super delicious. Now I don't like to talk I'll of the usual chain breakfast joints because I enjoy them too. But with that said, wow, wow, wow, there stuff is truly top notch. There bacon large think and with meat on it. There eggs well seasoned, there pancakes so soft and fluffy. The gigs in a blanket with there powered suger and wonder coffee top quality. I recommend you reserve a table. So, if your ever in the Anaheim area its a must go. Look at my photos if you question my thoughts. Like always my brothers and sisters feed your food souls and God bless.
I definitely recommend putting your self on the waitlist prior to arriving, since it’s a well known restaurant it gets pretty full. The service was great as well as the atmosphere. All of the food we ordered was delicious, the pancakes are very flavorful, even the gluten free pancakes are delicious ( sometimes gluten free pancakes have a grainy sour aftertaste, these don’t ) the bacon is thick and cooked to perfection. One thing I enjoy from restaurants is the coffee, and this coffee was definitely one of my favorites.
The food and service in this restaurant stand up to the name: Original=Best This one is in our top three breakfast restaurants/diners. Everything that was served up was outstanding in flavor, texture, and preparation. Our server Martha was excellent, focused on customer satisfaction, enthusiastic, and kept our coffees topped off and our table clean. We visited on a Sunday right after the morning rush. There was a 10-minute wait, but it's not bad at all when you're about to have one of the best classic American breakfast experiences in your life.
Had the country fried steak and eggs came with 3 pancakes, with a side of hash browns. It was all so good. Service was splendid. Table next to us got the apple pancake, it looked huge and smelled so good. Next time I'll go for apple pancake. Went back for the apple pancake, it was bomb! It did take a while to cook, so keep that in mind when ordering. But the wait was worth it! The bacon is really good aswell!!
Nice place for breakfast!! Had a short wait of 5 minutes for a table. They really exceed Our expectations!! The pancakes are fluffy, rich and filling with many kinds to choose from. Our dishes were plentiful, hot and really good!! Very quick service, super friendly, and very clean!! We enjoyed everything we had!
My family loves this Original Pancake House.\nThe German pancake is the best! Bacon is top notch.
Amazing food and the staff is very nice. Waiting time sometimes is not good. But is worth it.

Very good pancakes and waffles, ton of selections. A little bit pricey. Parking is easy if you arrive early. Nice people and cozy environment.
I would come back for the chicken fried steak anytime. The pancakes and waffles where nothing special. They were good but that's the whole reason to go. I would if I was in the area. But nothing to go out of you way for.
Charming atmosphere, but bring your wallet The Original Pancake House definitely has that nostalgic, old-school charm that makes for a fun morning out. It’s clearly a local favorite because it was packed and buzzing with energy when I visited. The Logistics: Be aware that parking can be a little tight if you arrive during peak hours, and because the restaurant isn't very large, you should expect a bit of a wait for a table. However, I was impressed by how efficiently they run things—the line actually moves rather quickly. The Food & Value: While the experience is great, the prices feel a bit steep for breakfast. Paying nearly $20 for an egg omelet and almost $17 for the famous 49er Flapjacks is hard to justify, even with the classic atmosphere and solid service. For me, the quality of the food and the price point don't quite match up. It’s a wonderful spot for a nostalgic treat or a special morning out, but just be prepared for a bill that feels a bit high for the standard fare.
It's worth going once.. presentation of food is unique, service was great and everyone who works here is super professional and extremely polite. You also get a TON of food, so the price per pound is good. Other than that the food was just okay, atmosphere and employees salvaged the breakfast.
The omelettes were a little bland, but good. The pancakes were yummy (of course) and the coffee was actually decent. Our waitress was excellent. However, seating wasn't as kind for the disabled. We had to wait much longer than they told us until I pointed out how we were being passed by. They seated us within 10 mins after mentioning this. Thank you.

Overall, I was disappointed with this place considering how much we paid. The food didn’t live up to expectations—it wasn’t terrible, but definitely not worth the price. Honestly, you could get better-tasting food at a fast-food restaurant for much cheaper. The service was decent, but it felt like the staff might have been overwhelmed, and the overall organization was a bit chaotic. If you're really hungry, this place will do the job, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again.
I wish this was an actual food review but unfortunately, I didn't get that far. I came in with a party of 5 and was told the wait was 15 minutes. 30 minutes into the wait I approached the hostess…
