Opinions de Pita Pitaki Anaheim
My family and I have eaten at many different Greek restaurants all over town as well as different cities. Pita Pitaki surpasses them all in quality, taste, and customer service. They have the freshest salads, their portions are incredibly generous, and their food is truly delicious authentic Greek food. Highly recommend.
Great place for a quick lunch. Terrific food, generous portions at a reasonable price and the service was outstanding.
We have been here several times, but this trip has been our favorite. We ordered the Gemista (stuffed green pepper and tomato) and a Greek version of falafel, Revithkeftedes. Both were amazing (and vegetarian!) We also usually like getting the avgolemono, which is a lemony chicken soup with rice.
This is a pleasant surprise. I like Greek food and I was looking for a quick bite tonight. This restaurant is located in a mini mall on North West corner of Cherry and Wardlow, very easy to miss. The Lamb Gyro is good. This side dishes are also good. I will go back and try something else again.
This place gets five stars for everything. Food is delicious and portions are generous, staff is friendly and accommodating, service is always great. The atmosphere is inviting, fun, and relaxed. I no longer live in the area, and I still drive over 30 minutes to eat here.
This is a real Greek restaurant, with the two busy chefs behind the counter speaking in Greek to each other as they quickly whip out the most delicious Greek food at a very affordable price. It is easy to miss, sandwiched in the middle of a small strip mall at the corner of Cherry and Wardlow. The entrance is actually behind the building, at the parking lot. I decided to finally stop there today for lunch and am so glad I did. I played it safe for my first time and got their lunch special, a lamb gyro pita with Greek salad and soda fountain drink for $14. I got it to go, but when I saw the mouth-watering meal, I couldn't wait and so I sat down and ate it there at one of their shady outside tables. The meal could feed 2 people! You get a delicious, overstuffed gyro pita with a mound of tender savory strips of lamb gyro, tomatoes, onions, tzatziki sauce, topped with a few seasoned fries, and a big Greek salad with huge chunks of feta, and flavorful Greek dressing on the side. I will definitely be back to try some of the more adventurous items on their menu. It is a relaxed, casual place with both indoor and outdoor tables and free parking. A neighborhood gem! Follow up: Finally tried their Moussaka, got it to go. No surprise, it was delicious!! Comes with grilled bread, a chunk of feta in olive oil, and a Greek salad. The Moussaka was so big and filling I had to put the Greek salad in the fridge for later.
I'm Greek originally and I just had the pleasant surprise to taste the food here for the first time yesterday. A friend recommended it and wanted my "expert" opinion. I was thouroughly impressed with the authenticity of the food and the great flavors. Can't wait to go back soon :). Great atmosphere and service too. Bravo pedia! Sinxaritiria :).
A very pleasant find close to the Long Beach airport . Very authentic Greek food and extremely fast service . The staff was attentive and kind and the plates came out super fast . I ordered three dishes to try : Calamari, spicy feta dip and pork gyros wrap . All were very good . The pork gyros is the closest I have had outside of Greece ! ***Update May 2024*** Came back to Long Beach on business and had to stop here again This place is just amazing . Got the chicken gyros plate this time and it was fantastic : just like the gyros in Athens (see new photo ) Do not miss the opportunity to stop in at this very authentic Greek restaurant
I eat here at least 2 to 3 times a month and I love this place. They did mess my order up last time, but that was the second time in years but other than that oh my gosh, it’s so fresh they’re salad dressing so good and they were so nice and they said next time I come in though hook me up because they made a mistake on the order and he really really really felt bad about it.
Hiden gem that has a good following. Do not be fooled by the simple informal prémisses this place has amazing food. The reviews that this is authentic food are not overdone, this is a rare find not only in LA but on the west coast as one needs to look for fine dining choices to get this close. The diversity of dishes will be a surprise if you are expecting a pita shop, this is not your run of the mill Gyro store.
Love it here! Nice little place. Food is excellent. Service is awesome. Everything tastes amazing. Try the gyro lunch plate. You'll love it.
Best traditional Greek restaurant in Long Beach. I live in the neighborhood and Pita Pitaki is the only Greek restaurant that doesn't Americanize their flavors for the masses. I recently tried their lamb shank with orzo and it's truly cooked to perfection. The shank was rich and tender. The spices used is just enough to season the dish without covering the flavor of the lamb, letting the rich meatiness come through. On other visits, I have had other more accessible dishes like moussaka, gyro, and kabobs, and Pita Pitaki doesn't disappoint on any of those. As a bonus, the food is very reasonably priced.
We loved this place! We had the gemista plate which consists of a tomato and a green pepper staffed with rice and spices and it comes with potatoes, bread and a generous piece of feta cheese. It was delicious and very filling! We also had giouvetsi (lamb shank) that comes with orzo, bread and feta cheese which we also loved. In addition we had a salad, spanakopita and a pork gyro wrap which was one of the best I had in the US! Totally recommend this place for great authentic food and generous portions!
Greek food is my favorite and this place was recommended to me by a Greek friend of mine who owns a restaurant. Who better, I figured. And Pita Pitaki did not disappoint! Everything was soooo good! My party of three ordered the meses plate as the appetizer - it has dolmades, keftedes, spanakopita, gigantes, feta cheese & olives, yogurt sauce and pita bread. Our e trees were pastitsio, lamb chops and shrimp kalamaki. Dessert was kourabiedes. It was so delicious, we placed an order for takeout: avgolemono (my favorite Greek soup) and baklava. Can’t wait to have it! Bottom line: Tiny place in a strip mall - a hidden gem! Friendly service, with hospitality that feels like you’re entering a Greek home (and I’d know because I “grew up” in the home of a best friend whose parents are Greek immigrants). Everything we ordered was delicious!
Excellent Greek place with all of the musts! It is a good location for dine in or takeaway. The food is really good quality, and they have all of the dishes you would want. What I like is that they are set up for counter order, but the food is restaurant quality or better. The price is decent too, you can have lunch for ~$15, so not bad at all.
Fresh food! Great taste, great service. Was just what we needed. Got the falafel plate. The hummus and pita was great, the falafel was fresh, salad was well dressed and very refreshing, and the potatoes were really good. the salad and potatoes were my favorite part. The veggie kabob was nice too!
Delicious food at decent prices! I can’t wait to try everything on the menu. I’ve only been here twice—for take out—but I look forward to coming here many times to come!
What a gem of a place. Everything is wonderful here. Highly recommend village salad and dip sampler. You will not be disappointed!
This review is all about the gyro. Everything else is just background noise. I’m in LA for work, and on the rare occasion I get a day off, I go on the noble quest for an amazing gyro sandwich. So far, it’s been a tragic tale of disappointment—dry meat, limp pita, tzatziki that tastes like regret. But today… today was different. I walked into this place, ordered a traditional pork gyro (not the typical lamb you see everywhere), and my life got at least 17% better. The meat? Generous and juicy. Onions and tomatoes? Fresh. A sprinkle of paprika? Haven’t seen that level of culinary confidence in years. And the tzatziki sauce? Absolute perfection—creamy, garlicky, and exactly what Zeus himself would drizzle over ambrosia. Now, these gyros come with French fries inside them. I don’t know what it is with Californians shoving fries into perfectly fine sandwiches, but I’m a purist. I told them “no fries inside,” because I like my carbs like I like my friends—close by, but not smothering me. Don’t get me wrong, I had fries on the side (and they were great), but they don’t belong in the gyro. I’m not starting a war here, I’m just saying your ancestors didn’t fight off empires so you could put potatoes in everything. The place itself is small—eight tables inside, a few outside—but it’s cozy. The staff? Top notch. They clearly care that you’re happy and fed, which is becoming rarer than a parking spot in LA. If you’re looking for a dang good gyro, this is the place. I just hope I have time to come back before heading home, because my taste buds are already drafting the petition.
A very casual simple place. Food is incredible! Everything so fresh and tasty... real deal! Highly recommend trying!
Amazing flavors. Shows shows the true taste of Mediterranean food. Anyone want to see what a good gyro tastes like.. come here! Try the Ekmek Kataifi.... Thank me later!! ☺️
Super authentic, so very delicious, My waiter/cashier was Christina⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ill definitely be coming back🤤
The pork gyro is competing with the best I ate in Greece. Same thing about the tzatziki dip and their bread. Next time, I'll add more...
Went on a weekend and got the Lamb Gyro Pita with fries & drink. Fifteen bucks for the combo but it stands out in three particular areas: 1) The gyro meat and tzatziki sauce were seasoned perfectly hearty, 2) fries were seasoned accordingly, and 3) they give you big portions. Doubt you'll leave here hungry. Cannot recommend this place enough if you're looking for a Greek Gyro.
I love this place hands down it's the best Greek Mediterranean spot I know west of Greece! 😉 I cannot get enough of their food so much so that I have to try something new every time I visit Pita Pitaki. I usually get the chicken kabobs and an order of their feta fries. When we went in we had a few different entrees we ordered and every seemed very pleased with their food selection. The feta cheese is some of the best and softest cheese I've ever had along with the oil and sprinkles of herbs on top. I will definitely bring my loved ones back to this place so they can experience the goodness we have here in Long Beach at Pita Pitaki!
So let me start by saying, that I am originally from Chicago. So I know a good gyro when I get one. This spot is hands down the best gyro spot I have personally tried in all of socal. It literally beats the breaks off of all the more bougie gyro spots in Lbc/LA. The teziki is super fresh and delicious, as I'm a (teziki s1ut lol) ;) The fries are seasoned to perfection, the pita is always soft and tastes very fresh. And the meat. Omg, the lamb gyro is so good. I eat myself full sick, cause I can't stop myself from picking at it after I'm already full. That also leads me to my last thought on the food. The portions are very generous. The gyro combo is enough for two meals. If you can stop yourself from eating the whole thing. Hahaha. Literally I can not say enough good things about this place. If you haven't been, all I can say is GOOO! It's a hidden gem. Now let's get into the service. I've been probably around 5-10 times now. However, by my second time ordering over the phone for pick up. The awesome green haired girl Sophia already recognized my voice and my order. She always has a bright smile and is very welcoming and friendly! And her right hand girl Christina, is on point putting together the orders and making it happen for the customer. Seriously. I can't rave enough about this place. You are missing out if you haven't been there yet!
Wow so good! And so friendly! It was my bf's and I first time trying Mediterranean food. Although we did get a little intimidated by the menu on how to understand the names, we are glad we still tried it! It was delicious and the employees were so friendly, we sat outside and one of the girls helped by turning on an outdoor ceiling heater. Very good food and service!
This place is fabulous! Food was delish! The customer service was on point! They took the time to explain what items had ingredients that I was allergic to. The young man who took the orders was friendly and even checked to make sure our food was okay. This is a place I definitely will be revisiting, as there are many things on the menu that I must try!!!
This is by far the best Greek food in SoCan at this price point. I highly recommend the octopus and the village salad. Their pita bread is incredible too. Very nice staff and a cute setting.
So glad to have found this place while searching for another! Friendly people/place, authentic Greek food and a good variety on the menu. We shared a spanikopita, calamari, mousakka {Greek lasagna}, and a lamb chop plate. My honey got the baklava and I got custard pie {sadly I don't remember how to spell the right name}! Everything was delicious and tasted authentic and traditional Greek 😋 we will be making this our go to Greek restaurant! Thank you 😊

What a gem. This is the kind of fast casual that LBC, and frankly many other places need. Incredible food, incredible staff, reasonable prices, and good portions. Food is always fresh, perfectly seasoned and on point. The staff go out of their way to make sure you feel taken care of and valued. Shout out to Sophia and the two handsome gentleman, whose names escaped me 🙃. Good vibes, great food! Will be back, again & again.

The service was indeed quite good. The wait times for the food were reasonable. The staff members were very pleasant. The food was absolutely delicious. The prices seemed fair. I would certainly consider returning for some excellent Mediterranean cuisine.
Here is my opinion about my experience on March 22, 2023. Let’s start off by saying that Mediterranean food is one of the most OPINIONATED foods for some reason. Either you really like it or you say, “it’s not like back home” or, “ it’s not authentic”. Whatever man, if it tastes great, just admit it. Taste - my fiancé had the 1/2 chicken w/ rice and she loved it. That is her go to plate and she liked the texture and taste of the chicken as well as the calamari app that we ordered. I had the keftedes and also orders the honey feta (we always order the honey feta), the honey feta is nothing too special but we like the sweet/salty start to our meal. The calamari was tender and evenly seasoned. My keftedes were a bit too rich in flavor, kind of salty but I liked it. Also the tszaziki was a bit salty too somehow? I wish that the veggie kabob that accompanies the plates were freshly grilled when it comes out, kissed by the fire. The pita was great, soft and not chewy. The rice on the plate wasn’t hot enough for me and slightly under flavored. Customer Service - today, customer service was on point, more so than other bigger, famous restaurants tend to offer. Christina made us feel welcomed and kept checking in on us to see if we were ok. Price - prices are a bit inflated just like everywhere else but the serving size was big enough. In conclusion, I come here from time to time when I can or get the urge to eat Mediterranean. I say try it out and find which meal you like instead of acting like Armando Cruz who negatively spoke about this place while recommending his opinion of a “better” Mediterranean spot. Make your own review, try all sorts of places! Cheers!

Everything is great with the exception of the falafel. Falafel is basically hummus patty instead of falafel. Goopy on the inside. Also hummus is pretty bland as well. Both hummus and falafel need to be updated. Meat is good. Salad and rice are good.

Here is the latest update 3.10.23 on this place. The good: Taste of food is still great. The bad: Small place with a mediocre atmosphere and customer service. The ugly: I am not sure what happened to this place when it comes to customer service as it took a dive from 5 stars to 2. Customer service is horrible, and you get little acknowledgement when you come in. It seems delivery service gets a priority over in person so you feel unappreciated. There is a lady (possible owner) that shows interest and greets people but her efforts are not enough. I would recommend going to George's greek cafe located about 3 miles away in the Lakewood shopping mall area as that is a high caliber type of restaurant.
Rude staff. I asked for a couple things to be left off my salad and instead add extra olives. I was not told olives would be an extra charge. I asked to remove the extra since I was not expecting a $2 extra fee. The girl with the green hair removed all but one with her bare hands, no glove. I asked if the salad comes with olives they said it comes with 1 olive! They shouldn’t say olives then since it’s only one. That is ridiculous! The girl at the front with green hair was also super rude about it. Bad attitude. Will not come here again.
I have been a faithful customer since they opened. I used to come at least once every week. It was one of my favorite restaurants in Long Beach. I liked the food and before what happened tonight, I was very happy with their customer service. I ordered a lamb gyro. While I was eating it, I felt at least three times that I was biting a very hard piece of unknown origin. I mentioned unknown because lamb is supposed to be soft. I opened the gyro and found a couple of burnt lamb slices. I mean, totally burnt to the extent that they were not eatable. I felt extremely disappointed that Pita Pitaki dared to serve me two slices of beef that belonged in the trash can and not in my gyro. I felt insulted and disrespected. Whoever made the gyro clearly noticed that what he was putting in my gyro was pure garbage. There's no excuse for what he did. It was obvious that the slices of burnt lamb were left in my gyro on purpose. Most likely the person who made the gyro assumed that I would enjoy eating a piece of garbage. I am extremely disappointed with their quality control and inadequate customer service. A couple of times in the past I got cold fries and very hard fries in my gyro and now another big disappointment. After being coming to Pita Pitaki since they opened, I have decided not to come back. I would rather drive an hour to Papa Cristo in L.A. and have a great meal that I am 100% sure I won't regret. It is a great Greek restaurant in which food quality is the main priority.
