Super Mex Rules! I’ve been going heee since 1988 and although it has grown a semi fancy bar, the food remains completely delicious. Staff is always extremely welcoming, attentive and friendly.

All the staff are very nice. You can tell the food is fresh and hand made like my mom and my grandma make. No rolled tacos from frozen they actually hand roll them. I'll definitely be returning. I didn't get a chance to try the margaritas but they looked really good too!

Pretty crowded, but didn't wait long for a seat. Very attentive waiter - kept the chips and salsa coming! Unfortunately when he brought our order it was beef instead of the chicken we ordered :( He apologized and quickly had the right food prepared for us, then sent the other orders home with us. Mistakes happen and he made it right! We enjoyed our chicken and our kids had the beef for lunch the next day :)

Happy hour bartender at this location is on point. Great at noticing what you need, quick, efficient and somehow still seems super friendly. Many years ago I was looking for the best wet chicken burrito in town and this place still holds the crown. If I am going to Target around happy hour, I have to have a couple margaritas first.

Server Nancy and Manager Bill are absolutely amazing. We love it here. We sit on the patio and the kids can be free to be a little loud. This is our favorite Sunday place! We highly recommend. Bottomless mimosas!!!!

The food is outstanding and the service is great. I have a positive experience each time I visit. The guacamole Tostada bowl is a huge plus on the menu and I highly recommend it.

We had a great time. It was not too crowded and we were seated immediately. Our server came right away and was very nice and professional. I had the Albondigas (meatball) soup. It has carrots, chayote, celery, potatoes and a delicious broth. It like to add the side of rice for a nominal extra fee and put the rice in the soup. If it is too spicy that tones down the heat. It comes with tortillas and is a generous serving. I brought some home. My Mom and my friend had the shredded chicken bowls. It has rice and beans with the chicken on top. They both took some home. The chips and salsa are good. The service was prompt and attentive. The person who delivered the food did not ask us if everything was ok. I called her and I think she sent our server back to us. My friend had asked for cheese on her bowl and it was left off. The server brought a large side of cheese and our meals were delicious!

We had excellent service tonight! I hadn't been here in years and forgot how good the food was! I had the mini chimi's and did the 2 beef and 2 chicken. I liked both but if I had to pick one over the other, I think the chicken had a slight edge over the beef. Overall, a perfect evening!

I love this place not only because it's Mexican the people work here they are Mexican absolutely wonderful service and it should be very proud of their service and help that they do for the customers

10 stars for Super Mex! My favorite thing about this restaurant is the service. Carlos is an angel. He is always working to clear our table, making sure our chips and soda never runs out and that our order is made correctly. He is the nicest guy- always has a smile and is cheerful no matter how long his shift is. Leika is the best server on the planet. She is efficient, kind and always gets our order right. She takes her time to get to know her customers and makes sure every customer is happy. She is an absolute delight. Nancy is another absolutely amazing server and makes sure all of her customers are 100% taken care of. She is very sweet and quick. The food is delicious and is perfect for a lunch date. This restaurant is excellent, priced well and has top notch service.

We were seated right away and asked for a well lit area and we were seated right next to window. Our waitress, Rommy, was pleased and attentive. Good food. I had a cheese quesadilla with added shredded chicken from appetizer menu, thinking it would be small and it was huge and good. My husband had two shredded beef tacos with rice and beans and said the tacos were really good.

Top notch Happy Hour. Authentic tortillas for chips. Burritos with meat! If you're looking for some casual Mexican food and don't want to pay a lot, come here. Reasonable price for what you get. Bar is packed on Friday. For good reasons. Margaritas 🍹 can go toe to toe with any of the fancy places but without the extra money. Don't change your formula and I will keep coming!!!

We haven't been here in over a year (don't know why). Orange County is allowing indoor dining which is a relief so we took advantage of that. The place is very clean, the food is delicious and the staff is superb. Great salsa and chips by the way, the corn tortillas are full size and you break them up. The only problem we had was the menu is printed in very small font so don't forget your glasses 👍🤓

Overall experience is great. Sat at the bar and ordered Happy Hour items and was impressed. Basic hard shell tacos but price and service were top notch. Will definitely come back.

Got my food to go. They have a separate area for this so there is no confusion and you get the attention you deserve. The place looks like it would be enjoyable to have a sit down dinner with friends. You can see the kitchen from the take away area and it looks clean and professional.

Consistently great food! We always order #15 3 enchiladas rice and beans with tomatillo sauce. Chicken for me and cheese for hubs. I’m sure we eat here every week. Never ending free chips and salsa. Absolutely delish 🤤

Absolutely one of my favorite places to come for lunch or dinner. The chicken flautas plate is the best! The service is always good, even when it gets a bit busy, the food always comes out hot and fresh and never below my expectations.

Amazing food, drink, music, service, and overall ambiance!! The chimichangas were crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside😋. The fajitas were flavorful, the beans were nice and cheesy, the guac was amazing. Very very good food. The drinks were a bit pricy, almost $5 for a strawberry lemonade but my partner said he it was super good so he was happy. The margarita was $8 but its big and comes with chamoy and tajin so thats good. They have complimentary tostadas and salsa which are also very tasty and flavorful. I will say it is a little pricier than I was expecting but you pay for everything I just mentioned so I didn't really mind. Overall 10/10 would recommend!!

First time visit at this location. Atmosphere inside was the right place, to meet with the family to celebrate our nephews' birthday. Just got to our hotel wanted some easy food. I got the super mex burrito with marinade pork. Was quick. server was checking in not to often but more then enough to make sure everything was good. I think I will be back again.

This location is by far one of the best locations for delicious margaritas & homemade Mexican food. The OG margaritas, sizzling fajitas, and guacamole appetizers are my go to favorites! Great restaurant! Bonus it’s a Mexican restaurant. Food was great and service was even better. Rommy didn’t wait for us to ask for anything. She anticipated everything all at the right times. Food, service and atmosphere are all great. Remember the challenging times we are living in and relax if food order times or service is a bit lacking and you'll be happier overall. Dine in or takeout, the food, especially their salsa imo, is awesome. There is a dedicated parking stall for pickup orders near the entrance. If it's not available there are lots of other spaces in the large shared parking lot near Target. Please do not park along the red curb area which is for emergency vehicle use only and not for your convenience to park and pickup.

Tables have a lot of space between them. I was seated quickly, after a temperature check. Mercedes was my server, she was very nice, and very friendly. Service was great! They didn't rush us at all and we went there with friends to talk so we spent a lot time there on a Friday night. Chicken fajitas were incredible! Very tasty! Did not like there chips and salsa and that's why I gave them only 4 stars. The salsa was ok and the tostada shells to break up and put in the salsa were not good.

A good place to eat. The atmosphere is nice and the servers are friendly and attentive. Came for lunch. The shredded beef was flavorful and juicy. The carnitas burrito however wasn't as I had expected. The meat was dry and had an aftertaste to it. Very dry and not much flavor at all. Portions were decent.

Was in southern California for work and I came here because it had good reviews and was walking distance from my hotel. I received quick service and the complementary chips and salsa was good. Really good food! I had a chicken taco, shredded beef enchilada, and cheese enchilada with rice. The only thing that was not appealing was the rice. It had no taste and was very mushy. My husband had Super Mex Nachos and those were really good, too. It was a great entree in itself. We had a cheese quesadilla for an appetizer, which was also good. If they added chicken to it, I think it would be even better!

I feel like the value is fine but not great. I wish it were either 10% cheaper or the portions were 10% larger. The food is good and what you would expect for Mexican food. Nothing has blown me out of the water but nothing has been bad either. The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is perfect.

Bomb places for chips salsa and carne Asada....Beers are always cold, the bartender is top notch. My only complaint and what will stop me from coming in more frequently is the immature, rude, disrespectful, unprofessional , wana be manager who has zero clue of the restaurant buisness what so ever.....Her name is Mercedes and I call in ahead of time to see if she is working. If she is, I take my entire family somewhere else for dinner/lunch.... She is that bad.

Great food and overall experience. I've been to the whittier location and this one is so far the best. Whittier was really bad and I've heard they're not all alike. I was truly surprised as everything was great . The reception person and the bartender were amazing. The food WOW. I had the chicken enchiladas with rice and beans. I have to say the requirement for a good Mexican restraunt are the rice and beans . You NAILED IT they were both really good. Everything afterthat was just Damm good. Drinks were awesome . Perfect mixture and presentation . Will be going back for sure.

Nice Mexican restaurant with a bar area with TV screens to watch a game. There's Spanish music playing in the back ground to make the mood. We were seated immediately by the hostesses, given a menu and our drink order was taken right away. I ordered a Jr burrito green chili pork and rice beans. It was pretty big for a Jr. Burrito was excellent with melted cheese and green chillis and sauce all over the top along with a choice of sour cream or guacamole. Staff was very kind at first but lacking in attention towards the end we waited for our check for too long maybe they got busy .There's plenty of parking out front. Restrooms needed attention as they were emitting a bad sewer smell and it did need cleaning for this I'm dropping a star. But I'm willing to stop in again when I'm in the area since the burrito was excellent, hopefully by then they're restrooms get addressed.

$6 for 3 tacos! Cant beat that! It hit the spot and was so good! I got the Al pastor one and yum! \nService was also good, thank you for all the lunches you provide!

Their chicken tacos are good and have nice flavor and the mini chimichangas are good also but they are not great. The crispy tacos are almost always soggy on the bottom, the salsa tastes very watered down, the fajitas lack flavor at all and the chicken bowl is also flavorless. This is all topped off by the service being very spotty. On the best day you will get someone who gets your order correct and will get you your drinks and food in a good timely manner, but as far as checking on if u need anything, or any other help offered for anything, don't count on it. Not a great place but it has some lights that flicker in the dark

Used to frequent SuperMex weekly. It's been a few years at this location, placed an order for pickup. Disappointed in my chicken tostada. It was only flat tostada shell, chicken and lettuce. No more cheese, taco sauce and tomatoes. Don't think we will be back. I understand cut backs but this is ridiculous.

Cute place but really hit or miss on the food quality. Some days it is on point and others it is sub par at best. Example, last night we had the carne asada, the meat was hard to eat. Super dry and tough, the tortillas were dried out, and the rice was dry. Seemed like an off day or maybe we went too close to closing but definitely not a great experience for that product. My husband’s meal was good though and fairly aligned with the normal outside of the sweet corn tamale that was also dry. The servers are always really nice and friendly though so the experience overall isn’t bad, it is just the food quality that swings frequently.

The least authentic tasting food from Mexico you can find. Still haven't found a Super Mex that lives up to its name. Weak margaritas as well.

Ordered a chicken quesadilla, extra crispy. Got the extra crispy part right, but the chicken had no real flavor. The salsa that came with the chips (which were really whole fried corn 🌽 tortillas) was tomatillo. When I asked if they had red salsa, she said it's either red or green, depending on the tomatoes they get. Seems like they could make both. Anyway, the rocks Classic Margarita was very good 🙂. Maybe next time it's just the bar.

Ok so i came to this restaurant to try the food, it was my first time here, but i always see this place on my way home, so i decided to stop by and order some enchiladas and a steak plate, the food looks amazing and they serve a big portion, but to me from scale from 1 to 10 will give them a 6, look good but was like no flavor at all, don't give me wrong they serve big portions but to me there was nothing especial, no flavor at all, the beer was amazing and big, but i was expecting something more delicious, i literally can compare this food as god as any little Mexican restaurant that you can find at any corner. Went in last week, our server was an older woman about 35-40 and she was bothered/unattentive. A large group arrived behind us (regulars, they greeted every employee by name) and she suddenly became extremley attentive.. To them... They got 3 rounds of drinks while we waited a good while for our food and we had to go look for our server bc she would forget us. When we did get her attention she began taking our order and she legot walked to the regulars table to have a conversation. I was baffled 😮 HORRIBLE service on her behalf. She missed out on our tip after so many fails to reverse what she had done. The food was good. IMO theres better/more authentic dishes they could serve, its mostly burritos and tacos

We were a large party, so for the food to take a while is fine. But our server was slow with the drinks, forgot one, was reminded twice, then we canceled and just asked for a soda, which also took reminding. Food took about an hour to come out and it was mostly fine. Nobody loved their food, but we all ate it without complaint. Really it just comes down to the service. For the price there are a lot of better options. Had I known this place was a chain, I would have lowered my expectations. Even then, it was still pretty bad.

Use to be very good. But quality has gone down some as it seems like they are using cheaper ingredients. Red sauce for burrito has no flavor anymore. Way to expensive now. I usually love coming here customer service is always great except for tonight I met another waitress I didn’t get her name but she has black hair she had it in a low bun. She’s more on the shorter side. Throughout the whole time that I was there I needed a few things And she was nowhere to be found she was really busy helping other tables I think she forgot about me she came back to ask if I needed anything once she realized that I was being helped by other waitresses. Then I was trying to pay my bill but again she was nowhere to be found. So I went up to pay for my bill then she realized I think it was her manager was helping me so she walked up with her manager to give me the change I think she was expecting a tip but I’m huge on customer service. Maybe she was too busy to take care of another table. I love to tip but I don’t even think she tried to serve me because she was all over the place. The tostadas were super stale and not tasty at all I asked if she could change them but she said that that’s all they had. I enjoyed the food very much though ❤️

Been coming here for years. After tonight, never again. First off, they brought us a tiny cup of salsa for all four people in our party as they took our order. The waiter never came back so we could ask for more. I never got silverware. My food came, still no silverware. Waiter never came back so I could ask for silverware. I went to the hostess desk (where they keep the silverware) to ask for a fork and knife. He said they ran out of clean silverware and the batch in the dishwasher would be done in a few minutes. And my dinner just got colder and colder. Still, the waiter never came back to check on us. He finally came back to bring our check. Boy has this place gone downhill.

SM has always been mediocre food with substandard service. But shrinking portions, increased prices and now credit card fees, I can’t continue to support this business. Consumer price gouging won’t improve until we stop supporting these resterants. Nachos, a beer and a poorly made margarita shouldn’t cost $40+

We have literally eaten at the Lakewood and Fullerton location hundreds of times over the past 30+ years. WE ARE DONE! The food quality is so inferior now compared to how it used to be and, of course, the prices have skyrocketed. This time I ordered the #15 3 enchilada plate. I told the server that last time there was very little sauce on top. This time there was so much sauce you could only see the rice. Not the enchiladas or the beans. It was awful! Also, the ground beef had a weird taste and I couldn't eat it. Didn't want to get sick. Really should have sent the plate back. For dinner I basically ate the rice and chips. The food ordered by my friends was also subpar. Again we have eaten here forever so we know what the food should taste like. There are so many choices for Mexican food. Sorry Super Mex but we are done. My friend has personally known the owner for years. I really think that they should pay attention to this feedback.

Experience was great until the waitress went after us outside of the restaurant and embarrassed us by shouting we didn’t pay when it was a tech issue on their end. Super unprofessional. It’s really easy to be kind to people.

My burrito was not well proportioned my dad who got a three item combo was pretty disappointed with his plate and freshness the plate was so hot like it was in the microwave I burned my hand and wasn't told it was scolding.

BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD!! Went to eat with my wife and kids, food was good, service was ok since the waitress would disappear for a while. What really bothered me the most was when I paid the bill. When I asked for the bill, one of the waitress brought us the bill and I gave her my card. She charged the bill of the people next to us on my card. I know this was on purpose because when she brought me my receipt to sign, the amount on it was correct but I received a phone notification stating that she had charged a larger amount on my credit card already. When I confronted her, she made up a story that she had made a mistake. Be careful and always check your credit card purchases online if you can when you go to this place.

Food quality gone down in the last 2.months. Also, they ran out of Corona and Modelo the last 2 times I went. What kind of Mexican restaurant runs out of Mexican beer!?

Been going to this restaurant for years. The place is ok but a bit expensive for the quality. The last few times I’ve gone there I felt uncomfortable. Three weeks ago I recommended the place for a quick business lunch, and to be honest the staff was not rude but dismissive to three of us while doing a great job with one person in our party to the point of the others in the group commenting on the service to me. Today my wife wanted to take a friend to the restaurant for a birthday lunch. While there, my friend and wife were given great service. I was basically ignored until the check came. That was the only time I was given something promptly. It was so blatant that all through the meal my friend and I were quietly cracking jokes about it to ourselves. When we left my wife and friend were given well wishes and to come back again. I don’t think I will be going to Super Mex anymore.

If you're expecting Mexican food, don't come here. This place has a nice look to it and the staff was nice but the food makes this a two thumbs down place. Their idea of Mexican food tastes like Taco Bell or some other knock off Mexican places. If you like non-authentic Mexican food then feel free but I'm just a messenger. P.S. On top of the food being disgusting, it's overpriced. Definitely find something else.
