Delicious. Yummy. Amazing. Best ramen in town… even the toilet is nice ;)
My partner and I love ramen and have had it in many different restaurants in Seattle and San Francisco and this was as good as any we've had in any of those traditional ramen cities. J had the Miso ramen. Full of flavor but not overly salty as miso often is. I had Tan Tan. Pretty spicy and unlike any ramen I've had. It was excellent. The staff was great. Not far from the college so a decidedly younger crowd vibe. Modest selection of good beers.
Recently visited Japan and have been craving ramen very often since getting back and this place thoroughly satisfies my craving. Everything is delicious. I’ve had all the appetizers and they’re 10/10 every time. The Shoyu ramen is my go to order and it hits every time. They can get very busy (because it’s just that good) so if you’re coming with more than 2 people you may have to wait depending on time and day but it’s always worth the wait plus you can go get a drink at nearby places while you wait. I’m so happy we have a ramen bar in Arcata now and even happier that they’re absolutely crushing it. Highly recommend.
The best veggies ramen I’ve had! It’s unassuming on the outside and an absolute delight in the bowl.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Most Authentic Ramen in Humboldt Back at Susukino Ramen Bar again, and for good reason — it’s hands-down the most authentic ramen experience you’ll find in all of Humboldt. From the rich, flavorful broth to the perfectly cooked noodles and fresh toppings, everything feels straight out of Japan. The atmosphere matches the quality too — cozy, welcoming, and full of that real ramen-bar energy. If you’re serious about ramen, this is the place.
Chloe, thanks for finding me a seat at the bar during a busy Saturday night dinner rush! Jess, lovely service, thanks for helping guide me through the menu! The cannoli was a wild and delicious experience (and I’m a NY Italian) So grateful for a restaurant in Humboldt that finally can do it right!
The Tan Tan is my favorite here, the food is so fresh, delicious and my favorite ramen place in the area. I would highly recommend this place for a lunch or dinner.
I tried the shoyu and let me tell you, this was the most scrumptious soup to ever grace my tastebuds with its presence. It was so good that my soul ascended into heaven, and cried.
Great food. They were very busy so there were serving mistakes and slow ess but the entire staff did their best to cover for each other. I really enjoyed eating there.
I ordered online and picked up and paid for it. When I arrived my order was temporarily misplaced in the "cloud" the attendant quickly found it apologized and made our order quickly. Very good food, and service* my favorite ramen place
This Raman bar is incredible. Amazing staff great environment. The Ramen is the best anywhere! The best I ever had. We have had take out and dine in and both were amazing. This is one of our top pick restaurants in Humboldt. Do not miss visiting and dining. There is nothing like it, unless you were in Tokyo.
We randomly stumbled across this place and are happy we did! We initially went to a local Japanese restaurant, they had a private event and were extremely rude when we approached and asked for a table. I’m so happy they turned us away because we wouldn’t have discovered Suskino! We started with a carafe of delicious unfiltered sake and the chicken and spicy mayo appetizer, both were excellent! I had the Tan Tan Ramen and the sticky lip smacking bone broth was delicious! The staff here were exceptional, they were very welcoming and friendly. Service was amazing as was the food! We will definitely return when we are in town next time
Clean, quick food service, self order via kiosk. Very delicious! Got the Zangi appetizer followed by the Shoyu Ramen, spice level 1. Must come back. Absolutely delicious!
Very friendly staff! And very delicious — specifically 3/4 ramens can be vegan. Highly flavorful! Be careful with the spice — I got a level 2 and it was spicy — was grateful I didn’t get more but to be fair my spice tolerance is low.
Delicious food! I highly recommend the zangi, cucumber salad, tan tan ramen, and miso ramen. That is every item I’ve ever had here and they were all exceptional. The atmosphere is great as well, a really nice space! I was so glad when this place opened and have been going regularly ever since.
One of the best ramen bowls I've had in the area! I got tan tan ramen and the broth was really flavorful and the noodles had a nice texture and absorbed the broth nicely. The service and atmosphere were nice too. It was cozy but also allowed personal space to enjoy ourselves with my husband. They served Sapporo beer on tap in a very cold glass which I loved. They also have a handful of non alcoholic options. Yuzu soda tasted good. We'll definitely go back there to try different ramen or appetizers next time, if they have one. (When we went there, they didn't have apps and had ramen only which we didn't mind since we went there for ramen.)
The whole community is excited about this new restaurant… us included! We were fortunate to get seats at the bar opening night. You’d expect glitches night one but everything was fantastic from service to taste to portions. As a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised to have several delicious options. Started with the veggie gyoza that were cooked perfectly and then had the ramen with the vinegar based broth. The husband got fried chicken which he won’t stop talking about 😋 and ramen with pork. So excited for the owners and chefs here. They are new to the restaurant world but you wouldn’t know it!
Cute Ramen bar! They were very busy, so it helped to make a reservation! Their bathroom has a bidet and my friend who recently went to Japan said it instantly teleported her back to feeling like she was on vacation. The Ramen was fairly salty, but still delicious and the broth had a great flavor. We had the cheesecake for dessert and I would come back here to eat that again!
So stoked about this new ramen spot! The decor and ambiance are super fresh, such an upgrade from the way it looked back when it was Fregoso’s. Decent draught beer selection, including Sapporo and Hen House. The Zangi chicken appetizer is a must-order, and the pork gyoza were great too. We tried the Shoyu, Tan Tan and San Ran ramen, all were fantastic. I was slightly nervous about the noodles based on another review that I had seen, but they were cooked perfectly in all 3 of our dishes. The owners are super friendly, they stopped by our table to say hi, and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome and appreciated. I’m sure we will be back again and again!
Those who know me know, I love ramen. I was very excited to hear about a new place in Arcata. It did not disappoint. We each got a different ramen so we could try everything. We all ordered exactly what we wanted but mine was the best, the Shoyu was on point. Noodles, broth and the pork is the closest to ramen I’ve had in Japan. The appetizer fried chicken is an absolute must. I’m excited you are doing this in Humboldt. Keep it up!
My favorite food place on our trip! It was the perfect dish to warm us up.
The best food in arcata, very grateful that there is a restaurant that cares so much to detail and such a high quality of food. Recommend anyone that is just passing through or here to stay. I hope they are a long term staple to Humboldt cuisine!!
Susukino Ramen Bar was absolutely amazing! The staff were incredibly attentive and welcoming. They took the time to explain everything when we had questions, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, and the overall vibe was great. I’ll definitely be coming back!
The Ube Horchata cocktail was unreal! Get the truffle oil to add in your ramen; it’s worth it!
I arrived 15 minutes before opening to ensure I got a spot. While there was a slight delay in being seated, the staff quickly made up for it with excellent service. The food was delicious, and I'll definitely be back.
I got the Shoyun with pork broth. It had best Pork Belly and atijama egg that I've ever had! The pork goyza was OK,I'm used to it goyza being a little sweeter. Overall, that was the best ramen I've ever had! The bathroom has a fancy bidet, I accidentally turned it on with very high water pressure haha.

Super delicious Ramen! While ramen may appear to be a simple soup it is rarely done well. Susukino has managed to make an outstanding bowl of ramen at a reasonable price! The broth was perfect and the pork was so tender and had that unbelievably delicious smokey flavor without over powering everything else. Seriously if you're passing through or just in the mood for a warm bowl of ramen, stop and enjoy! The service is quick and friendly. Don't forget to tip them generously we did👍🏼
I ordered several ramens to go and the were delicious. They were very filling and hearty. The taste was so great you can easily see that hard work that is put into its creation. I will definitely be going back there again.
Love this place. Food is excellent! I love the Miso ramen the best. Very friendly and attentive staff. Been back several times and will continue to return.

Good fried rice, well seasoned and good ratio of pork to rice. Nice atmosphere, respectful and nice hostess. Chill vibes on the Arcata strip.
The ramen was good (yummy) but not worth the long wait and bad service. It was super frustrating to see the servers walk in front of people waiting to be seated without acknowledging them… they need to work on their operation both in service and in the kitchen. With 4 options of ramen (that are pretty similar), you would think it wouldn’t take an hour to get your food. Also we didn’t received all that we ordered :,(. Train the servers 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I want to give 4 stars for the food but there's so much to take into account! It's 100% self serve down to the forks and napkins (although a 15% min tip was reccomended). The kiosk is cool and there's a lot more ramen options than anywhere in Humboldt! The meat was yummy and crispy on the outside, broth was flavorful, but ingredient options are very limited. There's also no options for sides/appetizers. It's sooo cold in there, and the music is very... Uppity. I'll prolly come back, anyway 🤣🤣
1st time was delicious. 2nd time was delicious but gave me the bubble guts. Gave a friend the same unwanted gift. Both times I went, one of the employees took a cigarette break in the back where it was wafting in the restaurant. Ewwww gross tobacco smoke with my ramen, no thanks. Haven’t been back since
I've been here anout 7 times since May. The food is alway phenomenal. Unfortunately, today i went into the restaurant to order cause once again, their phone did not work. I live about 5 blocks away so door dash is nonsensical. I ordered my food right away. However, my name was not taken and i paid cash. Then I waited for about 40 minutes. There were many large take out orders so I assumed they were before me and thats why it was taking so long. The server who took my order finally approached me and asked if i was still waiting. I said yes, of course. She looked at another server who turned and grabbed my bag that had been sitting on the rack for about 20 minutes already. She apologized a few times but offered nothing to amend for this great oversight. I come from a time where in situations like this, you immediately offer something to compensate for a mistake. I had to reheat my food when I got home minutes after I finally received my food. Again, I love this restaurant. The food is delicious. Sadly, I experienced the bare minimum in customer service...if that's what this could even be called. Please get your phone fixed. It is 2026 and it doesnt make sense to have this issue. My name probably would have been on my order if you had a working phone.

Ordered on DoorDash for at 4:20pm, 40 mins before opening, app said it would be ready at 5:40pm. I show up, the waitress lets me know they updated the app wait time for an extra 40 min however it was not updated and I asked if they could call me when it was ready but… their phones are down so that was not an option. I’ve had issues trying to eat here before where they were closed during store hours. Waitress said I could wait or cancel the order, no other solutions offered. Not sure why my order was not prioritized as I ordered *essentially* at opening time and the restaurant was full. Disappointed to say the least.
