The best no-frills, quality neighborhood Japanese restaurant I’ve been to in LA. The Deluxe Omakase set is amazing value in LA. Sakes are so reasonably priced. Black cod miso is $18 instead of $38 (you know where) Chicken oyakodon was soft, juicy and flavorful event as a to-go. service was also excellent!

I've been coming here for years..and it's been around for generations. 1st off..the quality of the seafood is extremely high quality. The chefs are some of the best sushi chefs around. There has been a change of guards since they moved to their newer location like 10 years ago as far as operationally. Some of the old quality I think has faded in simple things like the seaweed, tofu and soup recipes. But I didn't see much else change tonight I came in. I miss mom at the door. I don't think I saw Chiba at his main station. The support staff has changed but that doesn't mean it was lacking. I love Chiba. I think it was the best LA ever had. Tonight it was great..just not awesome. But I ate alone, not at the counter and didn't get the chefs knife cutting my food. Still great.

The sushi quality here is absolutely excellent and full of flavor. My initial order was take out, which was impressive, looking forward to dining in for the full experience. Tasty special rolls!

We had a wonderful Father's Day dinner at Chiba. We always have a wonderful dinner at Chiba. We had a 5 pm reservation and were seated immediately. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We had Dinner Special Combination A Beef Teriyaki and C Salmon Teriyaki, the Salmon Teriyaki dinner, Hot Chicken Soba, a Vegetable Tempura Cut Roll, Agedashi Tofu and Nigori Sake. Chiba is always busy, so make a reservation or be prepared to wait.

I think this is my new favorite sushi spot in all of LA. There wasn't a bad item on the menu and I was surprised by how economical it was for such high quality food. I got lucky and was served by one of the best sushi chefs, Panda. He was super kind, knowledgable, and friendly. We started talking about our lives and we quickly started becoming friends. He recommended the 'Live Sweet Shrimp' and the 'Halibut Fin', both of which were probably some of the best sushi experiences I've ever enjoyed. The atmosphere is comfortable, home-style, not at all intimidating, which belies the exceptional quality of just about every dish.

We were just passing through having flown into Burbank airport, but now we'll be coming here every time we do! Impeccable service, two(!) sushi bars, and DELICIOUS food. 5 stars plus.

Our second visit to Chiba was sort of a disappointment. The service was significantly better the first time. Yesterday, it took about 30-40 minutes to bring out just one order of cucumber rolls. On the bright side, my husband’s food arrived promptly and was delicious. However, our waitress repeatedly checked in on the status of our rolls, only to receive conflicting answers. At one point, they even claimed that they had already sent them out, which was untrue and came after she had been informed that they were “working on it.”They apologized on our way out which was appreciated.

Nice and bright restaraunt. Plenty of parking. Decent service. Good menu for a variety of tastes. Decent service. I'm not sure if I would consider going back due to the location.

After reading the review of the 28 Best Sushi Spots in Los Angeles dated 1/20/2022, we went there for dinner. All sushi dishes we had are fresh with great taste. We love the patio dining. At 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, most seats are full.

This is got to be one of not so many restaurants that actually serve freshest and quality ingredients. I enjoyed it so much that I ended up stuffed myself. I ordered mostly just nigiri and an eel avo handroll and shishito as an app. My fav gotta be ikura with quail egg(must try). Their choice of toppings on sushi were a bit different from what I used to but they worked. Overall an unique taste and experience. If you like nigiri, this is the place. The service was great and my server was so polite(maybe a bit too polite cuz I couldn't really hear what he said haha) apart from that he's knowledgeable and professional. The price is a little above average but it is expected for this type of quality and service. The only reason I give 4 stars is that I found a good size fish bone on my Tai sushi. Which is understandable because it's a fish nonetheless it has bone and accident happens. I've been eating sushi for many many years now and sushi is my favorite food so I will have sushi every week or even twice a week. This is actually the first time I encountered with bone in my sushi. I hope that this doesn't happen to other customers because it might not be easy to deal with..trust me.

This place is disappointing, the service and atmosphere was nice. Staff were really kind, but high wait times ruined it. The food, was absolutely horrible. It didn’t taste like anything like sushi. The price, was $370.. everything there is overpriced yet there’s still no quality. Either eat at King burger/got sushi, or Seabutter. Those are high in quality, and you won’t regret eating them!

Some of the rolls didn't taste fresh. Tasted as if they were pre made, and all they had done was to add the toppings (Crunch Shrimp or Spicy Tuna) and served it.
