My mother and I came for lunch and we were seated immediately. Our waitress greeted us promptly and we both ordered the catfish plate (2 fillets) (lunch #1). In addition, I ordered a side salad and my mother ordered a bowl of gumbo. We both enjoyed our starters and my mother had enough gumbo to take home. Our fish came out hot and cooked crispy (like we ordered). The amount of food for lunch is plentiful and we definitely had leftovers (a good thing)! The sides - coleslaw, beans, and fries along with pickled tomatoes, okra, lemon, and onion - and don’t forget about the rolls with honey at the end! We both enjoyed our lunch and I look forward to returning to this staple in Arlington!

This is a hidden gem!!! It gives you a mom-and-pop vibe. We came midday & it was a lot more people dining in than we expected. Although it was pretty busy, we got our food fairly quickly. Our server was also very friendly!! It's an unexpected little treat!!

Great gem in Arlington, grew up here & I can't believe I have never been to this place! Went here for dinner on a weeknight with a couple of friends. Small menu, as expected when catfish is their thing, but there are still options for everyone. I didn't know know one of the friends I was with didn't like seafood, lol. This is what we had: Medium Catfish Dinner ($20) Hamburger Steak ($18) Little Sammy Special ($12) Butterfinger Pie ($7) Peach Cobbler ($9) The first two came with all three sides which were beans, coleslaw, & pickled tomatoes. The Little Sammy Special you had a choice of one of those, that was my meal & I chose the pickled green tomatoes. Excellent. Also, my three catfish strips was still a lot of fish. All our meals came with a baked potato (or fries) with sour cream & butter, then of course hush puppies. Rolls come at the end, with honey to add as you please, soft & fluffy. My friends also had the Butterfinger Pie which apparently was amazing & the peach cobbler which was pretty good too. The food takes a little while to come out, totally fine because it's cooked when ordered & clearly the fish is not sitting there. It's not greasy & honestly, just great food. Red beans were a bit bland, I tried my friends, but that's forgivable. Clean restaurant, wonderful staff & service with a cheery bright atmosphere. The host was friendly & greeted us upon arrival, then kindly thanked us as we left. Our waitress, she gives you that sweet mom vibe that just wants to take care of everyone & gets you. She was a bit older, had glasses, such a high energy. Protect her at all costs! Stop by here if you haven't already, you'll be back, I know we will!

Yesterday was my first visit to Catfish Sam’s, but it won't be my last. I've passed by this place for a while and finally stopped in with a coworker from Mississippi. Upon entering, we learned that their catfish comes from Mississippi, the catfish capital of the world. The staff and atmosphere were pleasant, and I personally prefer and enjoy Ma and Pop establishments, so it was a delightful experience. Our waitress, Melissa, was sweet and helpful; I highly recommend her. The rolls were tasty, and the food arrived quickly. The fries, hush puppies, beans, and their homemade hot sauce were all good. As someone particular about catfish (my favorite fish), I have high standards, the fillets were delicious and generously sized. Catfish Sam’s, I'm much obliged to you and y’all earned a spot in my regular rotation. I look forward to returning! 🎣 🍽️

Hands down the best place for catfish and gumbo. Their food was excellent. The catfish breading does not crumble nor is it soggy. Thee gumbo is the perfect amount of spicy. I will definitely be a regular and thee staff makes you feel so at home and they are beyond friendly. Amber was such a doll. She made our first experience one that will keep us coming back..

Love Catfish Sam's, BUT, they keep forgetting items in our orders!! We typically do pickup, since our Grandmother is not very mobile anymore, and they bundle it all up nicely for us. However, in the future, I'm going to have to start "unbundling" it to check that I've gotten the completed order. This last visit they forgot to put the extra order of hush puppies, and truthfully, their items are not inexpensive. Prices are a little high but the food is very good. We'd probably order more often if it didn't cost $70+ bucks for 3 people and then have items missing in our take out! May be sometime before we think of going back. Our Grandmother will be sad.

The catfish and hushpuppies were crunchy and well seasoned. And all the sides from the tomato relish to the pickled okra were flavorful. Our waitress was friendly and very efficient, anticipating our needs before we even asked. It had been years since I had visited the homey restaurant and I was glad to find that it had upgraded the decor but hadn't changed the wonderful food. I'll definitely be visiting again sooner rather then later.

Place is an Arlington institution been there since I can remember and today was my 1st time in to my surprise it was spotless clean from top to bottom plenty of seating with a port side decor only thing missing was a fishing dock. The catfish was absolutely perfect and the wife said her Shrimp was very good portions were more than we could finish cole slaw,beans went well tomato relish was differently good and yeast roll stole my heart. Amber our server was very kind polite an a real treat you can tell the folks here enjoy their work. Looking forward to stopping in next time where that way.

I went in with some clients. My fish was not cooked crispy like I wanted and I had to send it back. Server never came to refill drinks and I had to go to the back to get my own ice. We asked for a manager and one never showed. They threw my fish back in grease because I had broke one, instead of making fresh fish. I asked for to-go containers and had to wait 20 minutes and had to ask 3 people. Never got my ticket so had to wait again for paying. I was next in line and cashier took a walk in to-go order that just walked in and allowed him to pay. I was there Friday about 2:30 pm. There was 3 of us.

Our granddaughter picked up our - Take out - our sides look like a slop dish. The Hush puppies were in a small brown bag that was greasy from the hush puppies. The coleslaw, the two okra, the pickled tomatoes, the onions the lemon wedges were all in one small container packed on each other. We had asked for extra okra only received the two. When we called back to speak to a manager, Juan stated he was the manager and was not accommodating told us that’s the way the sides come and if we wanted it differently, we should’ve asked. We explained we eat there often and we take out just as often and we’ve never received our sides in this manner. We have been loyal customers for over 20 years and we see that the management as well as the food Quality has taken a decline. We understand business wants To profit, but at the cost of presenting like a three world country😔 TERRIBLE!!! This will be our last time at Catfish Sam’s.

I used to be a regular customer at Sam’s Catfish. When I first moved to Fort Worth, this was one of the restaurants I enjoyed most, and I often picked up catfish dinners on Fridays for my family. So when my sister came into town, I was excited to take her there and brag about the food I’d been recommending for months. Instead, I was left embarrassed by the worst customer service I’ve experienced in a long time. The first waitress was kind, professional, and made sure my order — a large whole catfish — was clearly understood. But when the second waitress brought the food, she delivered the wrong order. When I politely told her this wasn’t what I ordered, she immediately became defensive and openly rude. Instead of checking the ticket, she pushed the plate toward me and asked if I wanted to just keep it since ordering the correct item would take another 20 minutes. I told her I would wait because I wanted what I ordered. She offered no apology, no courtesy — nothing but disrespect. The first waitress returned and apologized sincerely, explaining that the other waitress had mixed up the order. She was the only person who demonstrated true customer service. Because of how rude the second waitress was, I asked to speak with the manager — and that made the situation even worse. When the manager arrived, he said he’d been “told what happened” but wanted to hear my side, as if this were some kind of he-said-she-said situation. I came to enjoy a meal with my sister, not to be interrogated. When I explained what happened, he offered a generic, insincere apology and added that this was the first time he had ever heard such a complaint about that waitress. The implication was clear: he didn’t believe me. To cover the situation, he offered free peach cobbler — which I refused. I did not need free dessert; I needed respect. The waitress’s attitude seemed far too natural to be a “first” offense, and the manager’s response only confirmed that disrespectful service is tolerated here. My sister was so uncomfortable she couldn’t even eat her food. We left, and I told the manager I would never return. In this economy, people work hard for their money. Customers deserve basic respect at any business they choose to patronize. Sadly, Sam’s Catfish has lost my business — not because of a simple mistake, but because of the rude behavior of one waitress and a manager who chose to dismiss it rather than address it.

Went here today for dinner with my bf after receiving multiple recommendations from people. We were sat almost immediately. The waitress was very abrupt. She took our drink order then left, then took our appetizer order and before we could say or ask anything else she was gone; Sweet Tea was good. Fried Pickles were super thin and honestly not worth it for the price. ...Then we had to flag her down to ask questions about the menu and it felt like she was rushing us. She literally said "Well do you know what you want or no because I can go take this other tables order if you don't know..." Guesturing to another table who was just sat.. 🤨😐 Okay.... We ordered the chicken fried steak and chicken tenders with a catfish filet. We got our food and honestly it just wasn't that good. Chicken strips had an aftertaste that could be masked with gravy or ketchup. Catfish was decent. Bf said chicken fried steak was hard to chew.... The sides were not appetizing (Coleslaw, Beans and Pickled Tomatoes(?))... Bf's fries were good though. Rolls came out with dinner and were (obviously) not offered when we first arrived. But the rolls were good. Overall 2/10 do not recommend.... Will not be visiting again.
