Honestly I don't understand the bad reviews. My husband and I absolutely love their food and love supporting them. My favorite thing about this restaurant are the cold dishes. You seldom see restaurants with a cold dish bar like this these days. The restaurant is clean, it's clearly a small family owned business that's trying to keep it traditional, price is extremely reasonable and portions are GENEROUS. Not to mention the food is very very authentic and delicious. We don't live nearby but a lot of family does, and when we're around we only come here. This place is great for take out and dine in is always nice too, never a wait. We just love supporting them.
Large portions for a cheap price; pretty good too

This place is best known for their Szechuan flavored beef noodle soup. Nowhere else within the 10 square miles can compete with its taste, portion, and reasonable pricing!!
This is the best !!! Such amazing food !! Unsurpassed !! And the host is so helpful and very friendly . Definitely a come back to place .
Great hole-in-the wall Chinese restaurant. When the customers are all Chinese, you know it's fairly authentic. Best part of the restaurant is the cold dish bar where you can order cold appetizers (cold cuts and vegetables) for very cheap price ($6 for 2 meat and 1 vegetable combo). Beef pancake and noodles are also very good here. Definitely not a place you take your first date to, but it's well worth visiting if you're looking for a good value and fairly authentic Chinese restaurant to stuff your face.
I haven’t tried their main dishes but their appetizers are so good! My fav is the pork ears, they’re truly the best in town. They cut their pork ears into super thin strips which made every bite covered in chili oil and easy to chew. This remains my top 1 pork ears in California even after I moved out of Cerritos. Soooo good!
Best Chinese food ever! Green beans are out of this world. I add almonds ( for a little extra). There is a reason this restaurant has been here so long. Fantastic food, great prices & amazing staff. Delivery is awesome and always arrives hot.Fried Rice is fluffy every time. Highly recommended!
Best authentic chinese food around. Beef noodle soup is amazing and quite spicy. Very aromatic smell from all the wonderful spices they use.
I had the cashew chicken lunch special for $8 and a fried softshell crab appetizer. The cashew chicken portion was large and came with egg drop soup ( my fav ), salad, egg roll. Whenever I'm in Tarzana I will always stop here. The lady is very nice and made me laugh.
I love coming here in weekdays. Cold dish & wontons are good. If you work around and want to have some authentic Chinese food, just give it a try!

The food is Certainly authentic and we usually get the plate of 3 appetizers for $4.50. Their beef noodle soup is good. A lot of their dishes carry a similar but classic Szechwan flavor so order wisely to avoid too many dishes with a similar taste
Beef roll was pretty good. Not as good as northern cafe nearby. Good sized portions and good prices. Dan dan has the numbing spice smell and flavor. Fried three fresh noodle was okay. Kind of skimpy on the three but heavy on the noodle. Potstickers were ok. Good price but a bit slow on service as only one person tending the place.
The only place for good beef noodle soup in Cerritos. They also have a great deal for cold appetizer items (3 items of huge portions for a low price...maybe $5.99 I wanna say?). I would be a regular if I lived closer.

Pardon me, I have to tend to my new garden Seeing the Valpak advertisement, I happened upon Szechwan Garden #2 for lunch on a random Friday. Why #2, you ask? Well, the OG Szechwan Garden is 2 doors down on the left and is a sit down restaurant, whereas #2 is the fast food branch. Their special is $7.99 for a 3-item combo & choice of steamed rice or sweet potato rice porridge. I was hoping for more authentic Chinese dishes, opposed to the typical Chinese fast food on every street corner. Let's see if Szechwan Garden #2 fits the bill. Fatty pork, eggplant & pig intestines- Pig intestines? Yeah, I'm an offal son of a gun! The pig intestines were tender, and had just a slight "poop shoot" taste to them. The eggplant were bright & soft, the fatty pork decadently juicy. Quite a lot of portions, I was originally gonna go for chicken wings instead of the fatty pork, but when I was told only 3 wing sections were considered an item, I made the audible for fatty pork. Sweet potato rice porridge- Don't expect a sweet dessert porridge. The only sweetness came from the sweet potato. Hot, comforting and definitely filling. Rice roll- I was given a rice roll with my to-go order. I don't know if this is standard or a check-in deal, but the roll was stuffed with some "mystery meat", which I believe is pork of some kind. Parts of it had rice that was hard, which I just removed. Considering it's free, the rice roll wasn't too bad. Besides lunch & dinner, Szechuan Garden #2 promotes their Chinese breakfast, opening at 8am. Classic comfort food like egg tarts, steam buns & cha quay are some of the options available. Service was good. The staff speak limited English, so communicating was a tad difficult, if not humorous. I asked for soy sauce & chili sauce packets, which the staff told me they didn't have. A good amount of seating via tables for those that choose to dine in. Parking is in a private lot. Szechuan Garden #2 is located in the same plaza as Kariya Shabu Shabu & BBQ. First time at Szechuan Garden #2, and I found it OK. It's pretty much what I expected going in. I enjoyed my meal, which had plenty by way of portions & the added rice roll was a nice gesture. While I'm not hankering to go back right away, I wouldn't poo poo the idea of coming back to Szechuan Garden #2 when I'm in the pursuit of a quick breakfast/lunch. Recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM
Unfortunately, there s a lot more bad things I could say about this place than good things. The food seems to be a little hit or miss. The Szechuan cold noodles aren't very tasty and the texture isn't great. The hard boiled egg is sitting on a bed of what I think is supposed to be a braised pork but smells fermented. And the most criminal of all is the rice. I'm not sure if I got the bottom of the rice cooker or if they just didn't cook the rice well, but it was really clumpy and stuck together. I came at 12. There are some good things though. The mapo tofu is pretty good. Most of the vegetables are also decent.

Appetizer combo is the only positive thing. Cooked food isn't good - not even sure what they are trying to achieve. Not sure why this place is a restaurant vs just a counter service with appetizers to go.

Wouldn't know how the food taste, because the lady is actually so rude when you go in.... literally described the food "this is for Chinese people". If you're not Chinese, don't spend your money there-
We came to this place for dinner as our normal Chinese food place was closed. The food was horrible, cold didn't even seem it was cooked on a wok, broccoli beef cold , big chunks of pork in fried rice, chicken chow mein had no flavor and I never seen peas and carrots in it before. Pork buns were flavorless. I paid 70.00 for 3 people and we didn't finish our meal or even take home the left overs. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE.....
Food is bland, their soups aren't good at all! The beef roll is probably the best thing we ordered and that wasn't even great. Not a fan. The owner didn't like my review and private messaged me on yelp to cuss me out. Definitely bad business
We went to this place a day or two ago. For some reason the lady treat us with a very cold shoulder and acting like we owe her couple hundred dollars or something like that. The noodle were very soft tasted like been there for a few days. I think coup noodle probably tasted better than this place. Never want to go back there.
