Opinions de Boardwalk Pizzeria Arverne
Pizza and pasta are delicious. The regular slices are so good and piping hot it can cure a cold! The management is quick and efficient and Paulie is a real awesome guy, he always knows my name and knows his local buyers. I miss this pizza since I moved from far rockaway.
Best pizza I've had in a while reminded me of my favorite childhood pizza place. Even though we ordered close to close they still took our order and were super nice to us. My friends were being annoying but despite that they still allowed us to eat outside after closing. Good pizza good staff
Took my fiancee from Nashville, to taste her first NYC pizza for the first time here. They didn't disappoint. Friendly and professional service. She also loved their cheesy bread.
This is the best pizza in the neighborhood. A little overpriced but the food is still great. The staff are always friendly and the owner is a great guy. They do their best to make you feel welcomed. It's a nice cozy place to sit back and eat with friends/family.
The Best Pizza in Rockaway! Prob in NYC. First lets talk about the staff, great people, attentive to your needs, polite, fast service, very welcoming to their establishment. A store is a reflection of the people who work it and that begins with the owners and managers. The owner, a young gentleman that is very kind and accommodating as well as the manager, a Latin gentleman who also has treated us (my Fiancé and I) very well. We usually eat here, however there was once we had family over at the house and wanted to order and show them how delicious this pizza is, and when we called to let the manager know that we received our pizza an hour late and that it was cold, he sent us another for free. Now that is what I call excellent customer service the manager listened, acknowledged, solved and thanked me. This is how he got to the heart of the complaint and gave me a solution fast! Now the Pizza, you can taste that these are expensive real top notch quality tomatoes that they are using in their sauce. It is something that you must try! If you are in town you stop by and see for yourself what pizza is supposed to taste like.
Will never call this place again. They had me waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes to bring the wrong order. Then basically take it or.leave it. The kids were waiting to eat pizza. I ordered 1 large pepperoni 1 large cheese and they delivered 1 large pepperoni. My neighbor's son is allergic to pepperoni. I called and cursed them out because the delivery driver called and they said that's what I ordered. Then the pizza was cold as hell. Totally disappointed and will not recommend this place. How dare them say I ordered pepperoni only knowing they have my address as I order the same thing all the time Bunch of idiots.
This Pizza.... crazy expensive but so worth it. The options are immense. You name they can make it in a timely matter. Quality ingredients... you taste the difference. Everything made fresh to order. The entire team is sweet and ready to serve. Thanks for great pizza!!!
This is my favorite pizza in New York, I tried so many pizzas living in NYC for 15 years, I can honestly say this is the best pizzeria i know. Crust is perfect, sauce got this deep deep deeper flavor that i enjoy and the cheese blend is well on point. And all the specialty pies taste real good and fresh. Vibe is good, always a smile, well done, thank you.
Great pizza spot! Pizza was amazing and heated amazingly ! Service was good but they need to have manners when customers are in the building and especially wanting to purchase but they continue with their own conversation! Anyways they can improve and should but food was amazing
I love Boardwalk Pizzeria! It's the best place to get pizza in this area. They have so many options, from pizza to pasta to lasagna to sandwiches to paninis. And don't get me started on their pita bread. It's so soft and warm and delicious. I can't get enough of it. The restaurant is spacious and clean, and the staff and the owner are super friendly and helpful. They always make sure you're happy with your order. If you're looking for a great pizza place, look no further than Boardwalk Pizzeria!
I love this restaurant!! The food is always fresh and soooo delicious!! Tiramisu is so creamy just like in 🇮🇹 Italy. I love it so much that I bought 3 tonight! The owner is very friendly. I am eating capellini w 🍤 right now and had to write a review 👍🏽
LOVE this place. The pizza is consistently delicious and we recently tried the arugula salad which didn’t disappoint. We even had the table next to us ask what the salad was because the lady said it smelled so good. Highly recommend.
Posted a great review already. Posting again for this amazing establishment! I live pretty far from the restaurant and every time they send out delivery their delivery guys/girls are amazing. I just had Michael R I believe his name was (how it came up when he called me) who went out of his way to call and ask the best way to get to my home ! Food is hot and delicious and the staff if you call or get delivery are the best!!! Thanks for delivering all the way to breezy we appreciate you guys!
Nice pizza but little bit more expensive than regular places.
Everything I tried has always been delicious. I love their specialty pizzas, but my favorite is the vodka slice. The sauce tastes like I am having a dish of pasta with vodka sauce; extremely flavorful. Of all the vodka slices I have had this is top two for sure !!! Can’t wait to go back.
The best cheesy garlic breadsticks ever! The staff is also super kind. Their grandma's slice has a delicious vodka sauce (the orange slice in the photo), and their crust for the sicilian slices is perfect (the other square slice in the photo). We always make sure to stop here before we leave Rockaway so we can bring pizza/breadsticks home with us!
I order for lunchand have lunch dates their with my daughter and granddaughter. We love the pizza
This is a great place to bring family/friends. It's a short walk from the train station and the restaurant/bathroom was clean with it taking a short while to get our food. Although the food is a bit expensive, the pizza was delicious and so were the jumbo wings. Staff was polite and I definitely would go again. 10/10
Best pizza I've had in New York.
The best pizza in New York and I live in Staten Island but come all the way over here for the pizza! It’s just that darn good! And here’s the bonus, they make their own ice cream!! I absolutely love this place and no matter how far I am I will CLIMB MOUNTAINS TO get to this food! Don’t take my lil review seriously…… okay I dare you to go try the pizza and ice cream and tell me I’m wrong!! It’s so good! U will keep going back! Just like me, no matter how far I’m coming to eat here!
I travel 1 hour from Long Island to come here for the Chicken Marsala Hero. The marsala sauce is thicker than usua, silky and luxurious. If I lived closer I would be here 5 days a week. Fantastic!
Great pepperoni cup pizza that's loaded with pepperoni and a spicy sauce with a little kick. I think it's one of the best slices (even though it's a rectangle) in the city. I stop in every time I go to Rockaway. Chicken ranch was extra yummy. My 6 year old loves the cheese pizza. Good staff. Good prices. Highly recommend.
First ate here in 2017 when we lived off Beach 59th, I was pregnant with our daughter & it was the ONLY food I could eat without getting sick afterwards. My husband & I basically lived off of their Grandma Pie, I absolutely fell in love with Boardwalk & since we moved I haven't been able to enjoy other places pizza since. The quality of their pizza, the flavor, the deliciousness is to die for. Can't wait to go back to NY to visit family just so we can go to Far Rockaway to order a few pies. Our daughter is now 7 and she loves pizza so I can't wait for her to finally try the pizza I have told her so many stories about so she can taste it for herself lol.
Pizza so delicious that although I am well-known for and love my homemade pizza, I haven’t made any in the 10 months since we moved to the area. The service is friendly and efficient, and they make to order if they’ve run out of one’s preference. We are yet to try their expansive non-pizza menu … it’s literally unpassable.
Went twice in 2 days. The garlic cheese sticks are nice but the guy running the register charged us $1.75 each at 9:45 pm. We placed a takeout order on their website the next day for $1.38 each. Scan much. The pomodoro sauce is okay but fries out a lot when reheating. Not as flavorful as expected. Okay size for a side of pasta. The veggie soup is full of flavor. We were shocked. If you don’t get hustled, okay spot for quick Italian.
I sat with my Godson(8yrs) while he ate 2 slices of pizza. Not crowded & it was clean
Great place for pizza-lovers! Big choice, reasonable price, big sizes, freshly-baked, pizza pies are also available. What about pasta, it is quite good, big portions, A LOT OF CHEESE, little meet though. It is also very hot inside, sitting outside could even be better due to seaside breeze.
Pizza always fantastic but they are not very accommodating when you want to order something that's not on the menu example, I wanted to order only 2 meatballs on their menu it's 4 meatballs for $10 I only needed 2 for my niece she's a kid. They would not just give me 2 for $5. That doesn't seem like good business to me. I guess I'll continue to go to Marinaras in Hewlett. Its a little further to travel but they are accommodating to their customers.
Not really sure why this one man is working there for so long but he's lacking the basic customer service skillset that one should possess in hospitality. Food is mid range and really not worth the $ 6 dollars for a sweet chili chicken slice!!?? Wow you must have a high rent to pay. Full disclosure, i went there this time out of convienance.
I loved this place. Back when it first opened, I SWORE by Boardwalk. Now, in my sole opinion and not based off of anything else, it has declined a bit. The food is great, the service used to be great, the atmosphere was so fresh and it was always a vibe to chill as you ate, but after I stepped away from the area for a bit and came back things were different. It wasn't the best pizza I've ever had anymore. However, you can still come here and get good food. So many locals order from boardwalk and so many more are put on to this spot because it is STILL good, it's just not what it used to be and I miss it.
Pizza is okay - it’s edible & not bad quality. Thin crust for sure & thin sliced pepperoni. $4.99 for a slice of pepperoni is ridiculous. If the pepperoni was a bit thicker & more of it - maybe I can justify $10+tax on 2 slices but I can’t justify the price in my head. The taste was also super bland, I loaded with those pizza topping extras… They didn’t have prices or menus anywhere. If it was $3.50 slice so I could get a drink included in the $10+ tax, I would totally give a 5 star… 😬
The guy behind the counter has no patience! The Yung lady behind the counter was friendly and trying her best but the owner/manager was just yelling at her for no reason.
Honestly, I've had better pizza and I've had worse pizza. It was sure fresh, but that's really all the positive I have to say about this place. The table I sat at had dirty napkins and sauce on it. It took me around five minutes to even be acknowledged even though the man behind me was taken care of immediately, and I felt like a burden for asking to buy (overpriced) food. The pizza was super thin, the sauce was mediocre or maybe there was so little of it that I could barely taste it, and there wasn't much cheese... on my cheese slices. I came from Brooklyn to the area for dinner and saw the reviews so I decided to give this place a try, and I just wish I went to Ciro's instead.
To expensive. This is not midtown but Rockaway Beach, Queens. Charging upwards to $5 for a slice is absurd even taking into account inflation. Even their other plates are $5 or more than competitors. Someone bring these ppl back down to reality! I blame the gentrifiers and yuppies who have since moved in who enable this highway robbery. We've always had great pizza out her at other places and not as much!
Decently nice place. Easy to get to. Man at the counter was rushing. I ordered a buffalo chicken slice. Didn’t taste like buffalo at all, it taste like BBQ & there was about three tiny pieces of chicken on it. It tastes good but it definitely wasn’t what i wanted or asked for. Two slices cost me $13. Won’t go back.
The price is OK. The portion size is decent. The pizza is very greasy. The buffalo chicken pizza is dry. And the pizza crust is very thin. I’ve never had pizza this thin unless I’ve ordered thin crust and I ordered regular.
Listen, the pizza is decent. But where did we get in society that 2 slices of pizza and a Snapple is $13.80? Even if it was the best slice in the world (which it definitely isn’t) I’d say that’s too expensive. Too much oil and too small to be charging that much. Common now. The garbage cans and floors are filthy too
We’re big pizza lovers and have tried pizza all over New York, so we really wanted to give this place a fair chance. We stopped by a couple of times, but honestly, it left a pretty mixed impression. The staff was… hard to describe — not rude, but not very friendly either. The biggest disappointment was that when we came in to eat, I needed to use the restroom, and they told me it wasn’t working. That was really uncomfortable, especially since we had already ordered our food. A restaurant at this level should really make that a priority. I understand it’s a busy beach area, but still — that’s something they need to figure out. The pizza itself was just average, nothing special, so we don’t plan to come back.
Pizza is good, the Italian old man with the accent needs to have a little more manners when serving customers. In the customer service business you have to be nice to people when you serve them and not throw food at them when it’s ready. As we were leaving my family and I he yelled at my son to pass him the bottled seasonings that were on the table. I’m sorry my kid doesn’t work there he could have asked nicely or actually got them himself you work there!
The pizza here was wayyyy better than I expected. Sizes were a bit smaller than the typical NY slice but it was so good. The taste and the crust were pretty much perfect. I think we'll order a whole pie next time and just absolutely crush it. However, the order of french fries we got was absolute trash. It was soggy and soft and not one single piece had any crisp to it whatsoever. Half the fries barely even had any color to it. It was like they just microwaved a bunch of frozen fries. Tasted like a bunch of boiled potato strips. This was without a doubt the worst fries I have ever had in my entire life. My kids were looking forward to some tasty fries on the beach but instead they had to be subjected to this nonsense.
Approximately a year and half ago the quality and taste of the food fell off dramatically and it is heartbreaking because this was definitely a weekly go to. Especially in an area where there aren't alot of options.
We've been coming since they opened over 10 years ago - have likely spent $1000's over the years, but we're done. Price on the menu that is all over the counter is not the price they charge. Same for ordering online - on their own website - different prices. The new owner can charge whatever he wants, and the customers can decide whether it's worth it or not, but don't argue with a longtime patron about it when I show that you can order a pizza online for $21.50, and then point it out on the printed menu (21.50) but you charge me $23.50...or garlic knots that are $3.50 online (and printed menu) but suddenly $5.00 ordering in person. Way too many pizzerias in the area to deal with this.
It's under new ownership I didn't know horrible no cheese cold tasteless they forget oregano and garlic salt prices went up $25 I want my money back should of ordered from Elegante. Giuseppe did call me and apologized. Order was replaced in person by me with lasagna I asked for the order to be given to me cold and I would just heat it up at home and it was so weird when I got home it was like a kit the sauce the mozzarella and the lasagna barely any meat I have put it together and heated up definitely not Italian but he tried I still don't think I will be going back.
Yesterday my husband order broadwalk pizza thru uber eats . He knows that's my favorite so I was excited. It soon went to shock and disappointment. The pizza pie was burned black . I was so shock a business can smell and see a burn pizza and let it go out to customers who pay good money for their pizza . I wish I could post a pic because I was shock and will never go back there again . I had to order more food for my family and I don't drive. Or I would have drove there . I will never order again. It shows they didn't care and I don't want to do business with any place that do that .
Great location, nice atmosphere, nice staff but the pizza isn't great and has nerve to be OVERPRICED. If you can get a great slice in the city for $1-2 there's no way it should cost $3-4 in the Rockaways. Delivery takes a while and I'm walking distance from the shop. They are so busy making "fancy" pizzas that there's no time for a true NY pizza with a nice size, good sauce or crisp crust. I hope they improve!! I order from Ciro's, they are much better.
I used to live in Rockaway years ago and always used to come here after work at the YMCA. I walked in today and asked why it was so dead and they said it was under new management and you can immediately tell that it was. Not the same vibe and atmosphere and food that they used to serve. It's really sad actually. Used to be absolutely best pizza in Rockaway.
The Pizza is more of a miss than a hit. But when it's good, it's good. The new owner is extremely rude to his customers and neighbors. Nobody likes this guy. He talks down to his staff in front of customers. I no longer support this Pizzeria,
I’ve been here a few times over the years, but just came here to say there’s a cashier in unfamiliar with, maybe she’s new or maybe not, but the only way I can describe is she wears glasses. I only went to pick up my uber eats order, but she was so sweet and welcoming. She was already helping someone out while I was there, but she I offered me another bag as well as utensils in the nicest way and reminded the other customer she was still with her and not to worry when she was taking a while to decide. As a service worker, I think it’s nice to shout out other great service givers! Editing: Been coming here since they opened, just came back after a while. $7.34 for a subpar buffalo slice is egregious. Won’t return.
Disappointed in this service. You show up at 11am only for pizzas not to be ready until 11:45am (only needed a few slices). Rude and upset staff - ugh just not the best way to start a fun day on the beach. They are also spraying the tables while we are waiting and sitting down. Please be genuine to your paying customers who help keep your business alive.
Went to order a pie. I asked the tall racist guy at the register how long would it take for a Margherita pizza pie. He responded to me saying “5mins, 10 mins, its not Mcdonald’s”, it takes time” Only thing I wanted to know was how long would it take to make the pie ( just so I know if I can wait for it or not). I was very aware that I was not in Mcdonald’s. There was no reason for his attitude and rudeness. If you can’t answer a simple question, then this job isn’t for you. Don’t waste your money here.
I only come here just to eat something quick but i notice everytime I come in I never get greeted but everytime its someone behind me getting greeted before me . No lie , it’s really a weird vibe in this pizza place. Today was the last straw when I find out he don’t like black costumers. I ask the owner for Ranch dressing and instead of going in the fridge the owner gives me an old ranch sauce from the back by the garbage . He made me pay extra I was so mad when I go home !
This service is horrible the man behind the counter always has an attitude it's uncalled for i walked in a got attitude when I tried to order and I walked right out Not the first time he had an attitude who ever owns this business should take a stance to save this business look at all your complaints. The pizza is average not worth attitude many other good spots in the on the peninsula.
HORRIBLE THEY ARE LIARS TAKE YOUR MONEY AND DONT DELIVER!! Living on Rockaway for 8 years they were good at one point, but drop the Ball!! They get every order wrong over charge and then don’t answer the phone when they mess up! Paid $80 worth of food and not worth the service. Save your money cook your own dinner the owner Paulie is a crook and don’t care about his customers. SAVE YOUR MONEY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! If I can give them NO stars that’s what they are worth!
They are over priced I literally paid $22.00 for a bowl of just lettuce, crotons and grilled chicken and 2 orders of garlic knots . this is why I order from Gino's and J & M pizza. complete rip off they certainly need "Restaurant Impossible" as they sent me an order of garlic knots and the crushed garlic was under the bread. seriously you don't do a community like that who are spending their hard earned money there to keep you in business. last time I ordered a soup they sent me bits of chicken with just broth no noodles at all.
I'm sorry I've had good pizza and was affordable. A large pie and sauce 18 dollers ok. With that being said over at this place it's way more. They are pricey a pesto pie large and they wanted 38 plus tax. I'm sorry big no. like I said I've had good pizza better places and affordable. These guys are money hungry. oh man I can imagine if they have uber eats delivery or grub hub. The costumers will be spending a whole lot more. my goodness I could imagine the faces and reactions to the total bill before checking out. If you like wasteing alot of money by all means go ahead, Not me. The nerve of the owner useing inflation to justify his crockery crooked prices. funny the owner only is replying to the people that are give fare feedback to his crockery place.
Too high of a price for basic mediocre pizza. Paid 27.00 for Dough that was not fluffy a bit dry the pizza itself was not fully cooked. Very greasy the cheese was not all the way melted all around just a bad pie. Literally ate two slices and threw it away, the slices are usually good been here 2 times before this pie. First pie I ever had and will be the last. You can tell this is not a passion and just a business. I definitely will not recommend
First of all the service was tiring and old. The pizza was old, dry, and very crusty. I can't recommend this place unless you are starving.
Very poor customer service, I asked for a menu to order and see what’s in the menu, cashier girl response was so stupid and not make sense, she doesn’t even know how to talk to customer. After poor and rude customer service I decide not to order anything because not worth it. My friend was already ordered her gyro wrap and she wasn’t that satisfied by taste of her food , she said taste like plastic. I would never order a food from this poor place.
I just came from here and purchased two regular slices and one Sicilian for $13.00 and was I Disappointed , the sauce was disgusting, it taste like fake canned sauce, hardly and cheese and someone please tell them to add salt to the dough bc wow that was blend, Digirno frozen pizza taste way better the theirs. Thank you for wasting my money b’way pizza , now i know why it has been years since I ate there. sorry but, yep, the pizza not good at all
This place is a rip off! We bought one order of calamari , plain fettuccine and 2 slices of pizza. The older guy told me it was for $78! I paid in cash and was in a hurry but then I realized later on as we were eating , “ how did he come up with such an amount?” I couldn’t go back anymore to ask because he didn’t even give a receipt. This same guy overcharges. Even for a slice of pizza that’s already $7, he will always ask for more. And he intimidates you with his grumpy sarcastic personality. Beware! This is how you treat your customers! What comes around, goes around… Never again!
The new owner is rude and disrespectful. The prices are very high.
Ordered a pizza that was cold witin a 10 minute ride to home. They were very nasty when I complained. They didn't want to offer another pizza. I didn't take it back because my 8 year old had eaten a slice. It won't happen again. When you know better, ypu do better.
Usually i’m a regular a Customer but Today i experienced an unpleasant experience with a worker. I’m not sure if he was the owner but he wear a cap on his head and His hair is fully white. I was patiently waiting to place an order he over looked me for a Good 3mins before taking my order. Wasn’t busy at all i’m the only one standing there. Finally he asked for my order. I replied oh you ready to take my order. His Reply was i only have two hands & Feet. So i still ordered the pizza but then i thought about it, then i looked and his hand he has dry open cuts on all 10 of his fingers. You can see dry looking blood from cracks split around his cuticles and fingertips. Sir you should be wearing gloves when handling food. Also i didn’t appreciate your rude rebuttal so i kindly walked out without my order. Your Rude and you fingers look contaminated. Please be mindful of this when you ordering.
48$ for 2 cheese pies is ridiculous. I have been ordering from here for a long time because they deliver and it's convenient BUT this time the pies had a different cheese that was SALTY and basically nonexistent! I went to pick them up which I rarely do and noticed different people. I'm not sure if the place is under new management but they stared at me and spoke in Spanish to one another asking if I paid already without realizing I SPEAK SPANISH and understood everything they were saying about me. Needless to say I will be looking for a new pizza place!
My experience was seriously disappointing - I wouldn't even give them one star. I asked a coworker to order for me, and I got the Alfredo with fried shrimp. Unfortunately, the food tasted off, and the 'shrimp' didn't quite taste like shrimp. When we called to complain, the manager was rude and argumentative, and it seemed like they weren't interested in resolving the issue. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
When people don't know pizza and have a decent slice they say wow best I ever had... This is not one of the best pizzas I've ever had, I'd give them I 6.5 out of ten, slightly above average pizza definitely the best pizza in arverne as there are only two. Pizza is over priced but they have no competition so they can get away with it. I honestly used to buy here often but I saw the manager and a few employees be incredibly racist to a nice family. Husband , wife, daughter and son... Kids had to be between 7 and 10 they came in and were completely ignored by the manager even though no one else was in the restaurant and they were talking directly to them. The manager just stared at them and didn't say anything. They turned around and left confused. And when they walked out the door two employees came from the back not realizing me and my wife were sitting there eating and cursed the family out in Italian after they had already left. That was my last time ordering from there. Pizza is decent but owners and managers who act like that and condone that behavior from staff disgust me
90 minute wait for chicken parmigiana and meatballs to be prepared.
After enduring an unacceptable hour-long commute, all we wanted was a quick cheap bite to eat. But instead, we found ourselves trapped in an agonizing wait—an unbearable 1.5 hours just for a single pizza! To make matters more worst, the staff forgot our order. By the time it arrived, our hunger had turned into sheer frustration.
Placed an order and asked for an item that they make which was a chicken roll and i wanted to add spinach. The manager advised it isn't something they usually do but be would be able to do it after i advised it is a $50 order. What they did was used a roll that was sitting on the shelf all day and cut it open to add spinach. No cheese on top of it nothing. I called and he bluntly lied and said thats what he told me he was going to do. Which was a lie, i would've said no and to cancel the entire order. He then stated be would never make it ever again and basically was telling me he didn't care what i wanted which i wanted what i paid for. I asked for a refund for the roll he told me no. They will never get another dime from me. Save your money and go to Elegante on 92nd. Better food and better service. If i wanted to drive i would've had it instead of here but decided to give them a chance. Never again!
Honestly some of the worst pizza I have ever had and I ate it fresh + hot... The staff is nice but the food is so bad. The sauce was bland, the grease was out of control, and the crust was dry and not chewy at all. It’s very clear that the ingredients they are using are cheap and that making good food is not the priority. If you want good pizza, just go to New Park or Whit’s End. Everywhere else is a waste of money out here.
I’ve been coming to this establishment since it came to the Rockaways and was a “big hit”. I usually never leave reviews but more so recently I’m so disappointed with the quality of the pizza and especially the price! I ordered a pie for pickup, 1/2 with pepperoni and when I arrived to pick up my order, half the slices were so burned and the crust looked old and unappealing! I complained to the person who handled my order and his disposition was very nasty! He made excuses for the pizza being burned and before I could finish explaining myself he kept cutting me off. I requested to speak to the manager which he told me “I’m the owner”. Meanwhile, he’s not the person I’m usually used to dealing with who I know to be the owner. Anyhow, he then calms down after telling me I’ll need to wait 30 more minutes for a fresh pie when I told him I only wanted for him to replace the burned pepperoni slices because my child will refuse to eat it!! However, the pizza was so nasty!!! The crust was thin, and it had a burned flavor on the entire pie even those slices that didn’t appear burned with really hard dough!!! I will not be supporting this pizza restaurant anymore! This is the second time I ordered a pie and it did not meet my expectations! Plus, thr prices are too high for such mediocre food. Very unfortunate and waste of money!!
What happened to your pizza? It used to be so good. Sauce is terrible on the margaritas slice. The cheese on the white slice looks weird. Very disappointed. The only thing good about this place is the young man who served the pizza.
Walked in to get slices on a lunch break. Place was practically dead, no more than 2 people being served. As i walk in i’m looking at the slices waiting to be asked what would I like since both people behind the counter are talking to the 2 customers there. While they’re speaking to the customers, I’m constantly getting looked at and ignored. Like do you want to make a sale or not??? Pizza isn’t even that good to be acting like that. Unfortunately, when you’re in far rock where there isn’t much to eat that is actually good or worth the price, you gotta settle for less. By the time I got my food, my break was nearly over and I had to rush to eat. The pizza ain’t anything special. The service is just slow as hell and it seems like they really don’t want to be working sometimes. Find employees who actually do if that’s the case.No reason to be waiting 10 minutes for a slice or two all the time when the pizza is literally just reheated.
This used to be such a great pizzeria, but recently the quality of food definitely declined and the level of unfriendliness increased. I am guessing the business isn’t going well and the owner spills his frustration on the customers. I really hope that the owner improves the situation, as it would be a pity to lose another local business.
The meatball hero is good, but everything on the menu is overpriced in general. In Manhattan, on MacDougal St, I know a place that's been in business approx. 50 years that offers excellent pizza for $3.00 per slice. Boardwalk's slice is nowhere near as good, and more expensive. You can find various brands of frozen pizza at Stop & Shop instead. Its $4.99-$5.99 on sale, and far tastier than Boardwalk pizza.
Visited this past Friday with my wife and saw mice running around the floor. Instantly lost my appetite and decided to leave. As I was walking out, I once again saw mice running around and mice droppings on the floor. Makes one wonder what is really going on in that kitchen. Decided not to speak with any staff because they were distant and had like no emotion or interest in customer service so I decided to save myself the trouble from speaking with them. Would definitely not return.
Honestly, the bad review isn’t about its quality per se. It’s the fact that the owner has a Trump sticker right next to his kitchen full of Latino workers. More specifically on his office door (which he kept open for 99.9% of my stay). That’s absolutely inhumane considering the conditions immigrants (many Latino) are being put under this current administration - especially with the many confirmed reports of the severe abuse that’s happening in the El Salvador/foreign prisons they’ve been sending them to. Not even mentioning the history of the exploitation of Latino/minority workers in America - more specifically in the hands of people who see us as lesser “Americans” (people) than they are. I feel horrible for their workers, they shouldn’t have to deal with it. They’re nice, work hard, and I had a wonderful conversation with them about their day, and they clearly try to create a good experience. I felt that way until the owner kinda stormed through and ruined it with his attitude. Automatically I felt the hostility in that place by the owner, especially toward his workers. Seemingly criticizing them in front of people over what ended up being a network issue. It made me feel uncomfortable off the bat, I just wanted some pizza so I quickly made my order to him right after he barked at a worker and then turned to me and asked what I wanted?? I only noticed the sign after I paid when he opened the door and I immediately regretted my decision. I've been here many times and I WILL DEFINITELY NOT COME BACK. I made sure to tell as many people that I saw today about it so they knew too. And will continue to as the days and years go on. No matter what. No wonder he treated his workers this way. No wonder there was hostility. So I guess at the end of the day, my review IS about the quality. Because the sign said it all. Disgusting.
This place is definitely overpriced. Now imagine paying an outrageous price of 7 dollars for one slice ONE SLICE no bev no garlic knots nothing. Then have the audacity to charge another $0.35 for using a card and I can promise you I can’t even find prices like that in Manhattan for a slice. Everyone working behind the counter always seems to be in miserable mood honestly the Energy they give off in this place make you not even want pizza anymore. also males bathroom is always out of order and if you wanna wash your hands prepare for freezing cold water 👎🏽
For years, I have ordered 1 or 2 times a week from Boardwalk. The food I order is not anything extraordinary but I know what they make that I like and have been ordering those items for years. This evening, I made a mistake on an online order and called the store to make the correction. The customer service was abysmal. After I realized the person on the phone was rude and condescending, I asked to speak with the manager (just in case this was a language issue.) The man identified himself as "The business owner." My ordering error was easily resolved but his conduct was very off-putting. While waiting for my delicious grandma pie and chicken roll, I did a quick google search of reviews and found many people have been treated poorly by this man. I spend thousands of dollars here each year on their delicious grandma pies, fried calamari, and chicken rolls. Sadly, this will be my last order from Boardwalk. (Also, their delivery drivers have always been awesome!)
The pizza is good but the I feel like all the workers are nice but one. Feels like pure hate and no respect it bothers me because I try be as respectful as I can. It’s not fair that I feel like I’m doing something wrong when I just want to eat and wanted some decent service
I order all the time for my kids. I ordered extra cheese they sent me a burnt pizza. All three pies cost me a hundred and twenty dollars I will drive up to 112 from now on. Owner came on the phone said he do not care. This was my favorite spot guess they not the family business I use to love.
Average, OVERPRICED pizza, super STINGY and UNFRIENDLY manager. We bought a whole pie, added 2 extra and he gave us 4 napkins. He even has napkins hidden by the cash register and administers them like prescription medicine. Don't even get me started with the red pepper: one small container for the whole restaurant to share. Even giving us paper cups after purchasing sodas seemed painful for him. He gave us 2 cups for 4 people, saying "these are my last 2!" Unbelievable. The pizza is SOOO overpriced for his very THIN SLICES. We purchased a large pie with extra 2 slices added for $50. We didn't have a choice as the kids were hungry. NOT GOING BACK.
I usually get something when I’m around here and it’s always been gd but today I walked in and the older gentleman that was there seemed annoyed when I ask him a question, He got mad like he didn’t wanna be there. If you don’t like your job there’s always someone else that’s willing to do your job. Second he proceeded to ring me up and when I told him I was gonna grab a drink he told me that when I was done, ready to check out to come back which was seconds and he decided to ring up someone like it was busy … only two ppl me being one of them.. When I got my pizza it was Luke warm and completely dry like it’s been there since the morning and super greasy and my drink was warm like it didn’t just come out the fridge… for what I paid not worth it and the worst service I ever had …. NEVER AGAIN!
