Sat at the bar and felt really at home. Steve the bartender was amazing. We had some great conversations and the whole bar was involved. Not many places out there can offer that type of warmth. We had some pizzas, salads, meatballs, all were excellent. Some places over salt their food to make it taste better, I like that the food wasn’t bathed in salt. Clean and delicious. Try this spot for an affordable, healthy, meal. 💯
Brunelleschi’s in Aspen is a must-visit! The calamari, risotto, and cocktails were all exceptional. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and definitely worth making a reservation. Our server, Haley, was attentive, friendly, and helpful - would highly recommend her as well!
Brunelleschi’s on 205 South Mill Street in Aspen offers a delightful dining experience with its cozy ambiance and diverse menu. Renowned for its wood-fired pizzas, the crusts are perfectly crisp, with fresh, flavorful toppings. Other dishes are equally impressive, boasting authentic Italian flavors. The staff is attentive, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Located conveniently in Aspen, it’s a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. A must-visit for Italian cuisine enthusiasts in the area!
We were two big families who walked into this restaurant without a reservation or any prior research—we actually found it by chance after all the restaurants downstairs were full and spotted its entrance upstairs. There were 10 of us in total, plus a dog, including four kids. And we found the perfect table to fit us all! The staff here were incredibly warm, pet-friendly, and so kind to the kids. Since we didn’t plan ahead, we weren’t sure what to order—but everything we chose turned out to be delicious! We even saw kids at another table making their own pizzas—definitely something we’ll try next time! At first, we were worried that a large group like ours might be turned away (as happened with another restaurant downstairs), but here, we felt completely welcome. The food came out quickly, water was refilled promptly, empty plates were cleared right away, and the servers were thoughtful and attentive. It made for an unforgettable Saturday lunch break during our four-day camping trip. Thank you—we love you guys!
We really enjoyed our Saturday night at Brunelleschi’s! We were able to walk in and get a table at 6:30 with a short wait (this seems like a miracle since it was packed!). We got the flatiron pizza and the Alana salad and our son got to make his own pizza at the table and then they went and cooked it which was a fun experience! Would definitely recommend.
Josh was an amazing server. Food is fantastic, well priced, well presented and tasty! For Aspen, prices are pretty decent.
Came here for our dinner after 3-hour driving from Denver. We, group of 5 and a baby, were tired and hungry. Thankfully, the waiter was quick and friendly. We decided to share because we wanted to try everything. We order calamari for appetizer, Snowmass and highlands pizza, meat lasagna and killer carbonara. We thought we would wait quite long since the restaurant was quite packed. But no, all the foods came out after 15 minutes. Pizza crust was thin and crunchy. Pastas were delicious. Highly recommend for visitors if you look for some Italian dishes in Aspen.
While visiting and walking around Aspen we found Brunelleschi's for dinner. We had a meatball appetizer which was a delicious authentic tasting Italian meatball. Our group had a variety of entree's which were all delicious. We also had glasses of wine and some of the greatest cannolis I've ever had! We enjoyed the atmosphere, service, and the food so much that we returned a few days later for another meal. Our server on both occasions was Georgie and we adored her as our server! If we ever have the chance to return to Aspen this will be one of our first stops.
The fettuccine Sofia with chicken is best pasta dish in town - 10/10 Mascots Pepper and Bruno 🐾 are the cutest
Lasagna, DELICIOUSLY AMAZING!!! Come visit this restaurant in Aspen, Colorado. All the other dishes are delicious as well. If you don't like sourness, don't order Chicken Picante. 😅 They are closing this month so better hurry and fly to Colorado if you don't live here. Come visit many times! I would come everyday. 😋😋😋
Lemme tell you. Some of the best Italian food I've ever had! And the bruschetta was definitely the best I've ever had! Not only that but the drinks and service were also amazing! You need to stop by and have dinner here. You will not be disappointed!
We visit Aspen three or four times a year, and Brunelleschi’s is always on the top of my list. I believe it’s my favorite pizza on the planet! The Paisano with added Pepperoni is incredible!
Delicious Pizza and salads. Great service and atmosphere. Many people came in to watch the Stanley Cup.
Great place - tasty food. Great pizza - pasta - salads …. We had a group of 9, and this is probably THE #1 kid friendly spot in Aspen. We met the owner - and THE nicest lady and super hospitable person on earth. 100% A+ in every way!
Brunos is more than just a bar—it’s a local institution. The atmosphere is always buzzing with energy, a perfect mix of hometown charm and passionate sports fans. The food is consistently excellent, and the ownership sets the tone. Gil, the heart and soul of the place, has a gift for making everyone feel welcome. He’ll strike up a conversation, tell you what’s fresh, and steer you toward a local special or the chef’s delight—always spot on. For me, Brunos has always been about hockey. This is the hockey bar, the spot where the games feel bigger, the crowd more electric, and the camaraderie unmatched. But even when the final buzzer sounds, I find myself sticking around for the pizza—it’s that good. The combination of community, sports, and truly satisfying food makes Brunos the kind of place you keep coming back to, year after year. A true Aspen legend.
We came here right after skiing and got a seat at the bar. We were greeted with beers and our pizza came within 15 minutes of ordering. Before I could ask for the check the bartender knew and handed it to me. They anticipated our needs amazingly and the pizza was excellent & light. Thank you for the great service and food!
OMG love Brunelleschi’s so much!!! Delicious pizza 🍕 best ever and the lasagne and scampi are amazing too. Great atmosphere, family friendly, unpretentious. Hockey Bar!!! Go Blackhawks! Get there now!
I've been going to Brunelleschi's for over ten years. Their pizza is the best. Thin crust just like Italy. Service is always friendly and quick. It's a casual, laid back atmosphere which is not always easy to find in Aspen.
Food, service and atmosphere was incredible! Show the love Colorado! And say hello to the dopest bar tender in Colorado, Brendon! Hospitality was as good as it gets!!
I swung by specifically for the cannolis since my partner and I could never find them around town in the flatirons. When she saw this place had em and other reviews said they were incredible, we knew we had to check them out! And boy oh boy they are so damn good! On top of all that, Emily greeted me at the door and took care of me and I don’t think I’ve met someone sweeter, making the cannolis that much better!
Place was the absolute best if you’re looking for great food and that absolutely coolest most laid-back environment in Aspen you have to come here.. throw a dart at the menu anything you order is amazing.. I’m a little skeptical about the Owner though, just kidding he’s cool too 🐕 🐕
I had the most wonderful espresso martini! It had a hint of caramel and was absolutely delightful. It is the perfect spot to watch a football game and enjoy a drink with friends. The owner Gill is beyond friendly and makes you feel right at home.
I have been here a few times, and Brunelleschi’s bbq chicken pizza, paninis, and salads are delicious! I also enjoyed their raspberry sorbet and key lime pie. I can’t wait to try what else is on the menu. I also really enjoyed the ambiance and the beautiful view outside. The waitress, Michelle, was very kind, cheerful, and attentive to my table. Plus, food and drinks came out in a quick manner. I will be coming back here!
Such a gem of a spot in Aspen; the pizza is TO DIE FOR, best espresso martini I've ever had, and the service is 12/10. We met Gill, the owner, while sitting at the bar watching football and he's such a great, down to earth, fun guy.... the whole experience was just beautiful & we will absolutely be back every time we're in Aspen!
As someone with Celiac’s disease- Pascha was so attentive to my diet and very honest about the limitations of their kitchen. Food and drinks were great, service exceeded expectations.
Came to aspen for vacation! Got served very fast food was amazing! Service was amazing always asking if we were good! Highly recommend eating here!!!
Best Hockey/Avalanche bar to watch games. My favorite sports bar left in town. Good food, nice meatballs
I love this place. Every time we come to Aspen we come here. Owner is awesome, food is great and the service is spectacular. Will always be a regular
Had a wonderful time here last night. Every employee we encountered went above and beyond. The hostess had a positive attitude even though they were slammed and found us a table for 7 on a busy night. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly as was everyone else. And we all enjoyed our meals especially the carbonara with sausage. Very thankful!
The staff did an amazing job of accompanying our group of 6 adults and six children. Our server Kate was so on top of it, and the food kept flowing, as did drinks. The food was excellent no one was disappointed. We will return for sure.
Sat out on the patio for a nice summer night dinner. Lot of choices on the menu but ended up getting Bruno’s Meat Pizza as a calzone. It came out not looking like any calzone I’ve ever had, but it was very good and cooked well with a nice crisp on the crust. My only complaint is the portion for the price, a personal calzone costing roughly $30 ($28) seems insane, but it is Aspen.
We dined-in for lunch and we ordered a asparagus risotto, chicken piccata, killer carbonara with shrimp. The kids had make ur own pizza, and they were happy with the thin base, marinara and cheese. The portion sizes were decent and could be shared within 2 people if you go in with a light appetite. . Killer carbonate was..the...best carbonara i ever had. Creamy, tasty, bacony, it was amazing.!!! The chicken Piccata could have been little more flavour-rich. The risotto was delicious and maybe a little extra al-dente.!! Bt i didn't mind.. Absolutely recommend killer carbonara.!!!
1/21/26 finally made it back for X and dinner with the guys. Calamari for the table - perfectly cooked! I had the Highlands calzone, really good and a nice size too. Good service & separate checks not an issue. Everyone enjoyed their meal. 2/6/23 back for dinner. I had the fettuccine Sofia w/chicken - it was good. The GF had a pizza and my friend had spaghetti and meatballs. Pretzel bread was really pizza dough... 1/18/22 Finally back and the food is still good. Service is good as well. I had the shrimp linguine - good w/6 nice sized shrimp. My friends had spaghetti and meatballs and "Spaghizza" Pizza with pasta on top- both good. The garlic bread was good too, just want more for $11 !
Good Italian place to have dinner in Aspen. Atmosphere is friendly but a bit noisy because of music and crowds of customers. Cool
Great experience and the food was really good... staff was training on the job so there were some mix-ups as far as orders went... overall good time, and good food.
Not much to say , it was a bit pricey and they collected the tip on the check. The food was good but small portions we order meat pizza 8-10 carbonara 8-10 lasagna 7-10 shrimp scampi 7-10 we ended up paying close to 350 with 2 alcoholic beverages
Great Italian place with good choices for a family with kids and picky eaters. The food was good bordering on great. The service was top and definitely the standout feature of this restaurant. Reasonable prices for Aspen. Was a great choice for us.
We ordered lasagna, veal parmigiana, and shrimp fettuccine. All three pasta portions were small, but my fettuccine was notably tiny. It felt like the chef ran out of pasta and sent the dish out anyway. The sauce was ample, enough for 30% more pasta, and the shrimp portion was adequate. The food tasted fine, though not exceptional. For the first time, I felt compelled to complain about portion size to our server. The owner was kind enough to address my concern, explaining that the town is encouraging restaurants to reduce food waste. However, my portion was insufficient, barely suitable for a child, let alone an adult, especially after a day outdoors. Despite good service, I wouldn’t return to this restaurant based on the portion sizes alone. At $38 for a plate of pasta—a fair price in Aspen—I was surprised by the tiny amount. I don’t mind paying higher prices, but the portions need to be reasonable without customers having to complain.
The my lasagna was basically nothing spectacular for being in Aspen, CO. I also ordered the Ajax pizza, again it was simple, no wow factor here. The service, the presentation of the restaurant was on point. Very friendly staff and the food came out fast, maybe to fast.
The prices are okay, but I would spend more for a better experience. The marinara is good, spaghetti good, calamari was not good. And the chicken parmigiana dry. Also, salads are only dinner portion, no sides and no halves.
Does this look like prosciutto to you? No? Me neither. No ingredient in this pizza tasted good. The arugula was tasteless, parmesan tasteless, prosciutto was like cheap breakfast ham, and there was no tomato sauce and crust was not good. Our server was nice. Atmosphere was fine. And I know this is Aspen. But still. Paying $30 for this pizza felt like we were being taken advantage of. Do not recommend.
We dined here with hopes of a solid Italian restaurant in the heart of Aspen’s dining district but found a restaurant that fell short. We ordered a pizza and the veal parmesan. The veal was soggy, and the pasta was egregiously overcooked to the point of forming a dough ball in my mouth. The pizza was a paper thin crust with too much cheese. The iced tea had a very strange taste and was not the quality you would expect from a restaurant such as this. Even though it is off season, we still expected a high quality meal. The service and atmosphere were excellent.
We had enjoyed meals here a half dozen times when visiting Aspen in the past but this was one of the most disappointing meals we've ever had and we definitely won't ever eat here again. First off, the prices listed on their website are way below the actual restaurant prices (eggplant parm is $23 on the website but $31 on their menu). The food came extremely quickly, but the fact that they can make eggplant parm in five minutes means it was clearly not freshly made and the eggplant was a disgusting, tasteless pile of mush. I realize that we're in Aspen but the kids meals are $16 which is absurd for 50 cents worth of buttered noodles. The $20 cheese pizza was basically a flavorless cracker with a thin layer of melted cheese. None of the food had any flavor and for $100 we could've eaten at any of the actual Italian restaurants nearby. A completely disappointing experience and a total waste of money.
I was in Aspen for the weekend and I was looking for something reasonable for dinner. I like Italian food so this place seemed like a good choice. I kept it basic and simple: spaghetti and meatballs with calamari appetizer. If you can't do that right, you don't get to call yourself an Italian restaurant. The calamari was really good. Crispy on the outside and soft and mildly chewy (in a good way). Not much on the seasoning side but a little salt and I was happy. Then came the spaghetti. The first plate I got, my 3 meatballs were cold.l, so I sent them back. So this leads me to believe that they get microwaved instead of sitting in a hot dish full of sauce waiting for an order. Dry, weirdly textured meatballs that tasted like they were home made by a robot. These had to be like Kirkland meatballs you get out of a bag from Costco. That's what they tasted like. To their credit, they plated a whole new order and the meatballs were hot the second time around, just not very good. Again, they looked and tasted like cheap store bought meatballs. The sauce was kind of boring. I had to salt everything to get some flavor going. It was good, but 30 bucks good? No way. That was cafeteria spaghetti at 4 star restaurant prices. Work on that recipe! And for Luigis sake, make your meatballs better! Talk to an Italian person! They are balls of meat! Come on!
The calamari we had was seriously the worst ever! It was so overpriced and didn't taste good at all. And to top it off, we waited for a whole 20 minutes at the table just for the server to come and take our order. Talk about slow service. By the way, check out this picture of one of their pizzas. Can you believe they charge $30 for this? Ridiculous! I mean, I have to give them credit for using some kind of cutting-edge laser technology to make this kind of pizza. It's definitely unique, I'll give them that.
I had high expectations for a venue in Aspen, but my experience was mixed. The food was satisfactory, but the cleanliness of the glassware and water jug was disappointing, necessitating a request for replacements. On a positive note, the host on duty during the evening was exceptional, accommodating us with a table of our preference. However, I was taken aback by the service from the Latino staff members, particularly since, being Mexican myself, we communicated in Spanish. Their service fell short of expectations. At one point, without an apology or inquiry, we were bluntly told to move as they needed our table, which was quite surprising. Additionally, while I was still dining and considering ordering more food, the bill was brought to our table, giving the impression that they wanted us out quickly. Based on this experience, I regret to say that I cannot recommend visiting this establishment.
Food was bland plus they forgot to add the chorizo to the rice Risoto so took long time for my brother to eat and it was just ok soso, then they burned the botton half of my lasagna which was also just ok before the burnt part, and the lentil soup tasted like water with hard lentils , the waitres was sweet. But the lady that attended to my complaints seemed mad at me that i shared my experience. No customer service from her. But weiters and weitreses nice. Would not recommend u go here! Under new management:( oh and way more expensive than it shows online
First the positive remark - very courteous, pleasant server. The food is memorably horrible. I had lasagne, my husband had eggplant Parmesan. The lasagne was a goop of too much, not good cheese that blanketed and smothered whatever else (not discernible) was in the dish. The eggplant Parmesan included what appeared to be leftover spaghetti and a couple of sad pieces of leftover eggplant, all glued together with too much cheese. Including a cocktail and glass of wine the dinner, including tip, cost $120. We have hearty appetites and were hungry after a day of fishing and a long walk, looking forward to a good meal. I ate less than half of the lasagna, my husband had a couple of bites of the eggplant parm. Amazing that this place stays in business!
This is the worst restaurant I’ve been to in years. I had eggplant parmigiana. It came on a pile of spaghetti with some kind of red sauce. You know how leftover spaghetti kind of shreds into little bits when you heat it up? That’s what this was like. Mush. As for the eggplant, it was probably cooked last summer. If you had blindfolded me I would have guessed I was served Spaggettios from a can.
Our reservation was for 8:30 PM. At 9:15 PM we ordered more pizzas and were informed that the kitchen had already closed, including for desserts. We were not notified of the closing, as is customary. We have been customers for twelve years and have never received such terrible service. We left the restaurant hungry. Never again.
