Ordered lunch from there a few times (normally the Italian sub), and it's always been great. The breadn and meat tastes fresh, and their olive oil is delicious. Excellent, reliable place.

Gary is the best. I needed a platter for my friend and her family due to her dad's passing and Gary made the wraps quickly and was very accommodating. I was told the wraps and salad were great!

Simply the best Italian Deli in Astoria. Why? Count how many "piccole Nonne" are ordering at the counter at any given time. You have a great shot at fresh, WARM mozzarella, made fresh throughout the day, and there is always a great selection of home made entrees in the freezer case if you don't have time to cook. Much of the inventory is EXACTLY the same you find at Eataly in Manhattan without the ridiculous markup on price. Almost like being in Italia--- ANDIAMO!

This is my go-to neighborhood Italian deli that never disappoints. Their cold cut s are top quality. I always get some prosciutto when I'm there, along with their string bean and potato salad, some fresh bread and some of their Italian grocery items. Service is exceptionally friendly, The counter individuals know people by name, that is so rare in this day and age. Prices are extremely reasonable especially for the quality of the products you're getting. I find myself stopping by at least once a week.. This is such a neighborhood gem!

Fantastic sandwiches and friendly service. You can tell it’s a local establishment because the staff greeted several customers by name as they came in. We got sandwiches to eat at the little tables inside but they also have catering and tons of prepared food (like frozen/refrigerated you cook at home) available. Pay cash to save on the credit card service fee at the checkout. Highly recommend!

Great beverage selection. Owner is a genuine and friendly guy who works the counter and provides exceptional quality food at very reasonable prices. Litterally the opposite of 90% of astoria eaterys , that are basically get rich quick scams with high prices and low quality food. This is the only deli I use. Typical old school Italian deli. Best place for cold cuts on Broadway. Homemade roast beef. Raviolis and pastas in freezer are great. Good store. Reasonable prices as well. Can't go wrong.

This spot is an absolute treasure and hasn't disappointed in my 10 years in Astoria. No hype, no nonsense and some of the best cold cut sandwiches and imported/homemade products available anywhere! Great staff with a seriously authentic neighborhood vibe. Don't snooze and make the effort to visit instead of ordering.

Can’t speak for anything but the sandwiches, as I ordered delivery. I got the Italian specialty sandwich and sausage and pepper hero; holy smokes these were the most delicious sandwiches I’ve had in a decade!! You can tell the meats are premium, the bread is fresh, and even the veggies inside were remarkable. Then you add the fact the food arrived quick?! Lastly, as someone who’s been in NYC their whole life, this food was quintessentially New York.

The staff is kind hearted. The sandwiches are memorable and unique with homemade ingredients. They have Italian import and fresh frozen ravioli and premade dinners. The prices for soup are really good. Get cream and sugar if you're doing iced coffee - but they do everything else right, they more than earn 5 stars.

We moved from Bushwick in October 2020 and so happy I stumbled past this deli. We are fans of a really good sandwich and this was a little gem that we happily discovered. The owner and staff and very friendly and make Astoria feel like a neighborhood. We order from here at least every other week. Never disappointed!

We’ve been going here for almost three years now. We are always greeted with a smile and we are always very happy with our sandwiches. One tip is to call to order pickup as it sometimes a little bit of time for them to make the sandwich. Highly recommend!!

Good portioned heros but they’re overlooked as the paisans plug on Broadway for whatever old country cuts you need. Salami, mortadella, gabagool - your taste buds will be dancing like they just did a line in the valet lot. No agida here

This is a place you go for your cold cuts and good Italian delicacies they they have. The people are friendly and the food is always fresh and awesome. They have lots of frozen meals if you need to just stop in for something. All their cold cuts are fresh and their mozzarella is made fresh on premises. Everyone is awesome and always willing to help. They have been around for many years and I hope they are around for many more.

Amazing place for a deli sandwich. Traditional style, that take a long time and are a tad gruff by they use the best ingredients and will even suggest something a bit better than you’re aware of when making a prepared sandwich. Otherwise meats and cheeses are I point, definite Italian style with a friendly staff. Definite recommend!!

The owner (or person making my sandwich) made sure to tell me that they followed the request and didn’t add extra oil, it would just be from the sun dried tomatoes and I truly appreciate it. Macaroni salad was just macaroni and mayo, super cheap and super simple. Will be going back to pick up passata sauce whenever I make my bolognese! Love the store.

The Imported Canada Prosciutto is so good !! Smoked Mozzarella and Roasred peppers mmmmm !! On point staff is friendly! Only issue i had was ordered over the phone and the guy was rude and wouldn't give me a time frame 1 hr 2 hr nothing at all so I went there same issue with 3 other people that were waiting 1 hour no food . Little unorganized due to covid hopefully service is better now will find out soon er the. Later !

This place is an institution. If you’re in Astoria there is no better spot for an Italian sandwich. But the pro move is a Bacon Egg and cheese on a roll. They make it perfectly. Great staff, the owner is always there and is really fun to talk to. This place is the best.

This place is old school. Its been around since i was in middle school across the street. I love it so much and its a tradition of mine to get my favorite sandwich: Imported prosciutto, fresh mozzarella lettuce and mayo on a semolina hero Its the absolute best in town ! Highly recommend you call and order ahead these crafted sandwiches take 15-20 minutes to make The ice coffee is also great. i will warn you, everything is little pricey but well worth the extra bucks

Well stocked true Italian deli with mostly Italian imports as well as an occasional American brand of coldcut or cheese. Five varieties of prosciutto to choose from and extremely sharp aged provolone and parmesagna are the real deal. Long serving deli staff are friendly and attentive, knowing their customers and their preferences. Around the holidays the deli has all the traditional Christmas foods especially panettone galore! The tops of the shelves fill with hundreds of Italian panettone of many elegant varieties: limoncello, hazelnut, pistachio, latte, nutella, even gluten free ppannetone. Prices are a little higher than surrounding import markets but not unmanageable so. This deli is a treasure of Broadway and a perennial favorite.

We used them for our catering at my baby shower without even trying. Blown away! The food was phenomenal. Our guests loved all of the items we ordered. My favorite deli in the whole of New York! Sandwiches are always fantastic and flavorful, good portions, and good proportions of meat to veg. Great selection of drinks, chips, etc. Lots of authentic Italian groceries, snacks, etc. And a great fresh mozzarella/frozen fresh pasta/frozen homemade dinner section. Yum. Awesome experience! I needed an assorted sandwich/wrap platter for a funeral the following day - and was pressed for time. I found D&F Deli on-line, called and placed an order. What a great experience! The owner Gary was super pleasant and helpful - and knew exactly what I needed. My platter was beautiful - a lovely assortment of turkey, ham, roast beef etc. The wraps were individually wrapped (perfect for covid-times) and the display was perfect. As for the taste? Wonderful! Every wrap was eaten - and the platter was left empty. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed them! I couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. Thank you so much D&F Deli!

Got myself a different meats and boy oh boy did I have myself a party. The prosciutto was sliced to perfection and the roast beef was the perfect rarity. I also picked up some of their house made sauce for a pizza I made and it was so good. Highly recommend this place. Usually I'm deathly terrified of any kind of butcher or deli but the guys were chill!

Classic Italian deli. They have all the best cuts including Boars Head and will make any type of wrap/sandwich you're looking for. They have a great selection of veggies too - including banana peppers.

They made me a great sandwich. The only issue I had was that the chips were stale. I should have looked at the date.

Came here after seeing some recommendations on their sandwiches. Was pretty spicy & good. Would get again and try more. While I waited I noticed they also sell premade pasta dishes in the fridge which were only $12 which ill keep in mind for the future.

Love this place, great sandwiches and hilarious staff. I really like the unique items available either homemade or from Italy. Frequently busy, only four stars because I can't give 4.5 and I prefer another deli more.

This place was really nice, lovely goods, nice selection, but my sandwich was fairly disappointing, nothing special. Ordered the #6 and wondering if I got the wrong thing. Nothing tasted super fresh and the bread wasn’t that great. For such a highly rated place I was hoping for more.

Good service and selection but they sold me old mozeralla that had the texture of a sponge, very disappointed. Other than that staff were friendly and they had everything expected.

Sandwich is very good like the chicken and love the prosciutto and cheese, but I think they skimmed on the portions by a lot. This is $16.42 chicken cutlet with prosciutto and cheese hero. I just think for the price I’m paying they aren’t really packing the sandwich up it’s like 75% bread and 25% everything else. Staff was really kind but yeah sandwich is a bit thin. But all of their ingredients were pretty good in my opinion

I ordered a bag of chips, the number one and some dry salami. The dry salami was incredible and I noticed that the store has amazing selections to cook fresh mozzarella, etc. but as I said, I ordered the number one and the sandwich was all bread. There was literally like no meat on it and it was $14. I will never be back here again because I can’t believe they only gave me a few slices of meat! Really disappointed, not an authentic NYC Italian deli sandwich at all.

I was not trying to write this review but unfortunately it needs to be done. The sandwiches are really good. But i keep finding Hair in my sandwiches. It’s really gross. I used to purchase sandwiches everyday till I found a hair in my food. I stopped going for months. Decided to give them another chance & spoke with a employee stating I used to buy everyday but I found a hair in my food can u please make a sandwich without hair. The sandwich he made was good. So i decided to buy one the next day smh. Inspected the food took a bite didn’t find a hair in the center of the sandwich like last time. But there was one on the side. This will be my last purchase from them.

Long ago this deli was very good.It has definitely changed and I think its going downhill.The cold cuts are so so And the mozzeralla balls were horrible .They were spoiled & had to throw out container .The staff that is working now are not professional &not so knowledgeable. It used to be so nice when Dominick was working there & another man name Charlie- such wonderful men .Miss them

Beware if you have any food allergies or sensitivities. I explicitly told the employee multiple times that I needed smoked turkey that was not spicy, and he gave me a spicy turkey cold cut, insisting it was not spicy. Went back to return it, and the same guy gave me a hard time. He insisted that I said I wanted something with a little bit of spice, which is completely untrue since I'm not able to eat anything even slightly spicy due to my health condition. He then gave me less of the actual turkey I asked for in the first place and also did not let me speak with the owner/manager. This interaction didn't sit well with me, especially since some people's allergies can be deadly, and it felt as if I was treated as an inconvenience when I went back instead of making it more of an effort to make it right to me as a client and there was no apology from this particular employee. Unfortunately, I have been shopping here for years, but I probably won't be back after this horrible experience.
