This has to be one of the best places to get food. Not only is it cost effective but you get more than you pay for. I live out in the middle of long Island but I drive all the way here just because of how addicted I am. My favorite thing has to be all the options, so many healthy options to choose from but my favorite has to be the chicken soulvlaki platter. Not only is there great food but such a great vibe with friendly staff. If it was closer I would eat here every day.

I just ordered the Half All White Meat Chicken Meal with Side Selections: Baked Sweet Potato and Extras --Green Sauce ( 3 oz.) --Grape Leaves (8 piece) It was the best chicken ever! It was made to perfection. The pita was hot as was the sweet potato and green leaves and the green sauce is perfect! I just moved to the area and this is THE SPOT MY SPOT. Just ordered for the first time and wow! Food was absolutely delicious! Ordered 1/4 chicken 1/4 ribs & sweet potato Could not finish it all that sweet potato so soft but HUGE! On the down side no utensils or napkins given and when i asked for butter for the potato they gave me one of those small pats of butter like you get at a diner but they put it right next to the hot sweet potato which was covered in foil and yep you guessed it liquid butter all over the plate & foil. They do give you a little cup of BBQ sauce which i.picked...they should do the same for the butter. All in all a great meal will order again 😊😊😊

Good eats, real cheap. The 1/2 chicken meal is a good deal. The chicken sandwich is on really good grilled pita bread. Both their regular fries and their sweet potato fries are fantastic. They should bring back their coleslaw. My daughter says that was really good too!

I loved it and it was a decent price for the neighborhood. I got the burrito but it was more like a taco 🥣 than an actual burrito. In the end it was a better choice. The red birch beer soda was a great way to wash it down afterwards.

Let me say this: I've eaten at a lot of chicken places around the world and for some reason, this grilled chicken at Astoria's Chicken Shack is THE BEST CHICKEN I've eaten. Hands down. No debate. I eat here regularly. I'm talking multiple times a week. I eat at the restaurant and I order delivery sometimes. It's the best. The chicken is moist and tender. You can see the chef make it right in front of you on the flame grill so you know IT IS VERY FRESH! It has a delicious flavor to it and the sauces complement the chicken very well. I always go for the half-chicken on the value menu ($13) because you can't get a meal better than it! It is SO HEALTHY! You are given a side salad which is fresh and you are also given another side of your choice. In addition to all of that (the chicken, the sauces, the salad, and the side), you are also given pita bread with it! This place is simply the best! I absolutely love the sweet potato fries too! THE SWEET POTATO FRIES ARE SO GOOD!!! You need to try them. They are delicious, crispy, and bursting with flavor. The combination of the half-chicken with the sweet potato fries is literally unbeatable. The price is also amazing. VERY AFFORDABLE. I absolutely love coming here. I also want to say that the manager of the shop is a great guy and everyone that works with him is also very helpful and respectful. I feel at home when I'm eating at this place! I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Chicken Shack!

Pretty decent spot with very delicious BBQ chicken and ribs. Place is a tad bit on the small side but there weren't a lot of people inside so it was easy for me to sit in and eat. The lady behind the counter while not really friendly was polite and served me in adequate and proper time. I ordered the 1/4 Chicken and Ribs along with rice and beans, pita bread and a dessert of chocolate pudding on the side. The entree really hit the spot, the ribs were so tender and juicy and so was the chicken. I enjoyed that meal but it filled me up a bit too proper, I didn't have much room for dessert so I took it home with me. My order overall was $25 and I say it was pretty decent. I enjoyed my meal here.

I went there in person, and I showed up absolutely starving, hoping for something good and they definitely came through. I’m actually a returning customer. I moved away for a bit, but now I’m back in the area, and it felt great to return to the same awesome food. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Platter, and it was honestly one of the best meals I’ve had in a while super fresh, flavorful, and fast. They’ve got a Grade A rating, which you can tell from how clean and well-kept the place is. The staff was really friendly too .. Overall, great food, great service, and solid vibes. Definitely recommend!

Food is good Greek food and they give you loads. A little slow because they prepare on order. Order ahead is available. Ask for the fries on the side or they can get soggy in a platter.

Ehh. I got the chicken souvlaki platter. It took close to 30 min for them to make. It was decent but pretty small for $15.

Ordered quarter chicken meal, received chicken cutlets meal, it was a little disappointing and too much food for one. I couldn't understand what the young lady who took my order was saying, she was too busy looking at her phone to ask if everything was ok and I just couldn't be bothered trying to ask why I was given the wrong meal (I had a cold, it was just one of those days). Despite this, I do believe that if you want to eat chicken, the best place to go is a chicken joint like this.

I got a grilled chicken cutlet meal with fries and I was not impressed. Perhaps I'd have a better luck with Charcoal Broiled Chicken. This is a grab and go place. They do have a seating area but I'd not eat inside. I went in during summer time and it was hot in there.

Speedy service. Friendly counter person. I ordered a variety of meals on the menu. I was not pleased. My chicken tenders were a nice size, but where over cooked and hard. My side salad was fresh and the Italian dressing was delicious. They gave me a nice amount of sweet plantains. The sweet potato fries were undercooked. I also ordered arroz con pollo which was a little salty. The side of veggies were decent.

I went during lunch time since I was in the area the other and I got a italian style chicken sandwhich, the chicken was a bit dry and the peices in the sandwhich were a bit thin and smaller than I would have liked, plus the tsaziki sauce they had was way too thick due to veggies in it that were long strands, the sandwhich all in all was just ok, and for 17$ roughly for just a sandwhich and drink I was expecting more.

These guys don't know what buffalo wings are.. instead of being fried and then doused in a hot wing sauce, they're just fried and the crust has a dry spice blend. I thought they just mixed up my order.. Nope! They just don't know the difference. To be honest, it was good fried chicken, but don't put buffalo wings on the menu if you don't know what buffalo wings are. 3 stars because they actually gave a refund through GrubHub.

I really love this place the hamburgers are great but I’m giving 2 stars to this places because today I went to buy a hamburger to take out and the person who took my order was not polite she was rude and she forgot to put my order in she told me that she was very busy but when I came in the restaurant and I placed my order they were empty then she told my you hamburger is medium well and told my do you wanted or not then I ask for the manager and she told me I’m the manager knowing that she is not the manager I ended waiting for mi order over 30 minutes they really need to select better they employees and training them how they have to treat the costumers.

I'm second time eating there the first time was ok, So I ordered cause I didn't have any food in my fridge, I ordered last minute at night I tipped ahead , they couldn't even deliver it , they text me and left a picture of it outside on the ground . There is no way , they're serious. Why will I eat food off the NYC ground ?!? They didn't knock on the door , they didn't call. They just took my credit card information and hung up , didn't even tell me how long it would take, and text me " delivery" with a picture of my food on the ground outside . What disgusting behavior. Leaving someone's food outside on the ground. No attempt to actually deliver it is insane. Losing a customer you JUST got , and the food , I only had it once because I didn't even eat food left on the ground , is worth about half the price they're charging.

Was giving spoiled Green sauce that I paid for ! You need to put dates on your sauces so you can insure freshness when servicing to customers . Very unacceptable

Terrible Service ! Customer service does not exist in this “establishment”. Stay away from this place if you want to save any of your patience. Otherwise you’ll be left talking on the phone for 30 minutes just so they can say you’re too far for delivery. Very unprofessional.

My elderly father called to place an order for a family of 3. The price came out to $98 we called back to confirm the price and the price remained so we cancelled the order. We were trying to avoid Bel aire diner prices. But we ended up calling Bel aire ordering the same thing. The Price came out to $45 and change. I'm not sure if staff at Chicken shack staff are over charging and pocketing money or if the prices were straight from the owner. Either way Chicken Shack has lost our trust

Very low quality chicken, similar to what you get at McDonald’s. I got the tenders and it was overcooked and had no flavor to it. Even the fries were bad. I definitely do not recommend this place for its low quality expensive chicken. Save yourself the disappointment and go to chubby burger instead.

This place is horrible. I told them I wanted a plate of BBQ chicken and a little salad on the side. They did the opposite. They put 1 tiny piece of chicken and stuffed 95% of the plate with salad. I'll never be eating here again.

Chicken is dry and lacks flavor. Personally offended that they serve cold gravy. Mac and cheese very mid. Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store has more flavor.... When comfort food makes you sad you are doing something wrong. There was no alcohol involved.Chicken went straight into the trash.

A year ago this place was great. Recently I have gotten dry chicken, chewy ribs, and sides that have no taste. I don't know how you mess up mashed potatoes or Mac and Cheese but, each time they had no flavor. The chicken and ribs used to be juicy but again the past few times dry and chewy.

All sides ordered were terrible. Their flavor, texture, and consistency reminded of left overs, but old left overs. It's as if I was given a week old container of food that someone put into a microwave and nuked then handed to me and said it was made today. Also, shouldn't mac and cheese have cheese? Edit: Scrolling through the other real reviews, it's hilarious that many of them agree on the mac and cheese.

Never order from this restaurant again! This girl cashier who took my order is very rude. I ordered half of BBQ chicken, half of baby back ribs and fries. When the food is ready she hand the bag. I asked if there was any sauce in the bag. She shrugged like she didn’t not know so I checked. There was no sauce so I asked for 2 of BBQ sauce. She handed one with the look like I was bagging for the sauce. Then I said I need 2 for both chicken and ribs. She said you had to for extra sauce. Really? I just paid $27.76 for dried tasteless ribs and I cannot even get a small cup of sauce that I entitled, too. Keep your dried Ribs. There are many restaurants that provide great service and better in Astoria.

I order from this place all the time. They are expensive. I had an issue with my seemless order and when I called to tell them about my issue the guy who picked the phone was very nasty to me. He told me that if I don’t know how to order I shouldn’t. He said that I was the only one to complain. Do not order from this place. I’m a good customer and that’s how you treat a person. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would!!!

I ordered the chicken fingers meal. I did not receive the pita bread or salad but was charged for a meal. I asked for honey mustard sauce but received what looked like applesauce. The rice and beans were okay because it is not your typical rice I believe it is basmati rice but it taste like they put a pound of butter in it. I have ordered here before but I surely will not be going back.

They served the bowl of salad with only 1 spoon of rice and some chicken on the top.. If I knew that they would do this I wasn't going to spend my money.. It's too late to solve the problem..
