Opinions de Eatzy Thai Astoria
Was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did. This is an all-you-can-eat Halal Korean BBQ restaurant ($40 per person). Your reservation gives you 1.5hr of all you can eat chicken, beef, shrimp, noodles, and more. The flavor on the meat marination was SO good. We also loved the noodle soup base. The environment outside is fantastic and service was great. There's also vegetarian options in their separate menu for those in your group who don't want meat. All the food was really, really good. Plus Halal Korean BBQ is so rare, so we really enjoyed the opportunity and experience of Korean BBQ. Service is super quick and kind. Overall highly recommend!
Excellent service!! I was going with my family to hotpot dinner and the service was amazingly outstanding. All the staff members were very welcoming and nice especially Mr. Taher. He was a very nice and welcoming person and helped us with a lot of things. He kept on replacing our iron pan when he it started to become black, he helped us with getting more food and replacing it, and he helped us with adjusting the hotpot’s fire the way we like it. Mr. Taher was also a very honest person, when we were going home, Mr. Taher saw that we forgot one of our things so he called us back and notified us about it to take it back. Overall Mr. Taher and all the other staff helped us a lot, and the food was delicious, highly recommend this place to dine at.
My friend and I walked in here hoping to get Thai food about 2 hours before closing. The host informed us that they have KBBQ for $30 a person and we thought it was a great deal and ended up going with the KBBQ menu instead. We weren't expecting the KBBQ to also include K-Pot, which really sealed the deal for us. The food was actually also phenomenal. All the meats were marinated. They offered free sides + refills of the fries, drunken noodles and fried rice, as well as the kimchi. It was a really great portion for an even better price. The K-Pot was one of the best I've had. We learned that the chef actually lived in Korea for about a decade and hence why the entire vibe felt so authentic. I really enjoyed the food and the service was also really great. Despite us walking in 2 hours before closing, there was no rush to kick us out. In fact, they kept asking if we wanted more refills. We will definitely be returning here.
Ordered delivery via GrubHub. The lunch specials were a good deal and come very neatly packed in a divided box. I loved the Pad See Ew (drunken noodles). The chicken lollipops were nice and crunchy and popped right off the bone.
I’ve been coming here quite a few times for their steak and salmon; both are always delicious! Their noodle dishes are great, and I recently tried the KBBQ, which was excellent. Their fried rice is packed with flavor, and every bite of any dish is just mesmerizing. For the price, you get a generous portion and always leave feeling full and satisfied. It can get a bit crowded at times, but that just shows how popular and well-loved this place is. The staff are very friendly, and the food and drinks are top tier in my opinion. Highly recommend!
(This is for the korean bbq and hotpot) The food was AMAZING!! I especially loved the Korean BBQ beef, but everything in general was great. The servers were also very attentive and refilled our meats and sides when we ran out. Bonus points for it being halal. There was also a great variety of drinks and unique mocktails, absolutely amazing, I will definitely be coming back!!
We made reservations and had the Halal Korean BBQ. As far as halal options go, the meats were very well flavored and cuts were really good, though could be a little better. The service was amazing with the guy serving us going way above and beyond to take care of us. He explained how to make the soups, cut all the beef and with a smile replenished any item we ran out of. The kids loved the flavors and so did the adults. Price is very fair for the quality - just one caution that seating is outside (we did not fully appreciate this during an evening of a heatwave) so may want to factor that in. Will be back!
Halal Korean BBQ: A Family-Friendly Feast !! I recently visited Eatzy Thai with my family and let me tell you, this is the spot to go for Halal Korean BBQ in the Queens and Long Island area. Staff super nice and friendly. We talked and confirmed everything is Halal, so no worry there. Outdoor seating they got, so make sure to check the weather. If it's summer, evening time is best. You can book online, but don't be late, they're strict about timing. Food? Amazing! The soup and BBQ items are standout. Rice, not so much my thing, didn't like the taste. But hey, it's all-you-can-eat. They give you plenty, but you can ask for more if you want. Planning to go back in winter for sure. This is the place to enjoy quality time with family and satisfy your Halal Korean BBQ cravings.
Loved eating at Eatzy Thai. They have a cozy interior and the seats were comfy enough. We didn't have to wait to get the seats and we didn't do any reservations beforehand. The dishes were tasty enough, the Pad thai being the best of the order. We also loved the mixed sizzler, it was very finely cooked and the spice balance was just perfect. Two tables were full including ours, and there was only one lady attendant who took care of the entire place. Though she was getting a bit delayed, but she was very efficient with taking orders, and catering to customer's needs. would definitely love to visit again!
I came here with my friend because it is Halal and this was my first time dining in with her in this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice. It is a small store however they do have seating in the back as well. One thing I did not like how the restaurant had a weird smell the food was good, but I feel like I had better especially beef Ramen ehhh. our server was nice and he helped us out when we needed help. The spice is nice here as well but definitely would come back again. We got the chicken, lollipop, beef, Ramen, and drunken noodles.
After a relatively positive prior visit, I had a terrible and embarrassing experience when I came back with a friend, with our dinner session overshadowed by foul and nauseating fumes; we first noticed the nasty rotting smell coming from the Tom Yum Soup we ordered (which we sent back and fortunately were not charged for), and then throughout our dinner we smelled similar nasty fumes coming from the kitchen; the staunch smell was so disgusting that I almost vomited a few times. Perhaps I didn't notice the smell the previous time due to sitting further away from the kitchen. The lollipop chicken was pretty good and the pad Kee Mao was decent, but it's hard to enjoy any food when you are constantly being exposed to fumes with a smell similar to those of rotting food or smelly feet.
I've been here about 4 times now and I will not be coming back. We had their KBBQ again and for some reason, their heat is never "working". So not only did we eat in the cold, the waiter fella denied our ask to turn on the second stove at our table (each table has 2 stoves) despite us saying we need it to cook our chicken and beef separately. All in all, very bad customer service. Food is okay but paying $30 per person, you're not getting great quality meat. They know that imposing an automatic tip is the only reason they got as much as they did.
I should have believed all the bad reviews but stubbornly gave this place a try. Unfortunately, the comments about the weird smell in the restaurant are accurate—it’s noticeable as soon as you walk in and sets the tone for the meal. We ordered the chicken lollipop, which wasn’t bad. The tom yum soup is what I was looking forward to, however, had the same off-putting smell as the restaurant and tasted rotten. After one spoonful, we had to send it back. The chicken red curry was okay, but the portion of chicken was small, and the rice serving was small—we ended up ordering a side of fried rice just to finish the curry. On a positive note, the chicken pad kee mao was good. The Thai iced tea, though, was mostly ice and not creamy enough, which was disappointing. The service was lackluster, with only one waitress working the whole restaurant. It took forever to get our order taken, and the overall experience felt disorganized. To top it off, the “cash discount” policy penalizes you for paying with a credit card—something every business owner should factor into their cost of doing business instead of passing it on to customers. Overall, not a great experience. The smell is unappetizing, and it’s hard to enjoy your food when you feel like you need to cautiously sniff every dish. I really hope they address these issues.
I don’t really understand this restaurant at all. They offer Thai but also Korean BBQ? I would rather have them specialize in Thai since it’s in the name. The services of the waiters are good, they’re nice and explain the food very well. However, the sanitation grade is a B with 28 violations, on the border of being a C (28+ is a C), but they do not post this grade for the public so everyone eating here is being deceived. I’m writing this review for people who read reviews before eating here to avoid this place. Not worth it at all and the food is mediocre. Not only that but while we were eating we saw a medium sized roach crawling on the side of the wall and asked the waiter to kill it. Not only that, when I looked at the ceiling, two more larger roaches followed.
This place is problematic from top to bottom and I'll tell you why. Such a shame! As soon as you walk in, you'll immediately get hit with an awful smell in a space that is so conjusted that you'll bump into other diners. If you still want to give it a try since you're just curious to see what they have in store for a $10 AYCE, don't walk but run away from here. A heads up, they charge you for water without even informing you beforehand. I'm not aware which dine-in restaurants charge their diners for water? Not even in Manhattan and they're up with this crap here in Astoria? We ate halfway through and the staff never checked in, nor did he ask if we wanted to drink anything. When we requested for some water, he gave us a small packaged water bottle (we were three adults) and handed us a menu for drinks. After we were done eating and handed the check, we saw that the water was $2. What kind of deception is this? Why was it so difficult to inform us earlier that they charge for water? The Thai AYCE is such a fail. Just a reminder, this is not even an inch close to authentic Thai. The Fried Rice isn't cooked properly, it's dry, hard and chewy. Other dishes lack spices, seasoning and flavor. All of the dishes are also cold! And who mixes chicken and beef together to make a 'Thai Sizzler' or whatever? It seemed a joke. Labeling isn't done properly. There was a veggie label, we opened it to find fried rice. One label said Chili Chicken/Fish, we opened it and found no fish. That Chili Chicken was dry as hell and dunked in sauce. The overall taste is below average. Probably the only good thing was the Egg Chowmein. This place is poorly understaffed. Only one person who's the host, they're also the waitstaff, and they're also the person to pack to-go orders. I felt sorry for him.
Even with all the negative reviews I decided to give this place a try because I pass by it every day. Once again with my two kids and wife, we came for lunch. No1 there to greet us so we sat ourselves. They had about 6 to 7 dishes. Chilly chicken looked the most promising but was cold and hard as rock. Every single dish was awful. Don't recommend anyone to waste their 10 bucks here because it's a total waste just pay 10-15 more and go to a good buffet. Worst of all the waiter denied us tap water and said the boss said we can't serve tap water. I told him this might get him into legal problems so be careful. Once again, NEVER AGAIN Hate that I had to write such a bad review. I always find something good to throw in there but not this time
Ordered four plates total for take out, and each one had two pieces of beef. I have ordered from them before and I know that’s not usually the case. When I called the store to complain, they said they asked the chef and said it’s not true. I told them I have photo evidence, but he continued to be rude. The food was also more bland than usual. I don’t know if they changed the chef, but the food quality has decreased dramatically. Wouldn’t be ordering from here again.
Ordered 4 orders from uber eats. All have beef in it. I guess they wanted to bs the orders so they filled it completely with noodles with no exaggeration, 3 small pieces of meat. Called the restraunt to let them know. 0 customer service, doesn’t want to try and resolve the issue. He said “chef said he put it in.” I have ordered from here in person before and I know what the normal portions are and am 100% positive they ares skimping all of my orders. Highly do NOT recommend getting food here
