If you’re craving authentic Filipino flavors, Bakada Social Club is a fantastic find. I stopped in recently for a fix and was not disappointed. I ordered the Tapsilog (cured beef and egg) along with an order of Lumpia, and both were delicious and hit the spot. Beyond the food, the ambiance is a major plus—it’s stylish and welcoming without being overly noisy, making it a great place to actually hold a conversation. The staff provided excellent service, ensuring everything was taken care of throughout the meal. I left feeling very satisfied and am already planning to bring a group of friends back next time.

I went here on a Sunday afternoon for brunch and it has to be one of my favorite places to eat. The place was quiet at first, but more people came in an it started getting quite lively. The food was not only delicious but also flavorful. The staff were kind and attentive. I highly recommend the brunch menu with the bottomless drinks. The Bellini was great, but keep in mind that they no longer serve Sangrias.

Delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. The Ube Espresso Martini is light unique and refreshing. The lumpia was crisp to perfection with a slight zing to their sweet chilli sauce. My wife loved the homemade shrimp paste that came with the kare kare. Meals were well portioned for an amazing price. Everything is done with touches of authentic Filipino culture

Filipino food in Astoria, how refreshing and just what the neighborhood needed. Centrally located off the MTA, close to everything. This is your new chill, delicious neighborhood Filipino restaurant spot to hang out! This is a date spot, a solo chill at the bar "Cheers" spot, a bring your friends spot, a takeover the large back section and watch the game spot. Let's get to the food. Barkada gives you traditional Filipino comfort AND twist. You can have one, the other or both. Really comprehensive menu without being overwhelming, all dishes we ordered were done well. The star for me, hands down Sinigang Wings (hello dry rub with so much flavor and juicy tender chicken). I've not seen this before, it was familiar yet not, and they did it well! Also loved the pork bbq skewers, so flavorful, juicy you will wish you ordered more. Beef Kaldereta is also a Filipino favorite, it lasted me for a few days, generous portion. Lovedddd the calamansi mule! Staff was friendly and attentive, some staff Filipino and some not, which represents this neighborhood. It was a nice touch that the owner came by to say hello and thank us. It's clear this place wants to do stay long and keep people coming back. Sure it's a Filipino restaurant, which is special alone, but it's more, it's a place for people to have delicious comfort Filipino food, but also a space for the culture to be shared and enjoyed by all. Giemay - you did your thing, I want to see you and your team win and will be back because I need to have silog brunch in my lifeeeeee

It’s been a long time coming, but Astoria finally has an authentic Filipino joint! The food is delicious and the drinks are crafted with care, but what truly makes this place shine is the atmosphere. It feels warm, welcoming, and unhurried; the kind of spot where you can relax, take your time, and enjoy great conversations with friends while soaking in the vibe.

This restaurant is a hidden jewel on Broadway in Astoria. Specializing in Filipino cuisine the restaurant is inviting and cozy. We stopped in for a lunch date and had very refreshing Filipino lemonade and two appetizers: Barbecue pork skewers and Lumpia Shanghai crispy pork spring rolls. Both dishes were delicious. Our waiter Jay was very pleasant. Definitely plan on going back!

Went with my friends Friday night for dinner. We had the Heart of Palm Calamari, Dynamite, and Sinigang wings, we all enjoyed everything however everyone really liked the Sinigang Wings. We also highly recommend the Pork BBQ and Chicken Inasal skewers, personally I also enjoyed the Kwek Kwek. The food was amazing and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed some drinks which were all delicious. The dessert was also amazing

Finally what I’ve been waiting for!! A Filipino restaurant in Astoria:) I recommend their Sinigang wings, the pear burrata salad and mushroom adobo. Those were the stars for me as well as the attentive service. I just love how elevated the menu is but hits close to home at the same time. Being Filipino myself, I really love the representation and will be coming back for more!

The waitress was super sweet and helpful in making recommendations. The food was yummy and filling, with ample options to choose from in regard to meat, fish, and vegetarian options. We can’t say that the particular entrees we tried inspired bold, visible Filipino flavors … but they tasted good nonetheless and small businesses are doing their best. Desserts are 10/10!!!!

Barkada Social Club serves Contemporary Filipino-American Cuisine & can be added.to the lost of fantastic hang-out spots & eateries in Astoria, Queens. Barkada Social Club has 2 separate indoor dining spaces - a main larger area & a smaller one for private parties/ events. It is a clean establishment w/ minimalist decor, which is appreciated 👏🏿. Visiting on a Saturday afternoon, it was pleasantly surprising that it was not crowded and that it was Happy Hour. A Saturday Happy Hour is a qin-win situation! Bartender Jay & Server Joy were both delightful. Both of them are kind and attentive. Jay has great customer service skills and he makes good well-drinks. Barkada Social Club has a fantastic Happy Hour w/ nicely-priced well-drinks & cocktails. Pancit dish ($12) - Stir Fry Mix of Egg Noodles & Glass Noodles w/ Vegetables (I added Skirt Steak ($9) was absolutely delicious. Barkada Social Club plays cool background music. Looking forward to returning to have more fabulous cocktails and food.

Barkada is a Game Changer in Astoria! Just checked out Barkada, and I’m already hooked! The vibe is incredible—warm, inviting, and perfect for a night out with friends. The menu is packed with unique flavors, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. One standout was the Dynamite Crispy—a deliciously stuffed and fried pepper filled with ground meat and cheese. It had the perfect crunch and paired amazingly with their green sauce. Absolute 11/10! For drinks, the Weng Weng is a fantastic Filipino cocktail that goes down smooth, and their Manila Mule, a tropical twist on a Moscow Mule, was my personal favorite. Must-Have Orders: Truffle Fries – 10/10, perfectly crispy just how I like them. Calamari Heart of Palm – 8/10, great texture and flavor. Dynamite Crispy – 11/10, insanely good with the green sauce. Kilawin (Ceviche) – 9/10, way better than I expected! Garlic Chili Bok Choy – 8/10, super spicy and I love it! Adobo Wings – 9/10, solid stew-like flavor. Sinigang Wings – 10/10, absolutely amazing, getting that sour/savoury taste of the Filipino soup that shares that name. Filipino Pork BBQ – Really good, tastes better then some of the pork bbq served by my filipino friends mothers. The service was top-notch—friendly, attentive, and you can tell they put a lot of love into both the food and the experience. If you're looking for a fresh new spot in Astoria with amazing food, creative drinks, and great energy, Barkada is a must-visit. Already looking forward to my next meal here! 🍽️🍹🔥

My experience at Barkada was phenomenal. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was on point warm, welcoming, and full of energy. Every single bite of food was bursting with flavor, clearly made with love and intention. You can tell this place puts pride into every detail. And don’t even get me started on the karaoke, so much fun! It turned a great dinner into an unforgettable night. Barkada isn’t just a restaurant, it’s an experience.

I just went and I LOVE this place. I had a couple drinks that were amazing - the smoked old fashioned (4 different options for type of smoke and great presentation!) and one that had blackberry jam in it. The fried chicken was great but not particularly special, but that wasn’t the main attraction anyway. Highly recommend this place if you want amazing drinks, a great atmosphere where you can talk and chill, and great food to supplement the experience. $15 per drink and $12 for wings. Not cheap but not overwhelmingly expensive and definitely worth it. Great service. Waiter was attentive (shoutout to Jay!) and had great, detailed recommendations that ended up being accurate.

Celebrated my birthday here last weekend. They were able to accommodate my large group of 11 with no issues. The waitress did a wonderful job serving, and the food was amazing. For most of my friends, this was their first or second time eating Filipino food. They only had good things to say about everything we ate. The drinks (ube espresso martini, calamansi margarita, calamansi shot) tasted great as well! We stayed long enough to do karaoke for a couple of hours, and we had so much fun. The requested songs were rotated between all parties in the restaurant which made it feel like one big Filipino party. I will definitely be coming back!

Barkada is one of my favorite local spots in Astoria — they never miss! I usually order takeout, but have dined in a handful of times and each time I’ve had pleasant interactions with staff and the atmosphere was always warm and inviting. I usually order the Sinigang/tamarind wings and LET ME TELL YOU, they are sooo flavorful (think of lemon pepper wings on crack — no I’ve never done crack, but I’d imagine it being quite addicting, like these wings!). I also order the pancit, garlic rice, ube crepes, and they’re always consistent in flavor. I’d def recommend Barkada to anyone looking for strong flavor and fresh ingredients. They also have cute event nights like karaoke nights! They have it all! :)

Really tasty meal - we had the Ginataan (pan fried tilapia in coconut cream sauce) and Kare kare (peanut sauce) pork belly. Both were delicious. Service was quick and attentive, staff were kind and caring. I can’t believe there’s not more of a wait at this restaurant. Go before it becomes too popular to get a table without a reservation.

Waitress was sweet and knowledgeable. Very warm atmosphere. Delicious pork skewers, quail eggs which was new to us. We both got crispy pork and it was so filling kept going back for more. The food was so delicious. We got shaved ice and Dessert was so sweet and light. Definitely will come back again.

Three stars because the best part about this place was the karaoke. Although the mics are terrible. You can barely hear the people singing. You have to scream into the mic. Drinks were decent. The food proportions were a joke. Looks like kids meal. Service is very slow.

There’s a lot to like here, which is why this review is a bit frustrating to write. The wings were great, the ube espresso martini was genuinely fun and well done, and the pancit was solid too. There are some really strong dishes on the menu and you can tell there’s creativity behind what they’re doing. That said, a couple of things missed. The fried chicken we were excited to try ended up being over-seasoned, and the milkshake just didn’t taste right. Even after we sent it back, it still felt off. The biggest letdown though was the service. We were a large table and sat for around 20 minutes before anyone came over. We weren’t greeted, and throughout the night it felt hard to get attention. Honestly, we would have ordered at least double the drinks if someone had been checking in. It just felt slow and disengaged. I also mentioned that the bathroom had no soap, and the response felt pretty indifferent, which was surprising. There’s so much potential here. With tighter service and a bit more consistency, this could easily be a four or even five star spot. Right now it lands at three because the overall experience didn’t match the quality of some of the food.

I tried the chicken inasal/pork bbq to go the 1st time. $14/order. You get 3 decent size sticks and both were very juicy and flavorful especially the chicken. Today I went with a friend for bottomless Brunch. I did not drink and my friend had a few bellinis. I got the tocilog which was a small piece, mostly fat, wet/soggy. I like my tocilog dry, caramelized and crispy with more meat than fat. Two eggs. Huge mound of garlic rice which was bland and hardly had any garlic and a tbsp chopped cucumber/tomato/onions they call ensalada. My friend had the skewsilog (pork bbq) which was 2 really super tiny sticks pork bbq (2 bites), equivalent to 1 regular skewer. It didn’t even qualify as a kid’s meal. We ordered pancit and they charged $16 vs $12 which was the price listed on the brunch menu. The leche flan was alright - dense and not sweet which I like. But still unlike my Lola’s which has a light, silky texture and better caramelization. Overall, Brunch was so-so and not bang for the buck. We spent close to $90. Disappointing. 😔 Think you are better off going for Dinner where you get better portions/value for what you pay. The waitresses were at least nice if anything.

We chose this restaurant for brunch to celebrate my daughter’s birthday based on its advertised social atmosphere. Unfortunately, I later realized that most of those social events take place in the evenings, not during brunch hours. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The staff was unfriendly, contrary to the reviews I read. The restaurant was uncomfortably cold on an already cold winter day, and the restroom was at least 20 degrees colder than the dining area. Because this was a birthday celebration, we asked the waitress if we could have a deck of playing cards, especially since the restaurant promotes social events and games. Our request was declined. After explaining that it was my daughter’s birthday and that she had traveled from California to celebrate with us in Queens, the waitress said she would check. She later returned to say there were no cards and did not offer any alternative games. This was especially disappointing given how the restaurant markets itself. The service overall was very poor. Our drinks took nearly an hour to arrive, and the waitress appeared overwhelmed and frazzled. When our food was delivered, the man who brought it out did not greet us or acknowledge us at all. It was the same man standing by the entrance with a scowl on his face. The food itself was equally disappointing. The chicken was extremely salty with a strange, lingering vinegar taste. The chicken on the waffles was burnt and inedible due to the unpleasant flavor. The scrambled eggs were undercooked and runny. Overall, the entire experience—from the service to the atmosphere to the food—was terrible and fell far short of expectations, especially for a birthday celebration.
