Es uno de nuestros lugares favoritos para comer sushi. Hace poco pedí un pollo Teriyaki y fue excepcional, delicioso, una grata sorpresa considerando que lo único que solemos ordenar es sushi o las buenísimas sopas. Buen servicio y la música es genial. Un gran restaurante! ----- It’s hard to believe it's been six years since our first review, but I’m excited to share that this restaurant remains a beloved favorite of ours! The sushi here continues to impress, consistently fitting snugly in our top five recommendations after trying countless spots. Some of our all-time favorites are the Bumble Bee Sushi, Rainbow Sushi, and the delightful Pauline Roll. As for their other dishes, I still relish the Chicken Teriyaki, and my child simply can’t get enough of the Udon sautéed noodles with shrimp! On our most recent visit, we experienced a little hiccup when a spider was found in a water glass. Thankfully, the main waitress quickly came to the rescue to resolve the situation, even though we felt a bit overlooked at first. Despite this minor misstep, our love for this restaurant and its delicious offerings remains strong, and we can’t wait to visit again!

Best sushi spot in Astoria by far! The staff is so attentive and friendly. The food is AMAZING! It's a very nice atmosphere as well. I've also had very good delivery experiences with them. It's not cheap but it's worth every penny! The best Kani salad in the world!

I just love coming here! Such friendly staff, and the food is always so fresh. I never have anything bad to say about this place. The ambiance is perfect, the food comes out in a very timely manner and just an always pleasant experience! The gyozas and rock shrimp are always the best appetizers.

One of the best sushi places I have ever been to. The quality is always great. You simply cannot go wrong with any kind of sushi rolls and the rock shrimps are to die for. Really good cocktails as well.

soooo good!!! delicious sushi- everything tasted so fresh! some of the specialty rolls are a little pricey, but honestly worth it since they were very fresh and flavorful.

Watawa is really a great local sushi spot that everyone clearly knows about. It keeps busy throughout the night with a continuous flow of people dining in and picking-up takeout orders. The portion sizes are much larger than other places and very easy to share. We ordered sushi and sashimi for 2 and it was plenty for the three of us. They have a full bar plus speciality drinks. We all opted for the saketini. The servers work in conjunction with one another so there is always someone around if you need anything. It features multiple seating areas to choose from. It's great for large parties as well as an intimate date night if you are able to score a table around the water pond. Reservations are not required unless you are a party of 5 or more.

It’s a good place for good sushi. Good~but not great. They’re special rolls aren’t too special, almost seemed like it was all the same base of ingredients, just add/remove some. Was hoping for more variety. The ambiance is nice, great lighting for a cozy vibe. The tea was lovely. The miso soup was nice. The sushi was fresh and good. Unfortunately the music was blasting some intense EDM music, that didn’t fit the atmosphere. It would have been really nice to change the music to something more casual. We ordered the sushi and sashimi for two. We might be back to try other special rolls for more variety!

Celebrated a friends birthday here the staff was very helpful on trying to keep the surprise. We were hungry so ordered a lot of food and everything was delicious. My favorite were the dumplings and the rainbow sushi. Will definitely go back to try the other things in the menu.

I don't go often but wife and I have been coming here for years and it's been a 5 star till my last visit. The fried rice was always tasty. Rather with shrimp or something else never had to use soy sauce. My last visit the rice was very disappointing. Very bland and mushy. Wife and I hope this was just a fluke. Is it just us? Or they change the way they make the rice...

Me and my aunt came here for dinner. It was a pleasant experience, food was good except for the Kani salad which had a little bit of a funky taste to it. The reason I write this review is because of the drinks they serve here. I ordered a rose mojito which is one of their popular drink items. This was on a Friday night and I still have a headache from this drink 2 days later (it’s Sunday night). They clearly serve you cheap rum otherwise I wouldn’t have gotten this headache. If you’re going to charge customers $15 for a drink, I would hope the alcohol is of good quality. Wont be coming back for a while.

Watawa Sushi used to be my favorite sushi restaurant on Ditmars Blvd. I’ve dined there many times - alone, with friends and family. The food and service were great, and I always left satisfied… until my most recent visit. I went back one evening with my mom, expecting the same amazing experience. We politely asked to sit by the window since there weren’t many people inside. Although they agreed, it felt like our request wasn’t well received. We waited a long time for our food, while people who arrived after us were served first. When our food finally came, it was nothing like before. The shrimp tempura sushi and fried calamari, which used be my favorites - tasted bad... like the oil hadn’t been changed for a while... Unfortunately, both the food and the experience were disappointing. Even worse, I had stomach issues later that night, and my mom didn’t feel well for almost a week. It was really upsetting, especially since this place used to be a favorite. Maybe I’ll give it another try someday - but definitely not anytime soon.
