This wonderful hidden gem. Traveling from LA to here, been to many fine dining. It’s been outstanding experience. Service is amazing. This place has the most fresh sushi that melts in your mouth. Everything there was super fresh. Meat, fish, and veggies. I had sushi, rolls, and Bbq rib eye. Absolutely Delicious! If I had more room in my belly I would order more. Great variety and selection. Wonderful people and auto amazing ambience. I am definitely coming back for more.
I absolutely love this place! Our server, Yani (hope i spelled it correctly!)is always so polite, helpful and always cheerful! Great food and beautifully plated! We always leave fat 'n happy! Highly recommend!👍😊
Great food. Service and atmosphere!
What a beautiful restaurant! They even have a light up tree! The atmosphere is wonderful. So is the food. I deeply enjoyed everything I ordered and plan to come again soon. Even my picky sister loved it. The salad dressing was delicious though I was not a huge fan of the greens. The chicken was great and had a wonderful flavor. The one thing I dislike is the price. Though it is good quality food.
So glad we gave this spot another chance. We've been in a few times now and the service and food is superb. Just came in for a large birthday party and all in all they were very accommodating to our dietary needs, very knowledgeable about the menu offerings and helped us find something allergy friendly. The food was delicious, we all ordered sushi and some of us did the Beef Korean BBQ plate which easily feeds 3! We were stuffed. Every single thing was delicious including our desserts. Great place for a girls night or eating out with the family (super cute kids area too!) I will be dreaming of the sushi pizza. Cannot wait to come back!
I enjoyed eating here. The staff was very friendly and courteous my meal came promptly. The cucumber peanut sauce table starter was excellent and a light way to start off your dining experience. The decor and atmosphere in the place was enjoyable as well. The role I had was very good it was not the best I’ve ever had but for the price you definitely get what you pay for. I will absolutely eat here again.
Very clean big space. Great service. We like the beef bulgogi bowl a lot.
Eat the Korean stew/soup!!! When I feel like I am getting low on the health tank, I eat Korean for the healing probiotics in the food. I feel much better and the flavors were amazing! Eating here every time I am in Atascadero! I wish I could eat here more often. BTW, servings are big!
Good quality food, very reasonable price. Our server was great, Chef Li was very nice and made a special treat for my kid. Very kind staff. Best place in Atascadero.
The sizzling stone bowl of bibimbap is delicious! And the service was great too - our server (who might have been one of the managers?) was very knowledgeable and friendly
I came with my friend and his two young daughters, he picked it because there's a play area for children. So this is a kid friendly place. I thought the service was friendly and welcoming and the food was delicious. I had the glass noodles with beef AKA japchae. The children enjoyed their salmon kids meal, and my friend liked his Sushi roll. I think it was a dragon roll. There is a free parking lot, and the place is immaculate.
The food here is great! Ate there on the way down the coast and went there on the way back up. The first time I forgot to take photos but remembered the second time. Definitely a great place to eat. I had the sizzling rice bowl bibimbap with chicken and beef the first time and chicken and spicy pork the second time. The combination of flavors were great. The rest of my family had the beef yakisoba, beef fried rice, beef bulgogi, avocado and salmon sushi rolls, teriyaki salmon, steamed chicken dumplings, and macaron ice sandwiches (vanilla and mango). All that food was two days worth. My family enjoyed all of it.
This place is the BEST!!! Asian food in SLO County hands down. The menu selection is phenomenal and the staff is attentive to every detail not to mention all the food is 100% organic. You must try the cold pressed Pomegranate Juice!!! If you are looking for a great ambience and dining experience you won't be disappointed. This is the LOCAL spot. Don't miss out on the Popcorn Lobster Roll!!!
Great service, good quality portions. Was surprised how good the sushi was! 100 percent reccomend!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kochi Sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant, and I must say, it was an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and the staff greeted us warmly. Now, let's talk about the food. The menu boasted an incredible selection of mouthwatering dishes, and we decided to try a little bit of everything. The short ribs were tender and packed with flavor, the rib eye was cooked to perfection, and the bulgogi was incredibly savory. Each bite was a delight for our taste buds. But the culinary adventure didn't stop there. The sushi was fresh and expertly prepared, with a wide range of creative rolls to choose from. The dumpling soup was comforting and flavorful, warming us up on a chilly evening. And let's not forget the scallops - they were cooked to absolute perfection, tender and succulent. To accompany our meal, we indulged in some sparkling sake, which added a delightful effervescence to each sip. And for dessert, the Thai tea ice cream was a heavenly treat, perfectly balancing sweetness and creaminess. One aspect that truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. They made excellent recommendations and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. We were celebrating a birthday, and the restaurant went above and beyond to make it a memorable occasion. From a personalized birthday message to a special dessert presentation, they truly made us feel like valued guests. In summary, Kochi Sushi and Korean BBQ restaurant is a culinary gem. The food is outstanding, the service is top-notch, and the overall experience is simply phenomenal. If I could give it 10 stars, I absolutely would. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a special celebration, I highly recommend paying a visit to this remarkable establishment.
Took my friend here for her birthday. To start off, the service was great! The host was nice, and the servers were very attentive to everything we needed. The food was AMAZING! There were so many delicious items on the menu it was hard to make a choice. I had a hot sizzling stone bowl with beef. It had beautifully crisp veggies, the meat was well marinated and tender, and it came with a bunch of sides. I also ordered a couple of sushi rolls. I got the sushi pizza and the popcorn lobster. The sushi pizza was SO GOOD! It had this crispy rice thing on the bottom which complimented the toppings nicely. The popcorn lobster was also really good. The little popcorn lobster bits on top were perfectly crunchy and crispy. At the end of our meal, the servers brought my friend a free ice cream with a candle for her birthday. It was decorated, and they sang to her! So glad we came here. It was such a great experience!
If one is craving Korean BBQ [DIY grilled food], Shabu Shabu [DIY Asian Hotpot], as well as Sushi, this is one of the only places on the Central Coast of CA that will fulfill these urges. Even when we lived in HI, it was nearly impossible to find all three options, done well, in the same restaurant. On top of this, as opposed to HI, they also have the options of our wonderful local wines. While the city of Atascadero is generally looked down upon by many locals, it does have some gems, such as this place. One can find some great food, bakeries, breweries, cider producers, distilleries, and even a decent Farmers Market in this area. There are even some hiking trails, a modest lake/zoo, and more within the city limits. Some of the issues with this town is that one main employer is a huge Forensic Psychiatric hospital and generally a higher level of crime. As long as one uses the common sense that most urban areas would teach one, you should be OK. Just do not leave stuff in your car, and be sure to lock it up out of sight. Many asian restaurants are not known for amazing customer service, but this is balanced by hopefully good food. For locals, this is one of maybe 2-3 Korean food options on the CC, and maybe the only Shabu Shabu place. The other Korean BBQ is in Santa Maria, and is not as nice as this place. Is this a splurge, well of course it is, but the bang for the buck is far better than alot of more snooty places where you will not get filled up. As one can see from the pics, one can get tons to eat...and alot of it is not only tasty, but healthy as well. The fermented products alone are good for the microbiome.
Food was hot and fresh and very authentic. My ramen soup was huge. We had an amazing waiter Jacob and would go back just because he was so AWESOME!!!
It's one of the few Korean BBQ in Atascadero, Ca. The service is great but it's the food there was little bit pricey compare to other Korean restaurant. I guess it depends on the city. But overall it was a good restaurant. They need to serve more variety of side dishes like spicy squids, cucumber kimchi, steamed eggs and more.
Huge menu. Excellent wait staff. Fastest bus staff ever. Love the roll and sushi masters. Great family or group experience
Coming from Monterey, we stopped for lunch at this place. Due to covid-19, the dining is in a patio kind of setting. My family enjoyed what they order. I had salmon and california roll. Their food is amazing good. We’ll be visiting this place again in the future. Higlt recommended👍👍👍
Absolutely amazing food. Stopped by while on vacation and can not wait to go back. The staff were super friendly and the service was quick. They also have a little play room for kids which is really nice.
We've visited once each year on my birthday since 2017 and it's consistently excellent. This year we added extra veggies for $3 and chose the 2+ person shared BBQ. Plenty of food for three people. My personal favorite meat here is the beef bulgogi, it's well marinated with tons of flavor. And regarding the sides that come with the group meal; Kimchi lovers will not be disappointed, it's spicy and very good.
Delicious cuisine, friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere for dining as a family. The hot pot was so nourishing. My aunt commented “I feel like this is healing me from anything lingering in my system!”
Ample indoor seating. Ban chan here is BOMB and you get it regardless if you're doing KBBQ or not. We were road-tripping back up, so we opted to order off the non-KBBQ menu since we wanted a quick meal. My friends got the stone pot bibimbap, while I got their calamari udon (spicy!). The food stayed hot for a really long time! I also got a lot of calamari in my portion; they will give you extra spicy sauce if you request it! I personally felt like it was not enough noodles and that some of the squid pieces were over cooked, but was overall pleased with my meal. The service here is SO good too! Very attentive and kind. The restrooms here have stalls and are very clean as well. I'd love to come back and try their KBBQ the next time I'm in town!

Such good food and awesome service! The beef bulgogi is my absolute favorite! Quick to-go available too!

Visited this establishment while on a business trip. The restaurant is very clean and new looking. It wasn’t overly busy however, it was a week night. The menu is extensive with a lot of choices. I got the Bulgogi rice bowl and a California sushi roll. The sushi was delicious and fairly large compared to other places I have been. The Bulgogi was good but not the best I have had. The service was outstanding and the manager stopped by our table to talk and ask how we enjoyed our meal. Overall I would recommend and will be back next trip to try something else there.
So many options but they had a wonderful marinated beef and pork options for the Korean bbq option. The pork belly wasn't as great but it was decent. We had to keep reminding them of our order but they were attentive. We also went during the day - the restaurant looks more like it's set up for dinner service.
The food here is decent. It’s like any other Asian restaurant with a KBBQ grill. The kimchi was pretty ripe. I forgot to take a picture of the other food but it’s pretty much a fusion restaurant with Japanese, Korean, and Chinese food.

Not very authentic. No caramelization on the meat. Steamed broccoli and carrot were fresh and not overcooked although I expected some ban chan. No Kim chi! The miso soup has a smoky flavor unexpected. The bulgogi meat texture was like twice tenderized. Very pale marinade, almost teriyaki. Not impressed at all. Most went uneaten. Dog enjoyed.
Sushi is always good. I don't like the Korean BBQ at the table. I think it lacks flavor. The atmosphere was ok. It was very loud, and I had to request a different table. just hear my own conversation. They were short staffed, so we had to wait to order. I don't blame them for that. Overall, it's pretty decent.
It wasnt fantastic. But it wasn’t the worst. We did the Korean bbq where you cook the meat yourself. It’s not all you can eat which was disappointing cause the other places we’ve been to have been. And they didn’t have a lot of the pickled and kimchi sides like other places we’ve been too. Not enough food. Probably won’t come back. The whole place needs an update, the leather seats are taped up and worn. The service was great though. Are gal was super friendly and informative They need to have a non alcoholic beer.
We are here recently with a large group. Service was pretty sub par. The waiter was not very attentive and made the group feel we were bothering them when we asked for things. Food quality was good, so if you are ok with the rest I'd recommend it.
Came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm with my toddler and husband. The place is spacious and not busy so we got seated right away. Immediately saw the kids room on the right and was impressed, since I haven’t been to any other restaurants with a designated kids play space. We wanted to come try the shabu shabu since my daughter loves soup and noodles, and surprised how the hot pot looked. Definitely not the same shabu I have had elsewhere, including Japan, but maybe it’s their version here (photo included). The soup base was good, and my daughter loved the soup and noodles. Not very into the dumplings and the fact that the hotpot came out already pre-cooked. I was expecting to cook it myself like most shabu spots. Nonetheless, the service was great and we left full. It was around $68 including tax and tips. I took my daughter to play in the kids room while waiting for food and discovered all the toys were super filthy and didn’t work. My daughter went around pressing things and they were dead :( still, it kept her busy for a bit before the food arrived. We also gave their fried cheesecake a try but super underwhelming and the cheesecake was still icy. This spot made sense because we were charging our Tesla Nextdoor. Otherwise I would pass next time.

Mediocre KBBQ. Bad service. Went during Cal Poly grad weekend. They asked for plates/bowls back, because they were running out of dishes in the kitchen. Same with their potholders. It was hard to get their attention to ask for extra utensils/napkins/etc., and you had to ask multiple times because they’d forget. Also bad timing, though, because a 15+ party had walked in after my family.
We came here for lunch and ordered two lunch combinations. Now, you would think lunch combinations are some sort of deal, right? Apparently not. I ordered the lunch combo and picked the spicy tuna roll as my two items, thinking I would get two full sets of rolls just like I do at Toshi and other similar restaurants with a lunch special. My plate comes out and I only receive 1 roll, 8 pieces total vs the expected 16. The waitress begins to explain that lunch portions are only half the amount even though that is nowhere on the menu. We ended up paying $40 for two lunch combos when I could have just gotten two full orders of spicy tuna rolls for $20 for the two of us. Not sure how this lunch combo is a deal and it actually ends up being more expensive than ordering a full roll, side of rice, salad, and miso separately! I'll stick to Toshi for their lunch special. Food is good but the menu needs to be fixed for clarification, or just offer the full size roll for the lunch special.

DON'T get the sea food hot pot. It's as if they put scraps in it. The katsu chicken was so thin it could have passed as jerky. Then you only get two 2" slices of over cooked flavorless carrots and two pieces of broccoli. No attempt to make it right. Terrible experience. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and go elsewhere
Literally awful experience tonight!! Let me start by saying the lady who “sat us” yelled from across the restaurant “OKAY YOU GUYS OVER HERE”, so professional! Now, I have worked in a restaurant so I understand being behind. But it’s one thing being behind and having a great waitress/ waiter that checks in , etc. However, tonight they took our order, bring one round of drinks, and forgot a whole half of our order. 30min later we had to go to our waiter and let them know to just cancel the rest of the order. Within those 30 min, 4 other groups left for the same reason. The same older lady who yelled from across the restaurant came around and asked if we were doing okay, not even our waiter, and we replied no, we have a whole other half of our order missing, where she replied “well that order is coming from a different kitchen so it will take longer”. Which is fine, but not 30 min. fine! Though this is a “bad review” the owner is absolutely amazing lol!!
