This was our first visit to any Jalapeño Tree restaurant. The food was very good. My husband and I both chose the "build your own combo". Sarah, the waitress, got everything right and was very attentive. Sarah made this first visit a reason to come back. Yes, the food was very good (chips and salsa were also very good) but when a server is friendly, without being intrusive, helpful, happy, polite, and efficient, that makes a customer come back. Thank you Sarah for great, friendly service! We will return and ask for her. UPDATE: My husband and I went back with friends for dinner and had a fantastic waiter- David. David was very friendly and chatted with us while we waited for the rest of our party. We spent hours eating and socializing and never felt rushed. Great service (I forgot my sweater and David ran it out to the parking lot- thank you). Thank you for another great dinner and fantastic service!
Everything about this place screams come try me. The waitress Megan, the hostess, the boy who brought us chips and salsa. The kitchen did an awesome job. But our waitress was the bomb. You have got to try this place. So much food, we will have a second meal. We will be back.
We had a group of 18 people that gathered there due to it being a central location for us all. They were very accommodating, friendly and the service was great. Our waitress did a wonderful job of keeping our glasses filled and our orders came out at the same time. We were able to all eat together with hot food. That is saying something when you have that many in your group. The long and the short of it, I would recommend this Establishment to all looking for good food and service. We will be back. Our Thanks to you all from our group.
This is my favorite restaurant. The 4 beef Enchiladas plate with a Mango Margaritas are the perfect combination. Where ever I'm traveling this stop is a must stop.
This is a chain, but this particular location has great food. We eat here about once a month or every two months. We've gotten the same waiter since October of 2017. He is really good. Margaritas $5.75 for 16oz UM YES!!! And they are good to boot!!!! We usually get the fajitas...typical and good. Homemade tortillas are great. This last time I got the shrimp tacos and they were very good.
Awesome as always! Every time we visit our TX friends we have to eat there. It's a given!
This was a wonderful place. The food was good Mexican food, the portions were generous, the atmosphere was pretty normal, but the service was fantastic. Our waitress was very aware of our needs without being intrusive. She realized without us telling her that we had specific dietary needs (we don't eat pork), and made sure to let us know when she wasnt sure if the food we were ordering had pork in it or not. She made our visit very pleasant, with no snags, turning what would have been a 3.5 to 4 star meal into a 5 star experience. If we're ever in Texas again for any amount of time, this is a definite stop. Thanks, Jalepeno Tree!
Ate there twice in two days. Wish we had one or.more 0in Houston area Food was great, service on point and great quality for the money! I miss East Texas.
I love this jalapeño tree here in Athens! The food is always good, is served piping hot, never cold, and the service is always excellent!
This was my favorite person in this worlds choice of establishments. David introduced me to this place. Never had a bad meal and I've tried most things on the menu. Love it!
We stopped on our way home at The Jalaoano Tree in Mabank. The atmosphere was great, our waiter was smiling and helpful and the food was very delicious.
We drove 1 and 1/2 hours to come eat here, as we have several times. Our favorite restaurant. But late last night we had Aaron as our waiter and I can honestly say he was the best waiter I’ve ever had at any restaurant. He was very kind, and made sure to check on us very frequently. He also made suggestions for us when we asked, which all turned out just as good as he said! I will be calling ahead on our next trip to see if he is working, because we’d love to be his customers again.
We had the build your own combo. This is the 2nd time we've been here. First time was great but 2nd time was phenomenal due to our server, Melissa. She was attentive and very accommodating. She was the best server we've ever had. We will always ask for her to wait on us. She's wonderful!!!
Called them on very short notice to accommodate a party of 40 after being told no by another local Mexican restaurant. I couldn't be more thrilled that the other place didn't want our money. Our food and service were impeccable and they were very patient with my large group. Kudos to the staff that took care of us!
The food here is always great. The service can be spotty at times. That green sauce is incredible, flautas are always delicious and the sour cream chicken enchiladas are my favorite.
We placed our order for pick up. Parked in designated area, went in thru bar area to pick up. Our food was ready, evident after standing at check out when server reached to get it. We had been standing there for about 15 min or more. We got home with food with item missing. Food had to be heated up. We placed another order a couple of weeks later, we received our full order, but again we had to wait, going home with cold food. They definitely need help. We've always enjoy our food from here even cold but getting home with it still hot or warm would be nice.😔
It was an amazing experience, me and my fiancé went and the service was amazing! Stephanie our waitress did an amazing job of keeping our drinks filled and she was super helpful and attentive to our needs. The food came out hot and fresh and I highly recommend trying the combo options they have!
My husband got a Tuesday combo with tortilla soup and he loved it add tamale and a burrito. He says it was awesome! And he is picky. I serve her was Alexis and she was amazing!!! I had some dietary restrictions she knew off the bat what had dairy and what did not. She was very attentive and friendly. And the food was amazing I had the veggie fajitas! We were pleasantly surprised as we have never eaten here before. Thank you!
Good food, decent service always consistent.
Nice atmosphere, delicious food, I love their green sauce! Great service.
This was my third time here, and everything was good. We had Alexis as our waitress this outing. She was friendly and informative about the specials and quick service. The food was hot and good, normal Tex-Mex choices. The place was clean and fun to dine in. I would recommend for a good meal.
We had the sweetest server today. We didn’t catch her name, but she was very kind and made sure to tell us which plates were hot so our littles didn’t burn their fingers. Thank you for a great lunch.
It's always good, I love the food, the service and the atmosphere is great. We usually do take out and it's just as good as being there, I just prefer home to eating out. I recommend the shredded chicken quesadillas, the taco salad is excellent to as are the enchiladas, you just can't go wrong. The white queso is the bomb.
Delicious food friendly employees. Food is a little bit high. I wish they had good deals during the week.
When they are on, they can't be beat. A few weeks prior we were sat in the bar and literally froze. We weren't the only ones, yes we complained and complained, as we were leaving they shut the ac off. This visit was flawless.
I gave it 5 stars because the food, people and atmosphere was amazing...HOWEVER FOR THE LOVE OF GOD...IVE TRIED THE NEW MARGS WITH THE NEW MIX TWICE AND ITS AWFUL!!! FELICIA IS THE VERY BEST WAITRESS EVER SO WE ARE HAPPY NONETHELESS. Is there a corporate we can mention this new mix to though? It's pretty gross. Everything else was amazing! Especially Felicia:) she needs a raise!!!
Excellent food, the queso was very good. I had the Tex Ritter, which was excellent!
Amazing service by Bonnie in takeout at the Athens TX location! She went out her way to make sure our meal was perfect. Thanks for hiring such a dedicated employee!
Food is always wonderful. Hot stuff is always hot, cold stuff separated and always cold and fresh. Lettuce is crisp, tomatoes or not mushy. Everything taste just freshly made as it should. The employees are very helpful.. very kind and accommodating to any special needs that you might have. Always put dinnerware, salt pepper napkins, into the bag. If you order drinks, everything is safety sealed. Straw hold is covered with a sticker to prevent leakage, or straw access until ready to use. Very clean, very upbeat atmosphere. Just makes you happy to be there.
If I could leave a zero review I would. I arrived and waited for 8 minutes while the hostess was on her phone. Then waited for 15 minutes to place a drink order. Waited another 20 minutes to place order. Two other tables were seated and received their food while I still set with no food. Finally after another 35 minutes I canceled my order and they had they audacity to say I had only been there 18 minutes. What a joke and lack of complete customer service I am updating my review after my return visit this evening. I received excellent customer service along with great food for my party of 7. I couldn't be more pleased with all aspects of my experience tonight. Kudos to the staff.
I’ve been to this location 3 times now and it’s really good. I’m not from the area as I travel to see my son. This is always the stop I make. My waitress Kayla was awesome! The food is always fresh and flavorful.
I would give it more stars if I could. The food was great. The service from Justin was outstanding! Please please please open a location in Fort Worth. On Race Street close downtown Fort Worth.
Had a great experience at Jalapeño Tree Mexican Restaurant. The Tex-Mex food was excellent and the service was top-notch. Aaron was a great server, friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. We’ll definitely be back!
We had a larger party (16 in all). We were seated promptly. Kayla was our server. She was amazing! So pleasant and organized. She was very attentive to the needs of the table. Her energy stayed positive all evening! All of the staff were just as great and friendly. Thank you for a grand evening!
Melissa did an excellent job today! 🤩 She was very friendly & checked on us a lot. She should probably be a trainer for other waitresses. Brandon brought all our chips & hot sauce. He was very nice. 😊
The food was great and got out fast! My server Donnie was visiting from another store to help out but did an amazing job as my waiter! The manager on shift was also amazing! I have social anxiety and find it difficult to go to restaurants by myself but they both made me feel super comfortable and I will be coming back!
Our waiter Aaron was fantastic. He made sure my shrimp bowl had minimal spice and ensured a military discount was applied to the bill with no issues. I was thoroughly impressed with the food and service.
The Jalapeno Tree is an awesome place to go when you want great food and a friendly atmosphere. First of all, the dips you start out with are not bland at all. The green dip is so good, I finished it off even after my main course arrived. I had the "Clint Eastwood" which is basically pollo con queso, a cheese enchilada, refried beans, and rice. It was by far one of the best mexican dishes I have had in a while. I washed it down with a cold Bud Light on tap. They seriously care about the food they serve. The staff is friendly and always attentive. The restaurant is clean and beautifully decorated. I highly recommend stopping in here if you're looking for a fun place to eat. A+ Service!!!

We order to go food from here atleast 3 times a week. Food is consistent, we usually order the combo 4s. Great value for the price. Expect to wait a little while so call in your order. If you ever have an issue management usually will make it right.
Last couple times service hasn’t quite been there for us.
The staff were awesome. We all had a great time. Food was delicious and served warm. The only negative was the fact that we couldn't hear the music being played. We asked for the staff to up the volume, they stated they couldn't. Hard to enjoy music you can barely hear - especially in the bar area. Overall - Great staff The reply I received on Google seemed to be a canned response. No mention of the music issue in the bar! Love this place, not the corporate office response. Ya'll are not customer focused
Okay. Kitchen short handed, so took a long time to get our lunches. Understand with labor now adays. But service and staff were friendly and attentive. Apologized for wait. Food good. Thank you for offering other sides instead of rice and beans. So much nicer to have a salad and soup.
Not really my favorite place for great Mexican food. It's more Tex-Mex. Service was with a smile, but they are clearly understaffed. And they didn't seem to be well trained in handling a large amount of customers all at once. With that said, my husband and my adult stepson love their food.
Good food, and friendly staff,I don't know if they were short on help but we got seated and then was asked to move to another spot? and that waitress didn't check on us but once she was friendly just didn't check back but once.
Very good moderately priced tex-Mexican. As always the atmosphere is wonderful, staff is very good, and food is good for the price point.
As far as Jalapeño Trees go (and I've been to 13 of them) this one was a little on the smaller side. Curb appeal was less visually pleasing as some of the other locations. \n\nI have made it a point …
Always fresh tortillas. Salsa is ok. Food is average. Very nice ambience inside. Staff is very helpful. Nice prices!

The service is horribly slow. We have waited multiple times for chips and drinks and at similar restaurants in Dallas the service is much faster with many more customers

I got fajita chicken nachos, and the chicken was dry and looked old. We had a party of 26 so yes we expected a little wait, well let me just tell you the gave us 1 a WHOLE ONE waitress!!!! All some of us didn't get chips and salsa, some of us got drinks after another person got food. It was awful, I'm not laying blame on the single person. I'm sure she did her best and was very overwhelmed. Won't be back there for a while.
You shouldn't have to continuously ask your server for refills of drinks, chips, or salsa. And when you do ask for more, you should be able to get more without them rolling their eyes at you. This was our first time here so not sure what to get yet. The quesidillas we got were ok.
Food was nothing to be excited about. You can tell canned food is put together. Sitting in a steamer waiting on someone to order. For not being homemade...cost, it's a little on the high side. Knowing all the restaurants are ordering the same cans.
I say pass on this place. The food quality versus the price is not worth it. If you want a Tex-Mex franchise with over priced sub par food then this is the spot. To leave it on a positive note the server was very friendly.
The food was nothing to write home about. A little bland. Expensive for the quality. I asked for hot sauce and was told that they did not have any. WHAT? I spent $110.00 for 4 adult meals that was blah at best.
Not what I expected. I checked the website before I decided on this place and of course read the reviews. I was expecting “crazy good authentic Mexican food” it was ok Tex-Mex. My husband kept composing that the tortillas weren’t cooked well and his shrimp tacos were lacking in sauce. My small piece of chicken was drowned in cheese. The charro beans were over cooked so I was sad about that. My little side of lettuce and tomato was non-existent as you can see in the pictures. So food not all that but The service on the other hand was excellent.
Overall a 3 for a few reasons. Ok, the food is great for the most part. It is all authentic, i had a few friends that work at a different location and i can say it is all hand or home made. There is literally nothing from a can. Everything from the chips to the salsa, the chilli, cheese sauces and queso, the rice, beans, all the meats, everything is cooked fresh daily. I mean there is nothing from cans or packages. With that said, as with anything there's going to be fluctuation from place to place because you have a cook that does it better here and a cook that doesn't care over there so you can't really judge every single visit by one visit. You may have 20 visits that are perfect and then have one that ruins everything. So be prepared to have a not-so-great experience but I can tell you your chances of a not-so-great experience are probably slim to none. I would say that out of 10 visits 9 of them are going to be good. I eat at Jalapeno Tree a lot and the reason I gave the three stars today it's because I'm not real impressed with the Athens location. Every visit has always been disappointing if you want my opinion the two best locations are the Gun Barrel City and the Canton location, although Canton has a red-headed waitress that is not pleasant at all so try not to get her, it's an older lady. But don't judge a book by its cover because there might be a very sweet redheaded girl that works there now and it wouldn't be fair to think that she's the one, but you will know if you get the one I'm talking about you'll know exactly she's the one. Okay now for my real complaint which is what earned them three stars. So the Athens location has never been impressive to me and I'm going to go ahead while I've got the small amount of stars and complain about something that's Jalapeno Tree wide their prices can be a bit steep but it's understandable because everything is handmade so I kind of just attribute it to that but the fact that they are charging $17 for an order of chips and salsa is absolutely insane I know what it takes to make chips and salsa and I know how they make their chips and salsa. There is zero justification for an order of chips and salsa to be $17. There is zero justification for an order of chips and salsa to be $10. If there was anything I could change about Jalapeno Tree is the ridiculous price of the chips and salsa. But on a positive note at least they are still one of the few places that give them out free when you sit down at the table I was at a couple of different places in San Antonio and Houston and apparently the Mexican restaurants in the big cities charge now for chips and salsa and I think that is absolutely ridiculous and if anybody is willing to go to one of those places and pay for chips and salsa and you are the problem because that has been a staple and a free staple of Mexican food dining since I can remember and there's no reason it needs to change except greed have a wonderful day! And yes for the most part Jalapeno Tree is a five-star but like I said every cook has a bad day or things can happen so go back a few times and if you still hate it then you can leave a bad review. I try not to review a place with less than 3 unless ive gone back atleast once and then i make sure i mention the first visit and why it was bad and what i found to be fact after the second visit. Goodnight.
We have been eating here for years but today and last time the chips were stale and very greasy. Our waitress who we love brought us new ones but still very greasy. I had order of nachos and those chips weren’t good either. I think they saved yesterdays chips and just heat them up in fryer.
The prices were extremely high for the quality of the food! The lunch menu was priced fairly and I was lucky to have gone during this time! I would not recommend going for dinner unless you want to spend more than you would for a good steak! My wife enjoyed the alcoholic drinks they provided! The waitress is the only reason I gave them 3 stars! We had a large group with separate tickets and she was great!
We were seated quickly but this was not a reflection of the service. Although the server was friendly and kind the kitchen and bar did not do her any favors. We ordered drinks and queso, we got them about 20 minutes later. Then another drink and food which took about 30-35 minutes. They brought part of his dinner (puffy taco) randomly way before the rest was served. The puffy taco was bad, the queso tasted like that cheap nacho cheese you get out of a can. By the time we were brought our food we were full and barely ate any. We are staying at a hotel so it was a big waste of money since we couldn't take it and reheat it. That being said the poblano and charro beans were great and he loved the beef enchiladas with con carne (chili) on it. The salsa was good but the white dip (no idea what it was) did not have flavor. One thing that surprised the hell out of us is that the margaritas we ordered were $15 each! I wish they listed the price because it was great but that blew my whole dinner budget for the next day. I didn't expect to spend $100 on tex-mex. The decor is super cute and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If this place made a few, small changes they would be fantastic. Try and get peoples drinks to them more quickly and the food service was slow, for a Monday especially.
Service wasn't great today. We had to get our own silverware. We ran out of chips and the skinny mojito was awful!

Mexican food.... Definitely, never returning to this brick-and-mortar establishment to dine.... Shame on me for giving them the benefit of the doubt 🤷🏼 over the last couple years! I kept figuring management changes, employee changes, menu changes, might improve the overall experience of the dining customer...... Well, nope, nothings changed from my first negative experience a couple years ago. Plus one is lucky to find clean, well supplied bathrooms. Happy dining if this is your choice for dining. Hopefully, you'll have a much better overall experience than I've ever had....
I’m not giving the poor rating for the food. The food was spectacular. But my waitress Ilda ( I think that’s how you spell it) was terrible. She was on her phone when she got our order. Rang in my food and then was on her phone. She messed up our drinks. And her gloves were nasty looking. Her mask was down almost al the time. It’s just the waitress for me. I have gone there several other times and the servers were spectacular. I don’t know if she had an off day but the service was bad for me. The food was amazing. I ordered a drink and the bar tender made it promptly. I watched. But she didn’t bring it out until several minutes later. Food was great. Waitress wasn’t.
I see a few reviews of drinks here. The response will be no, if at all but my double makers with a splash of diet. Im sorry to say it was watered down. I even asked for a single shot to bring it some level of normalcy. The shot was watered. Do yourself a favor, drink at home prior to coming here. Bartenders water the bottle to offset high bar cost due to mismanagement or a drinking problem.
Athens, Texas Jalapeño Tree: We have always loved this place, but it has gone downhill. The restaurant can have half a dozen people in it and we still have to wait to be seated, so they can clean a table (lack of servers, etc.). We felt sorry for our waitress. She was doing her best for everyone, but it took a long time before we were able to order our drinks. An even longer time before we could order our food. Refills on drinks came at the end of the meal. The food was good, but green sauce wasn’t as good. Red sauce was more amazing than usual. Hubby was not happy with his chili relleno (the reason he wants to dine here). The women’s bathroom… It was awful. The smell will knock you over. Strong urine smell when you open the door. It literally burns your nose. Not the first time the women’s bathroom had been this way when we visited. It looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. I don’t recommend using their facilities to wash your hands, due to the smell alone. We were there around seven on a Sunday evening. Party of five: 2 adults 3 kids. Restaurant was practically empty.
Picked up some Jalapeño Tree on my way home from work, at about 8:30pm. The rest of the food was good, but what is up with the chips? Y’all get my order wrong almost every time, so I gave it a break and recently started going back. They gave me very little chips and the ones on the bottom are soggy, sitting in a pile of grease. So disappointed!!
Good food but horrible service. Very slow on order taking even longer waiting for the check, not even one stop for a refill check.
For context: This was my first time going to this restaurant. The food was good and our waiter was great. The waiter asked if we wanted queso and I said yes not knowing what the price of the small cup of it was. When I found out that is close to $10 I did ask to take it back. The waiter was really nice and understood so he did. While me and my partner were waiting for the food the manager “Debbie” came over to lecture us about how it was rude to send it back and that it cost money to make them. I understand the process of restaurants and would have understood her point of view if we sent back multiple items but it was just the queso being more expensive than it’s worth. I’m not coming back again but do with the info what you will.
1st problem…When we got there it was literally freezing and multiple people were complaining and they didn’t turn the ac off for a little bit until someone got mad and said they were leaving if they didn’t turn it off! 2nd problem…Waitress was not very good with getting some of our order right and just had a weird personality. 3rd problem…Most of the food tasted like a TV dinner in the frozen food section of the grocery store. The tortillas were fresh and good though! With all the high prices of everything nowadays, it’s just not worth throwing your money away for this food. We will not be back!
Usually have a great time here. Decided to sit outside since the weather was nice today. Usually service is pretty fast. This time it was not. It seemed like we were annoying the server when we asked for things like refill. Every time we asked for more tortillas we kept getting less and less each time. We got charged $5 for a small portion of "sour cream sauce" which I'm not sure was even their standard sour cream sauce. No peppers or tomatoes or anything in it. Super liquid. Seemed like they made it on the fly for me. It wasn't even good.. idk just seemed like we were nothing but a burden on our server. Not the first time that server has made our experience less than. The first time she wasn't even our server but she ignored one of her tables and then when they told a manager she was loudly talking bad about that table in the back where the table could hear her! Im not sure why she is still working at this place.. im a server myself and stuff like that would be unacceptable at my restaurant. Basic attentiveness and manners go a long way when serving. Anticipate your guests needs before they have to ask, and if they do ask don't seem annoyed, at least to their faces.
Food is expensive for the quality, took forever to get our food. Then the food comes, grandson’s kid meal fish was not good, my chicken quesadillas were the worst I have ever had. Chicken and rice was dry. Our server was very sweet and he gets five stars. But it was our son’s birthday and he chose to eat here because the new restaurant in town was too packed. We are from here, but have moved away and came back to only find that a place we used to eat at, the prices went up and food quality went down.
I just picked up some food from there and I tried to get this lady's attention she was putting up wine glasses and once she was done I tried to get her attention by saying "excuse me ma'am" and she…
Turn on the music and air conditioning in banquet room.
The waitress was talkingtoher boyfriend. After several minutes we asked her to take our order. She popped her. Lips, rolled her eyes and came to our table witha very serious attitude! We decided…
Ordered the steak and shrimp ranchero and it was literally the absolute worst steak I have ever had in my life. I ordered it medium and it was straight burnt and it took the one hour to bring it out. Zero stars been going here for years and will not no longer put my taste buds through that travesty
Food quality is slightly higher than taco bell. Prices are insanely high. Portions are small. I just door dashed a fajita bowl, and the little plop of rice with chicken on top for $18 is pitiful.
We were trying to have 30 family members of the Volunteer Fire Department. After the manager was notified and asked to separate a table, they never communicated and made us wait for more than 45 minutes even when called weeks ahead. They tell us that they could not offer their party room. It is sad that they have little to none appreciation and courtesy to the FD. Management has poor communication skills. Sadly our sponsors companies for the Christmas meals were not happy for that and their owners and the FD would decided not to go there again. This was sad as this was to show appreciation to those man that serve for free our community but this company has no appreciation for them.
Came to eat following a funeral service. Lots of friends and family members that attended the funeral came as this is one of the few places in Athens. We were all sat in the banquet room, although we were not all together. (there was 4-5 different parties.) Our party specifically had 8 people, and we each ordered on drink. Prior to leaving we wanted to do a toast for our friend, and asked our server if they had the ingredients to make little beer shots. She was unsure (and also busy attending to our other needs) so rather than having her run around for us more we opted to go ask the bartender if she could do little beer shots. Upon speaking with the bartender, the manager approached us and informed us that the entire banquet room was cut off. (Keep in mind, we did not know or come with the other tables in the banquet room) We then asked the manager for clarification on why our table was cut off as we had only had one drink each. He advised that everyone was "out of control" and there was no way to "track the consumption of alcohol at the tables." We then asked to speak with the regional manager, Debbie. Debbie gave us the same reasoning, and explained that the other table had ordered multiple drinks and rounds of shots. We informed Debbie that we only had one drink each, and that we did not come with the other parties in the banquet room nor did we know them. Debbie stated that it didn't matter, and she made a "management call" due to the alleged chaos the other table was making. I asked Debbie if two tables arrived at the same time, and one got rowdy and the other didn't if both would be cut off. She said no, then exclaimed that she has the right to refuse service to anyone. I then asked for corporates number, then was aggressively approached by a man named Walter. I asked him to write down his number, which he provided. There is a very apparent lack of proper management and communication between employees at this establishment. After speaking with management, when we returned to the banquet room the large table was all standing in a line by the POS waiting to receive their checks. We later discovered that the other waitress that was serving them did not bother to ask about how the tabs should be separated- this was 100% an error made by the server. Had she properly sorted the other tabs, they would have been able to track the amount of alcohol consumed by each person which would have prevented the entire room being cut off. I would also like to add that the other parties were not causing a disturbance, it was a little loud due to the 50+ people in the room but nobody appeared to be drunk or incoherent. Our server, Melissa and the bartender Evie both provided amazing service and were very kind to us and apologized for our poor experience. If this is the kind of management that exists at the other locations, its not surprising that Jalepeno Tree is going out of business so quickly. It is absolutely unacceptable and could be considered discrimination for a table to be cut off based off another parties actions/behavior, those individuals again, were people we did not know or come to dine with. The only similarity is that we had all attended the same funeral. We will absolutely not be returning based on the utter lack of customer service/professionalism displayed by management.
We arrived at 2pm(not very busy) and was told they were out of all kinds of salsas, but were making more. We then asked two employees how long it would be for Salsa, and they rudely answered we already told you we are out. Our dishes are dirty, and it’s going to be a long time before we have any salsa. How does a Mexican restaurant not have salsa? And how does it take hours to make more? And why are the employees so rude about it? They should be apologetic
Granted, we had a large dining party... Reservations were made a month in advance for 25 adults. We had our entire table of larger adults at a few tables that had been lined up in a straight line with one end at a wall and the other end of the tables were the waitstaff was to key in orders and such. If anyone needed to leave the table, several people would have to get up from their seats and then squeeze between others and the wall, which was only maybe 2ft from the edge of the table... I had to ask for things several times. Our waitress was waiting for our table of 25 as well as several other tables as well. Although there were other employees that were coming in and out helping. It was not the waitress fault she was trying her best. The food was definitely not worth the price & my chicken wasnt fully cooked... THE entire experience was terrible.
I went there a week ago with my wife and 3 kids. Everyone was being told that it would take 20 minutes to be seated. Like most places, they're understaffed so even though there was an abundance of empty tables, people were waiting to have a waiter that was available before they could get seated. We waited for 40 minutes before we decided to leave. During that time, about 5 other groups of people gave up on being seated and left as well. Two different people that had been seated had to come ask the host to send their waiter to their table to take their order. That's when we decided it was better to just go elsewhere. We went right down the street to Dairy Queen and got fast, polite service and paid less. I understand that most places of business are understaffed, but I've been to this location countless times over the last decade and I have always had the impression that the waiters are treated poorly by the supervisors. I think I've seen a few waiters being reprimanded and almost anyone that's ever waited on me has seemed really stressed out and scared of getting in trouble. The way the supervisors walk the dining room and ask "Is everything okay?", it just gives of a vibe that says "Do I need to drag your waiter to the kitchen and give them another beating". It's weird. You can just tell it's a toxic work environment. If they aren't willing to pay more and treat their employees better, it'll end up just like Golden Corral did.
My sister and I stopped by here yesterday (first time) around 4:00 to have a margarita as we heard they were good. We ordered “The Patron” which the bar tender recommended. It was good. We got the bill, it was $28! Ridiculous! That’s what you pay in Dallas at a top rated restaurant for a really great margarita. We asked if there was happy hour pricing, (after getting the bill), she said yes, their house margarita was $4.75. Sure would have been nice if she had shared that while we were asking for her recommendation. And there were tables near the bar filled with dirty dishes and it was not busy at all. Will never go back!
Ultimate nachos was not what we ordered. Remade them brought them back with hair on them and meat raw, had to take them back to remake. Was kind of freaked out to really eat them after the hairs. Yes I said hairs. 2 or 3 long ones. Manager even saw them as he sat the plate on the table Manager did nothing to compensate either. Won't be back. They used to be good but seems like they have went down heal as far as food quality.
My family and I visit you guys this evening and to start off the server’s were already looking some type of way. As we go to get seated the waitress rush us to order(really not understanding). Like this very unacceptable behavior and for us to come eat there from out of town. We gotten our food but it seems as if it was a problem asking for extra ranch for our salads but get charged for it is unacceptable as well. No one should have to pay something like this when the entrees were already expensive. It’s not about the price or money, it’s about taken care of your customers. We will never come back there and hope you guys get better. I will be calling corporate about this as well…
After eating, my dad’s credit card was misplaced or lost before our waiter (Waylon) was able to charge for the meal. He must have accidentally left it somewhere or it ended up in the trash can. He then was SUPER apologetic, kind, helpful, remorseful & genuine sorry for his mistake and we saw him look for the card despite his other tables he was serving. This review has nothing to do with our waiter, it has everything to do with the rude management. Now the owner/manger said absolutely NOTHING to either of us, no apology and the lady looked as if this was more of an inconvenience for her then anyone (uh hello our credit card is lost?) - despite the 15 minutes search, no one besides our sweet waiter came over to say anything, no apology or anything. Super unprofessional & clearly they have no remorse for a mistake made in THEIR establishment due to an error on THEIR part. Will be not be returning but wish Waylon the best!
Soup Togo orders are not worth it. If you order a bowl of soup you get 2x this amount. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue as well and have brought it to their attention. My bowl is right under half full. This soup is $11 dollars.. which honestly isn’t that cheap so to only get this much really sucks to be honest. If you get Togo orders be sure to double.. if not triple check all your stuff before driving home.
Came here to eat after walking all day at first Monday. The hostess was not up front but we didn’t wait long but she was so rude, no smile no thank you, threw our chips and salsa at us. Waiting for over 10 minutes for our waiter. Finally had to stop the manager to at least get our drinks.
My wife and I came in for a late lunch. The host greeted us and seated us, and then…we were ghosted like a bad Tinder date. No chips, no salsa, no drinks—nothing. We waited several minutes, staring into the void like extras in a slow-motion scene. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so it wasn’t some mysterious crowd chaos—it was just us, ignored, fading away into oblivion. Eventually, we left and went next door to Applebee’s, where they actually know how to take care of guests: drinks, smiles, and a little human interaction. Honestly, the staff here could use a lesson in the lost art of acknowledging humans before they vanish into thin air.
The staff was all nice except the manager. She looked like she didn’t like to be there and we’re super rude. Honestly, I would’ve called her Karen super rude at her employees and everything.. it’s really sad to see good employees having to follow underneath a really bad manager.
I ordered the single order of fajitas couldn't believe my eyes when they brought it to my table there was hardly anything there hardly any meat hardly any vegetables(jalapeno tree in Athens Texas) didn't even sizzle like fajitas are supposed to when they bring it to your table. Paid 25 dollars for this. I'm used to the fajitas in Arkansas(fort Smith) (just a single order)you get A pile of sizzling meat and veggies. My fajitas didn't even really have any flavor so disappointed. When I come back to Texas I will never come back to this restaurant. Look up the picture I posted this was my order of fajitas at the jalapeno tree. That's just sick looking. And it most definitely was not hot and sizzling when it was brought to my table. NEVER AGAIN!
While waiting for my meal, I quickly noticed that the person bringing out my chips and salsa was sweating profusely and was staring at me with an angry expression. I was still courteous and the only response I received was an angry expression and the sounds of the salsa bowls tossed on my table. This was a very unpleasant experience. A person in such a state should not have been serving food or interacting with customers. The food is your standard fare Mexican cuisine that you can find for much cheaper at other places. I will not be returning and I have informed my colleagues to also stay away.
