Opinions de Auburn Ale House Auburn
We stopped here on our way home from Tahoe after being stuck in traffic so we were hungry and grumpy. Restaurant was busy even late on a Sunday but accommodated us cheerfully and gracefully. Service was good, especially considering how busy it was. Food was good, hot, prompt; beer was good. We left much happier than when we arrived.
The Auburn Alehouse is awesome! It never disappoints (experience, food, beer). I always feel like I should be walking out the door and putting on a pair of skis. Anyway, many great food choices & private label beer. The Alehouse burger 🍔ROCKS! It is one of the best bacon style burgers I’ve had.
Brew pub in quaint N.Cal gold town. Had lunch while looking around the history of Auburn. We went in on a Sunday at 11. Most patrons in the bar area were watching football. We sat outside and had a great time. Good drinks and great food. Bison burger was the winner that day. I enjoyed a pilsner made in house. Would come back again
Great service, good and beer. Try ahi tacos and bloody marry! Love coming here
I've been here three times since moving to the Auburn area. Getting the canned beer is probably the cheapest way to go. $8.50 per can, gets you, I forget if it's 28 oz, or 30 oz?. I recall it's like two and a half beers. The second time there, somewhat busy, I sat at the bar for about 10 minutes while the server took care of the people to the left of me and to the right of me, who had already obviously been previously served food and drink. She didn't look at me once. The average person would have probably been a little frustrated. Yes I could have called her out for service, but I wanted to wait and see what would actually happen. J*** finally came over and offered service. Other than that, the beer is cold, the food is good, and of course everything costs more now than ever.
I feel like my taste buds have been missing out on this gem. People have told me it's good, but "it's good" doesn't lure me in. Ok that beer cheese that goes with the Bavarian pretzel is F#&ken Amazing! And the Chipotle Lime Bowl was yummy to ... but the cheese ooooh sooo good. The cheese bread appetizer too was delicious. You know what - just order a bunch of appetizers and you'll be happy! You're welcome!
This place has a little thing of everything, we had the pretzel, Alehouse chicken bites and the BBQ burger along with the Fish and Chips, everything was delicious, the pretzel was a bit hard outside and soft inside, the meat on the burger was perfectly cooked and the batter on the fish and chips was outstanding 😋, great place to eat or just have a couple of brews, will definitely come back when in town..
We love coming to Auburn Alehouse and it has become one of our Auburn go-to places. Great outdoor seating and friendly staff. The service is consistent. The drinks are good. They have many great brews to choose from, along with cocktails. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!
My partner and I had the tacos. I had. The beef tacos and my partner had the fish tacos, and have to say they were probably the best tacos we've had in years. So delicious. So flavorful. I highly recommend anyone to order the tacos.
I came here when the restaurant first opened and havent gone back over the years since I do not usually drive through Auburn often. Decided to stop in from my trip to Tahoe and I was very pleased. The restaurant is very clean and does not seem worn down at all. I ordered their cheese loaf and it was superb. Service promptness was not bad or great but the staff seem happy and hard working. I think I came in during a transitioning time between lunch and dinner. The bathroom was very clean which is important to me since I di not like high trafficked places. And I know it's super small but I wad just so impressed with the floral arrangement because I thought they were fake since they were so perfect. I know it's a small thing but that's what women like, the little thing.
Places like this are very hard to find. I need 10 freaking stars for the service! We haven't been here in years. The place was busy (Memorial Day, LOVE TO OUR FALLEN SOLDIERS🧡💛💙💙🩵💜). We found a couple of stools to camp out on while we waited for our table. Two different servers ( Kelsey and Kendall) stopped by and asked if we would like to see some menus while we waited and, of course, a beer! The beers were delayed because they had to change the keg. My wife went to our table (they texted us). I hung out for the beers. One of the servers stopped by to tell me that she saw my wife at the table and I could go find her and they would bring the beers over. The food was fantastic. I asked for their names so I could write this review. Turns out, Kendall was our server. She was working other tables and STILL stopped to help us when we were waiting for a table. Congratulations to the management for having these two amazing people on your staff.
Lots of food options full of flavor. Our server Vince was very attentive and welcoming to us. Great experience!
We love the Auburn Alehouse! Great service, ambiance, and food! Pictured here is a new menu item, the cauliflower tacos. It is going to be my new craveable meal for sure! Fried cauli tossed in Buffalo sauce topped with a bleu cheese crema, lettuce, avocado, and cilantro. Delish! And they can make it vegan if ya wanna. Also they have THE BEST fried chicken I may have ever had, awesome burgers and apps, and obviously their beer is amazing! Try this place, but make a reservation if you have a party of 8 or more! Especially on weekend nights.
This place is always awesome. Great employees and the food and drinks are top notch.
Had a great lunch and beer here today. Service, good and beer were all good. We started with the cheese loaf...SO GOOD. I didn't get a picture because we just all started eating it too fast. I got the Alehouse burger and sweet potato fries...so good. Great place to enjoy drinks and food..
My Friday is one of the best beers I've ever had. Steak sandwich and fries were delicious. Ahi tuna was a bit funky. Service was great.
We stopped here and had to try it. I had the Tri Tip Sammy and an Irish Stout and he had the Reuben and an Old Town Brown. The sandwiches came hot and were incredibly delicious! The fries are amazing! The beer was fantastic! They were quite busy, but the staff was super polite and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place!
Skip In-N-Out Burger and come here for a sit down meal. Top-notch burgers, fish n’ chips, and beer selection!
Without a doubt this is one of the top brew pubs in Placer County. The location alone makes this place special, with an old school and eclectic vibe in the middle of downtown Auburn. They've got a solid list of taps and some great rotating options as well. They've been known for their IPAs for a while and they continue to do them well. The food menu is also great, with some unique items and specials as well as breakfast/brunch on the weekend!
First time here, I was very impressed with the quality of the food. But the service was outstanding, we had been hiking all day and we had our dog, they allow dogs on the back patio, they brought out ice water for her without having to ask. We ordered grilled chicken breast they served it in a disposable bowl. A awsome end to our family day. We will definitely be back.
I frequent this place and I have to say, they are the nicest restaurant in the area in regard to service. I love that they are always so happy to help and give recommendations. If you go, try the fried chicken. DELISH!!
Our favorite place for beer and the best fried pickles. Try pairing their own IPA called MY FRIDAY. Yummy 😋
Great brewery to check out it old town auburn. They have a nice variety of beer as well as a full bar. The food is great as well. I ordered the presto chicken sandwich and it was tasty! Nice atmosphere inside and outside. There is an outdoor patio as well. Perfect spot to visit with plenty to do within walking distance.
I liked this place because it had a lot of places to go to visit and eat. The people here were pretty nice especially the employees trying to help you with anything. My favorite part was the statue and all the other silly things it had there like the lake and other monuments. It is a really good place to visit and walk. Sincerely it a very enjoyable place to visit for a short time. Plus the graffiti under the bridge, the statues face, and the statues Christmas hat was pretty funny. The only thing I would say is bad here is the bathrooms so watch out for that.
The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Food was very good and had beer pairing to go along. The staff was very nice and had very good recommendations. Left with a crowler of ale and I'll definitely be back!
The Auburn Ale House in Auburn, California is a fantastic spot for a casual meal and drinks. The atmosphere is lively and upbeat, with a friendly staff that creates a welcoming environment. The menu features a variety of classic pub fare, including burgers, wings, and salads, as well as unique dishes like the Ale House Fish & Chips. Everything is made with fresh ingredients and has a delicious taste. The portions are generous, making it a great value for the price. The bar features a wide selection of local and regional beers, as well as signature cocktails. The bartenders are knowledgeable and can make recommendations based on your personal tastes. The Auburn Ale House is a great place to relax and enjoy some good food and drinks. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun night out.
This was my First time in Auburn. My cousin is a Christian Rapper and has a performance out this way, and in Reno, he was kind enough to invite me to come along. We decided to have dinner at Auburn Alehouse. No complaints at all. I Kept it simple and had a House Salad with Grilled Chicken, and some red wine. The Vinaigrette for the salad was delicious! We are Blessed! The Food was good, service was great, and a very pleasant atmosphere with friendly people. I recommend this place to anyone who happens to be in this area. God Bless!
I specifically went there with my cousin. Because I heard that had great burgers. When I got there I didn't see anyone eating hamburgers at any tables. I ended up ordering the chicken lettuce wraps. Which were great. And halfway through my meal... out came all these beautiful looking hamburgers. So I will definitely be going back tomorrow to order the mushroom Swiss Burger I was eyeballing. Waitress with sweet set me up a set of Beers to enjoy Highly recommend it. Can't wait till things are back to normal
It might be surprising to hear that we were recommend the Auburn Alehouse not for their ale, but actually specially for the Cheese Loaf. This is a “6 inch sourdough round stuffed with artisan cheeses, garlic butter & chives on balsamic vinegar, olive oil, crushed red peppers”. It is a delicious comfort food that you can easily share with others. It is delicious with lots of tasty cheese, and you can dip it for the savory vinegar, oil, and spiced peppers. Aside from that, the other food was also tasty, but nowhere near as notable in my opinion. While waiting for a table, you might be able to walk around the surrounding shops and streets as there are occasional farmers market like gatherings of locals selling crafts, foods, and wares.
Great ambience and good food! The beers on tap were delicious! Fish and chips were good sized, fish was fresh and flaky! They make theirs with cod! Seasoned fries were good too! The fish tacos were tasty, again fresh fish. "Star of the show" was their cheese loaf, crispy bread on the outside stuffed with cheese and placed on a bed of balsamic and olive oil! A pull apart piece of bread. Good beer, good food, great experience!
This place is a great place to eat and enjoy company. Lots of beer to select from. Our food was very tasty. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. She recommended the ahi tuna nachos appetizer which we ordered. We also got some crazy burger and a spin on a southern classic dish: fried chicken with sausage gravy. It was awesome. (I'm from the south.)
Amazing food, amazing music, and amazing atmosphere!! Staff are friendly, smart, and easy to communicate with. Took my half Def grandmother here on her birthday and the staff were so patient to listen as it was still loud in the place! Overall 15/10!!! Will go again. Update: Went back a second time, but now, if you dine inside, it's the complete opposite. Its humid as hell, loud, crowded even when seated. The food isn't the problem, same for the staff. But the inside is just what brings my review lower than before. They should leave the AC on if it's 90° outside. And today it's 103°
Great service and good food. Convenient location, by the Loomis train station. Indoor bar and seating. And for the patio seating ... dogs are not only allowed, but welcome! Staff was friendly and efficient, food was good. They serve some of their own micro brew beers; the Porter I had, had light citrus undertones.
What an amazing restaurant! Dog friendly patio. Right in old downtown Auburn. The service was top notch! The food was even better! I had one of the craziest brunch meals I've ever had called the early bird two homemade Belgian waffles very good fried chicken breast sunny side up egg apple butter and ample pieces of thick bacon. It was uniquely amazing. My wife had the pot pie. My son had the fried pickles. We unanimously decided they were the best fried pickles we'd ever had. Great beer & wine selection. Oh and the homemade tater tots were probably the best I've ever had as well!
Love this spot. The cheese loaf is life. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is great. They have an amazing drink selection and a couple yummy mocktails also. The beers and cider on tap is awesome. The only complaint is they dont have more seating. It is always super packed no matter when I go. Understandably because its so delicious 😋
We ate dinner and had a beer on our way home from skiing. It was delicious food and a perfect beer pairing. I had the Brewmaster's burger cooked medium (and it was!) My friend had the Rueben sandwich. We both requested extra crisp fries...they were! The beer pairings, Fools Gold Ale with the burger and the Old Town Brown with the Rueben, were spot on. Always a great experience at Auburn Alehouse. We'll be back!
My wife & I along with our two friends visited the Auburn Alehouse this Sunday. We just finished a beautiful hike along the American River and everyone was indeed of a cold beer. The Alehouse is in a beautiful historic building in the hart of Old Aburn. They are dog friendly with a nice outside seating area. There were numerous home brews on tap. We all had several rounds of the Gold County Pillsner. Good beer, cold & refreshing like a Pills should be. Our server was on top of it. She kept the beers coming and had a great attitude. Everyone had an a good experience, and we look forward to our next visit.
Great SERVICE from the moment we waked in the door; good job Jake! I wish I could remember everyone’s name to make this review more personal - You all were great. My Friend had the soup of the day while I had the Ale House Burger with extra bacon. If you not from Auburn I would recommend the trip, after you done enjoy the rest of Old Town. And if you live here and haven’t made it down here - What are you waiting for? My rating in exceptional, about the 5 stars.
Drove up from Roseville to see a concert and thought Auburn would be a nice place to eat beforehand. Our party of four showed up about 5pm on a Saturday night. We were greeted by hostess who informed us that inside seating would be about 15 minutes but there was outside dining available now and that room was heated. We chose the outside patio which was comfortably warm.We had excellent service from our waiter (Caleb) He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Meal was awesome and served in a timely manner. I had the crispy chicken sandwich with the Nashville Hot sauce, best chicken sandwich ever eaten!
I go to Auburn Alehouse twice a year when I’m in town for events. I sit at the bar, everythings’ always great. This last visit, the male bartender was too busy to look up at his customers the entire time I was there. I had a burger, and a beer. I couldn’t get his attention for anything. Don’t let this dissuade you from going though, the service is usually very good, especially from the women bartenders.
I was able to join a group of fellow hikers at this Ale House and it was so delightful! The patio is spacious and the selection of food went beyond just your typical brew pub food. I ordered the ahi nachos and it was fresh & delicious! They were extremely busy so it took a while to get our food delivered, but otherwise an excellent experience. Highly recommend if you are in the Auburn area!
Came in on Valentine's Day with a friend and ordered a Strawberry Salad off of their Valentine's Menu as well as a cup of the soup of the day which was Clam Chowder. Both were absolutely delicious. After finishing the salad, I had realized I didn't have a physical debit card on hand but luckily they do tap to pay which was super helpful so I didn't have to transfer money to my friends card. Service was quick and friendly.
This place is absolutely amazing! From the moment you step in, you're greeted with fantastic food, top-notch service, and a charming old-time atmosphere. And let me tell you, the ales here are bursting with flavor! Plus, they have a great selection of gluten-friendly options for all you foodies out there. I've been lucky enough to visit this place a few times, and each visit has been nothing short of fantastic. The service is always on point, and the food is absolutely delicious. On my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of meeting up with a friend who's about to embark on an incredible journey abroad. We sat at the bar, enjoying each other's company for hours. And let me tell you, the views from this place are out of this world! I even managed to capture a stunning double rainbow 🌈. Talk about a picture-perfect moment! This place is not only fun and enjoyable, but it's also steeped in history. You can feel the vibrant energy and the stories that have unfolded within these walls. So, if you're looking for a place with great food, amazing service, and a whole lot of fun, this is the spot for you! Don't miss out on the chance to create your own unforgettable memories here. Parking is a bit tricky, there are a few handicap spots around.
Simply the best beer & amazing food brought by awesome food service professionals! This place is amazing, I am willing to bet there’s not one bad item on this menu. Pilsner is clean, herb backed and refreshing. Gold Digger IPA is a master class in how it should be done. Cauliflower wings as appetizers, Braised short rib and mushroom Alfredo, Mac & Cheese and an amazing burger made to order. Lovely place to wile away the rainy gold country afternoon. Destination eats!
Excellent beers in such a cool venue! This place was crazy busy but worth the wait. After the wait and ordering beers, the waitress brought our beers with tasters of similar beers - encouraging trying and wanting different beers. Had the cauliflower wings, they were awesome! Burgers and fries were nothing to complain about either.

We had pork rib tacos and a lime cilantro rice bowl and both were outstanding. The food and the wine were both great and the service was excellent.

I always love the food, service and most of all food here! And, I will be back because it is and always has been, a super safe and clean restaurant. If you are afraid of Covid stay home.
This was a great brewery and restaurant. This is a fun and relaxing stop, if you are in Auburn and are into beer. They have a flight available for tastings; as well as a mic of canned and growler options for taking your favorites home. I recommend the Red Ale and Brown. The IPAs were on par with traditional IPAs; so if you are an IPA fan, they will likely not disappoint.
I very much enjoyed my meal here. The service was great and the atmosphere was very enjoyable.
Really cool brewery restaurant. Lots of wood and brick, just like it's supposed to be. Really good food. Poke nachos were super good. Great sauce. Fish and chips were good. Wife is British and approved. Service was very good and employees were very nice and attentive. They gave me a couple beer tasters so I could pick my favorite. Good beer 🍺 cheers.
Great food, excellent waitress, neat historic bldg. They brew their own beers which the Shanghai stout beer awesome. The thing that irritates us was the flys, on the patio. Full bar lots with a tv. Plenty of indoor/outdoor seating. Restrooms were clean, street parking or lot. Very crowded less then 20 min wait.
Had dinner with a girlfriend before heading out for a fun night. Got here around 5:30 so it wasn't packed yet. It was Taco Tuesday so we ordered off the happy hour menu. Had a shredded pork taco, a chicken enchilada and shared chips and salsa withe a side of large guacamole. I had a Shirley Temple on the rocks, stir not shaken with TWO cherries! The hard stuff! Living on the edge. She had the pint of the night.
Located in Old Town Auburn. I really enjoy the food here. I mostly sit in their outdoor seating in the back area and they've got heat lamps when it gets chilly out and umbrellas for when the sun is just doing too much. They have various food options but lunch favorites include buffalo wings and their fish and chips. Servers are super nice and friendly as well, they're attentive and get your order in quickly. They've got a nice atmosphere in the back and you can exit that way too without going back in through the whole restaurant.
It was a packed house on a hot Saturday afternoon. There was one table in the back outside kind of by itself that we sat at, took about 10 minutes for our server to arrive which seemed like a long wait in the sun. We ordered alcohol and water, hoping our water would arrive quick as it was hot but it was brought after our drinks and with our food. We ordered fish n chips which were delicious and a good sized portion. The burger was cooked perfectly. The drinks were made great so they food and drinks made up for the long wait at first. We will definitely be back to try more beer and hopefully our service will be a little better next time.
Great atmosphere, fantastic food, fair price! Had a great first experience here. Plenty of beers to select from and try out! Every entree was on point! If you're in the area it's worth the pop in! Dessert definitely hit on a level above most typical generic options. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice you make across the menu. The pretzel and the pickle chips are a must try as well!
Beers tended to the hoppy side. Menu showed more above 30ibu than below. Food was tasty but slightly higher $$ than I would expect. 2 tacos for 14. They were however Very Tasty!. Waitress was attentive and came they were able to present a salad with oil and vinegar, subbing egg for the chicken and helping us avoid the Garlic allergy.

Cute ale house in Auburn, pretty conservative but that’s pretty much Auburn in general, so be aware you might get some stares if you don’t fall in that category. I got the Crispy Chicken sandwich. Honestly I think their appetizers are much better than the entrees. Food as a whole is a bit over priced. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Beer is decent and I like that they have a full bar.
Flavor good, food way overcooked/dry. Beer good. Don't go for the food. Staff nice.
Fried pickles were over salted, we had to send back. French fries were cold. The chicken club was OK. To make it Nashville hot they use a Asian chilli oil which is not Nashville hot flavot.Lettuce wrap teriyaki chicken was over seasoned. The cabbage salad with the dressing was best part of meal
The Real Deal is the Auburn Alehouse which delivers on starters and drinks….cheers! Let’s kick it off with the atmosphere which is a very nice pub style restaurant with a full bar with seating, outdoor seating, big booths. The restaurant has branding items from magnets to shirts to hats which are Nicely done! Now let’s talk service which was pretty smooth. Food and drink delivery was timely with some input when asked for a newer waitress I was impressed. Let’s go to the Main Event: the Food!! I’ve heard a lot of first hand reviews so I picked based on this. Started off with the Fried Pickles which were amazing, good crunch, Seasoned to perfection (9/10). The Kids Cheeseburger was delicious and big (9/10). The Fried Chicken which is known signature dishes this is where this review took a turn, I’ve had chicken across the world so I have high expectations, the chicken cook was good, the breading needed more flavor and thicker coating since they drowned it in gravy and place on top of the mashed potatoes. Fried chicken (6/10), gravy (8/10) pretty good, mashed potatoes (5/10). The Red Sauce Tacos which were just ok and salty (3/10). Tri Tip Sandwiches which the meat needed work and rest of the sandwich was good (6.5/10). The Side Salad was excellent with crispy cold bowl and Italian Vinaigrette dressing (10/10). Overall drinks yes, food hit and miss. Probably won’t be back to this one unless for a drink. Cheers!!

Went with my mom. Basic American style food. \nWe ordered a well done burger which was burnt to a crisp. It is also such a small burger and this is their main burger on the menu..The frose is a…
Chicken pot pie is a joke no crust and they don’t tell you that. Cross ribs are not chops ribs it’s chuck roast . This company keeps skimping and menus is getting worse. Just sell decent food please and match your good beer. Less Sacramento vibes more Auburn foothills please
We have been here numerous times without issue. Our last visit was awful. service was bad but the most recent experience was on Jan 17th. Took. Forever to get our bread appetizer and even then it w…
I have to say that I was really disappointed in our food at Auburn Alehouse. At $20 for a burger I was expecting something pretty special, at the very least some quality ingredients and good size. Instead I got a glorified school cafeteria burger. Small, bland, and easily twice the price of what it should have been, though I wouldn't have paid $10 for it. Only edible because the overcooked, cheap bacon added a tiny bit of fat and flavor. Honestly I was a little shocked that they'd charge so much for something as mediocre as this. Maybe they're riding high on past successes. I certainly won't be back anytime soon. Just down the road, The Station Public House has FAR better food and a bigger selection of beers and you'll probably even save a few bucks. I really dislike hidden fees, especially on top of already insane pricing. They advertise that you get a "discount" for paying with cash, but the reality is they tack on a surcharge for card purchases. Icing on the cake kicking this down to a single star for me. The Cheese Loaf was fine, though not all that exciting. The fries were decent. Their beers were good, though not special or innovative in any way. Our waitress was very nice.
