Outstanding experience on all levels. Kevin, or server, and the food runner on the evening of February 15th were wonderful. Each time our dishes were delivered, we received a polished and detailed description.

This establishment never disappoints!! Third time visiting now. From the greeting until our departure, everything was absolutely perfect. Bran takes care of us every single time with kindness and grace! We always know who to ask for now! The food is always a fantastic way to end the day. Thanks Chef Juan for providing such an amazing service with the feast and even stopping by to see us! We can truly feel the passion and craft put into the food. Can't wait until we come back this summer ❤️

We were staying at the LINE and checked out this restaurant for dinner and absolutely loved it. We ordered the grilled oyster mushrooms and the Texas farm salad to start; highly recommend both. The bartender was kind enough to let us know our entree was dragging a bit behind and sent us a burrata on the house. The burrata is absolutely delicious and different from your standard idea of what a burrata should be; I appreciated the creativity. The star of the show was the pork chop. Hugh portion (enough for two), cooked perfectly, and packed with flavor. Highly recommend this spot!

Fantastic restaurant for a date night. The swordfish and Berkshire pork meals were delicious and the bartender made drinks to perfection that came out pretty quickly. To top it off, the server was attentive and would would walk by the table to see if we needed anything but had great discretion to know when to verbally check on us as to not overly interfere. Top notch experience.

Tucked into the LINE Hotel with sweeping views of Lady Bird Lake, Arlo Grey by Top Chef alum Kristen Kish is the kind of spot that turns a simple dinner into a sultry escape. The ambiance? Pure romance with dim, moody lighting casting a golden glow over sleek, modern tables, while the gentle hum of conversation and clinking glasses feels intimate without being stuffy. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the glittering Austin skyline at dusk, making it impossible not to steal glances (and a few selfies) between bites. It’s the perfect backdrop for a date night, where the world outside fades into a hazy, sunset-kissed dream. Service here is next-level, the kind that makes you feel like the only couple in the room. Our server anticipated every need with effortless charm, offering thoughtful wine pairings that elevated the meal without overwhelming us. And the bussers? Absolute pros they swooped in the moment we polished off a plate, keeping our table clean and the energy light. It was that rare one-on-one attention that turns good dining into memorable magic. We kicked things off sharing the rainbow trout crudo: red chile gazpacho, TX peach, watermelon radish, and basil. The gazpacho was fragrant and bursting with summer vibes, bright, spicy notes but a touch too salty for my palate, pulling focus from the harmony. That said, the fish itself was so impossibly fresh it dissolved in your mouth, making the whole dish worth every salty speck. Next up, the crispy rice with saffron aioli, crab, bacon, cucumber, cilantro, and haricot vert. Oh man—this was the star, straight-up addictive. Crunchy, golden bites laced with luxurious crab and that whisper of smoky bacon, all tied together by the floral saffron cream. We kept circling back for “just one more,” fighting over the last pieces like kids. The pork chop followed, perched on carrot & caper purée, braised cabbage, nasturtium gremolata, and enoki mushrooms. Cooked to smoky, juicy perfection with a gorgeous char, it was hearty Central Texas comfort dialed up to elegant. The cut leaned fattier, which added rich depth though it might overwhelm lighter appetites all of this is ideal for sharing, as we did. We wrapped with desserts that hit all the sweet spots: the sourdough ice cream, tangy and creamy with that unexpected crunchy sourdough croutons and the peach upside-down cake—pure nostalgia with a Texas twist, light enough to end on a high note without regret. Arlo Grey nails that blend of refined whimsy and heartfelt hospitality. If you’re chasing romance with a side of stellar seasonal eats, this is your spot. Can’t wait to return.

Everything was exquisite! Apparently the chef won top chef with their rigatoni recipe and I can see why! Prices were very reasonable, service was fantastic, and the view of the water was gorgeous. You can even potentially see the bats leave from under the bridge if timed right.

Went here with a few friends and loved! Great service and atmosphere and such creative dishes. P6 (The Line’s rooftop bar) was closed for a private event when we went, but I think dinner here and then a nightcap there would be such a perfect night!

Came here the other day and Kevin was the best waiter I have had in a while. Very personable and friendly making the experience very unique! Everything he recommended and brought us out was delicious! Highly recommend the grilled sourdough and the sticky rice. The pork we had was also amazing. Thanks Kevin! Was great talking Twin Peaks with him. Don’t skip dessert here.

Really nice. We went late at night for drinks and food. The cocktails were delicious. The bread was heavenly. Soft with butter and so flavourful. We enjoyed our girl's night. Definitely going back.

What a balanced and incredibly flavorful menu! This is my second visit to this restaurant and wanted to share the experience with friends, which they loved! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and so courteous with all of our questions (for vegetarian options). Staff were all so friendly. My favorites that I tried this go around were the lasagna (veg) and the burrata (the sauce isn't veg) with the grilled sourdough. The sourdough is an absolutely must have. I wasn't able to finish all of my lasagna during our visit and was overjoyed how flavorful it was still when I reheated the next day in the oven! I also adore the Love Bug cocktail with my meal. Definitely an unforgettable experience! (The hotel has valet but we always ride-share to the restaurant to not worry so much about parking)

The wagyu ribeye was delish! So did the pork chop! What’s interesting was the veggies that pair with each protein, they were savory on its own but also cleansed the palates. The rabbit gnocchi was different and delicious.

We went here to celebrate our first anniversary and it didn’t disappoint! When we arrived to the table there was a card for us signed by the chef, which was a sweet touch. The menu is full of items to share so it was perfect to order several things and enjoy talking about them together. Even the drinks were complex and delicious (I recommend the Love Bug!). Each dish was carefully explained by our server who was incredibly knowledgeable about every ingredient. I recommend the Kanpachi crudo, which was in a bright and refreshing strawberry dashi broth with grilled strawberries, which was delicious and interesting. The wagyu steak was delicious and we loved the sunflower details, as was the rigatoni we were inspired to order after our server informed us that it was a winning dish on Top Chef. To top it all off, we had the sourdough ice cream which is definitely one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. At the end of it all our server gave us some complementary champagne to toast our anniversary, which was a really sweet touch. It was a great experience in a very romantic space- we really enjoyed it and definitely want to come back and try the other dishes. Also- they treated my food allergy seriously and with grace and I appreciate it. This is a safe dining option for people with severe nut allergies and I felt comfortable that my server knew every component of each dish.

The chef here is incredible! Having eaten my way around the world in 70+ countries I can confidently say this is one of the top 2 best meals I had in my life time. Each of the 14 dishes we tried showed the unique style of the chef with personal touches that made me feel like I truly could not eat this meal or another one like it anywhere else. The dining experience was both elevated and approachable by combining comfort with sophistication, turning familiar ingredients into something special. The unique, bold flavors were in perfect harmony with one another. Though it was incredibly hard to pick, among my favorites were: - The AG Grilled Sourdough: was a perfect balance of tangy green olives, smoky scallions, and creamy feta, making every bite an exciting combination. - The Ricotta Beignet: was airy and crisp, filled with rich ricotta, and topped with caviar and Texas honey for a sweet-salty contrast that made it a true standout. - The Crispy Rice: pairs golden, crunchy rice with creamy saffron aioli, fresh crab, smoky bacon, and crisp cucumbers, creating a dynamic mix of textures and flavors. It was perfect balance of flavors and crunch. - The Endive & French Potato Salad: reinvents a classic with tangy caper vinaigrette, and silky cured egg yolk that made it light, and flavorful in a way that left you wanting more. - The Crispy Cauliflower: surprised us with a bold hot mustard aioli that paired perfectly with crunchy cauliflower that was the perfect texture. - The Toasted Sourdough Ice Cream: was nutty and slightly tangy, complemented by cocoa nib crumble and honey for a mix of crunch and creaminess. - The Hazelnut Mille Feuille: layers crisp pastry with rich cream, tart cherries, and an intense Hukambi chocolate sorbet that is probably one of the lightest, yet most satisfying chocolate desserts I have ever had. - For a light finish, the chef also gave us a Pear Champagne Sorbet, which was crisp, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweet. Arlo Grey delivers thoughtful, beautifully crafted dishes that balance comfort with creativity. In addition to having incredible food, the service was also excellent. Everyone was kind, generous and genuinely interested in ensuring we had a great experience - perfectly balancing being attentive without being too present throughout the meal. This is a must visit!

Absolutely excellent in every way. The staff is very knowledgeable about the ingredients that go into every dish and the food is amazing. It was my 30th anniversary and the restaurant is definitely "Anniversary" quality. Our server was Navaeh and I was very impressed with Navaeh's kindness and professionalism. I think that this is a reflection of the employees and management at this restaurant. I really enjoyed having the chef come out to actually place their scratch made sauce on the duck we ordered. I recommend trying the 4 course meal that they set up each evening to get a cross section of the abilities of the talented kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to taste truly excellent food.

Taco the server was spectacular in so many ways during our visit. Chef Alejandro visited our table and such a highlight for us. Our dinner from the okra and buartta to pork chop for main course was all amazing. Cocktails were well paired as well and the sourdough ice cream was such a treat to end our meal

I have no idea how people are giving this place anything less than 5 stars. Everything we ordered was absolutely phenomenal and we had such a great time having dinner together as the sun was setting. We were also pleasantly surprised with free champagne and a congratulation card at our table. If you get a chance, check out the bathrooms. They look super cool. The prices are also freakin great for food of this quality. I don't even know how they aren't charging more. Food like this would easily cost an arm and a leg in Los Angeles. Great experience and I'd love to come back again next year since we will be here again for ACL anyway.

Last night, we had the pleasure of dining at Kristen Kish’s latest restaurant, and it was nothing short of spectacular! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and attentiveness. The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, setting the perfect tone for a special evening. The food was simply superb. Each dish was a delightful combination of flavors and textures, beautifully presented. It was clear that Kristen Kish has knocked it out of the park with her restaurant. Her creativity and expertise were evident in every bite, making it a truly memorable culinary experience. Our server, Taco, was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. He even made my husband feel special on his birthday, adding a personal touch that made the night extra special. To top it all off, Executive Chef Alejandro Munez came out to our table to personally greet us and wish my husband a happy birthday. It was a wonderful surprise and a testament to the restaurant’s commitment to making every guest feel valued. Overall, this was an amazing dining experience. From the exquisite food to the exceptional service, everything was perfect. We can’t wait to come back! Highly recommended to anyone looking for a remarkable meal and an unforgettable evening.

The meal was pretty expensive. Two for thanksgiving with one cocktail each was about $235 before tip. The thanksgiving feast was $89 per person, but it came with a lot and I’d say it was worth the price. My favorite by far was the sourdough bread starter, it was phenomenal. Absolutely the best bread appetizer I’ve had at a restaurant. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into preparing this meal for everyone. We came late at night and still felt our service was great. We were pretty thirsty and didn’t get our waters refilled quick enough is my only complaint. But that could just be attributed to a busy thanksgiving. They donated $50 per thanksgiving meal to a food drive so this establishment is definitely one you’ll feel good spending your money at. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a fancy date night or a nice night out on your own.

I recently visited Arlo Grey by Kristen Kish, which is located within Austin's hotel, the LINE, with a group of friends for New Year's Eve. Per their website, "Arlo Grey is the LINE’s lakeside restaurant by Top Chef winner, host and cookbook author Kristen Kish. At Arlo Grey, Kish and Executive Chef Alejandro Munoz dig deep into the bountiful ingredients of Central Texas to create a mix of dishes. The restaurant reflects Kristen’s playful yet refined cuisine, pulling inspiration from her classical training as well as nostalgic dishes that highlights her upbringing and love of travel. Come by for a casual, comfortable experience and a menu designed to nourish the soul." In regard to their staff (to start), I regret to say that I wasn't super impressed. Arlo Grey's wait service was a little slow throughout our meal and the hostesses were not particularly kind. In fact, they seemed a little intense (& maybe a little snooty) when we were greeted. I understand that it was a holiday, and it was a bit busy, but I personally didn't feel particularly welcome on our group's arrival to the restaurant. Regarding their cocktails, their Love Bug is pretty good - it's flavorful and dressed nicely in terms of presentation. In regard to their food, my boyfriend & I split the Texas Farm Salad + the Rigatoni. Everything tasted good! However, was this the most memorable meal I've ever had (specifically in ATX)? No. Generally speaking, our visit wasn't bad by any means. However, I don't think I'll be back. Overall, the cocktails + food felt expensive for what we got. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is cozy & inviting, and it's beautifully decorated, but our table was near the kitchen doors, so this became a distraction during our visit. Unfortunately, all of these factors are what contribute to this 3-star review.

Didn't have any expectations for this restaurant, but I was quite disappointed. The menu selection is pretty small. The restaurant was only 30% full on a Saturday night but it was pretty loud. I couldn't see the colors of my dishes because it was so dark. The food didn't stand out, but it wasn't terrible to eat. The best thing I can say about the dessert, was that it was different. The Flor De Aplos non-alocoholic drink was probably the best thing I had here. It's a berry infused drink with a drop of a vinegar-like substance, giving it a hint of sweetness and a touch of tang. The complexion allows me to pace the drink as I eat my meals. The Roasted Acorn Squash was my starter. The squash was similar to a steamed potato without the heavy starch. Not sure if the squash itself was intentionally bland, but the surrounding elements were pretty neat. The acorns and cilantro gave it a nice texture and contrasting colors. I wish the spicy bits were a bit stronger, but that's admittedly just my preference. The puree is definitely the star of the plate, giving each bite a level of sweetness and savoriness. I had the Half Chicken Milanese for my main. The meat had a nice cook and was splendidly moist. It was a bit too salty for my liking, but it was passable. However the accompanied vegetables felt out of place and random. I appreciate the variety in fiber, but the combination of Okra, Corn, and Cauliflower didn't compliment the protein. I couldn't tell if the Milanese had a special preparation outside of the breading and salt (since the restaurant was too dark); it would have been nice if the chicken had some acidity or was sprinkled with something. The Monkey bread was a pretty big disappointment. I've never had Monkey bread before, so it's possible that I'm just not a fan of the dessert. Either way, it was really lacking in the sweet department. Pairing it with ice cream (like a cream puff) would really elevate this dessert. On top of that, the boba was incredibly stale. Was it intentional? I'm really trying to give the dessert the benefit of the doubt, but I would've tragically been more happier with a regular scoop of sorbet. All in all, the dishes were pretty expensive and left more to be desired. I'm actually interested in trying the pasta dishes, but I did not want my first impressions of this restaurant to be their pasta tapas. However my curiosity is not strong enough for me to want to come back.

This was the worst dining experience I’ve had in Austin in 10 years. Mostly due to the service, but the food wasn’t much better. Three of us went to Arlo Grey expecting to be wined and dined in a beautiful upscale atmosphere on a quieter Sunday. We should have walked out after our first interaction with the server. TLDR: food was one note and subpar if it was edible at all. Our server was atrociously rude, condescending, and attempted to con us into over ordering (to pad the bill) and into ordering on his preferred pace on a slow night. After declining to share a bottle of wine, opting for cocktails and glasses instead, and attempting to order an appetizer, our server Nicholas let us know that the menu was “family style small plates” and everything should be shared. We again attempted to order a first course explaining to him that we’d figure it out as we went. He told us we should order 5-8 plates and that everything needed to be ordered at once because of the “huge” table they had. At this moment, there was ONE other occupied table in the entirety of this restaurant. It had about 16 guests- a large group for any kitchen sure, but not as alarming when the *only* other table is a group of three hoping to order slowly. All three of us have spent other lives in restaurant service btw, both front and back of house in all kinds of restaurants and dining clubs around the country. We knew immediately he just wanted to fluff the bill and make as little work for himself as possible on a slow night. Nicholas, in addition to this weird con, was incredibly condescending. He went out of his way to ask if we were absolutely SURE we understood all the terms on the menu; he asked us this three times! When we ordered (five items, all at once, as requested), first he was sure to correct my pronunciation (incorrectly, I might add), before stating “well it’s not the order I’d have picked, but okay” and then “are we on all carb diet or something, ladies?” (presumably annoyed we didn’t order a steak). We were absolutely fuming at this point and squabbling about whether or not to alert the host and leave; we didn’t, unfortunately. When he brought the first available dish out, I’d had my cutlery and napkin arranged on either side of my plate, ready to use- he stopped before setting the food down and took the the time to deliberately pile all my cutlery and napkin onto my plate??? The plate I’m about to use?? OCD or truly weird power move, I don’t know. It was baffling. Staring at him while I immediately put everything back where I’d had it, this was a weird and uncomfortable moment for everyone. The first course to come out was probably the only truly edible thing we had that night (the fried steamed buns). Everything was very one note and not even half as decent as what we’d have otherwise created at home. The “lasagna” was so salty it almost read as spicy for a moment. No one touched that after an exploratory taste, and it was thankfully removed from the bill once dear Nicholas finally read the room. I am posting photos of how empty this restaurant was and how much food we had left over. We only took one item home, out of some misguided and last ditch effort to minimize the otherwise avoidable waste of food. The fusilli still wound up in the trash. It is not unusual for me to think that the Austin upscale restaurant scene is overrated compared to other cities. But this? This experience at Arlo Grey was appalling. I truly cannot fathom the positive ratings. Nicholas, you and your jk Rowling and Beavis and Butthead tattoos might be better suited for mixology at a pretentious speakeasy or a Dicks Last Resort- somewhere where people actually expect to spend money in public for people to speak down to them.

Worst Meal of Our Lives. No Exaggeration. This was hands down the worst meal either of us has ever had. Period. From the moment we sat down, something was off. Our waiter rolled up with, “Hopefully no one else comes in so I can clock out early.” Bro, what? That was the first red flag. If your own staff is praying for an empty restaurant, that should tell you everything. But we stayed. Big mistake. We’re staying at The LINE and had a $100 dining credit, so we figured we’d give Arlo Grey a try. I wish I had just lit that $100 on fire instead. Would’ve been a better experience. We ordered a salad, duck pasta, and the chicken. The salad came out looking like wet dog food tossed in sauce. It had a ton of flavor—just all of it bad. Sloppy, confusing, and disgusting. The duck pasta was next-level trash. They put lettuce in it. Why is there lettuce in hot pasta? The cheese on top couldn’t even save it—it was salty, weird, and tasted like a Walmart frozen dinner that someone tried to dress up but made worse. Then the chicken showed up. Visually? Fine. Taste? Garbage. Dry. Bland. And the side? Some pickled okra mess that made us sad. Legitimately sad. We actually felt bad for the chicken that died just to be butchered by whatever “chef” thought this dish made sense. It was disrespectful to the bird. The only edible thing was the Diet Coke—and they charged us $5 for each tiny glass. Are you kidding me? $10 for a couple sips of soda to wash down a disaster of a meal? The lemonade? Alexa took one sip and wanted to cry. This place is a masterclass in overhyped failure. They’re trying so hard to be “creative” they forgot how to make food that actually tastes good. It’s like a bunch of people in the back are just winging it and laughing while they serve overpriced garbage. Chef may have clout, but she clearly stopped tasting the food a long time ago. This meal was so bad we talked about it the rest of the night—out of pure shock. I love this hotel, but I won’t be staying here again just because of how offensively bad the restaurant is. It was that bad. Absolutely unforgettable—for all the wrong reasons.
