Excellent food. Fresh and so flavorful! Wonderful, friendly service too. Vegan friendly! I'll be back! UPDATE: Google says "temporarily closed". What's going on?? When are they re-opening? They're the best in Austin!
We've been to other Ethiopian restaurants around Austin and the food here is incredible and the service is quick and friendly. Cannot recommend highly enough!
This is a great option for outdoor dining, lots of open picnic tables in the sunshine, everyone wears masks and the food is so delicious! I had the lamb dish with gluten free injera, all the food was fresh and flavorful. You can choose to get in to go container, or if eating there be served on actual plates to cut down on waste. Staff was friendly and great service! The menu is large, many options to work through on future visits.
This place is legit! The food is super delicious, and they have options for vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Every time I’m in East Austin I make sure to stop by.
This place is sooo delicious! They brought the food out to us on a beautiful plate. Everything was super fresh And flavorful. Service was very fast.
Best Ethiopian food I have had in Austin! Portions are generous and the service was great! Will definitely be back!
I got the vegetarian combo plate to-go. SO much delicious food and gluten-free injera! 😋
Delicious food! Come out and support a true family business
Wow, I have to give them a shout out. This was as delicious and nourishing as it looks. And one block from the eastern side of the Town Lake Trail.

It’s awesome food… We had a great dinner Appreciate it
I am curious if anyone knows if this food truck relocated or if they are closed permanently? I really enjoyed their food and the location was pretty convenient on Cesar Chavez. I would love to support them some more if they are open somewhere.
The food truck is owned and run by an Eritrean couple, who immigrated to the US. Her cooking was great, the dish I got had a delicious combination of spicy peppers and garlic. If you want authentic food cooked by the owners, this is your spot.
This place has truly authentic food and the locations is so legit for the price. The parking lot is such a a vibe. You're getting an amazing meal and you've gotta work to get to it. So out of the way, but worth it.
Delicious. I ordered Shiro & Shekla. Total was about $13 and easily would have fed two people. I've only eaten Ethiopian food here in the US so I am not an expert on flavors/authenticity. That being said this was as good as anything I've had. Great find!
Excellent Ethiopian food in a city where it can be hard to find. Very authentic and tasty. The food truck is right next to the Music of the Spheres showroom, so you can enjoy a fun and free interactive musical experience while waiting for your food next door.
I almost never leave reviews, but this food was so good I just had to leave one. My boyfriend and I both got vegetarian dishes, as well as beef sombusas, all of which was incredibly delicious. The food is extremely aromatic and savory. Truly a hidden gem in Austin. I hope to come back the next time I visit the city.
I've eaten at at least a half dozen Ethiopian restaurants, and the food at this trailer is definitely the best. We got the awaze and shekla - a dry beef dish that doesn't have a sauce. Both were good but the shekla was superb and the reason we sought out this vendor when we were in Austin recently even though they had changed locations since the last time we were there and it was over 100F - not exactly great weather for eating outside. The shekla had a perfect charred texture and stir fried flavor and is served with onions and fresh jalapeños. We also got the veggie offering which includes two kinds of lentils, greens, cabbage, and green beans all seasoned perfectly. We even ate the injera under each that was infused with the flavor. Can't wait to go back!

The food was great (I had the vegetarian meal sampler) and the portion was nice and big. This is an unusual (I think? I'm not from Austin, just passing through, maybe you all have tons of Ethiopian places) and fun way to eat, they gave me a bunch of soft fluffy bread (think sort of along the lines of sheets of pancake for texture) to place the assorted vegetables in to eat. Nifty, and filling. I could not finish it because I was running late for my flight to begin with, and I hated having to throw some of it away. The people running the truck were friendly and happy to help explain the menu. Looked like he was having a good time doing it, which is nice, he clearly loves his work. Only negative is the parking situation. It's in a food truck park, and there were like or so parking spots, and the parking lot was a bit torn up. Pavement was rough. This is not something they have any control over. Price was good too, btw, especially considering how much food I got. Wish I could go back

I have eaten Ethiopian at two other places in town and Habesha grill is so, so good. I saw that this place had really good reviews so I stopped in and was excited to try this place. I’m very bummed to share it was in fact not good at all. I ordered the veggie combo with injera. Much of it was very bland and tasted out of a box. I wanted it to be good! But it was not. Would not recommend at all. Especially if you’ve eaten Habesha, you’re going to be let down coming here!!
