Opinions de Juan in a Million Austin
The food was most excellent. The place is packed, so expect to wait a bit at prime times, but, stay, it's most assuredly worth the time. Be prepared for a high energy greeting when you arrive and well wishing when it's time to leave. Juan will make you feel like you've known him your whole life, and like you are the only person in the restaurant, and therefore, of the utmost importance. If you want a dining experience that makes you feel like a star, then go see Juan, he'll make you feel like a million!
They are open for dine in! Go support your local restaurants guys! We came here on a Saturday morning, 20 mins wait. Worth the wait! good service, good food. Don Juan El Taco Grande is pretty big for one. And we ordered 2 of these and 3 more regular tacos... I wish the waitress could tell us how big is it so I did not have to bring the left over home. We will come back to try more things on the menu.
Tried to go for the record but only managed to eat 2 tacos. We went on a Sunday morning and the place was packed as expected but the owner greeted us personally which shows the pride he places on the place. The service was a bit slow but the food was great. The atmosphere was lively with a guitarists serenading for tips. Best way to get rid off a 6th street hangover. Highly recommend
Inexpensive place to grab brunch and I must say it was quite delicious. The only thing I wish was that they give you a little bit more meat but the eggs were cooked perfectly. The tortillas are fresh and seem homemade while the service is quick and efficient. come try out this location institution for yourselves!
I absolutely love this little restaurant. I make it a point every time I visit Austin to visit Juan in a Million. I wish there was one closer to Houston, I’d be there daily. The people are nice, the food is lovely and flavorful. Even with social distancing and Covid protocols, it was a super nice experience.
Saw this place on Man vs Food so thought we’d check it out since we were in Austin. 100% fantastic food and service. Family owned and ran restaurant that seemed clean and the staff were very friendly. We liked it so much that we went there two days in a row. Worth checking out if you like delicious, authentic Tex-Mex food.
An Austin staple! Very welcoming staff, and they work as a team. You can give any server your request and it will be fulfilled. The prices are incredible for the quality and the amount you receive. It’s a decent sized restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Wait times can be high through certain parts of the day, but that’s expected for such a popular restaurant in peak hours. I wish they had some music playing softly in the background just to add to the experience, but they’ve hit all of the other points just fine. My ONLY complaint is that they do not make their tortillas fresh everyday. The tortillas they currently use are great, but I would pay a little more to have house made tortillas. Just adds so much to a traditional Mexican meal. Great spot for hangover food as well. Some of the best menudo I’ve ever had.
I had the most amazing experience at Juan in a million❤️ the service was on point my waitresses never let us go without a refill or actually anything I needed! The food was great, portions were generous and tortillas were fresh! Parking is free before 3pm. Definitely a place to take your loved ones out for a great breakfast!
I love this place. It has sentimental value for me as I’ve made many memories here with family and friends when they come to visit Austin. It was one of the first places my wife brought me when I first came to Texas. I always get the same thing, the Don Juan with two extra tortillas and coffee. (I do think I’ve ever tried anything else. 😆) The staff is always friendly and attentive. If Juan is there you can always count on a slapping handshake and a “thank you for coming.” This is one of those places where you come back not just for the food, which is great, but how it makes you feel. Did I already say, “I love this place?”
Excellent Mexican breakfast. Everything here tasted exactly as it should and reminded me of eating breakfast with my Mexican grandmother and family. Out of all the things I tried, my favorite was the huevos rancheros. Either way it doesn't seem like there is a bad pick on the menu; the chips are crispy, the tacos are big, and even the menudo came out just right. I highly recommend this place.
Juan you definitely are one in a million along with staff. I felt like I was invited to your home and you brought out your best service, food and drinks. This was my first visit to Austin and this be a memorable experience. The food taste, quality and portions does not disappoint. I will definitely come back.
Was on my list of places to check out in Austin and it should definitely be on yours as well! Depending on the time you go, it can get a bit busy but we were seated right away on a Friday morning. Heads up, the portion sizes are huge and can feed all most 2 people. Delicious Tex Mex for a very fair price!
Juan in a Million has it right with the name as a play on "one in a million." Truly, this is a special place. Be careful with this establishment because the rare combination of deliciousness, affordability, and good service will have you addicted after the first crunch of a tortilla chip. Juan in a Million boasts a humble, homey interior which represents the treatment and feelings you will get from eating there: loving, Mexican home cooked goodness. I will go to no other place for tacos after discovering Juan in a Million. The tortilla chips are tasty, warm, and perfectly crunchy. Pair them with the always perfectly done guacamole, or with the standard hot sauce if you're not looking to splurge on some fancy guac. Order a taco and feel a sense of happiness when the generous portion sizes match the generous taste. The simple shredded chicken taco boasts the most flavorful and voluptuous chicken portion. I personally also love the Machacado. My husband always goes for the legendary Don Juan, which is a divine combination of bacon, potato, egg, and cheese on a taco. This place is friendly to vegans as well. Just not friendly to dogs. Bring your vegan friends but don't bring your friends who take their dogs everywhere. Although they have an indoor patio, no dogs are allowed. There is nothing that I'd change about Juan in a Million. Thus, I give 5 stars for this perfect establishment.
Late post Oct 23’ My cousin raved about this spot and honestly, it did not disappoint. Got the Tuesday special -Flautas - Two rolled crispy tortillas filled with beef or chicken and topped with our delicious guacamole and sour cream, served with rice, beans, salad, tortillas and tea $12 bucks out the door, can’t be beat. Tried a bit of the machaca from my cousin and that too was bussin! I usually don’t want to over eat so I plan to always take half to go but not this time everything was sooooo good, I ate everything on the plate even after having the chips and salsa. Our server was quick and efficient, the inside probably hasn’t change except an extension, which I heard happened during covid so they can keep operations goin. Juan in a million did me wrong wahh wahh because now that I am back in Los Angeles, Ca. I keep trying to find a similar spot and has yet to happen.
We first visited here in 2018 on our first trip to ATX and it was as fabulous as it was then as now! It’s very popular so you might have to wait but they’re so efficient and fast, you never wait very long. We ordered the the queso and chips, migas breakfast taco, the beef fajita tacos, and the Don Juan. Everything was hot, delicious, and a generous portion. Big drinks and fast service. If you’re lucky Juan will be there to great you at the door.
My second visit here. First time was for the Don Juan. It’s amazing. Local tip: always order the Don Juan wrapped to go. Even if dining in. Otherwise the shredded cheese will not be melted. Today was straight up breakfast tacos. They’re large, overstuffed and delicious!
I'm from out of town and was looking for authentic mexican food and im so happy i found it! I took a bite of the beans a potatos and was filled with joy because it tasted just like my great grandmas. It might be pricy for some but the plates aren't weak or small, theyre large and packed with amazing flavor.
It's been about 20 years that we saw Juan in a million on man vs food. I went to check it out then and this is my first return to get the famous"Don Juan taco". Awesome still and a great value for the cost. excellent!!
Wow, if you’re in Texas and you’re looking for some delicious breakfast tacos; this is your place! My friend picked up some potato egg, bacon egg and guacamole tacos and they were so good! I also tried a bite of her chorizo taco and the flavor was delicious. They come with flour tortillas and also the prices are really really reasonable. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Austin, and you should definitely try! Deliciousn
Great Salsa! Long running East side Tex-Mex establishment. I always enjoy eating here if I’m in the area. They have a nice patio area with seating. They serve up some authentic food at affordable prices. It’s a great place for breakfast tacos or a quick lunch. The waitstaff is always friendly and service is usually quick. They can get crowded at peak hours due to their popularity. This recent visit I ordered the Chalupa’s with Guacamole. They did not disappoint.
Service here is quick and your plates are loaded! You can’t beat the prices. I got the Migas which was eggs scrambled with tortillas, onions, and tomatoes. The potatoes weren’t crunchy or all that flavourful but it paired nicely with the beans. Hot sauce that comes at the table is incredibly and helped take this breakfast to the next level.
This was my brother's favorite restaurant. He passed away several years ago, so we go back periodically, thinking of him. This week, we got the Don Juan taco, and it was good as always. It's also delightfully cheap! It's nice to enjoy a good breakfast and not break the bank. Their salsa is good, too, though it's quite hot! Be prepared because you may not notice the heat at first, but it sneaks up on ya. The place is always VERY busy, which is a testament to their popularity. Be prepared to wait for awhile. The service is also very good. They make sure to keep cups filled and dote on all the customers. It's a good place for a yummy brunch.
Juan in a Million is 🤌🏽 The atmosphere is super old school - you just know this place has been around for a bit. It makes it so so nice. The food is out of this world good as well. I was nervous to come because all Tex-mex tastes similar to me, but Juan in a Million shines bright. I had the Con Queso Breakfast and it was absolutely delicious. The Carne Guisada was some of the best I’ve ever had - a must! I got the queso on the side and this was easy to accommodate. The Don Juan Taco Grande is the largest taco I have ever seen - you really only need the one! The prices are so good here and the service is amazing. We were also so lucky to have met the incredible Juan himself. The nicest guy ever it was a real treat. Very much will be back!
The food was amazing. You're served with chips and salsa when you get seated. The food wait time was great for it to be so packed. I had the Beef Fajita with double rice and queso, and my bro had the Chicken Fajita salad. There's not a lot of parking, and the inside is very compacted. If you're a person that's uncomfortable being shoulder to shoulder, with in arms reach to someone you're not eating with, then you might wanna order yours to go. It's definitely time for them to get a bigger space and another location. However, you won't be disappointed with the food which I was there for. Authentic Mexican food frfr. I'll definitely be back. It's so much on the menu I wanna try and you will too. Check out, Juan in a Million, if you're pass through.
Walked in because we were in the area and haven't ate here in years. I got migas and they were delicious 😋 hubby got two tacos and he said they were delicious as well. Also we had queso and it was yummy. Service was amazing very attentive to every table.
One of the best places for Mexican breakfast in Austin! The chorizo plate is incredible and they give you so much food it is well worth the price! The food comes out super quick and the staff is really friendly and helpful! The pastries are also really delicious! Cannot go wrong here, a must stop if traveling through Austin!
Came by to Juan in a Million to try their famous tacos for breakfast. After a short 15 minute wait we were seated to enjoy some amazing chips and salsa. We ordered the queso dip to go with the chips and it was oozing with delicious flavors. When our taco arrived, I was blown away by how large it was. One taco was basically a meal! It was packed with meat, eggs, and potatoes, so come here hungry! The service was also very friendly and helpful.
This place NEVER disappoints! My husband and I have been countless times but last weekend was our kids official taste of the best breakfast tacos and horchata in town. We stuck classic with the Don Juan (x3) and demolished them all. My daughter kept telling us they were the best tacos ever and no she keeps asking to go back every day. The service is ALWAYS the best with the same staff we have had for years. Thank you for being an Austin icon! I know we will be back so many times.
Second time at the place. It’s been years. I ordered, Don Juan Taco Grande, make sure you get extra tortillas. My wife ordered Migas Taco with cheese and a Beef Fajita Taco. My friends ordered the enchilada plate and a carne asada taco. All these items were too notch! Still is the best in Austin hands down! Authentic taste & excellent value for your money! A perfect spot for breakfast tacos in east Austin and more. Nice outdoor patio and comfy indoors. I definitely recommend this restaurant! I need to come more often!
There's a hidden gem in Austin that serves the best tacos I've ever tasted. It’s no wonder the last time I saw it there was a line forming out the door. The staff was kind of rude but the tacos made the experience all worth it. These tacos are an explosion of flavor, packed with so much spices and oil that you feel like you're being sent to heaven in more ways than one. But despite the richness, they're so delicious that you can't help but keep going back for another bite. The tacos are HUGE! And incredibly filling—so much so that even though it cost me $11 for one, I could probably make three breakfast meals out of it- if I haven’t already shoved it down in one go and put myself in a blissful food coma. People aren’t lying when they say this is really a one-in-a-million taco that you just have to try if you're in Austin. This spot is a must-visit for any taco lover, and trust me, it’s worth every penny.
The manager here is super, super caring and nice, and the wait staff are very efficient, fast and good. I was with a group of 12 at lunchtime, and although they don't take reservations, they were able to seat us. The waitress brought our drinks, in huge glasses, as soon as we sat down and did not make any errors in anyone's order! The atmosphere is old-Austin cluttered, interesting and cozy. My beef enchiladas were very good, and everyone liked their food. Free parking is available behind the place and on the side street.
After seeing this restaurant featured on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives", my husband insisted that we check it out when we visited Austin. So glad we did! Lunch was such a fun experience...like stepping back in time. Great food with an authentic TexMex flair, delightful staff, fast service. Be sure to try it! We'll be back!
First time here while in Austin. I would like to rate the food as an A+. I don't really need to explain much but the Don Juan Taco is gigantic and delicious. I also tried an enchilada and taco and I was not disappointed. There really is isn't anything bad to say about this place. The food is amazing. The wait time was not too long either about 10 min. Great job Juan in a Million.
Finally made it here! Service was amazing. Food came out in record speed ! Nothing super unique but everything made very well and tasty ! Had the machado con huevos and will be back again soon for this breakfast ! Waitress was super kind to our toddler and brought our scrambled egg literally like 60 seconds after we ordered it.
Pretty old breakfast place in Austin downtown. We went on Sunday morning and it was waiting . Wait time they quoted was 10 min but it ended up 30 min. That’s the only thing we found it as drawback . Otherwise the food was good . Decent portion to keep you going for long. They gave us good time to choose from . The breakfast is more on Mexican cuisine side. Chips and dips are good.
Great older Austin type of place started in 1980. They several kinds of great breakfasty and lunch items. She had the migas with potatoes, and we had some of the freshest hottest chips we've had with a hot sauce. Its a little on the hotter side for us, but it was perfect. Then I had the famous Don Juan, as has been featured on many different TV shows, magazines etc, the Don Juan taco comes with one tortilla because it's A taco. Lol. You can get extra tortillas for 50 cents a piece. I could have eaten it all, but I did not. I brought it home but for $8. What a fantastic deal. And the atmosphere is fantastic, especially if you're a University of Texas fan, lots of good memorabilia around. Everybody's super nice and friendly and the food's so good. I snuck in a picture of the owner eating his own food. If for those of you that know, he has a good firm, solid handshake, much like his papa. Finally, note they have A deal where you can try to get on their wall of fame. The record of eating the Don Juan Taco is 13. The big news is thats for the men, the women's record is fourteen 14.... amazing...
Authentic taste & excellent value for money! A perfect spot for breakfast tacos in east Austin. There is a wait during peak times but that’s understandable. Nice outdoor patio and comfy indoors. Today was all about trying out the tacos…will be back for the other delicious entrees on the menu. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant!!
Stopped in for a quick bite to eat on my way to the office. I left stuffed after trying to finish all of the Don Juan Grande Breakfast Taco. Some days you finish the taco some days the taco finishes you. Perfect blend of egg bacon and cheese. Coffee is pretty good and the service is friendly and quick. The house hotsauce is amazing.
I was greeted warmly when I arrived. This made me feel welcome. It was very busy but a table was found. Chips and salsa were brought right away. My server was friendly and looked after me. I had melt in my mouth chicken enchiladas. Home made goodness. The price was right and so were the portions. Nothing pretentious, just good people serving good food. I cannot wait to bring out of town guests here. The way Austin used to be.
Juan In A Million made my day yesterday! Best Mexican food on the east side in Austin! I had the beef enchilada plate. It was SO good! The enchiladas had corn tortillas and the beef was really good. It came with a side of beans and rice. The rice was the best Mexican rice I’ve ever had. The beans were hot and fresh and were so good! I also had the horchata and a piece of tres leches cake. The horchata was incredible and the cake was amazing! Thank you Juan In A Million for making my day yesterday!
Get the Don Juan taco and a few extra tortillas. Make sure to put some salsa on the tacos, you won't regret it. Great service and food just east of downtown on Cesar Chavez.
I came here just after 11AM on a Saturday morning. There can be a wait at times, but they were able to get me a table in just a few minutes. I ordered a Don Juan taco - it’s a huge amount of food! Definitely more than a typical breakfast taco and could easily be shared. The taco is delicious and adding the salsa from the table is the perfect move. Super affordable, tasty, and filling breakfast with efficient and friendly service.
Now this was the absolute GEM of our entire trip to Austin. After a romantic river walk with the boss, I was ready to eat—like buffet-level ready to eat. I walk in feeling confident and order TWO breakfast burritos. For context, they were $9 each, so I assumed they’d be on the smaller side. The waitress looks at me and asks if I’m planning to eat two pounds of food in one sitting. Completely caught off guard, I’m a little flabbergasted and quickly say, “You know what… one should do.” When the burrito arrives, I immediately understand why she put me in my place. This thing was an absolute unit. I proceeded to fight for my life trying to finish it. And I loved every bite. Of course, just when I finally finished, the waitress twisted the knife a little by asking if I’d like another one. I sheepishly said no, gasping to catch my breath after the behemoth I just consumed. In conclusion: this was the best value I’ve ever had at a restaurant, and the food blew way past expectations. Truly an elite dining experience.
Our family had a short weekend trip to Austin and breakfast tacos was high on our priority list. I am so glad that they open early at 7 am. We tried the Don Juan el taco grande, chorizo and egg breakfast taco, and migas, egg, and cheese breakfast taco. The portions are generous and it was more than enough for the four of us. My husband and I really enjoyed the migas breakfast taco whereas my girls loved the Don Juan el taco grande. There was something for everybody!
This is a must try when in Austin. The breakfast was delicious with homemade chips and salsa to start. Very authentic and fresh. No bagged or canned ingredients here. The Don Juan El Grand taco was amazing. They even had a little bit of the shredded beef spill over into the other meats and egg. We also tried the chorizo and egg taco which was so good. Their tortillas are fresh made and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the quality of the food they serve. I wanted to try more menu items, but was plenty happy and full from our selections. The owner and staff were gracious for our patronage as well. Genuinely good people. Highly recommend. Remember, for your taco emergency, dial 9-Juan-Juan!
We love this place!! Maria Sol is the best!! She is very attentive and always gives the best service!! She waits to leave the table until we have what we need and doesn’t just drop things off and leave. Whenever we have her we have the best experience. Attention to detail is important when you’re dining out in Austin even at their best dive spots. Love love love her and their chips and salsa are some of the best!! Whenever you’re leaving you usually get a big high five by the owner if he’s there. Come get your fix on at Juan’s💜💃🏽
This place has been around for 45 years serving excellent Tex-Mex food on the Austin east side. This iconic restaurant has been one of my favorite spot for years. They are constantly serving great food and great service. The place is unique and a must experience your into Tex-Mex food. Love that this place has not changed and is still true to loyal customers. Easy 5 stars and highly recommended. 👍
Juan in a Million – My Go-To Spot in East Austin (Visited Oct 25, 2025) Man, I gotta say, after living in Austin for over a decade, I’ve hit up my fair share of taquerias and Tex-Mex joints, but Juan in a Million on Cesar Chavez is hands-down my absolute favorite. I’m there at least once a month—sometimes for a quick breakfast run before work, other times for a lazy Saturday brunch with the family. Dropped in last Saturday, October 25th, around 10:30 AM, and it was just as magical as always. Place was buzzing but not chaotic, and we snagged a table on the patio without much wait. If you’re new to town or just haven’t made it here yet, do yourself a solid and go. This isn’t some flashy chain; it’s the real deal, run by folks who pour their heart into every plate. We started with the basics because, let’s be honest, you can’t skip the breakfast tacos when you’re at Juan’s. I grabbed two chorizo and egg ones for myself—those homemade corn tortillas are soft and slightly chewy, like they were pressed fresh that morning (which they probably were). The eggs are scrambled just right, fluffy but not overcooked, and the chorizo? Oh man, it’s got that perfect smoky spice without setting your mouth on fire. My wife went for the veggie option with potatoes and cheese, and even she was raving about how the flavors pop with a little of their house salsa verde on top—tangy, herby, and with a kick that builds slow. We shared a side of the elote too, because why not? Grilled corn kernels tossed in cotija, mayo, lime, and chili powder—messy perfection in a cup. Total for apps and tacos: about $15, and it fed three of us easy. For mains, I finally caved and ordered the legendary Don Juan taco, which I’ve heard about forever but somehow always pass up for the classics. Holy cow, what have I been missing? This thing is a monster—think a giant flour tortilla stuffed to the gills with refried beans (creamy, not mushy), scrambled eggs, crispy bacon bits, hash browns, melted cheese, and a big ol’ scoop of guac. It’s basically breakfast burrito royalty, and at under $6, it’s criminal how good the value is. Took me three bites to polish it off, and I wasn’t even stuffed yet. The hubs got the huevos rancheros, which arrived looking like a work of art: two sunny-side-up eggs on crispy tostadas, smothered in that rich ranchero sauce (roasted tomatoes, onions, jalapeños—mild enough for the kids but flavorful), topped with avocado and a sprinkle of queso fresco. He paired it with a side of charro beans that were smoky and hearty, not your standard soupy mess. My little one demolished a kid-sized plate of cheese quesadilla and rice, and they even cut it into fun shapes without us asking. Portions here are generous across the board—no skimping to boost your bill. We washed it all down with their fresh-squeezed orange juice (pulpy and sweet, none of that from-concentrate nonsense) and a couple of those massive house margaritas on the rocks for the adults—extra lime, because Austin heat demands it, even in late October. The drinks are strong but balanced, not too sweet, and priced right at $8 a pop. Service was on point as usual; our server, Rosa, is a total pro—chatty in that friendly Austin way, refilling waters without hovering, and she hooked us up with extra tortillas when we ran low (because, duh, we were double-wrapping everything). The whole meal wrapped up in about 45 minutes, bill came to $42 for the three of us including tip, and we left with smiles and full bellies. In a city where brunch can run you $20 a head for avocado toast, this is refreshingly affordable and way more satisfying.
Excellent service! As soon as we sat down, we had water and chips & salsa. Prices are affordable and reasonably priced for the amount of food you get. The food came out lightning fast! It took less than 10 minutes after we ordered. It’s perfect for a quick meal or for a family gathering. Parking is limited but this Austin gem is so worth it!
Juan in a Million is a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Mexican flavors, exceptional service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Get ready to fall in love with their Don Juan El Taco Grande and Con Queso Breakfast Plate. We certainly did. Sharing each plate was compulsory. My only regret is that I cannot eat here regularly. As a visitor to Austin, I feel very fortunate to have chosen this as our last breakfast before heading to the airport. We still felt satisfied after our two hour flight home.
Juan in a million is my favorite breakfast in Austin. The Don Juan is the staple and is a mound of breakfast taco filling. They have the Mexican sodas and frescas. I’d recommend getting two extra tortillas with the Don Juan. Be aware, this place can be popping busy. It ranges from no one there to a 30 person line.
Classic little joint famous for breakfast tacos. Welcoming staff. Menu covers everything you would expect for breakfast and lunch. I had the Huevos a la Mexicana, which was basic, straight ahead, but satisfying. The Lemonades were massive! We got there just after eight and the crowds started streaming in. Place is bigger than it may look from the outside. I think it is a must-visit in Austin.
Absolutely phenomenal breakfast tacos. Went on Saturday and it was very busy. Usually there is a wait but we got lucky and got a nice booth. Don juan taco is massive and honestly the best out of the five I got. Definitely would recommend if there is no wait. If there is a long line like it was we left, might go somewhere else. They also have bottled beer which is nice.

Went around 1 on Sunday. No wait. Seating is a little crammed in the front of the restaurant. Had the barbacoa taco and El Taco Grande. The barbacoa was a little miss with the flavor and definitely needed salt. I was half way through it when I remembered they didn't give me lime. I don't think they usually serve it with lime. The Taco Grande was huge, but really tasted like a lot of potatoe and little of everything else. They serve the Taco Grande with two extra tortillas. The sweet tea was on spot. I plan to go back and try the menudo or enchiladas to see if they are more flavorful.
Juan in a Million offers a solid breakfast spot with generous portions. I tried the Don Juan’s El Taco Grande — tasty and filling. Be prepared for a lot of food with this one, and you’ll definitely need extra tortillas to handle it all. The Machacado con Huevo with tomatoes, onions, and jalapeño was delicious and full of flavor. It’s a good place to grab breakfast/brunch in the Austin area, especially if you’re hungry.
This is probably most popular Mexican restaurant in Austin. There usually a waiting line especially on the weekend. Burrito are huge and good value. Breakfast is pretty good, it is hearty, fresh tortilla goes well with the meal. It would be better if they have chilaquiles. For a popular Mexican restaurant, it is strange that they don't offer it.

breakfast was very satisfying with good sized portions. The tortillas were particularly good. Staff was friendly and lots of seating. Would recommend for a traditional Mexican breakfast

Good brunch reasonably priced. Had the breakfast tacos, generous portions but a little bland. $2.50 mimosas on the weekend!

I believe this restaurant is a bit overhyped. There is usually a long waiting time for breakfast/brunch. The place feels crowded and can get pretty loud. No real vegetarian or vegan options other than bean or potato breakfast tacos. The food was just okay. I know there are so many other places in Austin where you can get a similar or better meal without the wait. They have parking but it's small so you'll most likely have to Street park some blocks out. You pay at the front and that space is tiny. They only give you one check per table, so it becomes kind of hassle if you want to have separate checks.
The food was pretty good! Salsa was a bit spicy, though. I forgot the name of this breakfast item, but it was pretty good. It had beans, two eggs, and papas with corn tortillas. I wish they added a few strips to the plate. This was the first restaurant that I've gone to that didn't serve bacon with this type of basic combination plate. The lemonade was perfectly balanced with sugar.
Eating here reminded me of what my manager said to me during my year end review last week. “You were adequate.” The food was fine, the atmosphere was chill, and I enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa (I love extra crispy chips). The beef taco was better than the chicken taco, huevos à la Mexicana was goodish, and the service and staff were all very kind (order accuracy could have been better). Overall, out of all of the restaurants in Austin, this is just juan of them.
Staff members were pleasant the moment we walked in. It's self seating. Front section was full. So we sat next section over. The restooms were giving off a sewage smell. But we didnt want to eat outside-cold that day. Free chips and salsa-it had a nice kick to it. We ordered the famous Don Juan taco (not a lot of flavor) and two others from the menu. WHY 3 ⭐️ ? Well, my tacos were $4.70 a piece. But she rounded it off to $10 on the ticket. She also charged $8.20 for the small queso, even though it's priced at $7.50 on the menu. Not sure if this is the normal thing here, but this is stealing to me. And Sour cream is $2.30, that's a lot for less than 4oz. But that's the price. FYI. I was not feeling too well to have a Ticket battle, normally i would address such things, especially over charging. But a review is the best I can do. Overall, it wasn't too bad of an experience. My tacos tasted way better than my husband's Don Juan. And the change of pricing on my ticket. That's why I gave it THREE STARS.
Went in for breakfast this weekend after scouring Tik tok for recommendations. The restaurant was busy, but they are really good at getting tables ready and seating people fast. Our waitress was nice. The food was okay. It didn’t taste bad, but I was expecting to enjoy it a lot more after the reviews I saw. I had the chorizo and egg plate which came with chorizo and egg, beans, and potatoes with 2 tortillas on the side. Definitely doesn’t compare to homemade tortillas my tias make. Not a bad spot, but I don’t see myself going back for breakfast.
Nothing spectacular: good mexican food; friendly quick setvice Guacamole needs FLAVOR: add cilantro or onion or ??? Or picante
Rating: 2 out of 5 stars Tagline: 10/10 Tacos, 0/10 for Rico the Roach’s Dinner Shift This used to be my go-to spot the food slapped, the vibes were chill, and everything felt like a win. But today? Today I met Rico the Roach, assistant general manager and part-time maître d’. Mid-bite, I saw Rico pop out the kitchen like, “Y’all good on drinks?” He wasn’t running. He wasn’t hiding. He strutted across the dining area like he was late for a staff meeting. One antenna up, one down like he had Bluetooth in. I wasn’t hallucinating either. Another customer saw him too and looked just as shook as me. We met up in the bathroom like it was a safe house. He said he comes often and has never seen that before. I believed him. But Rico? Rico looked like he’s been there since the soft opening. That roach knew the floor plan better than the employees. The food still goes hard can’t lie. But I like my tacos with salsa, not a side of insect management. Until Rico and his coworkers get evicted, I’m tapping out. Do better. Because I can’t be fighting for table space with an OG six legged staff member wearing non-slip shoes and a headset.

Service was invisible, we were checked on once and that was for the check too. The food was very bland and the meat was undercooked. There are no vegetarian options except for a cheese quesadilla, and it really isn’t worth the price either. The atmosphere was nice, but it was extremely busy.
Service sucked. Food was okay was tolerable but the service just terrible. Had to ask for chips, had to ask for straw, drinks was not refilled guess what had to ask for that too. My neighbors got what they needed when they were low on chips, drinks etc. I had to ask for chips refilled, salsa and the check. Kind of embarrassing cause I’m bragging about my wife about this place. It was a little busy but not enough for service to suck. They had a lot of servers. I am also in service industry and I am patient but it was just not good. Will not be back and will not recommend. I will get better service at my local taqueria. Train your service to pay attention to customers who are waiting. Just not managed well.
Being followed out of the restaurant and accused of not paying your tab is a terrible way to end Saturday brunch. Especially when you had just finished paying and were getting your kids settled into the car. The staff is either poorly trained or the point-of-sales system is terrible. The cashier left some items off a split tab, which resulted in a portion being due. They couldn’t even pinpoint what was left off the charges and asked for the second tab to be paid again. Asking a customer to place a duplicate charge on their bank account for a staff member’s error is poor customer service, even if it would be refunded a few days later.
