Delicious farm to table food, always fresh and always great portions. The service has always been top tier. I used to work here 10 years ago and know the standard they hold their servers too. You won’t be disappointed! They are also running a promo for buy one get one on their sandwiches and burgers right now! They offer a free pimento cheese sample at the start of your visit too. It’s about the little things!

Had dinner at Jack Allen’s Kitchen and it was a treat — the Green Chili Pork Tacos were perfectly spiced, and the Grilled Ruby Trout with walnut-pesto really stood out (light but full of flavor). I also couldn’t resist starting with the House-Made Pimiento Cheese and Crunchy Catfish & Slaw — perfect shareables before the main. What made it special was the warm, rustic ambiance (wood beams, cozy lighting), and how attentive our server was — great recommendations without being pushy. The drink menu is solid too (they’ve got craft cocktails and local beers). I’ll definitely be back to try that Chicken-Fried Steak and dessert next time.

They have some very unique menu items with big flavors. I wish I would have taken some pictures of the soup, but it was so good that I couldn't wait. They even make sure that you leave with a to go drink if you need one.

A consistent experience of good food and pleasant accommodations. I would characterize this restaurant as an oversized neighborhood restaurant. There several in Austin and I have dined at most of them. Today was crispy shrimp. A little on the spicy side but good. The nice thing about this local restaurant chain is that they do a menu refresh on a periodic basis that is really welcomed.

We were here to celebrate hubby’s birthday. One of us being vegetarian, our choices were slim but the server Bryan was great! He suggested what to go with and even brought a sample of the appetizer that we had first shortlisted. When the dinner was done, we were debatinf whether to go with dessert as we were so full but he came and almost whispered ‘but you guys are celebrating’ and insisted on the dessert which was complimentary. For a vegetarian starter the spinach ravioli is 👍🏼

We can always count on Jack Allen’s to provide the experience and food we are craving. This is a lovely space, with a variety of seating types (booth, high top by bar, square table, outdoor/screened porch seating), and the waitstaff is friendly and welcoming. I’ve never ordered anything here I didn’t love, but this time I was there for the terrific happy hour — $1 off drinks and half price appetizers! We got beers from their choice of local taps and after enjoying the taste of pimiento cheese and crackers they bring every table, we dug in on the appetizers. The Smashed Guacamole is a MUST, the best in the city, and we added the Crunchy Catfish and Slaw and the Barbacoa Stackers. YUM. This filled us up, but we couldn’t resist a takeout order of Apple Cobbler. Every single bite we had at Jack Allen’s was outstanding!

Consistently impressed by this restaurant! Their food and drinks are fantastic! This time I tried the frozen pomegranate sangria margarita (strong but delicious!) and the Fat Burger with sweet potato fries. Those sweet potato fries are addictive and while they were delicious and flavorful enough on their own, the garlic aioli this came with made them my new favorite sweet potato fries. ♥️ The burger was good, especially the bun, and was so large that I couldn't finish it in one sitting! My only gripe with this restaurant is they have a lot of spicy ingredients on their menu (jalapeno and other chilis in 90% of their dishes), so me and my "can't handle heat" taste buds have to order carefully. They were flexible enough to sub the jalapeno mayo for regular mayo on my burger, so that definitely helps me find items I can order there.

Consistently delish! The red-haired lady host last Sunday was super friendly & efficient. Server forgot my drink for awhile & the booth near front door was a bit tight with bright lightbulb above, but the food is always really good quality & value. Recommend.

Solid local chain you can come back to again and again. Solid modern southern fare. They always bring out a taste of the pimento cheese and house made crackers, and it is a delightful start to any meal there. We loved the queso. I was bummed they took my old favorite crispy salmon and crab salad off the menu. My sons loved his burger. My daughter adored her quesadilla. Great “neighbor higher end” dining.

This place was absolutely awesome!! The waiter, William, recommended the appetizer ( jalapeno blue crab dip) and the entrees (13 spice chicken pasta & Salmon) both were absolutely delicious. We then tried desserts, (made by their own executive pastry chef) Key Lime Pie & Pineapple upside down cake. Which were totally fabulous!

We were seated right away on a Tuesday night. Brenda took care of us and did a great job! Came here for brunch. The migas were bland. It was super weird that the kids Mac and cheese had bleu cheese. My kids normally love Mac and cheese but they refused to eat this because of the strong flavour. Disappointed as I was expecting better.
