Opinions de JINYA Ramen Bar Austin
I could pass on the shrimp Altho I did like it! But the meat was strange. I absolutely LOVED THE chicken ramen (BUT with Clear chicken broth) - no mushrooms, no egg, no nori & No Chicken!! The chicken was disgusting. But I loved the Broth, noodles (add bok choy! Add veggies, add broccoli) such good soup!
The spicy vegan curry ramen is so good! It is the perfect combination of noodles, tofu, veggie toppings and the most flavorful broth. Indoor seating is quite tight and there is typically a 15-30 minutes wait on weekends.
We just moved to Austin and we’ve been looking for a few months for a good Ramen place with no luck. We accidentally found this place on Super Bowl night and we really lucked out. It’s a nice clean place. The decor is great. The staff are very nice and patient. We ordered some Ramen bowls and hoped for the best. We were really blown away by the quality of the Ramen. The broth was great. The accuracy of their seasoning and spicing was impressive. Usually when I ask for different levels for spices, I don’t always get what I asked for but this time the chef hit it right on the nail on their first try. The broth was very flavorful, but not overpowering the Ramen noodles were high-quality and perfectly cooked. It’s crazy that I’m writing a review for this place but I was really impressed and I want this place to do good so I can keep coming back with my family. There’s a whole bunch of other stuff on the menu that we can’t wait to try on future visits. It’s also great that there’s a lot of free parking so I don’t have to worry about that. Kudos to everybody that works there.
Jinyu Ramen Bar delivered a genuinely satisfying ramen experience overall. I ordered the spicy creamy ramen and asked to substitute tofu with chicken, and they were very accommodating — the swap worked beautifully. The broth was rich, deeply flavorful, and well-balanced, with a creamy heat that didn’t overpower the umami base. You can tell a lot of thought has gone into layering flavors rather than just relying on spice. One thing that really stands out, and something echoed across many other reviews, is how good they are with add-ons, combinations, and customizations. Whether it’s protein swaps, spice levels, or extra toppings, they seem very open to tailoring bowls to individual preferences, which is a big plus for a ramen spot. The only downside — and the reason this stays at four stars instead of five — is temperature. By the time I was only halfway through the bowl, the ramen had cooled more than expected. My recommendation would be to serve it extra hot. People coming specifically for ramen are already prepared to handle the heat, and keeping it hotter longer would really elevate the experience. (Maybe I will ask that explicitly next time.) Overall, excellent flavors, thoughtful customization, and a solid ramen option at The Domain. With just a little more attention to serving temperature, this could easily be a five-star spot. Edit : Wenr back today and the preparation was terrific. They also did a substitution I requested for and served the ramen extra hit 🔥!! I also signed up for membership and got a complimentary mochi ice cream.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. First time here. Sat at the bar. There are small tables and a sushi bar available as well. No wait at all when we got there. Absolutely loved the service and the atmosphere. The food was amazing, large portions, great flavor. Little pricey, but very good quality and fresh food. Would highly recommend and return. Great area, walking distance to many other bars and restaurants.
Really really loved this place!!!! My daughter’s just got back from spending a month in Japan pretty recently and they were missing the food so we tried this place out. They said it was just as good as some of the places in Japan! ♥️ we really enjoyed it, And I also thought the cocktails were very reasonably priced. The hot sake was excellent, The fried rice was so so good, and whatever you do do not skip out on the dessert we had the Matcha tiramisu and it was unbelievable!!!! We will definitely be back and this will definitely be in our regular rotation.
This place is an absolute gem! After trying a few different ramen spots in the area, this one is hands down my favorite. We walked in and were seated immediately—no long wait times, which is a huge plus. The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server was incredibly polite, very friendly, and attentive without hovering. As for the food, it was outstanding. The ramen came out piping hot and the flavor was spot on. The broth was rich and complex (not just salty like some places), the noodles had that perfect "chew" to them, and the toppings were fresh and generous. You can tell they put a lot of care into the preparation. It’s rare to find a place that nails both the food quality and the speed of service. Great atmosphere, great people, and amazing food. highly recommended!
I ate here solo and felt very comfortable. I would happily bring my family next time. The bun was good, bringing back memories of BaoHaus NYC. Besides the bun and Rei Sake, I ordered a chicken broth based ramen on special. The noodles were cooked just right and I really enjoyed the diced raw onion in the soup. The special came with a demon hunters themed spoon. Fun!
From the moment I walked into Jinya in the Domain, I was blown away by the atmosphere. The space has an energy that feels both lively and inviting—perfectly balancing the hustle of a busy Sunday night with a relaxed, welcoming vibe. What stood out most was how calm and collected the staff remained even during the dinner rush. Service never felt rushed or distracted, and everything was handled with professionalism and ease. It’s rare to see a team operate so smoothly when the place is absolutely packed. A special shoutout goes to Elliot, the bartender, who made the night even better. Not only were his cocktails top-notch—creative, balanced, and delicious—but his service throughout the evening was outstanding. He managed to keep the drinks flowing, engage with guests, and set a tone that elevated the whole dining experience. Between the incredible atmosphere, the cool and collected staff, and Elliot’s standout service, Jinya delivered far beyond expectations. If you’re in Austin and craving ramen with an unbeatable vibe (and some seriously good cocktails), this is the spot.
It’s hard to count how many times I’ve been to this bar — it’s truly one of my favorites. I especially love that they greet and farewell guests in Japanese, a beautiful tribute to a wonderful culture that sets the tone right away. The ramen here is unforgettable. You always want to come back for more, especially with their perfectly seasoned eggs — absolutely addictive! Their tuna poke is also a must-try: the marinade is exceptional, a perfectly balanced mix of soy, sesame oil, and a little magic that makes every bite memorable. I don’t even wonder why they’re not listed in any Austin ramen guides — they don’t need to be. Once you taste their food, you’ll never want to go back to other ramen spots (sorry, not sorry!). Adore this place and highly recommend it.
We’ve been dining at JINYA Ramen Bar for years — it’s our favorite go-to spot whenever we’re craving ramen. The flavors are always on point, and the vibe is consistently great. During our visit last weekend, I ordered the new Chef’s Special - Birria Ramen (rich, bold, and comforting), my husband ordered the Spicy Umami Miso Ramen (perfect level of heat and deep flavor), and we shared the super refreshing Matcha Lychee Lemonade — a must-have drink! We also enjoyed the Pork Gyoza, which we redeemed for free using our JINYA points (love their rewards program!), and the classic JINYA Bun — soft, savory, and delicious which is also one of our favorites. JINYA never misses. Still our #1 ramen spot!

Great visit from Houston to Austin, Lauren suggested which ramen to pick out as I follow a vegan diet. It was spicy and delicious! Location is in a fun spot too.

Shout out to our server Eden. She was professional and patient with my fickle mind. I’m an Asian fusion snob but Jinya makes it to my list of to go. I’ve gone to a different location from a different city and this was a cozy place, I like it. Not too noisy crowd although we beat the long line! They give military discount but I think it was forgotten on our tab. We ordered the last Tuesday deal of the month and I’m glad we did! But I loved the appetizers—-forgive me for forgetting their official menu names—-shrimp tempura, squid balls and edamame. Love love the drinks. I had the Sakura and my bestie had the Peachtini now that was the highlight!
I had a good experience at Jinya Ramen overall. I ordered the Birria Ramen, and it was delicious—flavorful broth with tender meat and just the right amount of spice. The service was decent as well; staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The only downside was the atmosphere. It was a bit too warm inside, likely because the AC wasn’t working very well, which made the dining experience slightly less comfortable. Still, the quality of the food and service more than made up for it.
So, this place is a good Noodle place. Food taste amazing and the service is pretty good. It can be a bit crowded at its busiest time. So eating at the bar top can be difficult when people keep bumping into you. I am sad that when you order a steam bun its only 1 pc, and it cost you 9 dollars. When other give you 4pc for 10 dollars. A little over kill, your good but your not that good. I get the chicken pieces for an appetizer, then had the new Birra Noodle. Pretty good, tip my hat for the chief making that. Your good taste of food and good service is what gives it a 4 out 5. Thank you for the food Note: I forgot to take a picture before I got my sticky fingers into the chicken. Good crunch, I like it.
They don’t take reservations so expect to wait a while. Especially because it’s a small space. They gave us an ETA and it took twice as long. Idk if it was worth the wait. The broth was rich and had good flavor. The biggest highlight = the pork belly was incredibly tender and soft. The service was decent. Overall, good.
Food was great! Great service! Ambiance was nice! Water was great very fresh and clean crisp taste.

Food and ambiance was good. The tables weren't big enough for the huge bowls and plates, especially the tables by the walls.

Came here for a friend’s birthday dinner, and overall the experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was lively, the menu had a great variety, and as a vegetarian, I really appreciated having multiple solid options to choose from, which isn’t always the case at many restaurants. The Impossible Bun was delicious, and the Vegetarian Ramen was beautifully presented with a perfect balance of flavors. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared. Our waiter was fantastic, incredibly kind, attentive and even surprised our friend with a piece of Matcha Tiramisu for their birthday, which was such a sweet touch and really made the night feel special. Unfortunately, the evening ended on an uncomfortable note. One of our friends ordered a cocktail with sake but couldn’t taste any alcohol, so they casually asked our waiter if it was the correct drink. The waiter confirmed it was, and we didn’t think much more of it. However, toward the end of the night, the manager approached our table unprompted and made a somewhat dismissive comment along the lines of, “Well, I made the drink, so I know it had alcohol in it. If you didn’t taste it, it’s because we mixed it well.” The tone felt unnecessarily sharp and caught us off guard, especially since we hadn’t escalated the situation or asked to speak with a manager. It was disappointing because the rest of the evening had been so positive. The three-star service rating reflects that interaction specifically, our waiter, on the other hand, was excellent and made the majority of the experience memorable in a good way. Overall, the food and atmosphere were great, and I hope that managements approach can match the quality of the rest of the experience in the future.
Tried out the ramen spot since it always looks busy. We ordered the spicy tempura shrimp, chicken ramen, and a chicken rice bowl, along with the matcha lychee lemonade. The presentation was on point, and service was quick. On the downside, the flavors didn’t quite live up to the hype, and it was pretty noisy inside. One unique touch I noticed is that the staff greets and cheers whenever a guest comes in or leaves.

I grew up in Tokyo Japan, and I grew up eating ramen. From authenticity, I think they are fairly close to serving true ramen. However, as you may have read in my other reviews, I unfortunately …
Came in to dine January 3rd, 2026. Food was fine, service was okay! However the manager with a receding hairline looked like a ROUGH 35 immediately gave us a nasty look when we walked in with a party of 7. He pointed to the host stand like we were dogs without uttering a single word when asked a simple question. Some of us had to use the restroom (after ordering our food of course, not soliciting) and you should expect him to come by and shake on the door handle and knock profusely. If you expect a more private meal, look somewhere else from the Austin location because he’ll consistently hover over your table like he wants a bite too. Our server was nice, and I’d be surprised if anyone who worked there ever told their friends that they love their manager.
We had a disappointing experience here today. The waitress was really nice, polite, and understanding when our vegan ramen came out with the wrong noodles — we had ordered thin noodles but received thick ones. She immediately offered to fix it, which we appreciated. However, the manager came over afterward and spoke to us in a very rude and unprofessional way. He said, “So what should I do with this, throw it?” — which was completely unnecessary and made the situation uncomfortable. Mistakes happen, but there’s no reason to speak to customers like that, especially when we were polite about it. The food itself was fine, but the attitude from management really ruined the experience. I hope the restaurant works on basic courtesy and professionalism, because their staff deserves better support.
