Opinions de Mozart's Coffee Roasters Austin
Great place, gets busy quick Mozart’s Coffee Roasters is a true Austin gem, offering a perfect blend of scenic views, great coffee, and cozy vibes. Nestled on the shores of Lake Austin, this spot provides a peaceful escape from the city, with a spacious lakeside deck that’s ideal for studying, catching up with friends, or enjoying a solo coffee break. The menu features a wide range of coffee drinks, house-roasted beans, pastries, and even light meals. Their cold brew and cappuccinos are especially popular, and the pastries—particularly the almond croissant—are always fresh. During the holidays, their famous light show transforms the place into a magical destination. The Wi-Fi is strong, seating is plentiful, and the ambiance—complete with live piano music on some nights—makes it more than just a coffee shop. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Mozart’s is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the charm and flavor of Austin.
This was a great spot to grab coffee, and I’m really glad we stopped by. We came around lunchtime today, but this feels like the kind of place that works just as well in the morning, early afternoon, or even later in the evening—especially if you’re looking to enjoy a beautiful view of the lake. There’s plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, and it’s easy to find a spot with a great view. A nice bonus is that they often have live music. Today there was a jazz band playing, which added such a relaxed and enjoyable vibe to the experience. It made the whole visit feel a little more special without being overwhelming. The coffee itself was excellent. I ordered a lavender chai latte, and it was really, really good. Even better, they’re able to make just about anything you want, even if it’s not listed on the menu. You can tell they’re flexible and genuinely want you to enjoy your drink. I also had a bacon quiche, and it was seasoned to perfection—absolutely amazing and way better than I expected. The service staff was very welcoming and happy to answer any questions we had. The overall atmosphere is chill and inviting. This is a great spot for a date morning, date night, or just hanging out with friends. With so many tables and seating options, you never feel cramped, and whether you choose to sit inside or outside, you’re pretty much guaranteed a nice view. There are also a few restaurants nearby if you want to make more of an outing, and parking is free in the lots across the street, which is always a plus. This is definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.
Mozart’s is a beautiful space by Lake Colorado. More than a coffee shop, it felt like a cozy hangout by the water (saw many small groups of students chilling and working there). The ambience was serene, the matcha lattes and nibbles (chicken empanada & quiches) were excellently made. Service was great. What’s not to love? I’ll come back for movies on the water.
The coffee and desserts here are absolutely amazing! Every sip and bite is perfection. The ambiance by the lake is superb — relaxing, scenic, and the perfect place to unwind day or night. Whether you’re catching up with friends or just enjoying a peaceful moment by the water, Mozart’s never disappoints. Plus the live music is a bonus.
This is my favorite outdoorsy coffee place in Austin — and hands down my favorite waterfront coffee spot. The lake views are stunning, especially at sunset, and the outdoor seating makes it perfect for relaxing and a must go if you’re visiting the city. This place is an Austin classic for a reason. Whether you’re a local or visiting, Mozart’s is a must-stop—especially if you’re into waterfront views, Great coffee, and cozy vibes that hit year-round. Located right on Lake Austin, the spacious deck is perfect for sipping your favorite drink. It’s also one of my go-to spots for getting some work done or just enjoying a peaceful moment outdoors. There’s plenty of patio seating with gorgeous views from every angle, and the best part? It’s dog-friendly, so your pup can relax right alongside you. Their coffee? Always on point. They roast their own beans in-house, and the variety is huge—whether you’re into bold espresso, sweet seasonal drinks, or something iced to cool off in the Texas heat. They also have a variety of pastries, desserts, and light bites to keep you fueled. What makes it even better: • There’s always live music or an event happening • Paddle board yoga on the lake • Outdoor movie nights • Rentals if you want to get out on the water Bonus: During the holidays, Mozart’s transforms into a magical light show that’s 100% worth braving the crowds.
Mozarts café started a new tradition! Christmas lights on the lake! It was so fun, relaxing & even included hot cocoa! It also included entrance to their Santa village. They had a little market to buy some Xmas items, sweet treats and hot wassail punch. This was great for date night, cruise with family and friends. But also a great Xmas outing for your teens! So make your reservation today, before they are sold out!
Atmosphere is pretty great if you love looking at the lake! High canopy underneath the trees for outdoor patio seating. There is some hidden elevated seating as well on a small deck towards the sidewalk when you first come in. There was unfortunate a lot of screaming kids for no reason, parents, be mindful as there’s other people that don’t quite enjoy that level of volume in one’s ears. Most of the tables are Pinic style outside. Can be pretty tight to navigate though. Will say that. Food service was pretty fast. Walk up counter style inside. Had the mocha coffee with an extra shot. Very delicious. The spinach quiche also was quite tasty. Wasn’t too big, perfect for a small snack.
Mozarts during Thanksgiving and Christmas time is a very special treat. The location is on Lake Austin and most of the indoor and outdoor seating areas offer nice views of the lake. Other cool aspects of Mozarts includes its live music, Christmas light show and holiday market. The chicken and chile empanada is one of my favorites, as are all their quiches. The bagels are good and so are their other baked goods and desserts. Mozarts also has a nice variety of coffee beverages like lattes, cappuccinos and matcha. I tried the hot English toffee latte this evening with a cinnamon roll. Enjoyed it! I’m a big fan of this place. Many in Austin favor Mozarts, as well. So it does get crowded - especially for the holiday light show so plan in advance.
Woww, this cafe is amazing. A very soothing and refreshing ambience, the big tree is the OP for this cafe and combined with the riverside tables… its simply superb. Coffee is amazing, desserts are yummy. Espresso cake, coconut macaroon, mocha coffee, empanadas are the must try..
Mozart’s Christmas show is such a charming experience. The storytelling and musical performances are genuinely impressive—especially for the space and location. It’s clear a lot of heart goes into creating the atmosphere each year. The lights are lovely, though I think there’s still room to make a few areas—like around the food stations—feel a bit more magical, especially given how much space they have to work with. But even then, you can tell they’re experimenting and evolving the concept each season, which is exciting to see. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the new drink additions—like the hot chocolate s’mores—were such a cozy treat. The only thing I’d note is that the timing and crowd flow can feel a little uneven, but I imagine that will improve as they refine the layout and schedule. Overall, it’s a really sweet holiday outing. I’d recommend visiting during a weekday to avoid the peak crowds and enjoy everything at a more relaxed pace.
Tried the Mozart Special iced mocha latte and it was amazing! Perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and super refreshing. Definitely recommend ☕✨ Tried the Indian snack samosa at Mozart Coffee Place and it was absolutely amazing! Perfectly crispy on the outside with a flavorful, well-spiced filling inside. Cozy atmosphere, great vibes, and delicious food—will definitely be coming back!
I recently visited a lovely café by the lake, and it was such a delightful experience. They offer some fun lake activities, and I noticed a restaurant nearby that had a long line. It seemed daunting at first, but I found that the wait wasn't as long as I expected. The weather was absolutely beautiful, and it was heartwarming to see the Christmas lights already adorning the café—a little touch that really brightened the atmosphere. Finding parking was a bit of an adventure, but I managed to locate some good options, including a few free spots, which was a relief. The food at the café was quite enjoyable. Although the coffee was a bit on the bitter side, I actually appreciate that distinct flavor when paired with something sweet. I indulged in a lemon tart that was truly scrumptious. As I sat there, I felt so at ease, especially with the live music filling the air. The singer had an incredible voice and chose beautiful songs that really resonated with me, making the whole experience even more special. It was a wonderful morning filled with coffee, laughter, and good vibes, and I genuinely had a fantastic time.
We ordered a draft latte along with the pistachio and chocolate chip cannolis. The atmosphere is very nice. I was enjoying the outdoor area but the birds were being very loud and aggressive. One bird came and took an entire bagel from a woman when she turned to speak to her companion. The wait for a table was zero but the line just to get in the door was long. Waited about 4 minutes in line. Service was fast and reliable.
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters in Austin is a very famous and must-visit spot. The coffee is excellent, and the live music creates a wonderful vibe. I love the lakeside setting, with the option to hire a boat, which makes the experience even more special. Definitely a must-visit coffee shop in Austin.
This place is packed in the evenings for all the right reasons. The amount of tables outside and lights and atmosphere make it 100% worth any inch of the crowd. They have amazing, pastries, cookies, cakes, scones their coffee is excellent It’s definitely very positive positive vibe and atmosphere there Great place to go to spend the evening having a conversation bring a board game sit out by the water and enjoy some coffee some people We went during the daytime when I took pictures of the place. I hope to go back again at night. They also have live music there, a lot, and other venues to check out . the restaurant next-door is amazing so if you’re a little bit more hungry for some more food than just treats or sandwiches, you can go there too
Mozart's Coffee Roasters is a hidden gem! The coffee is expertly roasted and brewed, with a rich flavor that's sure to satisfy any coffee connoisseur. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, making it the perfect spot to relax and unwind. The staff is knowledgeable and passionate about their craft, happy to guide you through their selection of specialty coffees. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just looking for a great cup, Mozart's is a must-visit destination. Highly recommend!
Our favorite Austin staple. The perfect combination of flame-roasted coffee, fresh-baked pastries, and incredible waterfront views. We come here all the time and it never disappoints!
My absolute fave coffee shop in Austin 🥹 been coming for years and when I moved out of state I was the most devastated about losing Mozart’s 😂 but I make it a point to come back every time I’m in town!! The pastries are always amazing, and I’ve tried a large portion of the drink menu (lattes, cold brew, chai, & matcha) and have yet to get a drink I don’t like! Being able to read by the water and hang with the turtles and birds is such a nice experience, one I can’t get in my current state! Highly recommend visiting this Austin gem!
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters is one of my go-to spots to bring visitors because it’s such a uniquely Austin place. Between the Christmas market, live music, and movies by the lake, there’s always something special going on. Their croissants are absolutely to die for, and the coffee is consistently delicious—though I usually lean toward their warm drinks. A classic spot with great vibes and even better treats
Always hit the spot up when I'm in Austin. It's great for the lake front view, nice outside wooden deck and huge windows. The espresso is poured just right and they roast their own beans! How much better can it get? Oh yea and it's a must see during Christmas holiday because they go all out with lighting and decor.
Thank You for Celebrating Chinese New Year! As an Asian member of the Austin community, I am incredibly grateful to Mozart's Coffeehouse for hosting such a thoughtful and inclusive Chinese New Year event. It was truly heartwarming to see a local business take the time to celebrate and honor our culture. The event was beautifully executed, from the festive decorations to the special menu items that reflected the spirit of the holiday. The atmosphere was welcoming and joyful, and it meant so much to me and my family to feel represented and appreciated in such a meaningful way. Your efforts to bring the community together and celebrate cultural diversity are truly commendable. Events like this not only create a sense of belonging but also help educate and connect people from different backgrounds. Thank you, Mozart's Coffeehouse, for your kindness and dedication to making the Austin community a more inclusive and vibrant place. I will definitely continue to support your coffeehouse and look forward to more cultural celebrations in the future!
Went to Mozart, and it was a really nice experience. The coffee, bakery, and atmosphere were all 10/10. Luckily, there was a light show and some music, which was a really good show. The water view while drinking coffee and eating some tasty cakes was out of this world. We ordered a mixed berry tart, chicken empanada, and a special mocha coffee. Everything tasted really good. I recommend this place.
One of our favorite spots during our Austin trip. The entire experience was wonderful. We visited in December and it was during their light show. We didn't actually attend the light show but came earlier to enjoy our time at Mozart's. The space is beautiful. I didn't expect much from a coffee shop but this is a wonderful place. We waited in line to order our coffee. The line moves pretty fast. I ordered the draft latte and m husband got the cold brew. Both were excellent. We were actually going to order another but the line was very long at this point. We opted to listen to the live music a little longer before leaving. There are so many places to sit outside and they also have seating inside. It is decorated nicely and right on the water. I would go to this place every day if we lived in Austin!!
Hands down, cutest and best coffee shop I've been to. The atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. There are plenty of places inside and on the deck to sit, relax, enjoy a meal, or set up your work space and get stuff done while next to the beautiful scenery and water. The counter staff was exceptional. I'm not generally a coffee drinker, so they helped me pick something and gave me suggestions.... which was SOOOO helpful!! Great experience, great coffee and phenomenal pastries, deserts, and sandwiches. *Don't skip this place if in Austin*
The place has an amazing waterfront view, and the vibe is pretty good. They had live music during the times we went (I'm not sure if it is every day). The menu is quite good, with a varied range of dishes. The order has to be placed inside the shop, but the seating is outside.. It gets pretty crowded quickly, at least during the weekends. You definitely should not miss out on the amazing views that you get from here. We have visited a few times over the weekend, and the parking is always a disappointment here.
Magical cozy little cafe right by the river with live music and true Austin vibes. Tried their latter and hazelnut torte cake. Was really happy with the latte with a good balance of milk and coffee. The cake was a little stale but acceptable. The service is average. The location is amazing but away from downtown. The parking can be really tough but you can get lucky. Open till midnight. The best time is at night. Will come again.
Mozart's Coffee Roasters: Lake Austin's Dynamic Escape! Mozart's is a true gem on Lake Austin. It transforms from a peaceful daytime study spot (those lakeside tables are perfect!) to a vibrant, romantic evening hub. Enjoy live music, Tuesday open mics, and stunning sunsets. The diverse crowd and lively atmosphere are fantastic. My solo visit was lovely. A must-visit Austin experience!
Everything about this place is amazing. The food display, the live music, the atmosphere, and the scenery by the river is 11/10 amazing. Being able to connect with a friend that came in town and meet new people was incredible. Looking forward to the future visits with new adventures and experiences that are to come from this coffee shop. Highly recommend going if you have been thinking about it and not sure or looking to go back, worth the trip.
Mozarts is the perfect spot to catch up with friends and family over coffee! Their customer service is top notch and our coffees came out impressively quickly. They have all sorts of pastries that were delicious and fresh! The views are spectacular and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to sit outside with plenty of shade by the water. We could smell the freshly toasted coffee and it was the cherry on top. The parking is a bit tough but there is plenty of parking across the street. I highly recommend Mozarts for your coffee dates!
Absolutely amazing breakfast and coffee shop! The vibe is cozy and the food is fresh! Take your laptop and work or bring your kids for a warm breakfast and walk around Lake Austin. Indoor/outdoor seating with breathtaking views of Lake Austin. Easy access for parking and see the surrounding area with additional restaurants and specialty shops.
I’ve been visiting Mozart’s Coffee Roasters since my first trip in 2018, and over the years, I’ve returned nearly ten times. Having lived in Austin for the past two years and visited regularly before that, Mozart’s has become one of my favorite spots in the city. Today, I visited again with a friend from Dallas and his wife and child. To our surprise, we found out that they were hosting a St. Patrick’s Day celebration with Irish dance performances, live music, and even face painting for the kids. It was a wonderful event that added to the lively and festive atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for families and friends alike. We ordered a hot mocha, a hot latte, a cold latte, and a slice of chocolate cake for the little one. The coffee was as delicious as ever, and the sunny afternoon made the vibe even better. While it was a bit crowded—likely due to spring break—the atmosphere was still relaxed and welcoming. The outdoor seating by Lake Austin offers beautiful views, which makes it a perfect place to enjoy your drink or even get some work done. I’ve visited Mozart’s on regular weekends, Christmas weekends, and New Year’s weekends, and it’s always a happening place. Whether it’s to meet friends, catch up, work, or just enjoy great coffee, there’s always a positive energy here. The variety of events they host, like today’s celebration, really adds to the charm and community feel. Mozart’s Coffee Roasters is more than just a café—it’s a vibrant part of the Austin community. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great coffee, a warm atmosphere, and a place to relax or catch up with friends.
Good spot for coffee outside. Right on the water. I've only been for live music, and I like the stage setup. Lots of tables. Line for drinks is long, but they service people quickly, so kudos for that. Everything is very expensive, but the coffee drinks are good and the desserts look good (never had them). We always have to park across the road (up the hill) where there's a ton of spots.
The Valentine’s Day event my friend and I attended Sunday, February 15, 2026 was one of the BEST experiences I have had in the neighborhood in a very long time. The staff worked so hard to make the experience welcoming, warm and really fun. Great music and Chef could not have made a better cheesecake and Cherries Jubilee. Thanks so much to all who made the magic happen. Amy Cichowski
Great vibes, good coffee and you’re right by the water! Noise level can get pretty high on mic nights but still very chill. Staff seemed very overwhelmed, lack of hospitality -which I understand when have a line of customers 247. But good customer service is still beneficial. Pastries are AMAZING.
A true pearl of Texas! Mozart's is one of Austin's best coffee shops, located at Oyster Landing on beautiful Lake Austin. This music-centric venue has an amazing atmosphere with multi-level decks ideal for use as a zen workspace, or for a pleasurable day/evening out with friends and family. Locally owned and operated since 1993, Mozart's has grown into a much adored oasis for caffeine loving artists and techies alike. For water lovers, they're now offering donut boats and stand up paddle board rentals for adventurful lake excursions. With aesthetically pleasing views, Mozart's provides a melodically-mellow melange of relaxation and caffeination! 11/10, I highly recommend. 🤠
Busy, busy, busy—but well worth it! There’s even an express kiosk outside if you just want to grab a coffee and enjoy the view, which I highly recommend. Easily one of the coolest coffee shops in the Austin area. Perfect for a date, a hangout with friends, or even just coming solo to relax and unwind.
One of the best coffee places I ever visited. It has good lake view and the coffee tastes good. Other beverages also available. There are paddle boats available at certain days of the week. I ordered white chocolate mocha iced and it is superb. There is a food place close by this store. Plenty of seating available.
I visited Mozart's Coffee Roasters cafe recently and ordered an Iced Mocha Special with a Pistachio Cannoli. The iced Mocha was delicious as well as the pistachio cream filling inside the Pistachio Cannoli. Everything seemed fresh, and service was prompt. There is a small gift shop located within the cafe that sells cute items. I quickly realized that coming to Mozart's is truly about the beautiful atmosphere and experience with added live music from local artists. I absolutely enjoyed my visit and would recommend to visit either during sunset or the night time to enjoy the beautiful lit up decorations around their property. Thank you! :)
Great location, awesome indoor and outdoor seating, and overall ambiance. There is a variety of desert options and coffees. The samosas were a nice touch. The coffee cake went nicely with the hot latte and frappé. All the items tasted great. Will definitely visit again to try out other desert and coffee items.
This place is really spectacular - there is two levels of seating, one along the river and one at street level. At night time the tree lights up and it's really cool. And there was live music. The line to order was absolutely insane, like 45 minute wait. Not sure if it's always like that or what but just my experience.
Mozart’s has the best vibes of any coffee shop!! Cute (but crowded) inside, but stunning and relaxing outdoors with tons of patio seating. The outside overlooks the river, and on Saturday morning they had live jazz music. It really set the vibe! I ordered a honey latte with almond milk and it was okay, not the best I’ve ever had but not horrible. They don’t have a huge selection of specialty drinks, mainly just the basic coffee shop drinks plus lots of yummy pastries and food. Even though I didn’t love my coffee, I will be back for the vibes!
Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, located at 3825 Lake Austin Blvd in Austin, is a lakeside café with unbeatable views and a cozy atmosphere. I stopped in for a latte and a pumpkin muffin, the latte was just okay, but the muffin was incredible: soft, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The real highlight, though, is the setting. Sitting on the patio overlooking Lake Austin feels like pressing pause on the world for a bit. It’s very popular come early, bring your laptop and soak in the vibes. The café is easy to find from downtown Austin, just take Lake Austin Boulevard west until you see the big sign right by the water. Parking can get tight, especially on weekends, but it’s worth the effort for the view alone. If you go, grab a seat outside, order something sweet, and let the lake do the rest.
Visiting Mozart Coffee Roasters during the Christmas season was such a fun experience. The place was buzzing with energy, the holiday decorations were charming, and the Nutcracker fire-throwing show was a highlight. The drinks and treats were yummy too! We did have difficulty finding the restroom since we had to go around the entire area, since we did not have VIP tickets. Plus there were only two stalls for lots of visitors.
Mozart’s has one of the best atmospheres in Austin. The location right by Lake Austin is absolutely beautiful — relaxing water views, plenty of outdoor seating, and a cozy vibe that makes it a perfect spot to catch up with friends or study. Especially around sunset, the setting is unbeatable. That said, the coffee itself was underwhelming. We ordered four different coffees, and all of them were just average — nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor or quality. For a place that’s so well-known, I expected a bit more depth and richness in the drinks. Overall, I’d come back for the ambiance and lake views, but not necessarily for the coffee itself.
Make sure you check the event calendar before visiting! I’ve been a regular for over a decade, I still love this place but it can be very inconvenient when events are hosted. Not only is it even harder to park than usual, but certain areas may be closed off, even the bathroom is inaccessible unless you purchase a ticket for the event and you’re stuck going to their limited trailer stalls (which is not handicap accessible, you have to climb stairs) Otherwise, pastries are good. Tea selection has been decent. They roast their own coffee beans, I’ve had better tasting coffee elsewhere. My husband likes the smoothies, and the Italian soda is pretty flavorless after they started cutting back on the amount of syrup used. Generally my main reason for still coming here and for recommending is the scenic view and pastries. When there’s no big event, it’s a good place to study, work or spend time with friends.
Visited Mozart Caffe around 10:00 AM and the vibe was fantastic. However, the line was quite long even for a weekday morning. I tried the black coffee and a few cakes, the flavors were great, but the prices felt high compared to similar cafes in the area. I'd love to see the pricing become a bit more competitive and perhaps more staff added to help with the morning rush. Definitely worth a visit for the atmosphere
Not much indoor seating, but lots of outdoor spots in the shade to enjoy the beautiful view! The vanilla latte was delicious. The line was a bit of a wait but coffee came out pretty shortly after ordering. Even though they were busy the cashier was polite and answered a quick question. I’m pregnant so just needed to verify how many espresso shots there would be in my drink. This was my third visit and I’ll definitely be back!
Café Mozart is a true gem! The ambiance is warm, elegant, and perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. I absolutely loved the coffee, rich, smooth, and expertly brewed. The pastries were fresh and delicious, especially the Viennese-style cakes. The service was outstanding, friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or just want to enjoy a peaceful moment with a sweet treat, Café Mozart is the perfect spot. I love it! Highly recommended!
Amazing view and live music! The atmosphere was good, but it started getting really crowded around sunset. Chai was ok. Dessert was also ok, we got the Dubai chocolate cake, mixed berry tart, carrot cake, and strawberry cheesecake. Somehow all of it was kinda bland? On the bright side it wasn't overly sugary. Also everything looked really good! Btw there's an overflow parking lot across the street, supposedly it's free but I accidentally parked in another nearby paid lot. Oops.
Great spot with a beautiful river view, perfect for enjoying a coffee outdoors. The cafe has a nice selection of baked goods, and the brownies are especially tasty! Parking can be a bit tricky, and there was a bit of a wait. coffee didn't meet my expectations. Nice atmosphere for a relaxed outing.
Mozarts is a classic in Austin. Its a little drive outside of town but the setting is unique and fun. Considerably more outdoor than indoor seating, which is fine most days of the year. In our many visit, we've sat inside once. Coffee and pastries are great all day. My only complaint is that they can be busy and the wait for drinks can be long and a little confusing. On our last visit, they misplaced one of our group's drink orders. They made it right, quickly, and are unfailingly friendly. Overall, a unique place worth a visit for meeting up for coffee and snacks!
The snacks and pastries were very good here.Though.A little higher priced than I expected. The sugar and sickness level was a lot less than I thought. It would be and that was an excellent surprise. The matcha latte was one of the better ones i've tasted. As long as you don't want em super sweet.Which is my preference. Overall experience wasn't a plus if you don't mind the price.
Greta atmosphere around the patisserie, lots of outdoor benches available to sit and enjoy the view. Their pastries never change though, cakes and cannolis are tasty but same selection all year round kinda gets boring. Coffee flavors change but unfortunately haven't come across many great ones. The coffee kind of tastes like the pot or the dispenser machine needs to be washed. 🤷🏼♂️ They have live music many a times during the weekend. They do decorate it very good during the holidays. Definitely worth a visit but for pastries. They do have indoor seating when it gets cold. Parking lot is small and limited. They have a satellite parking lot up the hill, not much of a walk.
I had to update my review. It's an amazing place with great bakery, good coffee and one of the best waterside seating in Austin. BUT, it's the victim of its own success. Even a while ago one had to wait 10 minutes to stand the line, and another 10-15 to get the order. Over the last year waiting times became unbearable, the minimum line length is 40 yards pretty much anytime during the day. There is NO coffee or pastry that I'd wait 40-50 minutes for... I simply stopped coming here because the management can't handle the popularity. And adding a separate pop up counter to get simple coffee while waiting in line for coffee is not an actual solution...
I went there on the Nautical lights boat tour with family members. The boat was a small pontoon and very nice and cozy. Our captain from Wisconsin was very nice. We had to park way up the hill at the LCRA parking lot. As far as the atmosphere on the grounds at Mozarts, it was too crazy, noisy, and crowded. Not my cup of tea. It was January 2nd but overcrowded in my opinion. We did not eat there. Just went for the nautical lights.
Nice atmosphere. The people working tonight worked slow and spent more time making jokes than doing anything. The bottomless coffee urns were all ice cold. Nice atmosphere but won’t be back.
We went yesterday around 5 pm to get a glimpse of famous sunset view but the place was overcrowded due to ongoing Festival of Lights…the main deck was booked and hence closed….after waiting in the queue for almost 25 min, got a chance to pick coffee and croissant but nothing great about much hyped coffee taste…I tried iced cappuccino but was too mild…more milk and very less coffee…the lighting was good for what we could see from outside… if you really want to enjoy, reserve online and plan to reach early to get parking and table with a good view
The WiFi is HORRIBLE, you cannot do any work here unfortunately. The atmosphere is great, but comes with the a higher price label for food and drinks. For reference just an espresso shot, no milk or anything is $4.25. The drink quality isn’t very good in my opinion, the Chai lattes are on the spicy side, very spicy if you like chai’s that way. The other drinks are alright but not amazing. There is usually a line out the door, but it goes fast and isn’t too much of a wait. I think the biggest issue is not having working WiFi, this is my fifth time coming here for late night school work and I either need to connect to a Mobile Hotspot or just sit here. It isn’t simply an issue of having multiple people connected to the WiFi or bandwidth, it doesn’t work in general. Even at low volumes of customers or regular volume it doesn’t change, just slow or not working or kicking you off. If you want to come here and do computer work I would avoid unfortunately. There also is the common issue of not many seats or seats with power outlets but you see that at many coffee shops. I would check out Bennu or Epoch if you’re looking for a more studious late night coffee shops, those two are open 24 hrs
Coffee was a 3/10, desserts and pastries a 2/10, but the vibe gets a 7/10. Everyone in our group ended up with drinks that were way too sweet, lattes, matcha, everything. The coffee itself was just… fine. We all walked out with headaches and had to grab ibuprofen afterward because of the sugar overload. The shop was extremely crowded, very much an in and out situation. Hospitality was minimal, like at the cashier, which isn’t much of an issue, but if you need anything, like asking for ice or getting a drink remade, there’s basically no staff around. Our drinks were too sweet to even finish, and there was no one to help. The view is decent if you snag a table on the upper deck. On the lower deck, you’re staring at mold and mud along the shore, which kills the charm a bit. We tried the bread and pastries too. They were just okay. Honestly, most buffets serve better desserts. This was our first and last visit to Mozart’s. I know a lot of people swear by this place, and the lake view is definitely a novelty for Austin, but is it really that impressive? Overall, it’s not a weekend worthy spot. Maybe it works if there’s a big event happening, but otherwise it’s just not enough. As someone who lives here, I don’t regret trying it once, but once was plenty.
We attend this event every year for the holiday light display, and unfortunately this year was very disappointing. Years ago, this was a free event, and when it became ticketed, we were happy to pay to support the team, enjoy the live music, and have a reserved table. Over the years, it was exciting to watch the lights modernize and evolve while still maintaining the spirit of a true holiday light festival. This year, however, it is difficult to justify calling what we experienced a “Festival of Lights.” What we saw was primarily a performance centered around an LED screen, spoken storytelling, and a fire performance. The only traditional holiday lights were the surrounding decorations and the UT display, which did not connect to the performance or storyline in any meaningful way. Knowing that this event once featured extensive string light displays paired with classic holiday music made this year’s experience especially disappointing. While we understand the desire to innovate and try new ideas, a “festival of lights” should still center on lights. A holiday performance may be a more accurate description of what was presented. Additionally, the changes to the event were not clearly or accurately reflected on the website or in the advertising, which contributed to unmet expectations. The overall organization of the event was also lacking. Both written signage and verbal directions from staff were confusing, and the layout created unnecessary crowding and foot traffic congestion. We truly value this event and its history, which is why this experience was so disheartening. We hope future years will better align with the spirit, clarity, and quality that originally made this festival special.
I have attended the light show when I visited Austin several time in the past 10 years. So disappointed in the nee format. NO LIGHT SHOW!!! Just listen to a lady telling a story while thet played music and showed her on a screen. Never will I attend this style of event. Not a light show, a storu telling show and singing! People were leaving after 15 min. I stayed for 30 before i realized there was not going to be a lighf show. Do not come unless you like to watch someone sing on a screen!!!
