Great spot to get drunk at after class! Not too mention the staff is friendly enough to call an Uber for me! Highly recommend if you’re looking to hang out and relax.

Great college bar atmosphere. Pool tables were a little rough, but only added character to the authentic feel. Outside patio is the bee's knees.

I love Cabels with my whole heart! Molly and Christian are really the best and is the glue to the operation🫶🏻 Nothing beats the ORIGINAL dollar beers.

Went in during the winter snow storm - bartenders were amazing food was great - Prices were very good we were very happy to come in with our big group of people and be treated very good. Definitely is a great place to go for happy hour.

Great college bar that is popular with the fraternity crowd. Great, cheap drinks that aren't watered down. Lots of televisions to see whatever game you want to play and there is a couple pool tables that you can play on. Definitely stop by if you find yourself in West campus wanting a drink.

literally the best college bar in Austin. we come here for every friend’s birthday party, group hangout, and big get together. we love the nights with discounted drinks, especially the one dollar beer nights and the discounted teas and mimosa nights. it is such a beloved fun and affordable hang out spot for us students!!!

Great bar. The inside space is smaller than it was at the previous location. Close to campus, nice vibes. I like the $8 Texas teas on Tues and Thurs. Quesadillas and chicken tenders are good! Gets super busy with lots of students.

I lived this place. It has a huge selection of beer but it was the aroma of delicious food that brought me in. I had the ranch burger and it was fanfrickentastic!

Service wasn't all that good but think they are short staffed and it was during the basketball game. I will be going back great beer selection.

Classic college dive bar. Good value on pitchers of Lone Star. Jukebox and pool tables round it out. Typical hangout for frat guys and on-campus engineers alike.

Honestly fairly good. Try the fries which are a ridiculously good value and so are the drinks and the bartenders have a fairly heavy pour. That said the crowd can get a little "fratty" at times.

Pretty much a quintessential college bar. Good food and lots of beer and Texas Tea. Dollar Beers on Tuesday is a UT classic.

Been coming to this campus dive for over 30 years (it's been through a few name changes). Food is much better than it was when I was in college and the beer menu is top notch.

A friend and I ate at during the evening. The bartender was friendly and attentive. And the food was great for the price. Will be back soon!

Your classic dive bar. Fun place to visit in Austin right on the University's campus. Good prices for the drinks (college bar). Would definitely go there again when visiting.

Not my usual crowd, not that I have a "usual crowd", but if you're on West Campus, this place is definitely worth checking out. Week day + night drink specials are pretty good as well.

I went there this past weekend, food was good and service was great. It seems they only have one waitress doing all the work. Although she's amazing, hiring more waiters/waitresses is necessary.

manager christian is a goat. I had a bad customer service interaction and he immediately came in to resolve everything. what a guy the bartenders are nice and the drink specials are fun; it’s a student staple for a reason

This place is pretty cool, they let you bring your dog in as well and you can eat outside with it, it is pretty fratty at times though so if you dont like that then steer clear but all in all it was enjoyable and the food I got was pretty good, the el Toro sandwich which is a different take in the philly cheesesteak. Its located pretty close to the university as well. Seems like a pretty good place to get a drink as well as long as it's not too busy with games going on, but if your older and not into noisy young people it might not be for you!

One of my college staples. We went for HH and again at night when we were in town. The bartender during the middle of the day was super friendly. The inside is a little run down. However, the floors aren't super sticky like I would expect for a college bar. This place is in the middle of west campus so its central to the the university and the living areas. They have something that they call a Texas Tea here that is like a Long Island Ice Tea. You can get it with soda or coke. They get served in these huge huge cups. I feel like one of those could really be enough for the entire night. If beer is your thing, there's so many on tap.

The burgers are delish! Staff is great. When you walk in it may seem like a dive college bar but its so much more. It's walking distance from work and the menu has tons of options at decent prices. I had been craving a REAL Burger not just fat food patty and first we tried the ones at Sapo's near campus. So disappointed for$15 dollar burger at Sapo's the patty was not fresh and not worth the price. We went to Cain & Abel's paid abbit$10 bucks for a burger with Black Angus meat, goat cheese, avocado- I'll let the pictures speak for itself

Good beer selection (not craft beers, though), good atmosphere, big patio, good prices. Very much a college bar, so not the best for young professionals. UT students, though, would love this place.

It's a straight forward bar. Unfortunately we got there when it was a bit understaffed, so service was a little slow. Great selection of beers on tap and ok hamburgers :)

It's a typical college bar, complete with overpriced stale craft beer and 32oz liquor drinks. Bar staff was friendly and mildly helpful. $20 for a pitcher of stale beer is not my idea of a good time.

Awesome beer selection, lots of seating and usually great scenery! Sure, sometimes its Frat central but what do you expect for West Campus. Its not bothersome enought to keep me from coming and grabbing a beer.

Pretty rad place for it being near campus it's pretty cheap! The bright lights kinda suck but the bartender I had last night was pretty awesome! She kept busy and was always spot on with her customer service skills! Definitely will be coming back Tuesday for dollar beers!

Its a nice place with good specials. Fun if you're a college student. Sometimes the wait for drinks can take a bit long and some of the staff are not very polite. On dollar beers, the bartender took my 5 and gave me the beer. She walked away before giving me my change and I had to pick between waiting another what 5 minutes to get her attention and getting my money back (I chose to leave and marked it as her tip for the night).

Smells of beer and shame. Typical college bar. Friendly service. Food takes awhile to arrive and it's just under par for quality and taste. Menu could be more creative. Drinks here are great. Always a deal to be had. Plus one of the better beer selections around UT.

Nice place to go sit on the patio and take in west campus with a beer. You will pay a little more than at a lot of bars but the atmosphere is nice. The atmosphere stays nice until it gets really busy and then Cain & Abel's looks like people trapped behind a fence. I have never gone when it's that busy but I can't imagine they have the best service at those times.

It was a nice bar next to a chill hookah place. The female bartender adds her own tips to the tab and then tries to be sneaky about it when she hands it over for you to sign. Friends and I ordered the exact same thing and were charged different amounts. Will be contacting my bank. The guy bartender was great.

Cheap drinks if that's what you're looking for. They only have 5 TV's 3 of them are 50' and the other 2 look like 30' so not a very good place to watch sports in my opinion. Service mediocre sat at the barn for about an hour I was never offered a refill.

I came here with a big group of people. To summarize my experience for you...rude staff, okayyyy drinks-smaller portions FOR SURE, unorganized, cannot train a new person properly, unprofessional communication skills, they wrongfully overcharged me without verbal or written consent, and they were giving cards out to the wrong people. Thanks for providing a space for our group but that was the worst customer service I have EVER experienced. The manager venmo'd me my money back FINALLY...but it took numerous attempts to reach out to them and dealing with a very rude employee that refused to give me her name and I had to deal with a little bit of sass from her. It blows my mind that an establishment can get away with this kind of service and be rude for their own mistake. AVOID COMING HERE WITH A GROUP LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

Beer was cheap but unless you're a frat daddy looking to get slammed off Bud light I'd go somewhere else. Food was not bad, server was nice but very slow. If you still need a picture of the vibe, two women walked around all night offering free Miller Light if you posted a picture of you with it on Instagram for promotion.

In regards to Abel’s Dos, I was politely enjoying my evening doobie (outside in the patio area, I might add); when all of a sudden, I hear this AGITATING, GRATING voice: “PUTTHATOUT.” Of course, I immediately complied. No hate to this guy, understand he’s just doing his job, but a simple “please don’t smoke that” would’ve sufficed 😎

What a pity that what is usually a cool bar has disrespectful and brawly waiters. Avoid this place if you don’t want your day ruined by disrespect and out of line comments.

The waiter Spencer acts with superiority and agressivenes. The rest is usually great, especially on tuesdays.

Hated it. Me and my friends had to seat ourselves. After 15 minutes of waiting we finally flagged down a server. She was not rude but the staff just ignored us. While waiting for our food the staff never came by to refill our drinks. We waited over thirty minutes before we just decided to leave without eating. We left money on the table for our food. On the way out the manager followed us and instead of asking why we our leaving he asked us to pay for food we didn't even eat. Their service was horrible and I am so angry that we were treated poorly.

Worst service I’ve ever had. The girl at the bar was just chatting with her friends the whole time. There were several people there to watch a soccer game and it took them 30+ minutes to put it on. Never refilled my soft drink, was impossible to get her attention for the check so we waited another 15 minutes for that. She’s being paid to work and serve customers not chat with her friends, just unprofessional and wasted my time.

Sat at the bar for twenty minutes and was completely ignored. Bartenders looked right at me and didn't bother to ask if I needed anything, but I was obviously looking for a drink and had a credit card in hand. So many other places around here that are much better, don't waste your time!

I've been going to Cain and Abel's since I turned 21. Today I went and there was a new bouncer, he checked our ID's way longer than normal but whatever it's a college bar and we understand the apprehension. Once we got up to leave is where the 1 star rating is deserved. Josh, the bouncer, decided that he wasn't going to let us leave the bar until we provided a reciept to prove we paid. Considering we cashed out on our first round of drinks, we found this to be absurd. When challenged, Josh asserted that he "knew we were underage". This was infuriating for two reasons: 1. Josh's first assertion that we didn't pay was just insulting, 2. He claimed we were underage, which if he thought that was the case, why did he let us in in the first place? Josh even threatened to call the cops, which we did for him since we were all well above age and lawful patrons. Thankfully, one of his colleagues stepped in to tell Josh to back off. I've enjoyed Cain and Abel's for the latter half of my undergraduate degree and even afterwards. Josh has given the complete opposite experience and has no business being anywhere near this UT tradition.

Came here a couple of days ago for a takeout order. Firstly, to the employee who rudely told us "how more clear can we get that that is not the entrance", obviously not clear enough if people(myself included) walk through those doors so try harder I guess. Secondly, extremely subpar environment wouldn't recommend dining in. Third, not sure who's fault it is but they didn't have any bags for some reason for takeout orders. So I had to walk all 4 of the containers out to the car praying I wouldn't drop them. This time, the food was unusually more disgusting. Not sure why I returned here after some time, I guess I wanted to give it a second chance. Cain & Abel's has failed consumers, nothing less expected from a company that employs people who fail basic human decency. Definitely would not recommend.

Could be a nice place to watch games at and chill on a sunny afternoon, but the bartender called someone a jew for doing something they disliked and the rest of the employees laughed (obviously not realizing we were jewish). Won't be back.

Parked here for 7 minutes on a Wednesday in the middle of the afternoon to use the restroom… even left the car running.. got a boot. Went in to let the manager know and the manager did nothing. So won’t be visiting. On a side note the place smells like urine.

Food was terrible, not a dine in restaurant of course to mention but service here is equally as bad. Drinks stand considerably decent but incredibly generic. Moreover, the lack of human decency amongst workers and an employee who sits in the parking lot to boot people who even step one foot off the property! This is a new low for the business and I will surely not be returning Cain & Abel's.

Tried getting a drink during rush hour which probably took about 30 minutes. Was met with an older bartender who was very rude and had probably the slowest service out of all the bartenders. Gave attitude to not only me and my party but other customers. Worst service ever. Avoid this bartender.

Zero stars if possible. Sat for 15 min at a dirty table looking around before going to bar top and being told they didn’t have a server. All the staff is college kids high of their ass and obviously don’t want to be there. Food was close to a card board box. It was super slow and took forever for me to get another drink. 6 people at the bar to 3 bartenders and they couldn’t manage. On their phones constantly took forever to a get silverware after food came out. Don’t go for food and service. If your going for fries and a large selection of beer your in luck.

What “bar and grill” requires an ID to get in? We tried to eat all were 21 but one didn’t have an ID with him. We were not drinking just getting food. They refused service for no ID. Trash. This would have been our first time here. They lost a second chance.

I had two separate tabs closed on my card for more than $250 after being there for about 30 minutes and only having one drink. I was not offered a receipt from the transaction and when I asked I was met with push back because the transaction had been “voided”. Weekend = Ruined.

I visited this bar for the first time with my family and friends only to get scammed by one of the female bartenders (julia, i believe) there. She deliberately added her own tip to the tab and had the AUDACITY to add another tip to my card. Luckily, my bank noticed and waived the second fee. iI went back to fix the error and luckily, the staff there were understanding and were able to resolve the issue. Hopefully, that bartender no longer works there because it seems like I wasn't the only one she was doing this to. The drinks were good but it is a shame that this was what happened on my first experience ever going there.,

This establishment is frustrating. I parked in a parking spot that is divided between Cain's and University Realty for a total of 5 minutes and was booted! I was returning a pair of keys to University Realty and parked in a spot that appeared appropriate for entering this establishment. The towing signs only state that these spots are for customer use only. With the two establishments appearing to share a parking lot, how is anyone supposed to know if these spots are specific to any business? Any person would assume this lot is a shared parking space since no company is labeled on any towing signs. I received a boot and removal fee of $100, but the only way to get the money back is to go through the extensive process of going to small claims court, which is $60 to form a case plus your time. If you are going to boot a Car for illegal parking, label your signs to inform customers that your parking lot is for your business ONLY.
