Delicious ! Fast service and nice staff.
My son and I both love this place and have been coming here for many years, but it had been quite a while this time. They have fixed the place up! It looks very nice, and the parking lot is not as scary as it used to be. But most importantly, the chicken pad Thai is still every bit as great as we remembered. It's by far my favorite pad Thai in Austin, and it made me so happy to be able to get here and enjoy it again.
I’ve been eating at this Thai restaurant for over 25 years, and the flavors have been consistently exceptional — vibrant, aromatic, and beautifully balanced. Each dish bursts with the perfect mix of herbs, citrus, and umami — you can taste the care and authenticity in every bite.
My new favorite Thai restaurant in Austin! I had the chicken pad Thai and iced Thai coffee. I absolutely loved them both! The employees were so kind and helpful as well!
The recent change in ownership clearly shows. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Austin. The food is 10/10 and I always have such an amazing experience. Would highly recommend!
I genuinely cried because of this meal. My boyfriend ordered me Thai because it is my number one comfort food, next to mexican (my cultural food). I was having a terribly challenging day and feeling beaten by the world today especially. I am new to Austin and don’t know much about the Thai food here so I took a shot in the dark because I knew they had vegan food from the reviews. Let me tell you I am so grateful I did. Not only was the pad thai some of the BEST I’ve had in my life, coming from someone who spent my childhood being a special guest at all my local thai spots and calling the several special women at each spot my other mothers and tias because of how close we got over the years and how they watched me grow up and how they supported and fed me in my hardest time. But on top of that, they gifted me fresh rolls and that sent me over the edge for a solid 15 minutes. You guys have no idea how much that gesture meant to me today of all days and how much that random act of kindness will lift me up in tough times in the future. Above all, the fresh rolls, pad Thai, and peanut sauce are EXACTLY what I look for when I say I want Thai food. The flavors are perfect and balanced, the noodle choice in both are excellent and the fact that veganizing them had no effect on the flavor (as is not usually the case) is mind blowing. Please try this spot! And thank you to the kind and hard workers that made such a huge impact with only a single meal. May you have many many years of success and growth. :)
My husband and I came to eat here after we were left sitting at another late night Thai restaurant for almost half an hour without being greeted and I've never been so happy to have been driven from an establishment by bad service, because it led us here. Not only was the service great, but the food was incredible. I can't believe they don't have 5 stars and that they weren't packed when we popped in. We will definitely be back for more!!
The Shrimp Pad Thai was outstanding—juicy shrimp, chewy noodles, and a bright tamarind-lime balance with just the right heat. The plate came out hot and beautifully presented, and portions were generous for the price. Service was warm and attentive without hovering, and the menu had plenty of tempting Thai classics to come back for. Easy to find and convenient for a quick bite or a relaxed meal—highly recommend!
I somehow had Pad See Ew when I got home instead of Pad Kee Maow. It was still very good even with the sweeter sauce. I’d been craving the 🐅 🌶️ Pad Kee Maow for months. The broccoli’s were buried at the bottom. I thought the kitchen had a really off night after I realized it was Pad See Ew and thought they’d missed the broccolis too. Spring roll was fresh and tight rolled. Always good dipping sauce here. I would recommend the Pad See Ew to those that like it much less 🌶️. For the brave Pad Kee Maow~Tiger 🔥 is awesome
Legendary - as good as it gets • Green curry with pork - ask for hot ** - Gang Keow Wan • Panang *** Loved - must order every time • Payal’s Red Curry (diff from Panang) - 3A - Gang Pet Gai - I think this is called number 6 from the lunch menu • Tom Ka Gai *** • Papaya salad ** • Pad Thai ** • Dessert ○ Coconut ice cream (best I’ve ever had) **** ○ Fried Bananas **** ○ Sticky rice with mangoes *** Liked • Thai fried rice
I've been hearing about this Austin staple of a Thai place for years. I'm so glad I came in! It's a little spot that feels so cozy and the service is spot on. Our server was present, helpful, and gave us great recommendations on food. We had the Khai Look Kory (Son in Law), Yen Toe-Fo (Pink Soup), and Tears but Joy (with fish). The Son in Law was a real surprise that had such great flavor with good textures as well. The Pink Soup was so delicious with the fat noodles, chicken, and seafood. I think the broth was really on point and tasted like a homey dish. The Tears but Joy is just that; spicy but amazingly delicious. The flavor of the sauce was really something special. Make sure to get some extra water because it's hot! I can't wait to come back and try many more of their dishes.
Hands down my favorite thai restaurant EVER. The food here is SO good - flavorful, authentic, and high quality. They have an extensive menu for all types of diets. We ordered fried tofu and edamame for starters, Tom Ka and Pad See Ew for entres and 2 Chang (thai beer). Everything was amazing and came super quickly. The waitress was so nice, friendly, and attentive.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Kitchen with a group of 10 construction workers, and I was thoroughly impressed with the experience. The staff did an excellent job of quickly accommodating our group, ensuring that we could get back to work in a timely manner without sacrificing quality. The lunch special was a standout, offering a hearty dish that was both flavorful and satisfying. It also came with a delicious coconut milk soup and a crispy egg roll, which made for a well-rounded meal. The service was efficient and friendly, making it an ideal spot for a quick but enjoyable lunch break. Highly recommend for those in need of a good meal that doesn't waste time!
This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Austin because it is authentic ingredients. I've been going here for many years and noticed some good changes. The front patio is nice and clean - great for outdoor dining and large groups. The lighting is brighter now which makes the place more open and vibrant. I also liked that they updated the menu - everything looks so good. Our food today was delicious and couldn't stop myself. Come get your real Thai food here. Ask for the coconut Thai tea!!!!! So freaking good!!!!
I recently visited Thai Kitchen, and had an excellent dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was packed with authentic flavors, and the balance of spices was spot-on. We tried a variety of items, from the classic Pad Thai to the rich and fragrant Coconut Milk Soup, and each one was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous, and the ingredients felt incredibly fresh. The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations based on our preferences. Overall, it was a delightful experience, and I highly recommend Thai Kitchen to anyone craving top-notch Thai food with great service. Will definitely be coming back!
This is my favorite Thai food restaurant, hands down. I've been all over the state, trying various restaurants when I travel, and nothing has beat this one. Not only are the dishes fresh and authentic, but the portions are very generous. Fabulous food, attentive and friendly staff, and great prices.
We got the curry fried rice and it was too much of turmeric taste.
I think this restaurant came under new ownership within the past 9 months or so, so it might explain some negative changes. I ordered the mild yellow curry that I’ve been ordering there for nearly 2 years and I always get the same dish: the yellow curry with chicken, not spicy. Today I got this dish, and it was green and spicy. Same dish otherwise, but it’s not a question that this was completely green and spicier than I’ve ever had this dish. I can’t eat spice so I know what I can order at Thai places, and at this restaurant it used to be this dish. I ordered it from them at least 40-50 times. If the new owners want to call that color yellow then fine, but to the rest of the world that is called green, and it is spicier than I’ve ever had “yellow curry”. I would not be complaining about it except for the fact that when I called them after opening the food at home, the cashier immediately said “no that’s yellow curry” which tells me they are used to this complaint, because she was doubtless of any error despite me saying it was both green and spicy. With a complaint like this, they would normally assume a mistake might have been made (or at least a misunderstanding and then offer an explanation like “our regional Thai cuisine is different than what you might have had previously here under the old ownership”) and they would ask me to bring the food back and rectify it somehow. That didn’t happen, which means they are aware that other customers are wondering why their yellow curry is completely green and spicy. She simply said it’s yellow and nothing has changed, neither of which is true. If you like yellow curry I suggest you order something else here, but don’t expect anything consistent with other Thai restaurants. They are a decent restaurant, but I would not recommend them if you have any restrictions at all, because they will not accurately describe their food.
Recently the quality of the food at Thai Kitchen has markedly deteriorated. It had been our go-to restaurant for years but apparently the recipes (or the cooks) have changed, so we're looking for a new go-to local Thai restaurant. The extensive menu includes a vegetarian menu section and many menu customizations are possible. What we've noticed is sauces getting thinner and less flavorful; fewer and missing dish ingredients; and when you request extra ingredients including tofu, hardly anything is added. * This is a detailed response to the restaurant's Feb. 18, 2026 response to my initial Feb. 2026 posting. Our last pick-up order was placed mid-January 2026. We used the restaurant's online menu order website area to order from, as we had successfully done previously over several years, and which included a vegetarian section. Only this time, the order didn't complete properly. We called the restaurant, were told that customers shouldn't use the restaurant website to order from, and staff canceled our website order. Shouldn't the restaurant's website area have been removed if it no longer worked? We placed our order a second time with staff over the phone, but when we arrived, our pick-up order hadn't been acted on and we had a lengthy wait for our food. That was some truly bad customer service. Maybe the cooks haven't changed in decades, but the quality of the food has definitely gotten worse in the past year. We threw away much of the food from the Jan. 2026 pick-up order because it was so bad we didn't want to eat it. We're not planning on coming back.
Soft rolls had no carrots, cucumber or cilantro. They made plain with rice noodles & lettuce leaf. That’s all the veggies. No peanut sauce, just plain fish sauce with too much garlic. I couldn’t eat it. Pad Thai had good flavor but it was dry. It needs more pad Thai sauce. Even the lime was dry, I couldn’t squeeze a drop out of it. Sticky mango rice was also dry. It needs more coconut milk. It had very very little at the bottom. I feel everything was dry and lack sauce in an effort to save money on ingredients. Disappointed
