Ski Shores Cafe has an amazing vibe—perfect for a laid-back hangout. Their vegetarian burger is one of the best I’ve had, packed with flavor and super satisfying. The cocktails are also top-notch, making it a great spot for both food and drinks. Highly recommend!

The vibe is so good. Love the food and ordering process is so easy. I went with my friend and sit by the river. Love the scene seeing families coming in with their own boat! The parking is quite limited tho esp during the weekend.

If you have time to make the drive out to Ski Shores or even better, come by boat, it’s worth the trip. Their recent menu revamp is great & it eliminated the long wait times we had in previous years. Our service for the past year has been excellent.

It’s one of those places that you’re grateful they exist. Especially if you like European vibes and ambience. You can easily spend half a day here, easily. The only drawback is that it’s a little off the grid but that’s also why it’s special no? 👍🏼 Weekends are the best but expect some wait times, not more than 30 mins though.

Great spot as always 🩵 Tasty veggie burger & fries. A bit pricier since MMH took over, but the space & food have improved. Love having a snack on the water & super friendly service today. Def. Recommend.

45 minutes wait on a Sunday afternoon but u can order drinks from the bar. Love the vibe with music, you can bring your fur baby. And the lobster roll topped it all. For drinks we had the banana cocktail and the bikini drink. Chill crowd. Love it!

Ski Shores Cafe - A Lakeside Gem with Room for Polish My friend Britt took me to Ski Shores Cafe on a sunny afternoon, and it was a great call! Perched right on Lake Austin, the vibe is pure Austin chill: wooden decks, live music drifting in the background, and that unbeatable water view. We grabbed a spot outside and dove into the menu. The fish tacos were fresh and flavorful, with just the right kick from the slaw, and the burgers hit the spot with juicy patties and crispy fries. Service was friendly and quick, even though it was packed. That said, the wait for a table was a bit longer than expected (about 20 minutes), and prices felt a tad high for casual lakeside eats. Still, it’s a solid spot for a fun outing – thanks, Britt! Would definitely return.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Ski Shores Cafe on Lake Austin. While we did face a wait as walk-ins, the time passed quickly thanks to the wonderful playground that kept our grandchild entertained. The staff provided an accurate wait time estimate and seated us exactly when promised. The restaurant's QR code ordering system worked seamlessly and made the dining process effortless. Our meals were consistently satisfying across the board - from the well-executed burger and fish & chips to the perfectly portioned kids meal. The sundae provided a sweet finish to our meal, though I did need to follow up twice to ensure my Klondike ice cream made it to the table. The lakeside setting creates a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that's perfect for multigenerational dining. Parking can be challenging during busy periods, so plan accordingly or consider alternative transportation if visiting during peak hours.

Decided to have lunch with a nice lake view so we tried this spot out. We had the nachos, La Pina burger, hot dog and some pina coladas (2 each). All of the food and drinks were all good, no complaints there but you’re 100% paying for the environment and area you’re in. For what we ordered it was over $130 (tip included), but again this is in a very wealthy part of Austin and it’s also catered to people who are on the lake already, so it’s kind of a convenience thing also. There’s a small parking lot there, which was packed when we went- a car actually parked blocking half of the entrance. Also this restaurant is dog friendly.

This place really should be 5 stars BUT I've grown up visiting here, and while the new owners improved a ton after renovation and menu changes, there are a few things I'll touch on that could improve. The place is beautiful, fun, unique, and offers a lot: delicious food + drink menu, right on the water, shaded, good seating, small stage for live music, massive fish, turtles, and ducks, a pickleball court, multiple bar areas, an indoor eating area, a sand/play area, and little gift shop. Food is served via scanning a QR code and ordering online, then it is brought out to your table. We just got the chicken tenders as we were on a budget but they were pretty good!! I LOVE it here overall. I just wish 3 things changed. 1: There used to be a physical play structure for the kiddos... Not sure why they took it down? We'd love to have it back as that was an upsetting surprise today. 2: While the menu got much better, the prices increased greatly... a little too much but maybe inflation and location? 3: The parking is kind of a joke as there's not much of it. We didn't have an issue around 12 on a Tuesday but if you're coming in the evening or weekend or during an event, good luck. That being said, none of that will stop us from continuing to visit here as it's such a hidden local gem!

The atmosphere and view are beautiful. It’s of course lakeside and there was great service. Beware: the prices are HIGH. No refills, sides not included, and poor vegetarian options. MIDSOMMAR vibes.

If you’re looking for great food, keep looking! I grew up in Louisiana and was excited to have some fried catfish since i’ve heard such good things. To my surprise, this was by far the most underwhelming catfish i’ve had. Service was also not up to par, tried to flag down someone for 10-15 minutes just to get a to go box. However, if you’re looking for a “instagram” worthy picture then this is the place! Beautiful spot with a scenic route on the way there but the food was mid to say the least.

The food had decent flavor, but nothing special. The service was just okay since you order everything yourself at the counter, yet they still ask for a tip, which felt awkward given the lack of table service. They’re also very inflexible with substitutions. Even though all the sides are priced the same, they won’t let you swap fries for another side, which was frustrating. Instead, they push you to buy extra items if you want something different. The burgers are around $18, don’t come with a side, and are surprisingly small, so they really don’t feel worth the price. Another issue was how the food was brought out. We were a group of four, and instead of bringing everything together, they brought plates out one by one. So you either ate alone or waited while your food got cold, which made the experience feel unorganized. The water also tasted very strange, which was another letdown. And the carajillo was basically just Coke, when it should obviously be an alcoholic drink. That said, the environment is the highlight. The views are great, the vibe is cool, and the fire pits with s’mores are a nice touch. I’d recommend Ski Shores more for the scenery and atmosphere than for the food or service, which were both pretty mid.

I have been here twice. The atmosphere is amazing. It is right off of the water which provides amazing views. I am not a fan of ordering off of an app and especially having to tip before getting your food and seeing how the service was. I thought the food was good but a bit pricey as everything is ordered separately (you have to order fries separate from a burger). That might seem trivial but when you are ordering with an app anything that can streamline the process would be great. The service was not great. Our appetizer came out and was followed up quickly by our burgers but our fries and onion rings came out way after our burgers. Overall, it is a cool place to hangout but get there early as there is not much parking.

The location of this café is truly beautiful, especially with the lovely view by the water. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not meet my expectations. Even the water didn’t taste quite right, which made me hesitant to order anything else. The atmosphere seems to cater more to appearance than genuine comfort or quality. I would recommend visiting only for the scenic view by the water, but not necessarily for the food or service. I’m giving this place one star, mainly for the opportunity to sit by the water and enjoy nature.
