First time trying this little gem! Ordered a chopped beef sandwich and frito pie ( I added jalapeno on the frito pie) ! Both were incredible. Can't wait to try everything else on the menu. Also, super friendly service!

Reasonable good BBQ ... I havent been here in 7 years but the bbq is still as expected. Personally I prefer brisket that isn't this lean, but it was tender and tasty! The sausage is good and they gave us plenty of bbq sauce, onions, pickles and bread. This is a great place to stop in and get a quick bbq fix after a day at the lake! They have been in the same location for 36 years ... I'm glad they are still around!

This is a great place to drop by if you're in the area.If you want a nice breakfast grab one of there breakfast tacos that are absolutely delicious.Or grab a sandwich,I prefer a double brisket sandwich with light on the bbq sauce.if you're near the area come by and grab some breakfast or lunch

The stuffed potato has been a must on our weekly foraging. An icon in the community w the smokers on the street enticing us to stop in. One cannot geaux wrong w the stuffed brisket potatoes to geaux!

Best bar staff hands down, Rocky is the most friendliest staff member, food is by far the best in Texas! Don't pass this place up,it can can get really busy and wait time can get long but trust you me it's worth the wait!

Clearly a Tier B Austin bbq joint (opposed to interstellar, franklin, black box, labbq, etc), but it's top notch for what it is. Give 5 stars because they are the best. If you go to Rudy's or Mo's over this place just move to Oklahoma or New York or something and don't come back.

I came here to see what the big hype was about at work. They only take cash though so watch out. I had the big stuffed potato with the brisket whatever the meat this is a warning to people who are not used to rich food be careful I am facing the consequences of rich food but it was really yummy My body is not used to in this type of food because I have eating disorder so it just might meet me and my body but it was so rich I got sick but it was yummy at the same time thank you . If you have kids sizes I'll definitely take that next time.

Semi-hidden gem right at the intersection of 2222 and 620. While it is cash only it is definitely worth a stop by an ATM before visiting. Their Frito pie is out of this world and only $5. Not to be outdone their chopped stuffed potato is also $5 and each of those is a meal on it's own. We recently tried their family pack which was two great meals for two people all less than $20. Oh and the breakfast tacos are also great too.

Lots of options, incredibly reasonable prices and generous portions. I loved the Frito Pie! Does Austin have fancier BBQ? Of course, but sometimes you don't want fancy or pretentious, you just want to stuff your face with smoked meats.

The place is a BBQ stand with picnic tables next to a gas station. Don't let looks deceive you, this place is great! The sandwiches are buns fully loaded with whatever meat you choose. They also have loaded potatoes. The sausage tacos are good too. Great place to go on a nice spring day.

It's always pretty good so I thought I would give it a try, and since I had cash on me, it seemed like the perfect opportunity. I'm so glad I did because I went ahead and ordered their pulled pork sandwich and it was so delicious at such a fair price. The woman taking my order was super sweet, to the point of adorable. I wanted some beef jerky to go with my order, but they were all sold out. It must be really good, and I'm excited to try it next time I stop by!

I had the special of the day, pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious, maybe the best pulled pork I've had yet. I would only give 4 stars because they don't have sweet tea, and I bought some jerky, it was ok. I'll definitely be back for a sandwich!

A nice change from chain bbq joints. They offer fajita beef and tortillas which mixes it up a bit. The brisket was a little too fatty, but I imagine I just got a bad cut. The sausage was server whole, and was delicious.

Cash only? Hmmm. Buns are cold and dry - right out of the plastic bag. I didn't see a bathroom. Outside seating only. I didn't see an a/c inside, just two evaporative water blower units. The customers - many of whom are construction workers walking up for a quick meal - clean up after themselves. BBQ on bun has an odd and substandard taste, definitely not delicious. An owner wasn't happy when I asked for a side of complimentary BBQ sauce. This is basically a food stand with a hard place to sit, eat, and watch and hear the busy 620 traffic. Owners have made high profits for decades with this cheap, very low overhead, cash only setup. My wife and I will not return.

It all taste the same. Like brunt caramel glazed. Even the breakfast tacos and beef jerky taste the same

I mean it wasn’t bad but as far as barbecue in Austin is concerned, pretty much everywhere else I’ve been has better meats.

Sadly the moist cut brisket was very hard and dry. Everyone was very nice and I like the rustic environment, might give it a 2nd try someday, but not when I really want some good BBQ.

Brisket is bland. Really bland. Beans are too sweet. The bread on the sandwiches was dry and hard. Potato salad was okay. The bbq sauce has a good taste but it's very watery. The guy that made my order has a long beard not covered by a hair net. On top of that, they only take cash so I had to go find an ATM and pay fees on that. I don't know who's giving them more than one or two stars, but those people either have covid or their taste buds have been dead for years. If you like flavorless food, this is the place for you, but I won't be back.

Meaning we were taking too long ordering, and he was annoyed with all the questions. Mind you, this is the first time we have ever eaten there. We laughed it off thinking, he probably is behaving this way because he knows his food is awesome 👌. NEWS FLASH! The bbq was not tasty. We love bbq and love to go eat at different BBQ places at least 3 times per month. The food we ate was chewy and lacked flavor and was not cooked long enough for the beef to melt in your month. And the sausage tastes like old grease. Rudy's BBQ tastes better. And that's because Rudy's is not good. Honestly, I do not like giving bad reviews, but sometimes people need to make others accountable for their behavior.

This place is not disabled access friendly. They have NO disabled parking spaces. This issue has been pointed out multiple times and they have made no attempt to remedy this situation.

Brisket was dry, bland no taste, cheese wasnt even melted ,and tortilla was warm at best, and none of the ingredients were mixed, one on top of the other, and last but not least the SALSA, taste like PACE you buy from HEB. Not to mention dude had dip in his mouth while he gave me my food which im pretty sure is a health code violation. Staff was friendly, only reason for the star.

Good location, very subpar food, and even worse customer service. The contempt and unwarranted rudeness this meat cutter displayed towards my darker-complected brother was bizarre and uncivilized. Fortunately, much better food choices and friendly service abound in adjacent food trucks these days.

Maybe if dude would have slightly smiled and seemed like he gave a damn, I would have considered still supporting the run down business. It’s sad, because they’re in a great location to access many sales. I see why people only stop there out of convenience. Try taking credit/debit cards and acting like you WANT customers. I give this place another 2 years tops before it’s rightfully closed.
