We had such a great experience here. Our server Angelina made the night even better. She was friendly, attentive, and really knew the menu. She explained how everything worked, and gave excellent recommendations. She made the whole experience feel easy and fun, especially for our first time doing Japanese BBQ. Angelina handled our party of 20 flawlessly. She was organized, fast, calm under pressure, and somehow still had everyone laughing. Service was smooth, orders were perfect, and the energy at our table was great the entire time. We were even talking with other tables and random guests around us, and multiple random people kept saying how much they loved her too. Our whole group can’t wait to come back and is already planning to bring more friends and family just to sit with her again.

Oh where do I start!!! First of all Genevieve was outstanding she explained each and every menu in detail and we went with every one of her suggestions and we were not disappointed! Angelina also helped us because we kept getting them confused! Angelina was hilarious she had us smiling the whole time along with genevieve! Beautiful girls!!! Gyu kaku you did an amazing job hiring these two girls! You best treat them well! We 1000% will be returning for the food but also very much so for the awesome vibes these two girls brought in to our atmosphere. Definitely our new Friday spot. Perfect date night spot! We came in and Bach quickly sat us down at our table and was really accommodating and made sure we ordered our food and got it in a timely manner. Gen took over our table and ensured we were taken care of for the remainder of the time. We will be back again.

We got the OMG French toast which was absolutely delicious so sweet (not too sweet) The classic but one of us substitute the toast for a cinnamon pancake. The cinnamon pancake and white chocolate inside and caramelized nuts on top. This was one of the best meals I’ve had! Thank you Snooze for a good time

First time and loved it!!!, Staff was super friendly, attentive, the place was packed and they still managed to keep a smile and excellent service. Food is amazing, tasty great presentation and loved the variety. Had the Habanero Pork Belly fried rice, girls had French toast and pancakes. Drinks are top notch highly recommend the super green and butterfly lemonade. Loved the TV by bar help keep up with college football and the patio seating is a great option to enjoy the sun shine. A definite must try when visiting Austin

Great atmosphere, location, and service. Comfy seating and actual music playing that makes you want to sing and dance while you wait or eat. Pictured is the French toast and the bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast platter, biscuits & gravy, eggsBenedict, breakfast tacos, shrimp & grits, and in the same pic are what survived of an order of blueberry pancakes. Fresh and hot food. This place gets an A+ in every class. And the coffee isn't bitter which goes perfect with the breakfast. I live in SF but was born and raised in ATX. It's nice to go home and visit and find new places that don't bite.

This restaurant is AMAZING!!!! I came to eat here for my birthday and everything was delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were so good. They are the best pancakes I have ever had . They even put a candle on the pancakes for me , which was so thoughtful. The French toast melted in my mouth . The bacon 🥓 was perfect. The Hashbrowns were amazing. Everything was perfect. I can't wait to come back and eat here again .

A good spot for gluten free brunch! You can get any of the pancakes in gluten free or get the pancake flight like I did if you want to sample multiple flavors! I think there is a gluten free French toast as well. Definitely join the waitlist before you leave the house if it’s a weekend!

Breakfast at Snooze on South Lamar was a real treat! I ordered the Garden Harvest Omelet, and it was a great way to kickstart the day. It was so fresh and flavorful, packed with veggies and topped with creamy avocado and the herbed cream cheese that added the perfect balance. The Rejuvenate Juice was bright and tangy, giving me that healthy boost I needed. But the real star was the OMG French Toast-hands down one of the best I’ve ever had, perfectly fluffy with that cinnamon-y crunch and drizzled in sweet decadence. Loved the friendly vibe here too; everyone was welcoming, and the service was attentive without being overbearing. Snooze is definitely on my regular rotation for a satisfying brunch in Austin!

Wow this was so good! The server made a mean cappuccino and they actually served them in clay mugs not plastic. It was my first time coming to give it a try and the manager Tim recommended that I try the Pineapple pancake, it was a slam dunk!!! Oh my gosh yall please do yourself a favor and check them out! I can’t wait to try the sweet potato one.

Snooze is pretty consistent, even in locations in multiple states. We tried the Sandwich I Am🥨, Pancake Flight 🥞, Shrimp & Grits 🦐, and Protein & Veggie Egg White Scramble 🥚. Drinks were the Mmm Mmm Mimosa🍹and the Boozy Strawberry Lavender Lemonade 🍋🌿. Our waitress seemed annoyed, but perhaps it had been a long morning. There's limited parking in the immediate area but free, which is nice.

We had the most amazing waitress! My dad is in the hospital and we are not from Austin. We looked terrible as we were sleep deprived and had been on the road traveling. She treated us like we had just stepped off the red carpet! My sister and I are both Celiac and she took time to explain how most every menu item could be made gluten free. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. The food was outstanding. But our waitress Fiona made the experience top notch!

We came on a Sunday afternoon and there was a little bit of a wait. Once we got seated, the staff was very kind. We ordered the corned beef hash, the pancake flight, and the pancake of the week which was the brownie pancake. Everything was delicious, except the brownie pancake lacked flavor, mostly tasting like peanut butter. Overall it was a good experience, I would come back just for the corned beef hash alone.

I would have given 5 stars for food to the Snooze Eatery located at South Lamar if it wasn't for the lack of attention in cooking eggs to order and their oatmeal comes sweetened with Agave Nectar, thus giving customers a no sweetener option, which for diabetics is no better than white sugar... bad stuff. For the atmosphere, I give three stars due to the loud rock style music ambiance while trying to converse. I don't frequent restaurants for the music and Rock music is not good background music as it makes customers feel psychologically rushed. For a $40 two person breakfast, my expectation is that the chef should know how to cook eggs per customer's request. I visited this location twice and both times I requested, "Over Medium" eggs. On the first visit, the three eggs came as , "Over Easy" with the expected runny yolks and lots of uncooked whites...not a very pleasant experience. I gave them a pass on this... On the second visit, I was more explicit as to my, "Over Medium" request and the server both agreed with my requested description and told me she would make sure the chef would follow the request. Well, this time the eggs were served, "Over Well". I might as well have ordered hard boiled eggs. This was even more disappointing. I prefer my eggs over medium, because the yolks are slightly runny enough to soak up with toasted bread or English muffins and all the egg white is evenly cooked ..."Over Easy" eggs can have uncooked runny egg whites closest to the runny yolk... This seems to be a trend where the breakfast chef's attention is on getting the plates out quick at the expense of the customer's requested preference.

Really enjoyed the Banana Bliss Vegan Pancake with maple syrup. I wasn’t a big fan of the tofu, it didn’t really have a taste. I also order hash browns and sautéed veggies. Good choice for brunch for vegan and non vegan people though!

My lovely boyfriend wanted waffles and said let’s go here. I love to always try new places seen it had some good reviews and a long wait when we arrived so I’m like ok must be 10/10. Yes!! It was all delicious.. food came out fast but the one thing is they don’t serve waffles which was funny! Not sure where he saw that but either way service was great, great ambiance with good music, and everything we ordered was so good, and would first recommend adding yourself to the wait list because they do not have reservations and on Sundays give about 1hr wait it’s well worth it!! I will definitely be back with my family.

I’ve been to Gyu-Kaku in Dallas and Denver and have always loved the experience, so I was excited to try the Austin location. The food was excellent. Fresh, well-marinated, and tender cuts of meat. We especially like the hanger steak. We ordered the 90-minute Ultimate all-you-can-eat. Unfortunately, our server disappeared for long stretches, including about 40 minutes toward the end — no check-ins and no check brought until we flagged someone down. Still a fan of Gyu-Kaku overall, but hoping the Austin location improves service to match the food.

We've always enjoyed eating here. But this place looks like a dump. If it looks bad on the outside, I don't even want to know what the kitchen looks like. We came in about 5:00. We waited 10 minutes for a host to even come to the stand. And then it was another 10 minutes before somebody even came to the table. Countless tables with food on them but nobody's sitting at them.

I usually try to be understanding when restaurants are busy, but unfortunately we had a very disappointing experience at Gyu-Kaku. During our visit, our server Almeda completely ignored our table for most of the time. We waited a long time just to get basic service, and eventually had to ask other servers for help with our food and requests. It felt like our table was simply forgotten. I do want to mention that the host was very nice and tried to help when we asked. I understand the restaurant was busy, and the host did what they could to assist us, which I appreciated. However, the service from our assigned server really affected the experience. Being ignored for most of the meal made the visit frustrating, and it shouldn’t be necessary for guests to chase down other staff just to get service. I hope management looks into this so future guests have a better experience.
