Amazing Barbacoa and beef tongue, tender and juicy. Best part it’s not crazy salty like most taco and BBQ, so maybe that’s why some reviews said no flavor. It is perfect!

The absolute best barbacoa and pastor tacos we have ever had! We come from 30 mins outside of Austin and let me tell you, we will keep driving that far! These owners know how to not only make solid food but have the ability to capture all the flavors each meat has to offer. A bonus, is that they make salsa that compliments very well with the meat and spices they use!

Want live music and good drinks? Say no more. This honky tonk has it all: live music, a patio, an array of beers and cocktails and classic dark, smokey, divey bar vibes. It can get pretty busy during love shows so be patient of you need drinks. I'd say, go back and order another one when you're halfway done with your current drink. Worth a visit to one of Austin's longest standing watering holes.

100% fun. We were visiting Austin for the first time and so glad we went. It was a Sunday night and this joint was hopping. I can’t remember the name of the house band but they were fantastic! It was quite the spectacle to see everyone two-stepping! It felt like a welcoming space—everyone was friendly and there to have a good time. It ain’t fancy, it was perfect!

If youre looking for low-key hole in the wall, good service and live country music, this is the place. Locals dancing to local musicians. Cold beers, and good music. I was there 730p-10p on a Wed. But music started 8pm with multiple bands thru out the night. I wanted to stay longer but had an early morning. thoroughly enjoyed the music and the people dancing at this little gem.

The bands that play here are phenomenal, delivering authentic sounds that make you want to hit the dance floor immediately. Whether you’re an experienced two-stepper or just watching from the sidelines, it’s impossible not to get swept up in the rhythm and vibe of the crowd. On top of the music, the drinks were excellent. The bartenders know how to mix strong, tasty cocktails, and the beer selection is spot on for a night of dancing and hanging out. Prices are very reasonable too, which only adds to the charm. Overall, The White Horse is more than just a bar — it’s an experience. Great music, great drinks, and an atmosphere that’s truly Austin. I can’t wait to go back.

I didn’t eat the food but it sure looked and smelled good and the locals on the back patio area seemed to be enjoying it. The live music was incredible - both bands! The dancing on Tuesday was SO much fun everyone takes it seriously (no drinks on the floor) and actually knows what they’re doing and people are so friendly standing around waiting to dance and just be friendly. I get creeped out really easily and everybody was so friendly. The bartenders and door guys were not as friendly as the people who were dancing around but that’s fine. It seems like a beer kind of place not a cocktail. The locals in the patio were also all so friendly and they had a Photo Booth and some games out there. Would totally come back my entire work party who showed up and felt very out of place ended up having the best time and feeling included by the end. Whoever the bands were on 8/12 rocked the house please pass along my compliments

We went early in the evening for the two step lessons. The place is cool, dark, and has lots of character. It's a great dive bar. We enjoyed the dance lessons as well as the live band that followed. Very casual, fun atmosphere. We got a Lyft there so we could drink, and they don't really have parking anyway, so consider a ride share to avoid the hassle of finding street parking.

Cute spot, the band was really good, the tacos outside are really yummy- I got the Al pastor (no onions) and veggie mushroom and potatoes. They were a good size and tasty. I would come back here with a group. It was nice that they had free entry before 7:30, but no re-entry after that time without paying cover charge.

Taco truck out back is amazing. Despite being out of a few things the alternatives were just as good. Margaritas on tap. Good outdoor seating. And the line dancing lessons were fun despite being crowded.

Only place we could find live music. There was a $10 cover. Was fun to watch the locals dance with one another.

The tacos and burrito at this place were decent, but really didn't have much flavor without the salsa getting added to them. I'm used to Al Pastor being packed with flavor from the marinade. It really improved from the orange salsa. The good part was the regular sized tacos were $3.50 and had a decent amount of meat. The regular burrito was only $11 and was quite large. There wasn't much meat, and she was filled mostly with beans, rice, and lettuce. The steak was all at one end and kept all the flavor there. The green salsa certainly made an improvement for the rest of it.

Lengua was good. Pastor was decent. After a dollar tip paid a little over nine dollars for two tacos. Other trucks in the area your getting three tacos for around that price and bigger tacos. Decent flavor but won't be back Appreciate the response and I hope your business and location continues to be a success

Tried this place out today. Ordered the gorditas. One chicken one al pastor. Severely disappointed. Why is it nearly impossible to find authentic gorditas in Austin? Nearly every place takes the lazy approach and just gives you essentialy two very thick fried corn tortillas and serves you essential a torta(sandwich) instead of a gordita. An authentic gordita is cooked on a comal then deep fried. You let it cool down then cut a slit in the top and with a spoon carve out all the excess maza(dough). You then stuff the pocket with meat, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese and salsa. And if your shredded cheese is melting, they are serving it too hot. This place just serves a steaming hot pile of goo. Not sure about the tacos, but stay away from their "gorditas" at all cost.

I used to love this place when I lived on the east side 2-3 years ago--I was ordering at least every other week if not more. Today was my last order. Quality has went way down and the service is iffy. Had to wait 25 min for order today and it was no bueno.

The food had no taste and my quesadilla was drenched in cheese barley had any meat on it and they forgot are other order of mini tacos wouldn't recommend if u want "good" Mexican food.

These are the greasiest tacos I have ever had. The barbacoa is like 80%fat. The Tortillas are soaked in oil and the flavor is not good either. Do not recommend this place. Maybe after partying they taste ok, but certainly not if you are sober.

Multiple friends got food poisoning here. Avoid at all costs - worst place in Austin.

The food was just disgusting. I placed a pick up order; wings, burrito and chips. The burrito meat tasted old/rotten. The chips were stale. Wings were a massive, soggy mush - 70% fried flour. You could not pay me to eat here again. I threw it all away, barely eaten. I am genuinely worried I may end up with food poisoning.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! These people don’t UNDERSTAND ENGLISH!!!! YOR ORDER WILL BE WRONG!!!
