Can not get enough!!!! Absolutely love this place it is so good. The chicken katsu sandwich was amazing as well as the bbq burger. Always have to get the fries. Even had the almond salad side and as always everything was the best.

Took the office to lunch here on a Wednesday afternoon, and the service was spectacular. Staff carefully took our orders and served the food effectively despite the crowd. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Sando; large portions, great sauce, fresh and tasty! Next time, I'll trade in the onion rings for their fries. Clean restaurant with plenty of seating and located right inside a shopping center, so there is more to do afterwards!

Very nice casual quick stop. Everything is thoughtfully prepared and perfectly seasoned. The kale salad was a pleasant and delicious surprise. Overall a great option in the neighborhood.

Really great place! I loved my sandwich. It was crispy chicken and juicy in the inside. The flavors were great and it was on a Hawaiian bun. The beans were awesome but the spicy sauce that came with it was even better. Our teriyaki chicken was great. I wish it had a little less sauce than it did but I feel like it wasn’t too much sauce. The staff were all really friendly and kind. They answered any questions we had and helped us decide on what to eat. The room is really open, not too loud but not too quiet. It was a good balance.

I have eaten at Zen many times and usually meet with a group of friends for lunch there. It is always consistent and very timely. They offer sushi pre-boxed in the open fridge in front and many bowls that are quite lovely. My favorites are the Mussels from Brussels and The Schoolgirl. I have a lot of friends who enjoy their burger selection and also their noodle selection. Their udon noodles look very legit and though I don't eat them, my friends who do really like them and say they are very authentic. I also really enjoy the Japanese style atmosphere and decor. The service is always consistent and they bring your meals out to table in an expedient manner. It's always fun to see what other people are eating also with the long narrow table in the middle when you have a large party. I think the seating style is something a lot of friends comment on as liking. If I was going to associate it to something, it would be a Japanese version of Texas BBQ seating! Anyway, Zen Japanese is a great place to eat and is always a solid choice for a meet and eat with friends. Give it a try and I'm sure you will agree!

I usually love coming here and buying food when me or my partner are too tired to cook after work. We love zen, and it’s nearby our house. We don’t eat meat or dairy, so it’s one of the few places around us with tofu/vegan options. Last Friday we ordered our usual take out, 2 tofu BYO, and 2 sides of Brussels sprouts. Brussel sprouts are halfway empty in cup, which is upsetting at how little it was but whatever, they are delicious regardless. First bite in I notice there’s meat mixed in on my tofu BYO order. Quickly, me and my partner search both our meals and find more meat pieces in both. We had to throw it all away and eat cereal for dinner. Very bummed since we usually love this place as a treat to ourselves but we don’t see ourselves getting Zen again.

Update as follows: Came by because last time,the meals we had were good. However today we left disappointed. We ordered a wagyu burger, fries & build your own bowl (chicken, Buddha veggies with vermicelli & Szechuan sauce). The fries came out first, then the runner brought out dish after dish, walking around trying to match with a person (they weren’t calling out orders either? Once the burger arrived, I dug in & noticed there wasn’t much chicken in my bowl, the meal was not spicy at all but salty with not much flavor. However, I did noticed udon noodles mixed in the bowl which was weird. I was sad there was no spice so I thought maybe they mixed the wrong sauce in? I went to the counter & asked for a side of the Szechuan and turns out the sauce in my bowl was correct, there is just no Szechuan peppercorn used in the sauce. Also, the chicken was rubbery & it was nothing but end bits. Later I told the counter guy my dish had different noodles mixed in and he just smiled and basically said ok, sorry about that but made no attempt to try and fix it. My bf ordered the burger and it had a lot of big pieces of lettuce in it, he said it was ok but that it was “missing a little bit of that necessary grease.” Maybe we went on an off day or the regular staff took a day off Idk, but it seems like some reorganization and fine tuning is in order, maybe even a revamp of the menu. 🫤 Original review below: We got a wagyu burger (not pictured) and the chicken katsu sandwich. In all honesty this place is GOOD. Friendly service, tasty food, lots of options, and the price isn’t too bad either. Worth a trip. I gave two stars because the tables are always sticky. Every single time I’ve been every table is sticky. Will change to 5 stars if I go in and have a non sticky table next time.

There were shrimp (cross contamination) in my chicken dish. Good thing I’m not allergic! I agree with another reviewer that the tables were sticky. It’s likely whatever wood cleaner they’re using. You order from a screen and the service is them walking the food to your table after calling your name. I won’t be back.

My family and I went here regularly, but today the service was terrible. The food was watered down. The portion sizes were smaller and they forgot a lot of our order or made it incorrectly. It seems like its quality continuously declines and it’s not worth the price. Some of the things are just not worth getting. I usually get the same order all the time and today the order was terrible. this is probably the last time I go. The rules on the kids meals keep changing the price of the drink changes. I don’t know if it was a race thing because somebody else got the same thing I asked for, but we didn’t get it so I don’t know.

If I could give zero stars I would, but I have to at least leave one star to write this review. Everything tasted great for the most part until I found a freaking staple in my mouth!!! There was a staple in the dolce de Leche cream in my crêpe!!! They offered me a $20 gift card, which I refuse because I am traumatized!! I will never eat there again! Also speaking to an attorney about this. I honestly have no idea if I ate anymore because there were walnuts in this too which is what was in my mouth along with the Dulce de Leche cream when I noticed something in my bite and spit out a staple!!! I guess I’ll find out sooner or later…. It’s very possible I could’ve swallowed additional staples. I can’t even imagine how a staple got in this, but finding a sharp metal object in my food was traumatizing to say the least. I obviously did not finish my food. —- I literally still have this in my fridge, waiting for them to respond, yet they have never responded to this. They obviously don’t take me seriously and think they have nothing to do with a staple in my food.

We got the school girl bowl with rice and salt and pepper shrimp with noodles. The shrimp was extremely deep fried and noodles were bland and the whole bowl was flavorless. Just felt like eating unseasoned cooked noodles with fried shrimp. The chicken bowl was very ok, it dominantly had the sauce flavor- probably aioli and the quantity of the protein seemed to be very less.
