While in Austin my friends and I went looking for some quality Texas BBQ for lunch. After checking out a place with a line longer than we could afford with a friend's wedding that evening, we ended up at Fiasco BBQ. I'm guessing they must not have had a line since they had to close at 1 PM for a private event, because the BBQ and service were incredible. The space is split into Fiasco BBQ (Walk-up window) and Dainty Dillo (Bar with an indoor area), with lots of outdoor seating between. There's lots of tree coverage and a nice view of the creek below, making a peaceful oasis in the middle of Austin. The staff were all very kind and helpful as well and were happy to have us. Even with them having to close early, they weren't pushy at all and made sure to give us plenty of time to eat and enjoy the place. Onto the BBQ. I got a half pound of brisket and was served a perfectly juicy and fatty cut. The brisket's bark had a nice bite from the rub they used as well. It was exactly what I wanted and while the sauce that came with it was great, the brisket was amazing by itself. I also tried out the potato salad, which is made with Greek yogurt, creating a light, tangy potato salad that was a great contrast to the brisket. One of our friends got the baked beans and raved about them as well. I wish they had a bit more side variety (The only other option was a cucumber salad) but they're clearly focusing on quality over quantity here. Overall this hit the spot and then some for us and I'm looking forward to coming back here whenever I find myself back in Austin!

We stumbled upon this little gem of a spot by accident and thank goodness! The bbq is a walk up window with outdoor picnic tables, tvs for games and a connected bar. The bbq was fantastic and the owner was a joy to talk to. 10/10 would love to visit again!

Bottom line, DREW IS THE MAN!! Our order took literally forever, and when we went to ask about it, he took the entire blame. Didn’t mention the fact they he’s the only person in the kitchen on a Sunday during March madness. Or the fact that he had a ton of orders by and no one to help him. This guy is the man! If he ever leaves, I’m hiring.

Brisket and turkey delish so far. Cannot wait to try the burger. Love that the potato salad was dressed in yogurt vs. mayo - fresh! Wings with bbq a bit dry and would love to try again with a crispy skin. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Delicious BBQ. Great mustardy turkey sandwich. Pork ribs that were tender but still toothsome in a good way and the taste reminded me of char-siu pork. Brisket very flavorful and tender but didn’t fall apart until you take a bite. Appreciate all the fresh herbs in the potato salad and the spice-laden pickles. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Fiasco is amazing. We have gone a few times for weekend lunch and did the Strangelove dinner pop this time- consistently 10/10 smoked chicken, turkey, and brisket, with really yummy veggie friendly sides to boot.

Great little local BBQ spot with a small stage and chill atmosphere. Eric is a super friendly host. Ask him about the pork belly cubes, they're literally to die for!

I wish I would’ve taken a photo. The Burger here is absolutely incredible. One of the best I’ve had in Austin, great smoky flavor and delicious sauce on it too. This place definitely needs to get more exposure because the food is incredible.

But the burger is a sleeper hit. Already one of the best burgers in town. Forget smash burgers! Everyone should be eating thick burgers like this one. They were sold out of quite a bit (thanks to Austin Eater article no doubt), but I can't wait to go back and try more. Hopefully the beef ribs will be available next time!

You should try the smoked burger, it's amazing but you have to get it before they sell out. The sides are also fantastic and fresh. Be careful in the food park there is lots of poison ivy around the fences. There are a few places with restrooms within walking distance, the portajohns onsite are a mosquito nightmare.
