Best gluten free pizza I've ever had! Excellent food and cocktails.
the food was out of this world!! next time we are in Staten Island this will definitely be a stop.
A very beautiful and chill atmosphere here! Two televisions line the bar area as well as two other dining areas ! One intimate area overlooking the bar and another larger dining area! The food here is exquisite and the presentation is also what sold me! Edible flowers on the 4 cheese pasta and thier lunch specials are actually insane and the food portions are generous 👌🏽 They are basically giving away food for free <3 10 out 10 will be back
Goodfellas is the number 1 trattoria in Staten Island. No restaurant compares 2 Andrew Scudera and Scot Cosentino's beautifully decorated restaurant in Great Kills. I moved away from SI in 2009 and dine at Goodfellas every time I visit my parents. Their sauces are authentic and passed down from generations. One of my friends who is a Pittsburgh PA judge went all the way there and enjoyed everything immensely. All because I told them to go there while visiting NYC. The owners are family oriented and love their business. They are number 1 in customer service and their pizza and entrees are all recipes from their family in Sicily. I only go 2 Goodfellas! I cannot wait 2 learn how to throw a pizza around when I attend their pizza making school. Totally worth 1500 for the classes. My parents own a restaurant 2 and I could cook every cuisine. My bucket 🪣 list is to throw a pizza around better than Andrew! Kind of difficult because Andrew is a better chef than Francis Garcia.
Goodfellas Pizza School is the real deal. The 4-day class wasn’t just a course — it was a full experience. From dough fundamentals to technique, workflow, and the why behind every step, I learned so much more than I expected. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely invested in their students’ success. And the restaurant itself is outstanding. I ate nearly everything on the menu, and every single item was excellent. The variety is impressive, the quality is top-notch, and it’s clear the food is being made by true professionals who care deeply about their craft. I’m beyond excited to take what I learned and start implementing it. If you’re serious about pizza and want to level up, this experience is absolutely worth it.
Always a great experience coming to Goodfellas, delicious food, great staff. Just amazing. I came here with my partner on New Year’s Eve and got a gluten free pesto shrimp pizza, he got the duck fat infused pork chop… chefs kiss ☺️ Our waitress Sheila B was a gem. Happy and blessed new year everyone ❤️
The best pizza I’ve ever had! The atmosphere was perfect, and I want to give my respect to our server. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name, but he took great care of us and made the experience even better. I’ll definitely be coming back.
They have vegan cheese which, for someone with alpha-gal syndrome is a huge plus. The grilled octopus appetizer was delicious with the roasted peppers, olives and arugula-salad greens with a balsamic vinegar drizzle. The service was impeccable: we sat at the bar but servers and the bartender were very attentive, polite, and efficient. The food was delicious and quickly served given the busy Friday night. My only criticism is that they still use plastic straws instead of alternatives, like Phade or (a lesser favorite) paper straws.
Love ❤️ love Goodfella's Pizza! They are THE BEST PIZZERIA IN NYC! They need 2 open one in Florida right away! My children miss their amazing owners and we cannot find any PIZZERIA that compares to their authentic Italian cuisine made from the heart. Their dishes are reminiscent of Italy! We crave their food every day and visit Staten Island often just to dine there every day before we go back home! They are number #1 in customer service and treats everyone like family! God bless everyone! We cannot wait to visit SI and enjoy your amazing cuisine. ❤️ jenNY C
Great food! And even greater service! I randomly decided to go to this pizza place that wasn’t too far from my house, I’ve heard great reviews and I knew I had to try it for myself with my daughter. Right as we walked in I was greeted with smiles and laughter, not to mention our waiter Dave was so cool and incredible! I will be recommending this place to all of my friends and family and will most definitely try this place again!
Wow..this pizza was excellent! Stopped for lunch with the family. Octopus, stuffed mushrooms and bruschetta for appetizers. Nice portions, fresh and tasty. Then the pizza! Balanced, light, crunchy..perfection! Definitely going back to explore the menu. Last but not least a Big thanks to our server. Friendly and attentive.
The appetizers were great got the stuffed mushrooms and baked clams, baked clams were a little on the saltier side. Lobster bisque was wonderful too. Pizza was the star of the show, got the vodka and smoking goodfella halves and it was extremely good. The service was wonderful, Kaitlyn was great and very helpful and the Owner Scott was an awesome guy, came to talk and check on us.
Listen, it’s only so often that you can find a company that cares about the food that they sell. I literally walked into this place before they close. They made me two steaks, a whole pizza and a whole pork shank. The food was so flavorful. I talked to the owner and now I’m gonna learn how to do what he does so I can take it back to my city. This is amazing place. Great people a great vibe hospitality on another level truly inspiring thank you so much for the food we loved it.
Updated: Another amazing experience. Very consistent food and friendly service. A few new pictures. We live around the corner. We have been here 3 times already. Most recently, we had an amazing experience with our friends. We sat near the ovens and the amazing sounds and smells of fresh authentic food is something I will never get tired of. We enjoyed some amazing pizza and appetizers. I couldn’t believe the hospitality and amazing staff who went beyond our expectations. We really appreciated the owner taking the time out of his busy night, to talk with us and share his history. I hope this review reaches millions and I promise you won’t be disappointed. Grazie
Anyone who thinks Goodfella's is just doing pizza is wrong! The pizza is fantastic, but my wife and I tried a wide array of items and they were all fantastic, from the pizza, to the porterhouse for 2 and the ravioli; every single thing was great. They also have my favorite local beer, Kills Boro on tap, and a huge bar with many TVs. Could definitely see myself stopping by just for a drink. Would recommend to anyone in the area looking for quality Italian food, brick oven pizza, or a night out at a nice bar with quality atmosphere. Andrew, the owner, is passionate about his food and it really shows in every aspect of the experience.
I happened to need parts for my bicycle and went to the Bike Shop. While there, I asked, where was a good place to eat? The technician just pointed his finger across the street at Goodfella’s. then he said he eats there all the time and the food is excellent. He went on to say the duck pork chops are amazing. So I took his advise to check out this place. My first impression was it has an old English pub vibe with various memorabilia and large screen TVs. But I wanted a sit down and have a restaurant experience so then walked into the adjoining dining room. I was welcomed by friendly staff. While looking around I could see and smell amazing pizzas on tables around me. Then I could see the stone turn table oven cooking more zzzs. I also heard another customer encouraging his friends to try the duck pork chops. Despite the two events calling to try the chops, I decided to go for a lighter Caesar Salad with salmon and Lobster brisket as the waitress said they too were amazing. She was so right. It was super fresh the home made dressing was fantastic, salmon cooked perfectly and went extremely well with their wine. I was impressed that the owner and even the cook walked around the dinning room to greet guests. I expressed my gratitude of the food, service by my waitress (mentioned her name to them) and my enjoyment of my dinning experience. I highly recommend going to Goodfella’s and will come back again. Next time I will try the duck pork chops. If you like my reviews, photos or videos then be a Good fella and chop the like button.
This place has quickly become one of my favorite spots on Staten Island. The atmosphere is great with a really clean modern bar, TVs for the games, and a lively dining room that makes it perfect whether you’re going out with friends or just grabbing dinner. The pizza here is phenomenal. The crust has that perfect crisp with a soft center and the ingredients taste really fresh. Every time I come here I end up ordering pizza because it is just that good. It is easily some of the best pizza on Staten Island. What surprised me the most though is how strong the rest of the menu is. The appetizers are excellent. The fried calamari was fresh and perfectly cooked and the mozzarella sticks were loaded with flavor. You can tell the kitchen really cares about the food they put out. They also serve great steaks which makes the place even better if you are going with people who want something different than pizza. The menu has a really nice balance between classic Italian dishes, appetizers, pizza, and steak options. The service has always been friendly and the vibe inside makes you want to stay for a while, especially if you are sitting near the bar watching a game. Highly recommend this spot if you are on Staten Island. It has amazing pizza, great appetizers, and solid steaks all in one place. Definitely worth checking out.
Pizza was cooked perfectly. It was thin enough to be folded, yet was still crispy in all the right places. Not soggy at all. They kept it warm for me while I went to pick it up in a small oven Had the regular pie and tje tuscan sausage one. Delicious.
Let's go!!!! Good fellas review starts now. We'll start with the decor, it doesn't seem like it but there's actually an open area in the back. There's a little place with a fire oven next to the parking lot, and there is a parking lot on the right side of the restaurant. But I see plenty of street parking too. It took a while for us to get seated maybe because of the weekday and it was a school day in the afternoon so I guess not much people eat at the time so they had fewer staff. But it was all good they sat us down once they got a chance and the server was very pleasant. Everything took a bit longer but we were enjoying ourselves chatting in the back and playing with lantern flies lol. There's mosquitos too so avoid that during the summer. The taste of the food is excellent. The pizza was not my thing though. I grew up in the 80s and the kind of pizza is just the simple toppings, and tomato sauce that's it for me. It might be good to someone else so no points off for that, it's just not my thing. The clam was very good, I love baked clams and these were fabulous. The lemon juice was just right and it hit the spot. The artichoke was a little off just because of the outside layer was no ripped off completely so I had to spit it out. Nothing to complaint about. Highly recommend anyone to try this place. Just some minor stuff I think they can improve on. Overall a good experience and I would definitely go again.
I heard of this place through YouTube and decided to use some of my very limited time in NYC to check it out. Apparently, the owner holds several world championship gold medals for his pies. I have no idea how these championships work, because I've eaten at other baker's that also claim to hold such a record but with a completely different style of the same dish. At the same time, my best pizza experiences are at places that have not participated in any from of competition. Confusing. Anyway, eating at Goodfellas was kind of a let down. Probably because I made too much of a hype over hit. Though it was nothing wrong with the pie itself, it was not worth the hustle going there all the way from Upper East. The starter (a classic caprese) was a disaster with low-end, store bought-feel mozzarella (not burrata) and unripe tomato. The venue itself was a classic American bar/restaurant, not very cosy. The service was friendly but not the most synchronized. Perhaps some of them are still undergoing training or something. To sum it up: if I lived in the neighborhood I might order from there sometimes, but given my current circumstances I won't return. Curiosity killed the cat, I guess.
The clam pie had huge pieces of raw garlic. I love garlic, but this was beyond too much. The fried Calamari was 70% purple legs. Guys love them, girls not so much. The lobster ravioli smelled and tasted overwhelmingly fishy and the sauce was nasty. We were a party of 12 and were sat upstairs. The service was extremely slow and lacking. The waitress disappeared for lengthy periods and did not keep us supplied with condiments and such. No s&p, grated cheese, red pepper, sugar and tiny amount of creamer. The coffee was about 6 hours old. From start to finish, we were there for over 3 hours. Ridiculous. Not sure what happened to this place, but it certainly has tanked 👎🏼👎🏼
