Kraken Coffee was wonderful! I went there 4 mornings in a row while visiting Avila Beach and ordered something different each time. Everything was tasty and the staff was very sweet and friendly. The bacon date scone and the cold brew were my favorite.

I ordered a mocha, it could’ve used a little more syrup and a little more sweetness but aside from that, it was good. The barista was very nice, and made a lovely little heart design on the top for me. Very polite very friendly. Definitely worth a stop here.

The American Southwest stole my heart, but Avila Beach was one of those places where I’d rather didn’t want to leave. Never. Drop me there and I’d never look back. Kraken Coffee would be the place I’d come every morning. Nah… wake up. I was just an hour and a half in Avila. But the cappuccino and ice cream were amazing.

Love this new coffee shop. Ice cream...bakery goods and coffee coffee coffee oh and tea! Love that they have oat milk, it foams do nicely. They also have almond milk. Nice view of the pier. A great place to work. #allergygirl

This review was was given solely on the basis of the atmosphere this place has. I literally didn’t order anything off their menu (I don’t drink coffee and already had breakfast) but I just loved how this place felt when you walk in the set up is really cool, being nautical but not too crazy, nice colours, great smell of coffee, and an upstairs seating area. 10/10 would totally work from this place if given the chance.

I loved the atmosphere of this coffee shop! We passed by it the night before when it was closed and decided to go there the next morning. There is s asmall upper floor with seating that overlooks the ordering station. You can also view the ocean right outside as well. Beautiful plants and octopus themed items. The paintings where some of my favorite parts. I tried their seasonal peppermint cocoa and found it lovely! I was also very pleased about the breakfast burrito. I often dont like when burritos have all the eggs shoved on one side and the potatoes on the other. This burrito was very evenly distributed, with a good flavor that was well balanced. Nothing overwhelmed the taste of anything else. I also liked their merchandise and ended up getting some ocean style coasters to take home with me. Staff was very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with them. Great spot for locals or travelers!

Great location across from the beach on the boardwalk. The lattes are rich and full of flavor. Highly recommend the breakfast burritos. The staff are very personable and knowledgable. There is plenty of seating in the lift area with an ocean view. Great vibe to work and hangout.

This spot wasn’t the easiest to get to with limited parking, but to be fair, it was a sunny Saturday so crowds were expected. The coffee and ice cream did not disappoint! We used to visit Kraken when they were in Pismo and were surprised to learn they’d moved, but luckily found them at their new location. Enjoyed a great view with my cup of coffee while wrapping up some work!

The cutest coffee shop right on the beach. The coffee is fantastic and they have an awesome space with ocean views upstairs that’s perfect for studying. I’m a huge fan of coffee shops and this one has the perfect vibe! If I lived here I’d be a regular. The new owners are very sweet and the employees are great too. I’ll definitely be back.

This coffee shop is a must-see, with smooth coffee and a very friendly staff. They make their own syrups, which causes the coffee to be fantastic and more organic. We highly recommend this place!

This place was soo cool and amazing. Great staff, food, drinks, and brand clothes. I got a ice matcha latte with vanilla syrup it was SO good very flavorful. I recommend coming here. The prices were very good for the item. Even has a second floor loft to sit and work. Everybody there was also so nice. It was my first time going there and most likely it won't be my last, im coming here whenever I come to Avila.

The best coffee shop in this area. There are several other shops, but this is your real cafe experience. There is a work space in the upstairs loft area, wifi and a pleasant work environment. It’s not too loud or quiet. The beach is right across the street ( video is attached) which I find to be refreshing and inspiring for my work. The coffee was delicious, I had a tuxedo mocha (half dark chocolate & half white chocolate) which was velvety, delicious and beautifully made. It was however a bit pricy for the area $7 for my latte, but that’s to be expected in this semi touristy part of California.

The nitro Hibiscus tea was sooo good! It was slightly sweetened and very refreshing. Also had a scoop of chai ice cream that was super delicious! I wish I tried their coffee. Next time! Super nice and helpful staff :)

The guy working here was really friendly and the view of the harbor is really awesome from the second story loft seating area. I would rate this a 5 star if there were a customer bathroom, which is quite a bummer but it is apart of my reviewing process. Also the matcha latte was made well, but the Chasen was not pre heated before whisking which seems to be a common practice. The bowl used to whisk is not cleaned after each use either from the looks of it.

This place is super cute. Kinda expensive. Cashier did treat me like I was from another planet, but I guess that’s the new norm. Vegan burrito was pretty bomb.

Came here a year ago was great, this year not so much. Reduced menu, out of burritos at 9am, only gf was a chocolate cookie. WiFi not working. So sad as a cute spot. Will not be back
