Authentic Thai restaurant with amazing customer service! The food is delicious and the staff are warm and attentive.
Delicious food, very impressed with the Sweet Sticky Rice with Mango as the mango was perfectly ripe. Pomegranate Lemonade appeared homemade which I wasn't expecting. Delicious Pad See-Ew which is what I always pick for comparison purposes - up there with the best I've had and mock chicken a great alternative option on protein. I'm sad we're only passing through as would return here again and again
Such Tasty Thai Food Very authentic Thai food. Very delicious and fresh. We ordered tom yum soup, duck panang curry, and chicken cashew stir fry. Everything was tasty. The steamed rice was piping hot. Satisfying meal for Asians craving hot food and I'm sure non-Asians too. Service was friendly.
Very tasty food! Ordered Yellow curry: has really good flavor. They use chicken breast so thank you for that. Chicken Pad Thai: has really good flavor. Good amount of protein. Definitely recommend this spot!
Always enjoy coming here with my girl friend for a date night. The food is always amazing and the staff is always helpful. Will always recommend this place for someone looking for amazing food.
We stayed one night at Bakersfield on the way to Kings Canyon during long New Year holidays. We went to this highly-rated Thai restaurant in town. It was a great choice for us to go for authentic Thai cuisine which we have not had for some time. Their staff are super nice and the cleanliness is top-notch. We ordered spring roll and deep-fried wonton stuffed with crab meat and cream cheese as starters. They were very fresh and crispy. The kids love them very much. We also had pan-fried pork and basil, Pad-Thai and crispy fried red snapper with three flavored chilli. They are all very good. The fried red snapper was our highlight for dinner. Highly recommended. The fried fish is topped up with Blue Elephant's fresh Thai chilli/pepper gravy sauce. The gravy sauce was so good and authentic. This place is highly recommended! we will come back again for sure. Its location is perfect for stopping by and having a delicious meal on the way to Yosemite. They open for breakfast/lunch/dinner.
All the curries here can be made vegan, and the server was knowledgable about the menu and veganizing things. My mom had the golden triangle and I had the yellow curry. (FYI their "spicy" is pretty hot.) I'd go here again for sure. Also, they have "mock chicken" which I believe is seitan based. It wasn't mind blowing or anything but they gave a very generous portion of it.
In A Nutshell: -Blue Elephant is a really good Thai restaurant. -If you are traveling through Bakersfield & in the mood for something that will satisfy your taste buds, then come grab a meal here. -I enjoyed their Eggplant w/ Chicken dish! -It's packed full of protein, eggplant & flavor. -Add the brown rice which pairs perfectly w/ it. Overall, this is a very good Thai restaurant in town.
Been here a few times and today we decided to try something different and it didn’t disappoint. We had the Tom Yum soup with chicken and it was so good and tasty. We also had the Pad Thai and Mongolian beef. Service and ambiance were great.
I’ve been coming to Blue Elephant for nearly 10 years, and they continue to impress every single time. It’s one of those rare restaurants where the flavors feel authentic, the service is consistent, and the food makes you want to come back again and again. Their menu truly has something for everyone — from the classics like Pad Thai (always a hit with family and friends) to the plant-based standouts that keep me hooked. Their vegan orange chicken is hands down one of the best mock chicken dishes in town: crispy, tangy, and just as satisfying as the traditional version. And of course, no meal here is complete without their mango sticky rice, the perfect sweet finish. Blue Elephant takes their craft seriously, and it shows. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or a meat lover, you’ll find dishes made with care and flavor that hits all the right notes. It’s become one of my go-to spots for sharing a meal that everyone enjoys.
We stopped at this place while traveling to vegas from sequoia and it didn’t disappoint us. We got chow mein which was the best. I got the curry sampler. I wanted to try all but I was a lil disappointed because red curry was spicy for my taste and I couldn’t eat that. I liked yellow curry and green curry. Best was mango sticky rice . The best and the mangoes were so fresh.
If you want an authentic Thai food, I would definitely say Blue Elephant is top notch in Bakersfield. I only took one photo of the food I ordered because once I started eating I just enjoyed it and totally forgot about my phone. The service was quick and the atmosphere was very homey. I will definitely go back for more.
Best Thai Restaurant in town! Authentic & delicious! The staff is friendly, all real Thai people and each dish is just great! We recommend Coconut Paradise, Fish 3 Way and the Pad Thai!
As ever, one of our favorite restaurants for any time of the day. It holds a lovely atmosphere, helpful, and friendly service, along with delicious food and drinks. Today we stopped in for a lunch. I had brown rice with tofu in Fresh Ginger. My sister had the brown rice with tofu in spicy cashew(?). These come with a house salad, which was crisp and fresh and a perfect spring roll.
Not a Big Thai food person…but I liked this. First time coming to Blue Elephant. We came because my mother wanted some Thai food so here we went. We got a bunch of stuff. I won’t lie. I’m not really sure what we got. A bunch of it was seafood. Im not really a big seafood person but what we got was good! Whatever that Hit Pot soup stuff was…it was awesome. I definitely recommend trying the Thai beer. They only had 2 options and they were both pretty good. We ordered too much food that we didn’t have room for the mango sticky rice (highly recommended I hear) something to look forward for next time. If your a Thai food person. This place is great!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟Took pictures to late due to how delicious it was, the service & the food is AMAZING !! One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to in quite some time. Check them out and enjoy ! Nice comforting vibe. We got the green tea/Thai tea/ Tom kha/ pad Thai/ sake hot/ chicken and herb with tamarindo sauce/ yellow puff & banana honey with coconut ice cream.
We had a stopover while heading back home from Vegas. It’s a neat nice place to have a nice sumptuous meal with mild bursting flavors . We had spicy fried rice, drunken noodles and Kao Sai noodles. Arrived hot and flavorful for our hungry palletes. Recommend this Place highly if you wanna refresh with Thai flavors amidst of fast food road trip.
Excellent, high quality Thai food with very friendly service. We had a large party of 8 and ordered a variety of dishes and drinks. Everything arrived in a timely fashion and was hot and delicious. The orders were correct and the server was very attentive to our needs. We were all very pleased and I highly recommend visiting Blue Elephant 🥳
So glad that we stopped in the food was great and so was the service, we shared the pineapple fried rice with chicken and shrimp reminded us of the last we were in Thailand. Also shared the Blue Elephant Cha Cha which was sole with vegetables in a millionaire sauce, it was exceptional. Art the waiter was awesome.

One of the best Thai foods I used to live in Bakersfield and I decided to visit friends.

If you’re driving through Bakersfield like we were, you should stop! This place is Incredible! Our server TK was absolutely amazing, kind, attentive and very fast. The food was delicious, and they even gave us an extra white rice that I very quickly scarfed down. If you want some Thai food in Bakersfield, as far as I’m concerned, this is the only option.
This is one of my most favorite Thai restaurants and I like the fried shrimp rice with chicken pate. Their drink and beer selection are amazing. Always enjoy our dine in/take out experience here.

Great tasting food. I had the Beef Pad Thai, my two friends had the Chicken Pad Thai. They also had Spring Rolls. Service was through Uber and was good. There was no ambiance because we ate at home. The reason for the four stars instead of five is two fold. First the prices are not reasonable. $90 for three meals and eight spring rolls. While the food is very good, the serving sizes are not worth the price. $24 for 8 Spring Rolls is ridiculous. They were actually smaller than the egg Rolls you get at Panda Express. Second, The Blue Elephant send our food in an open bag, and the containers of Spring Rolls were open. That is completely unacceptable. At no time, should a delivery person be able to have ready access to a person's food. If the bag is to small to seal, use two bags. Overall the experience was good except for those two issues. Will I eat the food there again? Yes. Will I order the food on Uber or Doordash? Absolutely not. Not because of Doordash or Uber messing up, but I do not want my food left open for any person to access. I do recommended their food, but not through delivery.
I had higher expectations from this restaurant because their ratings were so high. As you know I'm a very hard critic though. I will say that their blue crab fried rice was delicious and met my expectations. The green tofu curry was pretty tasty as well and had a gradual spice that even a mild spice tolerant person can handle. Customer service on the other hand was absolutely terrible. Given, we only talk to the hostess because this was a takeout order. Upon entering she rudely asked us what we were there for and once we told her it was for takeout she pointed to a table and mumbled, "This is empty, so your order is not ready." She didn't even ask our names or order that we had ordered online. How are we supposed to know that ask empty table means our order isn't ready? Especially when we've never been there before. So we ended up standing there awkwardly until another guy came out and directed us to a place to sit. The takeout calamari was average tasting. I just wish that they gave you more for your money.

The food was very good and our waitress was very nice. It makes it hard with such a language barrier that they don't understand what you're asking for... All in all , it was a very nice meal. It would Be great though, If if a server would take the time to wait for you to answer the question of " How is everything? Is there anything else you need?" In fact , we went twice within seven days with different sets of friends. ALSO, The AC air blew almost the whole meal and made the food cold faster...also made some of us very , very cold...
I had the Tom kah soup and a side of coconut rice. I love this soup! I ordered the bowl and it was enough with the side of rice for a nice lunch. It is on the pricey side, though. I ordered my items for takeout and they were packaged well. The restaurant is spacious and wasn't noisy during the lunch hour. Service was pretty quick (10 minutes for my order) and the staff were super friendly.

I was excited to see that they have Hainanese Chicken Rice on their menu. Thailand have their own chicken rice with either steamed chicken or fried chicken. The sauce is dark brown with a lot of ginger. Unfortunately, this was different. And it is not exactly the Hainanese version either. The rice doesn't have enough chicken broth flavor. Depending on how much time I have here in Bakersfield, I may try this place again for the standard Thai menu, but for now, it is not authentic Thai flavor.
Second time here. The tum yum soup was awesome the last time, but yesterday, it was awful. No vegetables and only tiny mushrooms and big chunks of tomatoes! Not going back.
Food: in general it’s not bad, but definitely a room to improve. The tom yum soup is our favorite. The drunken noodle isn’t spicy as we thought and so did the Mongolian beef. The seasoning seems not enough and the beef is quite hard to chew as well. The portion and the price doesn’t really match. Service: the staff is nice and helpful. We saw how they recommended dishes for the other table. Ambiance: it’s a very small restaurant but nicely decorated and clean. Not for big party for sure.

Me and my boyfriend always order food from here through Uber eats but decided to place a pick up order since our favorite menu item was taken off the Uber Eats menu. Their food was amazing no problem there but what was the issue is that I had paid $46 for two soups and a Thai tea which is a crazy price. We didn’t mind paying since we always have leftovers anyway and eat those the next day. But this time around when I received my soups, the containers were less than halfway full. There was barely any noodles given to us, and we finished our soup still feeling hungry. And I know the portions have gotten smaller since I ordered from here often and always have leftovers. We used to pay $18 per soup and they decided to raise the price for them and also make the portion smaller,???? which makes no sense to me. Stop being greedy and give the people what they’re paying for stop skimping us out!!! Will no longer be coming back until this issue is resolved.

I do not recommend coming here. They have small portions of rice and they charge for it on the side. More egregiously, it is cold 3/4 of the bowls you get. Their Tom Yum is minimal and salty, and tastes like vinegar. It truly does only include protein, white mushrooms, tomatoes, and chili for $17. Their vegetarian eggplant came out piping...warm. Disappointingly lukewarm. But their portion was okay and the flavor was good. The star is for this. However, it came out much later than the other dishes we ordered. We had to try 4 tiny bowls of rice for it to finally be hot. To ask for hot rice 4 times is surprising in a mid range or mildly expensive Thai restaurant. My green chicken and eggplant curry with *plural* eggplants in the description was quite literal with two pieces of eggplant for the curry. My picture is after eating the first and sad about my fruitless search for at least a third. It was poorly incorporated in the curry. We expected more for how much they were charging $17-19 per dish and were very disappointed. We used to come here pre Covid and during Covid and it went downhill since apparently.
How on earth does this place have positive reviews? I had the curry sampler, the curries were watery, flavorless, and seemed to have been made hours ago and just sitting around. My partner had the eggplant, it was mushy and like panda express quality. Also SUPER weird and off putting, throughout our meal, the waitress walked around filming/taking photos of the restaurant? No explanation, just like, photographing everyone wordlessly.
I’m done going here. Your food is good, but your prices are getting to be too much. Your portions are also too small for me to pay a higher price point.
I was disappointed with the quality and service here. I eat Thai food often and my favorite thing to get is Tom Kha. This soup had very little coconut milk, no ginger, no lemongrass, no lime leaf. I was served a mystery broth probably from a powder or paste. When I talked to the owner she was very rude and unhelpful saying since she “was from Thailand” (and I was not) she knew the “authentic” recipe. I definitely will never return there.
DO NOT order delivery from here. Used to love this place. Was it a bit pricey? Yeah but the food and the portions were good. Now they have the audacity to charge the same amount for literally half the portion. Food still taste great, but I don’t want to pay $16 for a kids meal
