Went for a late lunch today at 1:00 (they close from 2-5) and were so happy to be seated immediately a party of 3. As per usual the service was attentive and the sushi was fressshhhh! We ordered the Love Fire roll, Yellow tail sushi and we each had our own shrimp tempura roll with masago on the side. Today we visited again and I. Captured some video today. Such a joy on the palate. You should check it out if you haven’t already. You won’t be disappointed ❤️🔥
⭐️ Big 5-Star to food Quality ! See pictures of some great Asian. Food. Dessert macaroons were Amazing and the Green Tea one was highest Quality Green Tea Ice cream ever ! Enjoy this place! Dining space limited so it does go through peek times of having to wait. 😍 🍣 🍱
Had lunch with family, as soon as we entered the place we were greeted and seated immediately by a very friendly, hospitable staff, lots of customers. Our inquiries with some of the menu were answered and our orders were served in acceptable time. Very delicious meal, with very nice presentation. Exceeded our expectations in all aspects. Definitely come back and recommend to friends.
The food is fantastic, portions are plentiful and the servers are always great. The atmosphere is very relaxed yet fun. I've had a great experience each time I go. But please pay attention to the hours of operation. **There are a few hours break in between the lunch and dinner hours.**
Enjoyed lunch with my kids today. Miyoshi's new poke' nachos is amazing. Along with love fire and chicken fried rice. The Chefs and servers were amazing.
Great sushi all around. Everyone was so polite and welcoming. It's a bit small inside but not too crazy. I highly recommend coming here. You'll love it!
Miyoshi Japanese Restaurant is a delightful spot for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine. The garlic edamame is a must-try; it's perfectly seasoned and makes for a flavorful start to the meal. The teriyaki chicken is tender and juicy, with a deliciously rich glaze that will keep you coming back for more. Their California roll is fresh and expertly crafted, offering a balanced blend of flavors. And the miso soup is warm, comforting, and full of umami goodness. Each dish at Miyoshi is a testament to their commitment to quality and tradition. Highly recommended for a satisfying dining experience! 🍣🥢
Great find!! The portions are large so myself & my husband were able to share our dinner. We ordered the Sushi chefs choice + Chicken Teriyaki dinner with a salad. The salad was perfect to share and the dinner had so much food! The sushi was fresh and we were able to perfectly cut each piece in half to share.
I’m from Las Vegas and we have good sushi but this was some of the best sushi I have ever had. From what I had the sushi was just as good as my grandmother’s favorite place that she has been going to for over 10 years. My dad and I sat outside but they set it up so that there was minimal wind and had heat towers. The food was great, the atmosphere was nice, and the service was friendly and kind. Ten out of ten would recommend.
On our way to a concert at UCB we stopped by and the place was packed, so we ate at the bar, we had the dragon roll, sashimi deluxe, miso ( can’t leave with out it) and a scallop roll…. Delicious and nutritious….taste like, you know it taste good
Really nice place to go and have dinner with a date! Ordering from the menu was a bit tricky if you don't know what you want lol I recommend getting the California roll combo with salmon <3 They also have some imported beer that tasted pretty good! would go back anytime! maybe with more family members too just to show them the place

Quaint little spot with delicious sushi rolls and apps. They get a bit busy so don't forget to make a reservation.
"I expect better quality from a sit down/take out family run restaurant." "We usually order Broccolli Beef, Sweet and Sour Chicken, and Fried Rice."
Our favorite sushi place in town. Very friendly chefs and staff. Sushi is usually extremely fresh.
The best baked mussels in town. We have them with nigori sake from Berkeley. American sake is the best.
First time dining here. Clean, very friendly, relaxing atmosphere. Food was served nicely arranged. Delicious Japanese beef and smooth, tasty fried rice.
Amazing food for sure. Many reviews will tell you otherwise...as in the stuff they usually get is not that great but good. Here is a useful tip: order stuff you have never heard of and try the yellow submarine for sure that is my fav, and it keeps me coming back for more
First time here and we really enjoyed it. The reviews are spot on. The sushi is delicious and the service is wonderful. This will be our go to in B-town!!
We had our first experience enjoying sushi in Santa Cruz this July, so when we arrived home the first thing we did was to look for a sushi resaurant locally. We found Miyoshi had 4 stars so we passed three other sushi restaurants closer to our house to see what 4 stars tasted like. We were seated as soon as we walked into the restaurant and the waitress, Yuki, was a delight. She listened to what we had in Santa Cruz and helped us custom make our own roll. It was delicious-our thanks to their chef Andy. We will probably become regular customers. I am vegetarian and my husband of 44 years this September is vegetarian by default, so it is nice to have found a wonderful restaurant where we can have an excellent meal.
For Bakersfield, it is the best sushi. Fish is as fresh as it can possibly be. I love the service and everything I order is tasty. I order out a lot and they always get the order right. Kudos!
I've been to at least seven sushi places in Bakersfield and this one is the best by far. Absolutely amazing service and the food was excellent. Can't wait to go back
Staff is great and the food is authentic. Small space makes for a cozy/family like experience. Food is delicious. Miyoshi roll and Chicken Karage are my favorites here.
Best sushi place in town! Everything is bursting with flavor and the menu has very unique choices. Service is great and the atmosphere is cool.
No other place like it! Everything is truly wonderful. The staff is friendly and the sushi chiefs will go off menu, if you have personal likes. A must visit!
This place was fantastic!! Food was delicious, waitresses were friendly and prices were reasonable. Andy was beyond awesome and saw to it that our experience was top notch! Looking forward to coming back...
Best sushi chefs, Andy and Ken! All the staff are excellent! Food is always very fresh, delicious and well-prepared. Our favorite sushi place in town.
One of the best, overall, Sushi restaurants in Bakersfield we've found since moving here in 2019. Staff is very attentive and helpful. ❤️
The food was STUPENDOUS ☆☆ had A LOTof flavor really fresh it was so good we reordered seconds!! even our grand kids reordered seconds our grand kids loved it♡♡♡ the serves was great we are the biggest sushi carnivores for this place
Great customer service atmosphere was grate Angela, put me on game on what to order. Thanks, appreciate it so much. I'll be back soon!!!
I love this place ! This will always be my sushi spot . Amazing workers really help ful to explain if it’s your first time
This place is really loved. The food was great, next time I am in town again on a business trip it will be on my todo list. A real conservative Japanese restaurant.
Delish!!! Garlic edamame, uni, tako, Bluefin tuna, Love Fire roll and Fantasy roll. Excellent service, always so friendly!!!
Bakersfield roll is amazing. Best quality sushi... authentically prepared. Friendly family based business. Love it!
Absolutely delicious. ..I was brought here by a coworker while visiting bakersfield. This Is my second time and the experience is the same as the first. ...just simply amazing
I love it all to the Gyzona and the veggie fried tempura also with some delicious miso soup. The staff was very kind to me
Wow!!!! Some of the best I have had.... in Bakersfield??? A tru 💯 gem. Special shout out to the Tokyo Roll. I swear they caught the salmon that morning. :)
I loved it, the best service and and awesome flavor. Definetly the best place to eat sushi ever! 🤩🤩🤩
It’s really good. Everything is good.
Fresh sushi made in front of you if you want to watch and get the seat in front of the sushi chef. Good quality and more than fair price.
I've been eating here for over 20 years. It's one of my favorites not only because of the great sushi but because of the awesome people who work there.
I had the las vegas roll the baked salmon roll and the rock and roll..I also had some chicken fried rice and it was all super yummy and delicious!!
The Best in town. Great service. Best rolls. Everything is always so fresh. They have been the most consistent restaurant my wife and I have ever dealt with in Bakersfield. You will not be disappointed by picking Miyoshi's.
I love this place. I eat there once a week. The sushi is the best, the staff is wonderful. I miss going in and sitting down and visiting with everyone. Looking forward to being able to do again soon 😊
Great place. I've been a long time fan of Tokyo Garden and Miyoshi is the same owner and in a lot of ways like a second location. The Sushi here and at Tokyo Garden is by far the best in Bakersfield. I've tried almost every sushi place in town and even ventured outside of Bakersfield in a quest to find good sushi. By far, you can't get much better than this. One detail I love is that they don't put some mayonnaise / imitation crab meat slurry in their rolls. Next time you go somewhere and order a roll that has crab meat in it, take a look and you'll notice that it's not sliced peaces inside but instead it's a bunch of mayo mixed together with finely minced crab meat and stuffed inside there. Not here and not at Tokyo Garden. For me it's the little details that matter and this place does it right down to the smallest fraction.
I have literally had sushi everywhere including Japan. Myoshi is my all time favorite. I love many rolls and sushi there but the yellow submarine just has something about it. Very friendly staff, I love Andy, Ken, Yuki. Great place and great people.
No fads or gimmicks like sushi time or love sushi, every roll isn't slathered in mayonnaise and spicy sauce, and they don't try to achieve some weird combination of Mexican food and sushi and upcharge you because "fusion." Just a nice, unassuming, reasonably priced sushi restaurant with really good food and service. I've been eating at Miyoshi for 16 years and I really enjoy their quality and consistency.
This place is one of my favorites. They have everything you'd want from a sushi spot and more. I love their shrimp fried rice, their soup, salad, yellow submarine, and so much more. This place is more than 5 stars.
The service was fantastic. The sushi was delicious. First time trying seaweed salad and it was yummy! We had salads, a soup, and a couple rolls for around $50. The place is small and cozy.
Wow what a pleasant surprise!!! In town for work and I am blown away everything tastes so good and thought out the sauce on the rolls is perfect not over bearing. Even my favorites were better here than even expensive places in LA. Definitely a must! Fish is so fresh and tasty!!!!!!
My father LOVES ❤️ the chicken fried here. It's so delicious with their teriyaki sauce. I love their shrimp 🍤 tempura & salad. Shrimp rolls are delicious. The sushi 🍣 is wonderful. The ice cream sandwiches are great for a tastey dessert 🍨. Prices are a bit on the high end on some items, but I think it's worth it. This place is nice & cozy & the staff is friendly. The cooks are great & I have never been disappointed at any of the menu items I've chosen there. The hours take some getting used to, but no big deal now. From 11 am to 2 pm for lunch & then they open up again around 5 pm. I believe for dinner till closing time. It's well worth stopping by for a bite to eat. It's different from just other sushi places that only do sushi. It's why my father loves to order the chicken fried rice 🍚. Don't forget to try the macaroon style ice cream sandwiches & plenty of flavors to choose from. I give them 5 stars 🌟 cause it's the perfect little spot to grab some great food 😋... Hurry up & stop on by. Tell em.. I saw this review & just had to try this place out. You won't be sorry thats for sure. ✌🏽out.
My Wife and I had wonderful service; It seemed like everyone working welcomed us in, the server was very polite and refilled our drinks as needed. The portion of the food is definitely worth the price and has lots of flavor. The seating area is small so it will get crowded very fast. This business should definitely upgrade to a larger space if possible. Very good food and service, my Wife and I will come back frequently.
This is such an amazing restaurant. Food is fresh and delicious. Atmosphere is relaxing and cozy. Service is awesome feels very welcoming and like family. One of the reasons I love Bakersfield!
The main restaurant that this one came from, Tokyo Garden, has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. Their new branch locations are just as good with a slightly smaller profile. Great great great food!
Great Sushi and phenomenal staff
Very friendly staff. Food was delicious. We can't wait to go back. We got the Tokyo Boat ($80) with the Beef Teriyaki and a Sunset Roll. Menu was different than what Google showed us.
BEST sushi in town. Took our family of six for dinner. Good miso and seaweed salad. Albacore sushi was just okay tonight, but the spicy tuna roll and yellow submarine rolls were very tasty. Yellow submarine roll is a family favorite. Good quick service, friendly waitresses...a good experience as always
The food is crazy good!! The sushi rolls are edible works of art and Angela is the best! She greets us like family and always remembers our favorites! Highly recommend!!
I don't know about the people that have left bad reviews because I've had nothing but consistent excellent service for six years now. My husband & I have never gotten sick, and we love the raw stuff. We also haven't had issues being seated when it's always just the two of us. I'm also a very picky eater and always make a bunch of changes, i.e. no green onions ever, and no cucumbers on certain roles. Even so, the requests are done and our service remains positive & pleasant. On occasion, green onions will be on our roles and have to be returned. The rolls come back onion free, and the service is still good without decline. This place is actually responsible for getting me hooked and addicted to sushi because I never liked it before. The winning roll that started it all was the popular Yellow Submarine. I order one every time I eat sushi and now order other items - depending on what mood I'm in as to what else I want to eat. So, for the six years of great service and excellent sushi, I give this restaurant 5 stars. Keep up the good work.
100% hands down, BEST Japanese restaurant in Bakersfield. They have the best rolls, dinner combos, and even better service! My husband and I look forward to coming here EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. This place is small but mighty!
The world makes sense again. Myoshi is back open for outdoor dining. I drove past last night and saw people sitting on the patio. I couldn't stop thinking about it all day. And of course they exceeded expectations. Service and food were off the charts. Visit soon and visit often. You won't regret it.
Amazing food at good prices. The staff is very pleasant to talk with. They were able to answer any questions I had. I would recommend trying them out at least once if you have not.
My first time and I wish I had taken pictures. The waitresses were so good. I ordered "The Thing" and it's heavy on the mayo but still pretty good. I also ordered "Blooming Onion Albacore" and that was a huge hit, but my wife ordered the "Love Fire" and that rocked!!! Order the fresh wasabi, ot pairs great with the Blooming Onion. My apologies on no pictures. Next I will.
This is a wonderful, authentic sushi restaurant. Yuki was our server for our party of 17 people. She was attentive, kind and quick with our dishes. Highly recommend this place and their wonderful staff.
I’m based in LA but when I work in Bakersfield, this is my go to sushi spot. Great sushi and awesome chefs and staff.
I've only eaten here twice, but it has been good both times. So fresh and delicious. I recommend it to all my friends when they come to Bakersfield.
The best sushi in Bakersfield and amazing customer service!!
We go here relatively often it has some of the best sushi in town. Theyre consistent and the food is always fresh. The staff is always friendly. Its kind of smaller on the dining side but they definitely accomidate I've gone here with a party of 6 before.
We’ve been here several times and the experience is always excellent. The food never disappoints, and Yuki is an amazing server—so friendly, welcoming, and fun to chat with. We always leave happy and can’t wait to come back!
This is my favorite restaurant. I moved to Tennessee and no longer can eat here, but you can't go wrong with Miyoshi. When I come back to visit Bakersfield, I will be going here for every meal my family will allow, and then some.

Food was amazing. Service was also awesome. The setup inside is a little crowded when sitting at a table and the bar also has people. Lots of people bumping into you.
This is my go-to for Sushi because they're not sauce heavy like other places in town. Maybe it's what I ordered, but I feel like they've gone heavier with the sauces lately. Service is always top notch. I ordered the Tokyo roll and a crunchy shrimp roll. Tokyo roll was drowned in sauce and warm, which I wasn't expecting. The crunchy shrimp roll had a bit of sauce, but still too much for me. I prefer no sauce. I'll ask on next visit. The spicy tuna hand roll is always delicious.
Tasty Japanese food place here in town. Bento boxes are nice, Udon is tasty, Chicken fried rice is the bomb, and their sushi is always fresh! Staff is friendly and attentive and restaurant is clean.

Food is OK big portions but too crowded people knock into you walking by
It was a very nice impromtu dinner with old friends. Yuki and Sing were awesome. Food was great, we really had a great time.
Definitely one of the top sushi restaurants in Bakersfield, Miyoshi is a small, decently priced Japanese restaurant with very well done sushi rolls. Because of the popularity of the place and the number of tables, there can be an extensive wait during peak hours. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The rolls tend to be very large so be careful about over-ordering.
This place was pretty good, I won a family meal and I couldn't say no to sushi. Some of the sauces were a little overwhelming but the quality of the salmon and tuna was pretty great. The miso soup was perfect.
Love this place and the unique rolls the offer. probably the best sushi around. The sashimi is fairly fresh most of the time. They offer the standard japanese beers, which is a must-have with sushi. Pricing is moderate, for sushi, so don't expect discount prices here. Haven't tried the bento boxes or other dinners, but seem to be popular with other diners. The place is on the smallish side, so oftentimes there is a wait.
We had lunch at Miyoshi, and the food was good , fairly priced. The service was excellent. I had the teriyaki chicken lunch big portion.
The food is always good quality and delicious. The service is great and the staff are always friendly We ordered the tempura beef platter. There is enough food to share for two, or take home for another meal.
The food was ok. It was our 1st time going there and probably our last time. The food was ok but not memorable. The only thing we kind of enjoyed was the eel lover's roll and the baked mussels. The staff was great but the food didn't tickle our taste buds. Try it out for yourself at least once to verify.

We have many friends that eat here. My wife hates sushi so I haven't had the chance to try it for.
Hate to give it such low review when everyone seems to love it here. It’s just ok, decent but not good or great at all. Spicy garlic edamame were blah, not bad per se but the worst I’ve had. Shrimp hand roll had no shrimp and when I asked about it they told me their shrimp was mixed with krab. Huh? They why do you advertise as shrimp? False advertising. Salmon sashimi was nothing special, fish didn’t have that delicious taste a good salmon sashimi will have. I would not recommend. Might be great if you don’t l le better.
The hand roll cones are unique and good. Two house rolls ended up one good the other not to my taste. The place is small, so a big group would be cramped. Great for couples.
First time here for a friends bday dinner. She had been here before. Very welcoming. Everything looked clean. Server brought our drinks. I noticed something move on the chair next to my friend. Nice medium size cockroach. My friend swatted it yo the floor and smashed it. Yes, we still ate our food. It was really good. I won't be going back though.
It’s ok at best. Everything came on a California roll and the garlic albacore roll had the texture of it being pushed through a meat grinder. The service was great and friendly and fast but I probably won’t be going back.
The staff were and the presentation was fun. Unfortunately the sushi was not very good. I ordered a crunch roll and expected the standard cut up priced of fish in it but it was like ground raw fish instead making the texture very unpleasant. One of my friends said their sushi didnt taste fresh.

Just walked in and left with in 10 min. Plenty of tables open but couldn't be seated unless 3 or more. They wanted my coworker and I to wait untill a small table was available. We left, hungry and dissapointed. When we notified the manager, we were brushed off and told that is policy.. I guess they think 3 or more potential customer is better then 2 ready to eat customers.
1...2...3... Strikes and you're out. My girlfriend and I are from Phoenix, AZ, and this was hands down the most disappointing sushi we have ever had. Despite all the great reviews, miyoshi failed to deliver on any front. From the interesting (to put it nicely) service experience to the food, we were disappointed. We only ordered basics, and they failed there, making us afraid to try one of the more expensive rolls. First strike: Miso soup 0 out of 5 : Tasted like brine water that was left to reduce all day... Missing ingredients and even spoons. Second strike: California roll 1 out of 5 : seriously, how do you mess up a cali roll? Its krab salad, cucumber and avocado... Rice was not cooked right and ingredients were bland and almost tasteless. Third strike: Spicy tuna roll 1 out of 5: again, rice fell apart and pretty tasteless. Summary: Every restaurant we have tried is AZ has been better. Would not recommend. Seriously, it was bad...
I went in a few days ago. It was my last day at school, decided to treat myself to something good. This was also my second time experiencing Japanese food and the first was at sakura buffet on ming three years ago. I went in and there was only two people there eating. I had their 12 dollar "special" with beef and four sashimi sushi "rolls". I didn't like it at all. The beef tasted old and had a lot of fat. The sashimi rolls were warm and the noodles were plastic-y. After I ate about half of the plate I felt queezy. I thought I was going to be sick, but I didn't get sick fortunately. I'm never eating there again.
Terrible food..Extremely high prices for the small food you get. I paid $25 for lunch😱 (but wanted to try out). Got lots of rice & very little shrimp & coke for my $25. I won't be back, & don't recommend ☹.
This place gave me food poisoning. I saw the reviews for Miyoshi's and decided it would be a good fit. About 4 hours after eating at Miyoshis I threw up intermittently for about 3 hours afterwards. The food was good when I ate it; Though the Albacore did taste a little fishy (should have taken that as a sign not to eat it). The staff was unprofessional. The selection of food is average. I would not recommend this Miyoshi's or any of it's other locations to anyone. Which is a shame.
Not at all traditional reguler white rice not stick rice or Jasmin. And who puts potatoe salad and pickle cucumber, carrots on the plate. Chicken was hard and on a top of Chinese cabbage. Beer was warm I will not go back and expensive. On Manu you get the same witch was shrimp and veg tamp. With teriyaki chicken for 16. For dinner 24. Not at all for me will not return.
