By far the BEST tasting Colombian food from lakeland to St Pete especially for the price chicken is better from Polloi a la Brasa Marios in Orlando but must have changed owners and the place is not the same !
Great food. This is where I usually bring Verizon executives to eat when they visit the Tampa call center. Nice people, down to earth. No California , elite or liberal presumptions here.
Came to Mi BANDERA Restaurant to celebrate my birthday 🎂 had such an awesome server Claudia, took my order just right will share my experience with family n friend from up north to come here when they visit FLORIDA..The Best food in TAMPA 😊👍
Food was excellent. Service was good. A little pricey. Had the combination fajitas for $18. Very tasty
They went out of their way to thoroughly answer our questions and get our order right! They were also extremely friendly! Excellent experience! 😊
The best place for colombian food in town; affordable prices, gorgeous good service oriented waitresses, their variety of food is deliciously addictive 😋 If Mickey D motto is "I'm loving it" then this place's motto must be "I'll marry it forever". Lol😆
Excellent food very fast and nicest ever met people serving you. Will definitely go back again.
Best Mofongo ever!!! I am a vegetarian. They make my plates to order to make sure I can eat. We drive 1.5hrs to come eat at My Bandera.
My first time here at Mi Bandera Restaurant and it sure won't be my last! Good service and super good tasting food! Prices are good for what we get! 👍
Always amazing n consistent!! Price is not bad at all for the food u receive!! Service is pleasant!
BEST FRIED FISH AND STEAK IN TOWN!! The fish is fresh, fried whole and served table side. The Churrasco steak is th he best I've had since coming to Tampa 3 years ago. If you are looking for the real deal in South American food...THIS IS THE PLACE!
Food was great and we didnt have to wait too long for it to arrive. It was slightly dry but maybe its just me because im so a customized for juicy food. Overall expirence was great and I was able to take food home because there was so much in my plate (great for the money I paid)
I love this place. Great food at great price. One of the best services I've had.
Some of the best lentils/lentejas in town! Fair priced as well love it here! One of the best colombian restaurants in town thank you! Try the breaded chicken!
We had beef broth soup “El Sancocho” sided with beans and “Empanadas” both were so amazing we highly recommend
The best Sancocho, ever!! I think Mi Bandera has other locations, but this one sells the best soup, I'll go when I craving of it, also the patacones are fresh and well done, I'll keep going 😊 prices are reasonable, music or TV on are not loud, waiters are friendly and restrooms clean. Although, not enough parking. Other than that, you are welcome!
Excelent service! Waitresses were very kind. The food was fantastic. Mofongo was actually the best I've ever had. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely visit again.
This place has amazing empanadas. You can get some bandeja paisa and some other great Colombian foods. Few workers speak English, but the majority of the customers are Latino anyway. Enjoy my meal every time I go here.
If you are a carnivore may I suggest the bandeja paisa or chicharon de pollo. If my spelling is incorrect I apologize. The amount of food you get with each order is enough for you to go into hibernation for the winter. The rice is so good I had to have a talk with my wife and demand change. I suggest you give it a try.
Great food and the chicken 🐔 is very good, I was also trying the Churrasco, delicious... Sharina's customer service was great too and the 5 Stars are well earned!!
Consistently really fantastic experience each and every time. Run with great pride and honor, you can taste the dedication in each and every bite. I always wish to take photos but the food disappears so quickly all I’m left with is a good memory to write this review. I don’t know you, you don’t know me, but get the Morcilla and the Ajiaco if available. (Wednesday’s)
I took my husband for lunch here and the personnel was very cordial, the lemonade was out of this world, the paisa was very different thzn othrr restaurant in st. Pete but still good, great soups and thry had figs for dessert which was surprising, moderate up prices aguas frescas were great too.
Excellent food! Every time we are in the area we make a must to stop by and eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is freshly made. So far we have tried the red snapper, pork chops, fried steak, mofongo and I have probably forgotten other plates and everything has been delicious.
Amazing service and even better food. Can’t wait to come back!!!
Homemade food, friendly staff, no non-sense place. And the natural juices are delicious. We love it. We go there all the time.
Great food and prices! My Garlic shrimp order was flavorful and served piping hot..The complimentary table bread was a nice treat..Next time is shall try the much hyped chicken!
This place always has great food and the amount of food you get is awesome based on the prices. I usually get the Mofongo because they really do make it the best here but the empanadas are so good too. If your looking for authentic cuban food this is the spot to go.
Stopped in for a soda de pollo which is my go to when I'm feeling under the weather! It was delicious as always. Also, great pricing. A large soup and side of white rice for $9.
For me this place has the best Colombian empanadas and bandeja paisa. I always eat here every month or so. Last week was the first time I had bad service by a spoiled waitress when picking up my order; however, another waitress noticed and she came and took over as her way to smooth things over which I appreciated. The rude waitress was new as all others were the usual employees that are always there. However the food always is on point which is why I still gave them five stars.
I have Dinner, la bandaja paisa, everything tastes great. I recommend it.
Great COLUMBIAN food... Portions were good...we even had left overs. Loved the empanadas. My favorite is this Mango milkshake. My friend had the mango juice and she loved it. *We will be going back!!! 😉
The kind of hole in the wall you look for because the food is always good, ingredients are always fresh, service is fast and pleasant. I recommend the Mondongo - tripe soup, empanadas are the best I’ve had anywhere including Bogota, don’t miss the homemade hotsauce. Takes me 40 minutes to get there, well worth the time, several times a month.
The food and service were more than great, not too many people but it was around 3 in the afternoon on a Monday, love the place.
Mi bandera is a great small restaurant, colombian style food. Service is great. Always stop by there everytime i go to tampa.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the food! For all seafood lovers, I HIGHLY recommend their seafood soup on Fridays. It's the absolute best, along with their chicken empanadas and shakes. Truly a quaint little gem. Service is always super friendly and welcoming.
We loved the food and although the servers were busy they got us what we needed and explained the menu. Very friendly and warm staff. Not sure why people complained on reviews this is a fairly inexpensive restaurant but you cannot beat the quality.
The only restaurant so far that sells beef empanadas like real beef. Empanadas are full of meat not full of potatoes like other restaurants.
Their food used to be great and you used to actually taste the flare in their food. But it seems like they had a kitchen staff change. As you can taste the big difference (.i.e. - sancocho, empanadas, bandeja paisa etc.). The lack of flavor, the food doesn't seem as fresh and appealing...it's not how it used to be and I've been coming here for years.
Searching for great Columbian food ,look no more, enjoy the best bandeja Paisa, and many other tasty dishes, friendly staff and made to order entries, nothing fancy just delicious food!
Solid Authentic Colombian food everytime. Prices have stayed very competitive and still on the cheap side considering the current high acceleration of inflation. I believe they are making it up on portion size. Which is fine and I still leave full and satisfied. Everything is always fresh. Clean Restaurant and facilities. This restaurant is a solid pick everytime.
Fresh, homemade food with great flavor. The building doesn’t look pretty but the food is worth the visit…
Good food, great deal. Quick service. Will go again!
The food was really good. I got to try a few things and the flavor was well crafted. Service was great, kinda waitresses and quick service. I got the steak sandwich which was so tasty. Portions are filling so you might need a take away box. The empanadas as a starter are a great choice. Bathrooms could use a remodel.
have been to Mi Bandera many times. Love their empanadas, black beans, … This week, had thin, fried chicken entre - it was excellent.
My husband is Colombian, and this is one of our favorite spots in Tampa. Their empanadas and their home made aji are addicting! So many beverage choices and delicious food options.
The food and service here are amazing. The food feels like eating at grandma's house. I have yet to try a dish here I don't like and have been coming here for years. The atmosphere could use an update and the plaza it is at is not the prettiest or easiest to park in but the actual food and service are 100% worth it. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Whether you are Latin or not this place has great food and a huge selection to choose from.
Great Colombian and Cuban food. Must try the sancocho and mofongo
The fish soup 🥣 is AMAZING!!! Only in Saturdays!! I highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😌
I've been coming to Mi Bandera restaurant for a couple years now and I never get disappointed. Excellent food and excellent service.
My daughter is so picky but she will eat a whole plate of their carne asada! We come here on a weekly basis just so she eat her favorite plate! Def a gem! I’m always bringing others and they love the food and service too!
It wasn't busy. I came in for lunch. the staff are nice. The empanadas were delicious. The fries were hot and fresh. The limeade was delicious as well.
If you are looking for an authentic Colombian food restaurant this is the best option! The cazuela de mariscos was amazing and our server Lily was very sweet and thoughtful. We are definitely coming back.
I took my fiancée for an original Colombian date and lord!!!!! I have zero regrets. She tried everything; morcilla, empanadas, bandeja paisa, postobon drinks and even lulo juice. Omg, it was such an amazing experience. The service was on point, they make you feel like home and as a Colombian, there’s nothing I appreciate more than feeling like home❤️ Thank you for your service to this community and keep on making such delicious foods🫶🏽
Fresh and authentic Colombian food and pleasant service. Tasty, good portions and extensive menu. We started with empanadas and delicious homemade chicken soup, paired with passion fruit w milk juice and fresh lemonade. Main meal we tried the skirt steak and the grilled fish (plates are accompanied by 2-3 sides. So worth the money and time.
I can’t get enough of this restaurant. This is my go to Colombian food spot. I drive all the way from Brandon to eat here ever since I moved from Tampa. I just love their food, the sancocho is my absolute favorite plate on the menu. The empanadas are always fresh and perfectly fried. Their house made hot sauce (pique) is a must on all my meals. When I’m feeling extra naughty I’ll order their passion fruit juice in milk( maracuya en leche). I recommend trying it at least once. Let me not forget to mention that the employees are always super sweet and extremely attentive. I eat so good here every time and for great prices! I highly recommend this place.
Friendly waitresses. Food was served pretty fast and the prices are pretty reasonable. Really enjoyed this place. Not only do they sell Colombian food, they sell Latin food in general.
Great food along with friendly staff. My only complaint is that i wish the restaurant was more spacious, the table layout makes it to where you are rubbing shoulders with a random stranger during rush hour.
Great food that's the reason I gave it a 4 star but some of the girls that work there just need to lighten up. Once again great food.
Food is good. I will go back next time.
Good food and attention is good and the place is nice to eat.
Very attentive and corteous service. The food is very good, especially their "soup of the day".
Food is always good, but why will you charge 15% tip if 2 adults and a kid eat.. Most of the time the servers are not even paying attention to the table when there is like 6 of them ?
Food was great, but I did not get a friendly audience when I called to discuss a mistake on my side items. The man who answered my call was unfriendly and argumentative when I told him I didn’t get the rice I ordered. It soured the experience for me. :(
Portions getting way smaller and prices going up compared to other restaurants in the area. I have been in this restaurant many times in the past few years and have noticed the steady trend in the wrong direction. The quality and flavor of the food is still pretty good.
Ehh, not sure I'd come back considering all the other great colombian places nearby. Prices on tapa style foods (empanadas, buñuelos, arepas...) is almost double what they should be. Hard to enjoy a good cup of coffee when it costs as much as Starbucks and is way less than half the size. Service was lacking when we ate there around noon on a Wednesday. Our cups of water were rarely refilled, and we had to wave down a server to get more condiments.
The food is great. However, I feel the food was a little pricey and the service was slow on a Saturday. Still a good spot to eat with the family. That's why I'm giving it 3 stars.
Their food is great but the service is horrible those girls that work there is like during another world. I feel they are discriminatory towards other races. Don't get the same service if you're not their race. I've been going there for years and they still do the same thing so I stopped going there. They give you faces like they don't like the idea of someone from a different culture coming in. Disappointing for me and my friends
This place was ok, , the soup is very salty ,more noodles than chicken 8 dollars I find is a little pricey for soup. And find is not good, sorry !!!
Today I placed an order for Mofongo with Camarones al Ajillo and that was fine. I also ordered Bistec en salsa criolla and received Bistec ensebollado, Two different things all together, NO RICE as I asked for 3 times, received bean with tostones and platanos maduros. When I called to let them know the order was incorrect Lilly swore up and down that I never aked for Rice and the meat was as I asked for, but she kept contradicting herself , Yeah ,I wanted to eat beans alone Lilly. Bottom line is when you order with them, make sure to have them tell you what you are getting or check it before leaving because they will read it back to you as they did to me but got the wrong thing because that is what she understood I wanted. Very disappointed !!!!!
The food was good and reasonably priced but the service really lacked. I love great service and our server never came back to check on us. Did not refill our drinks. When she did come back, she has the bill in her hand. I wanted a dessert and coffee. The flan was terrible it was not homemade. She took it out of the refrigerator right in front of me. The coffee was weak and she never came back after that. A large party came in and it seems she was overwhelmed. Another server came by to assist us and I actually had to get up and go to the register to get my coffee made better and pay. I did tell the servers at the register I was disappointed with the service. There was no management there. I think they are still in business because there is nothing else around.
The services was horrible I order rice and chicken for my kids the chicken was burn plus I order meat with onions that I didn't like i ask if they can replaced it with chicken they said no. We come from Ft.Lauderdale for vacation we stop here to eat dinner it was the worst experience. We don't recommend this place.
been going to the restaurant since they opened, now new owners dont care about the foos i ordered a mofongo with carne frita, the meat was over fried and the mofongo was cold made with old plantains. my sons food was burnt overcooked. been comming for 7 years never had an issue till last year the new owners took over
Place is not good expensive for what they give a day menu and came with rice lentejas and fried plantain that’s it not even a friend egg for protein almost 9.50 for that plate don’t get scammed you get more food at a Latin food place and will taste better for same price
6/22/18 FRIDAY about 6:30 pm - 3 of us ordered and shortly saw a "BIG FAT RAT" came out from the kitchen area & it was behind the left counter, we were seating under the big wall TV very close to the counter with view behind the counter. A man came right behind the rat & kicked it and stepped on it...WE FREAKED OUT & said outloud there is a rat behind the counter as we walked out to the parking lot, but the loud music didn't allow others patrons to hear it. After a few min. in the parking lot 2 of my other friends started calling other friends who visit the restaurant regularly. I walked back towards the restaurant front door as I wanted to speak to the manager...well a young girl employee blocked the entrance and did not let me back inside, I asked for the manager but she didn't allow me and said they had called the owner about it & the animal came through a whole from another adjacent business ! ! ! I told her I didn't believe it & that we were going to report it to the County as this is a health violation and a HEALTH ISSUE. WE ARE NEVER TO RETURN as to many of our friends were also alerted...HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE the staff didn't even apologize ! !
I didn't like anything about it, we order some tostones with carne Frita and the meat was rotten, no flavor plus they don't know how to make tostones. After we spend over $60 the people that we bought food they all sick of the stomach.
They charge me for all my food that I ordered. Forgot to give me my Mofongo and they mess up my dessert and gave me the wrong dessert! The person that took my order,he was doing other orders, serving food, answering the phone, cashing servers etc. No wonder he mess up my order! So disappointed!
ever since someone else purchase this restaurant, not only prices have gone up but the food quality has gone down. i was very dissapointed with the poor quality microwave heated food i was served. unfortunatly, i would not return to this establishment.
As soon as my plate arrived I could smell the foul smell the chicken had. I didn't want to spoil anybody's dinner so I just ate the rice and beans (which were cold). I would never eat here again.
Mofongo was overcooked and darker in color, should have been more of a yellow color the pork fried meat that came with the dish was over fried, hard to eat, the french fries were over cooked , the only thing good was the yucca. I won't be going there again.
Went in to place a catering order a man came from the back to assist we the catering order. When I asked for the total price, the man was being very vague while stating $41 or $42 or something.. I asked again for the final total and a print out because this is a catering order for a future date. The man became EXTREMELY unprofessional stated I was arguing about pennies and to take my order somewhere else. I work for a HUGE CORPORATION and often support the businesses in the area for our catering needs.Because of the lack of business sence and the extreme level of un professionalism we will not longer support this restaurant. Anyone with just common sence would know you need an exact amount when you are catering or just ordering food so that theirs no room for confusion. I would give them zero stars if that was an option.
I just bought some empanadas, oh man I'm so sicken, it was like cream and under cooked. I been go here for maybe 2 decades, not continually, because I have been so disgusted, first time the meat was bad , and if it ain't one thing its another. Never again, its over!
Terrible experience today- ordered Mofongo with churrasco advertised at $19.00 - went to pay and we are told price is $25 instead - had to pay their price because they claim prices went up - the issue is that they don’t tell you what the price is until you have to paid. Dishonest and unethical - will never go back.
I love Colombian food and this was the worse i ever experienced, wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there. My rice was wet and who likes wer rice? I like my rice dry, the platains wer cooked on the outside but raw on the inside, i asked for my egg well done and it wasn’t and their steak is okay. My server sucked! She didn’t pick up the appetizer plates before we started eating and i had a natural mango juice with milk and thought it was too sweet so i asked her if I could exchange it for one with water and she said it was extra charge. Highly don’t recommend it.
Worst experience I have encountered at this place, After standing in line for 10 mins, I get to the counter and the woman instead of taking my order because I have been waiting she decides to answer the phone takes that order and starts to fill that order and leaves me waiting. When I go over to her and ask her if she’s going to take my order she points and tells me that someone else is going to take my order. I waited and no one came to take my order. I decided to walk out because why give someone your money to be treated that way. The woman was Rude and Obnoxious. Will not be going back there.
I placed the order by phone. The soup was cold, with no cilantro on it. My son was to pick it up, they didn't even ask about it. The chicken milanesa came only with white rice, no ripe plaintain(Maduros). When I called, the lady on the phone said: They are too bussy..Please. Let me alone! My son says only three more people were siting there. What poor justification. They are supposed to give better attention, taking account their prices are not cheap, the coronaviros closed their bussiness and still, they don't take care of their job. I will no go there any more. I don't recommed this place to nobody else. Garbage place with piece of crab service!!!! They don't deserve even one star...
Went in to get sancocho de res and everytime I am charged something different. I’ve paid up to $16 for the soup even though their menu online says $10.99, that only brings 2 potatoes and 3 pieces of beef. The rest is pure liquid. Isnt sancocho supposed to be made all together? These people have the liquid, the beef and the potatoes all separate, so they are putting the soup together and only giving you three pieces of beef. Maybe that’s how they save money but if I’m paying $16 for a Damm soup, it better be filled to the top.
Twice I gone to get (2) orders of Bandeja de Paisa and Sancocho with white rice and beans and a steak, white rice and beans for lunch and got charged $17.99 for it which is $13.99 and I brought (3) can sodas which are $1.99 a piece a was charged $2.39 for each can, the restaurant’s owner always up charging and false advertising.
The quality of the food is not as good as it use to even when they claim to be almost all organic. The prices when up and the portions now are smaller. The flavors where blend on my churrasco and beans. The juice was pretty good.
food had no taste and service was the worst. I never write bad reviews unless they deserve it.. I'm really sorry for the owners but get yourselves better cooks and servers than can put love into the job..
This is the second time in a row that I’ve ordered from them and got food poisoning!
