Whiskey Cake - Tampa

Overall experience was great. Service was fine and the atmosphere was great. It’s very rustic and cool inside with an amazing bourbon collection. We sat outside but still had a great view of the outside bar and shoppers from the mall. My only advice is to ask questions about what you’re ordering. My Parmesan fries were full of peppers and I would have asked to keep peppers off my plate. I picked them out and moved on. The ketchup was mustard seed ketchup and was surprisingly delicious.

Whiskey Cake never disappoints! I had the chicken and waffles and it was absolutely incredible. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. I couldn’t get enough! Great atmosphere, attentive service, and food that keeps you coming back.

Everything we ordered was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Unfortunately was not able to get pictures of the deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes or the whiskey cake which all were very good. I liked the deviled eggs the least, though they were not bad just too much mayo. Came for a late night dinner with the family while on vacation. This place was still open and had good reviews so we decided to give it a shot. Loved the ambiance and dim lights. We barely had any wait time and was seated quickly even though it was pretty busy. My favorites were the salmon and chicken sandwhich. Both were so tender and the chicken with the cheese was perfect. I also got a chance to taste the cake which was very good but for me a bite was fine. The drinks I tried were Little Rye Lies and Ripple Threat both were made well.

I went to the International Shopping Center to shop and first looked for a restaurant to have brunch. There were many restaurants concentrated here, and I made the right choice. WOOD GRILLED STEAK SALAD was great! Rich and fresh vegetables. The sauce soaked into each leaf and was very tasty. The wood grilled steak was cooked to perfection and the meat was very tender.

We had s wonderful late lunch with salad and steak and beer. Everything was wonderful. I really enjoyed the visible herb garden in the window, which we were told the herbs are used regularly, fresh from garden to plate.

Whiskey Cake Tampa is a true gem! From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by how clean and inviting the space was. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance between modern and cozy—absolutely beautiful. We only ordered from the happy hour menu this time, but wow—the food was incredible. Every bite was flavorful and fresh, and it left us wanting more. The service was top-notch too—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We’re already planning our next visit so we can dive into the full menu. If the happy hour dishes are any indication, we’re in for a real treat! Highly recommend.

Crew was nice. Atmosphere was great. Crowd was diverse. They even had my favorite whiskey.

I've been looking for a place to dine in while I'm in town for a few days. This place did not disappoint. Great whiskey flights & Kyle was an excellent bartender. I'd have to say the least favorite thing I ate was the salmon. A bit too charred for my liking, but overall, great service, great food!

Exceptional! the food from chef Mark was AMAZING! You have to try the pork chop! The staff is very friendly and nice! Don’t forget the whiskey cake too! 🔥

A 5 stars restaurant and bar. No corners cut. Many areas with different styles and decor. The food came out in a decent time. The flavor and portions were just perfect. The service was impecable, I will Def recommend this to friends and family. Great deal for my money.

If you love lots of flavor, this is the place! The flash-fried Brussels sprouts were so flavorful and delicious! The Whiskey Cake is amazing even for those who aren’t into desserts. It’s a sweet, delicious mix of flavors but not overly rich. I was impressed with their red wine selection since their specialty is whiskey drinks. The environment is perfect for both a date night or a large group of friends. Great service too!

We spent our 4 year anniversary here and we're pleasantly surprised with how good everything was and price point. Our server was excellent. Drinks were on point, and my husband really liked the beer flight.. The steak was tender and cooked to the perfect temperature. I love fried green tomatoes and these were delicious. We also ordered the deviled eggs and those were super good too! The best surprise was their whiskey cake. It's not something I'd typically order, but I'd definitely order it again. It was decadent but not too sweet!

This was our first time eating at Whiskey Cake. My daughter had already eaten at this place once, and she recommended it to us. The food was amazing! I love the ambiance. Elim was our server, and he did a fantastic job. He recommended some cocktails to us and also guided us with food recommendations. Overall, we had a great time and will definitely come back.

What a pleasant surprise. This place will exceed your expectations. The service was phenomenal, the food was delicious, overall a great experience and I would recommend it to anybody that happens to be in the area. I had the ribeye, which was perfectly cooked, and the sticky toffee cake. Both were way better than I expected, and don't miss out on the homemade vanilla whipped cream with the cake.. it takes it to a whole new level.

This was my first time here. I made an appointment for brunch to be safe but they were not super busy when we arrived. We tried the jalapeño cheddar biscuits with gravy, goat cheese fondue, and fried green tomatoes, all of which were excellent! I ordered the croque breakfast sandwich which I did not find very flavorful unfortunately. My son ordered one of the burgers and liked it a lot. We ordered a slice of the dark chocolate almond brittle pie to go. If you like dark chocolate, you'll probably like it. I really liked the almond brittle pieces and could eat just that if they sold it by itself. Everything was very fresh. They bring a bottle a cold water to your table which was appreciated. I definitely plan on returning here and would recommend it to others.

Was recommended this place from a friend, and it did not disappoint! Didn’t get the whiskey cake, but I did enjoy the kale Caesar salad and fried green tomatoes. The service was excellent, and so was the ambiance. Will definitely be returning!

Rarely is a restaurant so good you want to eat there two days in a row but that is exactly what we did while on vacation in Tampa. The whiskey cake is so amazing it is worth coming here just for dessert. Indoor and patio seating. Good for dates or special night out without breaking the bank. They accept reservations.

We had such an amazing experience thanks to our server Mika. She went above and beyond to make my wife’s birthday special. Not only was she friendly and attentive, but she also took the time to share the history of the restaurant with us which made the experience more memorable. Her recommendations were also spot-on. The goat cheese appetizer was incredible, and the Whiskey Cake for dessert is an absolute must-try. It’s easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. She also introduced me to my new favorite cocktail, the American Pie, which was perfectly balanced and delicious. Thanks for the great experience Mika! Looking forward to our next visit.

I was at the Tampa location on Valentines Day for my second visit. I ordered the pork chops and my friend had the steak frites. I asked Chef Mark , who stopped by us, if he could spice up the pork chops. I was able to watch Chef Mark cook my food himself. My meal was cooked to perfection, exactly what I asked for. My friends meal was also extraordinary. I would highly recommend Whiskey Cake for a great meal and service. I will be back and look forward to eating Chef Marks food again.

After a long day at the mall we decided to stop here for food! Everything was delicious but what really stood out and made our night was our server Elim. He was training Kylee, who you could obviously tell she would be an asset to the establishment. We had to young boys who they were attentive and helpful to them suggesting meals and ordering them. I even asked to speak to the manager, Natalie, who was another exemplary employee. We can’t wait to be back!

Came for brunch and had the shrimp and grits. My Husband got the French today which was a large portion. Everything was absolutely delicious and fresh. Our server Kayla was so sweet and accommodating. We felt so catered to the entire time! Will be coming back to try dinner.

Very noisey and very fun. Food was mixed. Salmon was great! The sides, potatoes etc. We're more a garnish than a side. The old fashioned was fantastic. Since I couldn't hear the waitress, I just told her to bring her favorite...she has great taste!

We came here with my cousins for the first time ever. Em and trainee Emily were amazing, so attentive and fun! I couldn't eat the cake due to an allergy, so they brought me fresh strawberries because everybody deserves dessert! The food and drinks were incredible!! One of the best!

Was here for our office holiday party. We shared a lot of apps and they were all good- the deviled eggs, charcuterie board, Brussels sprouts, crab cake, chunky bacon, & spinach artichoke dip were all delicious. I had the steak salad and it was also delicious, but the shining star was absolutely the whiskey cake dessert!! The flavor was AMAZING! Great density, but not too sweet. I could eat it everyday. 10/10

I met a friend for dinner at Whiskey Cake Tampa on a Monday evening, and overall, we had a really nice time. The restaurant wasn’t busy, which made it easy for us to stay at our table for a couple of hours and catch up without feeling rushed. That relaxed atmosphere was a big plus. We both ordered burgers, which were very good. There was a small mix-up with the sides—my chips and her fries ended up on the wrong plates—but nothing that detracted too much from the meal. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant throughout, which helped make the evening enjoyable. In all, it was a good dining experience. While there were a couple of minor service mix-ups, the food, service, and atmosphere made it a place I’d be happy to visit again.

The table we were seated at needed to be wiped off because there was still good crumbs on the chairs/ booth. My wife ordered the chicken & waffles and the first one came out with 3 pieces of hair in the waffle. They made her a fresh one and it got to the table very quickly. They didn't make is pay for that dish on the check which was freaky nice of them. The fish & chips is what I ordered and it was excellent. The drinks were also delicious.

I had a good time at Whiskey Cake. The food was great. The vibe is live and very social. This is not quaint and quiet, but bring your family and friends and have a good time. The dishes we had were amazing. I had the pork chop, and I believe this is the best pork chop I think I have ever had from a restaurant. A special thank you to the manager, Natalie, for her wonderful hospitality and bright personality. She made our experience magnificent. Natalie is a keeper. Someone give her a raise! She made suer we had a great experience with all that was going on in the restaurant. We dined well. Shout out to Caitlyn, our server. Thank you.

Had breakfast at Whiskey Cake and tried the Apple Crisp French Toast—easily a standout. Thick, golden toast with a soft center, rich whiskey toffee sauce, and just the right crunch from spiced pecans and apple crisp. Very sweet though. Relaxed atmosphere, good service—would definitely get it again

Cool atmosphere. The food was good with nice portion size and flavor. I didnt love my hash as the steak had some fat and gristle. I would try something different if I go there again.

The Dutch sandwich and French fries were absolutely fanominal, and the servers were great. I also loved the atmosphere. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I feel some of the menu items were a little pricey.

In town for work meeting. They were able to host a large group of about 20. Service was a little slow but not too bad. The food was good. The hot hen sandwich was very crispy, almost burnt. Too long in the fryer. Salad was nice and fresh. The cheese cake was amazing and of course the whiskey cake!

It was before happy hour so it was very few ppl in there. Service was great. We did have a situation with them putting champagne is the wrong glass but minor. I got the steak salad. It was good but too much dressing. My salad was soggy. Maybe do the dressing on the side. We got the goat cheese with sourdough bread for the table DELICIOUS. Wish it was more felt a little short handed. Overall experience was not bad. Would return.

This place is great love the food and vibe. Great for outside sitting or inside. I got the brussel sprouts and they were fantastic. Def getting those again next time we go. Also, you can't go to this spot without getting the whiskey cake. It's an incredibly flavorful dessert worth saving room for.

Great place to eat. Very low lit ambiance, TVs to watch sports, kid friendly crowd. We got the Wabbit smash and Coolatta...they are not shy about the portions. Wabbit tasted like a thinner Bloody Mary and I was quite impressed. Coolatta was on the stronger side. Kids meal was brought out on a lunch tray and he ate all the Mac & Cheese it was really tasty and fresh made. The Rooster Royale if you like hot honey this is your go to it was phenomenal. I could have really ate 2 of them! The Prime Rib and Gouda Stack another go to for you beef eaters it was delicious, perfectly cooked rib and the flavor combination will have you coming back with the family. Service was friendly and the waiter made sure our cups were always filled. I unfortunately was too full to try a slice of the Whiskey Cake...I'll be back for more!

The server was excellent and very accommodating for our large party. The salmon was good, but the brussels needed to be cooked longer. Overall a good meal.

Katelyn was an amazing my server very kind approachable and efficient however my 3 star score is due to the bartender that forgot our drinks when we were close to finishing our dinner and usually the drinks are given first before appetizers and meal. Also the 3 young hostesses were very rude and unwelcoming. I came in time and it was my first visit ever for this restaurant. I came in time for my reservations (20 mins ahead of time) and kindly told them my name and # of party. There faces were giving disgusted looks because I had 4 kids with me and my sister. I never did this but I couldn’t help to ask them three if everything was okay and they never apologized for their facial expressions. I will only go back for Katelyn and the food was really great. Katelyn apologized for bartender and gave our drinks for free.

My work buddy and I love places to try bourbon. Whiskey Cake came up in a search, looked awesome, so we tried it. Walking in it seemed perfect. The bourbon selection was amazing, noise levels are low, the bar was beautiful. We thought we had found a new favorite place. Things quickly turned south. The service was abysmal. It was slow and the bar tenders are completely inattentive. We had to reorder appetizers due to a shift change. The food is below average, (they should not be allowed to call their coleslaw on a board charcuterie) and is extremely overpriced. We quickly cashed out and went to Rocco's Tacos where we had an amazing experience. I will not be back. Do yourself a favor and stop at Rocco's. There is a reason it was crowded and Whiskey Cake was not.

I made a reservation 1 month in advance and had confirmation of the reservation and multiple phone calls logged showing where I reached out to the restaurant and when myself and my 23 guest showed up I was told I had no reservations. Even though I explained that I called multiple times and left messages all I received was an apology. We were accommodated, however waited almost an hour. I was livid. I recommend if you try them with a reservation please make sure to speak with someone. Do not assume you have a reservation just because one is documented. That means nothing to them.

We’ve been to Whiskey Cake before and really enjoyed both the brunch and the service, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I took my husband there for his birthday on January 1st. We arrived around 2:30 pm for brunch. Despite many open tables, we were told there would be a 10-minute wait. That was fine. We were seated at 2:45 pm and assured the server would be right with us and that brunch would still be available. Unfortunately, no one ever came to our table. We weren’t greeted, didn’t receive water, and no order was taken. By 2:58 pm, we decided to leave. Other nearby tables were experiencing the same issue, and we overheard guests saying they should have walked out as well (they at least had drinks). Very disappointing experience, especially for a birthday. Based on this visit, I would not recommend or return.
