We were fortunate enough to discover a true gastronomic gem this summer, right near the campsite. The restaurant, which we initially thought would be rather basic given its location, was a wonderful surprise. Every dish we tasted was truly delicious, far exceeding our expectations. The restaurant's interior is a perfect blend of mountain rusticity and traditional charm. Simple, yet welcoming and clean, it made our experience even more enjoyable. What really caught my attention was the perfect combination of the warm atmosphere and the high-quality dishes served. Outside, we were greeted by a spacious terrace that seemed to blend in with the surrounding nature and the majestic mountains, a truly unique atmosphere. We were so satisfied that in addition to lunch, we also had dinner, and it will become a regular stop every time we visit Melezet.

BAR, RESTAURANT, AND PIZZERIA Beautiful location, surrounded by nature, among the mountains of the Valle Stretta, with a unique view. Located within the Valle Stretta Camping Area, with free access for non-campers. Service is not entirely satisfactory, due to limited staff during peak periods. The waiters/bartenders serving breakfast are very kind and professional. The food is quite good, but the prices need to be reviewed; they're definitely not camping prices. Chef Gianluca is very knowledgeable and attentive to his guests' needs. The pizza is highly recommended. It's a shame that, compared to last year, they no longer stock granitas, only melted and packaged ice cream.

Food is good but in my opinion not worth the outrageous waiting times. 40 minutes to receive the order (of a fixed menu! for a reserved table). 40 minutes to receive the first dish and another 40 for the second dish.

Terrible experience. In addition to being a restaurant and pizzeria, there's also a "bar" sign on the premises. The place is inside a campsite and is the only one in the area where the shuttles from Bardonecchia arrive and stop, a great starting point for some of the area's hiking trails. I was in a group of friends and wanted to grab a coffee before starting the hike. As soon as we entered, around 10:00 a.m., we were told there was no service at the counter because it would be more difficult to manage than having us all sit at a table outside. We would have preferred to sit at the counter to save time, but we complied with the owner's request, who seemed annoyed by our presence despite the place being almost empty. There were more than 10 of us; we had coffee, fruit juices, some ice cream, and some dessert (the restaurant kind, €6). Many of us also used the restroom, as I think is fair game; it's part of the service offered by a bar where you become a customer the moment you order something, be it a simple coffee or something else. The problem arises when it comes to paying. Nowhere was it indicated that paying with separate bills wasn't possible. The manager started telling us he only accepted a single payment because he didn't have the time to waste accepting all our payments. We pointed out that we'd all be paying with Satispay or debit cards, so there wouldn't even be the issue of having to give change in cash, which I understand can sometimes be difficult for a large group. It was also very inconsistent to tell us he'd be wasting time like this because he had to prepare lunch (remember, it was 10 in the morning and the place was almost empty) after he'd "wasted" more time serving us at the table and having to clean it than serving us at the counter, as we would have preferred. When we insisted, he reiterated that he couldn't just stand there waiting for our payments and that groups like us are always a problem because we only go there to use the bathroom and waste time. He made us feel like inappropriate and unwanted customers. There were a lot of us, but we weren't loud or dirty. In a bar, I don't think it's inappropriate to ask for a quick coffee and to use the bathroom.

Really disappointing experience Unfortunately I have to report a terrible experience at the Valle Stretta restaurant. The service was extremely poor, with an unprofessional and rude attitude from the owner. This was not an isolated case: I personally witnessed similar behavior towards other customers, both before and after my arrival. It is clear that this way of doing things is not the exception, but the norm. A place that should welcome customers with courtesy and respect turned out to be hostile and inattentive. I strongly advise against this place.

These guys are impolite: if you dare ask for food without lactose it is as if you were bothering them. They start using a rude tone. They really cannot picture that intolerance is a real thing.
