My guests and I took advantage of Fortunes Valentines dinner special last night. 159.00 for a great meal for 2 that included dessert and a glass of wine. Also included in the price was 90.00 in free play. We had the shrimp cocktail ( 6 huge shrimp) Our main was 2, 14oz prime rib slabs with a baked potato. The ribs were cooked to perfection. The desserts were Raspberry cheesecake and a deluxe chocolate cake. The pinnacle of the meal was the great service. Our server Ryleigh was fun, quick and super personable. She took excellent care of us. The photos here don’t do the meal justice.
We left the casino to get dinner and didn't know it was "recommended" to get reservations; however, the restaurant had plenty of room. We also had great timing as it started to fill. We were seated and had nothing but a great experience. It was a large portion size of food, great service, all at a great price. We had a view of the track which provided entertainment as we watched the horses. Whenever we're in the area, I'll definitely get reservations as this was definitely a great place to relax and enjoy dinner.
The food was very good! Reasonably prices. There were 8 of us and our waitress Susan was excellent from the moment we sat. Thank you ☺️
This place was absolutely fantastic!! Our waitress, Tammi, was perfection personified. She attended to every little detail without hesitation and we could find NO fault with her. Cloth tablecloths and napkins with water and wine glasses set up at a table is very hard to find these days. You get it here! The food is out of this world delicious. All I can say is that everything, from the wine to the salad, from the main course to the after-dinner coffees was a truly sublime and refreshing experience. You will not be disappointed with this place....at all!
Needed a good meal on our girls trip. It was delicious. And our waitress was absolutely wonderful. Was just great.
Food was delightful. My waitress Ms Sue was very good at her job. I will be returning loved my experience.
Great food, not expensive as expected considering the atmosphere and location. Everything we ate was delicious. Go for the firecracker shrimp and the chicken florentine sandwich.
Had dinner in the Sinatra room located in the back of Fortunes. It has a view of the Horse 🐎 track and they were racing that night. All the staff working were very friendly.
Best food in town, didn't come even close to eating all that food took a lot home for leftovers
We love fine dining...Black and Blue...Russell's Steaks and Chops are our favorites. I can actually put this restaurant in their level. Except the prices were much more reasonable. I had prime rib and my husband had scallops. Both entrees were excellent. I highly recommend Fortune's and look forward to returning to try more entrees.
Everything about this place was nice. The food and drinks are awesome. The lasagna was a good portion that I had to take the rest home. Also the stuffed haddock is some of the best I've had. Finally the crem brulee hit the spot. So when you are at the casino stop in for dinner.
Would never have known a quality restaurant exists in a casino! Chicken Parmigiano was HOT and delicious, creme Brule was quite good and the "BD" chocolate on the plate was so sweet! Olivia was a great server.
The Cajun blue cheese steak rare was perfect accompanied by rice pilaf that tasted homemade. Otherwise it was a great box mix. I've eaten there before and never had a bad meal considering it's a restaurant in the middle of a casino and race track. Delish. Just found out the pilaf is homemade.
My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing and delicious dinner. The salad, chicken marsala , mashed potatoes, linguini, zucchini, and mushrooms were fresh and tasty. We satisfied our sweet tooth with tiramisu and chocolate mousse pie. The best desserts. Our waitress, Sarah, was very attentive and pleasant. Rosalie, the Manager, was very kind and interested that we had a positive gʻ³ dining experience. We will definately be back because customer satisfaction is a priority.THANK YOU!
We had a party of ten, celebrating my Son's 30th birthday. It was the first time any of us had been here! It was wonderful. The staff was very nice and our waiter, Christopher T, was perfect! He was there when we needed him and checked on us at the right times. He was not overbearing, just the perfect waiter that anyone would want. We were in a side room, that was elegant and quiet. We truly enjoyed our time here! And the food was excellent! Highly recommend! Like the commercial says.. "We didn't like it here, we LOVED it here!" Much graditude to EVERYONE that made our time special.
My wife and I were returning from NYC over the holiday weekend when she said let’s go to Batavia Downs to break up the ride. After not having much luck at the slots we hit the jackpot with our dining experience at Fortunes due to our waitress Terry. She was knowledgeable , attentive to our wants and needs, funny and made out decision to stop one of the best things to happen to us over the weekend. Our meal was wonderful due to her professionalism and we look forward to returning in the near future, we will be sure to call ahead to make sure she is working before heading out.
I booked reservations for my father’s 70th birthday at the Clubhouse at Batavia Downs, but later received a call that they were double booked. That’s when Rosalie from Fortune's stepped in to save the day. She reassured me that my father’s celebration would be just as special, if not better—and she delivered! Rosalie thoughtfully selected a table with a beautiful view of the racetrack and even helped arrange a cake to complete the celebration. She even came by to take a picture of our group, which was such a thoughtful touch. Our servers, Terri and Ryleigh, were also exceptional—attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Rosalie checked in on our party multiple times to make sure all our needs were met, which we truly appreciated. Thanks to Rosalie, Terri, and Ryleigh, my father’s 70th birthday turned out to be a wonderful experience we’ll always remember.
took mom for her 70th birthday. party of ten. service was the best we’d ever had. Ann was our server. Can’t say enough good things about her!! Very efficient, friendly, and accommodating. They put us in a party room and had a birthday sign up for mom. Food was great, awesome experience!
We were introduced to this gem by our hosts. Staff were amazing. Food highly recommended to try the pastas and eggplant starters. If we were spending more time in the city would have definitely returned. Thank you for the wonderful evening
We had a delicious dinner there last night and a wonderful waitress named Sue ❤️ It was a very relaxing atmosphere too. Just what we needed to get out of the winter doldrums!
Large portions were served at reasonable prices. In fact my son and I ended up taking home leftovers. The server Daniele was very nice and efficient. I will definitely come back.
Faith,Morgan, and Michelle were great, great! It was closing time and they treated us just like it was the start of the day. We always have a great time there! Food was just fantastic can't say enough
This visit was back in March, but the meal definitely left an impression worth revisiting. I ordered my steak medium-rare and it arrived closer to medium, but honestly it was still incredibly juicy with a great char and a generous dollop of herbed butter that melted right into every bite. The fries were exactly how I like them—crispy, golden, and perfect for dipping into the side of ketchup. The calamari really stood out. Light, crunchy, and not overly greasy, with both marinara and a creamy dipping sauce that complemented it well. Portion size was solid too. Our server was friendly and gave us some great tips for being first-timers in that part of New York, which added to the experience. Overall, a satisfying meal with just a minor miss on the steak temp—solid 4.7 out of 5.
When my family first walked in, the two women at the host stand barely acknowledged us and seemed grumpy. Susan waited on us and it made up for the initial seating. She was delightful and attentive! The fish fry was tasty and it was a very decent portion. The lasagna was fine, but the sauce was a bit sweet.
Good Times Friendly Staff… shout out to Sue … Great waitress. Food was prepared perfect to our liking!
I like their $10 freeplay with each paid entre. Like all restaurants, they cut back on things like no salad or veggies with dinners. Wait staff is friendly and efficient, small menu is good. All-in-all a nice way to spend a night out.
The atmosphere inside had a good vibe, the unique light fixtures and exposed duct work in the ceiling were a good mix of business casual dining. All of the staff were proper & pleasant and although it wasn't terribly busy for around 7p.m. on a Saturday night, I wouldn't recommend this as a place to bring your family (aka your hangry kids 🤣lol) due to the fact that it took well over 2 hours to be served appetizer to main course.... The prime rib was excellent, at $24.95 it's a great bang for your buck in local area.
One of my favorite dishes there is shrimp alfredo. Even though it is nolonger on the menu they will still do it upon request. I was recently there for dinner and asked for that dish and they did make it for me which I very much appreciate. The only problem that I had was that they changed their alfredo sauce. It wasn't as good as the previous one. Which was the main reason I would go there to dine and order that dish because I loved their alfredo. I'm sorry to say I probably won't go there again.
My pork tenderloin seemed to be the only thing (at our table of 5) that was half way decent. It was huge. I was actually psyched for the pork that was on the online menu but was told that they didn't have that any more. Disappointing. My daughter had the same issue with the fish.
May have visited at an off time. The potato was old and not warm enough to melt butter. The waitress was prompt and courteous. Other than the potato, the other items were good. Prices were reasonable considering a restaurant connected to a casino.
We didn't enjoy the atmosphere, service, food or price tag.
Odd location in a far back corner making you walk thru entire casino. Restaurant was quiet once you arrived. Waitress was efficient and pleasant. Food was nothing special. Entrees don't come with salad or veg. For the price I would expect one or both. The menu also lists charge of $6 if splitting/sharing meal the table. That's a huge turn off. Wouldn't return and probably won't recommend.
Just average for a fine dining experience. Cool views when horse racing is going on. The filet was cooked to the right temperature of medium rare, how I ordered it but wasn't impressed with sides, bread, and appetizers which were all very basic. Had a glass of Lambrusco that was so flat, it was clearly opened for a while, and asked for another and was served the same flat glass.
Ordered the 16oz rib eye steak it was cooked to perfection n med rare but the quality was not good Had porterhouse there before was exellent. Asked waiter if rib eye was choice he did not know I assume it was most likely selected ate half only.
The garlic rolls were awesome. The lobster was perfect. But my prime rib was raw and I ordered it medium. Waitress took it back and brought it back seconds later still raw but browner on one side . Chef slapped it on the grill for a second and through it back in the plate still raw mashed potatoes way way to thick dessert was great
First the pros: Atmosphere and decor were nice, service was good too. I had a very good glass of Pinot noir. My husbands steak was cooked to his liking, as ordered. The cons: calamari appetizer was not very good. I think the fryer oil was not the right temp, it was greasy and not very crisp. Very salty too. I ordered chicken Marsala and it was so salty it was difficult to eat. It tasted like instant soup mix. The rice pilaf had the taste of super salty artificial flavoring too. It was a shame because the chicken itself was cooked well, but the sauce made it virtually inedible. Mashed potatoes were over mixed and pasty, not fluffy. Caprese salad tasted ok overall but had some disappointments. Tomatoes were pale and crisp like you’d get from a grocery store in the winter, even though it was summer and fresh tomatoes are available. No fresh basil either, more like a chopped basil in oil. I would not eat here again. If you just want a steak, it might be ok. For traditional Italian food, you’d be better off going downtown to Roman’s or Main St. Pizza.
Went on a Wednesday, played slots before 7:30 pm reservation. Order alcohol, appetizers, each a large salad. Then the waitress said no free play because we ordered salads for entree. Spent more than we would on a meal that Rush, so we won’t return to this restaurant.
I think the premise of the food was good. My wife's fish looked good but was dramatically overdone. My pork chops were beautiful but were also really overdone. Service was friendly- maybe a little too much so. Overall, it was extremely unremarkable. I'm not sure when it became acceptable to rewarm previously prepared dishes but this seems to be the epitome of that genre.
Menu needs to be charged up. Beef products very expensive. Small sea food choices. Atmosphere ok, just does not smell like Italian streakhouse. Where is the iceberg lettuce wedge?? Other restaurants have better choices for much less.
Been there 4 times, first time I had a strip steak which was very good. But the garlic mashed potatoes were terrible. Very gritty and tasted like dirt. Second time was a Friday. Broiled fish was ok, but small, frenchfies were good. 3rd time was a Friday and tried the battered fish fry. It was OK. But could get a better one from my local bar. This last time. I figured I try a porterhouse, medium rare, it was flavorful, tender, but very dry. I had to coat it with butter to get a little moisture out of it. the fries sucked. French onion soup was pretty good. The server was wonderful though and that would be the only reason I would go back. To me, they are trying to be a fancy establishment and they fall far from that.
First time visiting here and overall wasn’t impressed. Hostess wasn’t very nice, came off frustrated we didn’t have a reservation, but I explained it was our first time there and wasn’t aware they were encouraged. Put our name down and walked the casino until it was our time. Came back and the waitress came over took our drink order and then came back with drinks and then our food order. Husband ordered a steak and I ordered the prime rib. Food came out and it was ok. Both the steak and prime rib were cooked to order, but was lukewarm at best. Our waitress never came back to ask how anything was or if we wanted anything else to drink. When we were done she came back and seemed rushed to get us out as they were getting ready to close. The plate presentation was odd considering this is an upscale restaurant we were surprised to see plastic lid condiment containers and a piece of cantaloupe. Most of the menu is priced as “MP” so it was disappointing the cost of mediocre food.
My friend I went for Valentine's dinner. Reservations full so we were told we could eat at the bar. Which of course 7 chairs were full. So, sat at a little space next to bar. The food was good besides a little cold. The server kept making remarks about see this is why we don't sit here. As much as we spent I thought it would be a better experience. We still tipped her, not as much as I would have if she was friendier. I felt so uncomfortable. She was scooting by and said don't want to hit anyone in the head because we don't serve here. And replied I would rather you hit me then make me feel uncomfortable eating here. Are bill was 200.00, didn't eat desert there because she really was too miserable for me. Listen it Valentine's Day you are making money,!!!!!!!!!! Stop with the attitude!! I bartend, tip well, and would never act the way she did!! I didn't want to ask for anything because of the unfriendliness!!!!!
Everything started off great until an employee dumped beer all over our table including soaking my pants and getting some on my food and even my eye. Me and my husband were super nice and so were the employees. Most places give some type of discount especially since it went in my food and all over me. Nope. We received ten dollar free play that I guess everyone gets. I was soaked and freezing and smelt like beer so cut my RARE kid free night short.
Last night we went for dinner. My husband and I both had soup and my husband got a fish fry. I had taken a bit of his fish and a few french fries. The waitress came over and said do you know that there’s a sharing fee for $6. She was rude so I didn’t say anything. The more I thought about it the more Upset I got. I didn’t see anything on the menu about a fee and with the attitude of the waitress the meal didn’t sit well. I didn’t ask for a extra plate or anything extra to justify the fee. Very sad
The service was terrible! We ordered an appetizer and salad came out and never got the app. The meals were below average. Pork tenderloin was tough and Demi sauce way over cooked. The chicken French was flavorless. Server was less than adequate!! Never asked if we wanted dessert etc. definitely needs some training. Slam bam thank you mam! Sorry Margo was not working. She is awesome and would have made sure we were happy.
Our experience was less than pleasant! We went of a promotion, 50.00 food voucher, we were 3 people and ordered according. The hostess came over and handed us the slip from the Player's Club indicating that we had a 50.00 voucher and said to hand it to the waitress ( Sharon). Who immediately became annoyed and said in a nasty tone of voice, " Well this changes everything"!! We had our meals, and she gave me the bill. Noticed that only 36.00 was applied to the bill instead of 50.00. Asked why only 36.00 was applied and was told you can only use the 50.00 if only 2 people dined! So we had to pay the difference! The waitress wore a mask, okay l get COVID I've had it but when a customer has to continually say, "excuse me" because the waitress in mumbling behind that mask gets a little annoying after a while! Then after she gave us the bill she kept lurking around while we tried to figure out the tip. Looking at us while we were making the credit card transaction.. VERY irritating waitress! Fortune's needs to do better.. 😡
Had the steak and shrimp special for $45.00 that was ridiculous not worth the price…shrimp was overcooked my husband’s ravioli Alfredo was not hot we have eaten here numerous times and the menu never changes and the specials our not the best…service was not up to par…very disappointed!!👎👎not likely to return again.
Very surprised Fortunes is still in business. 2 out of the 4 dinners were COLD, explained to waiter baked potato was cold, he replaced with another cold one. Lasagna was luke warm. Waiter (Red) was excellent. Never will return! Very disappointed for $220 dinners.
Food was not good at all. Watched numerous staff members use the cloth napkins to pick food up off the floor and wipe tables ewww. Icing on the cake was when they had a big spill in the drink area and a guy came out of the back with a table cloth and handful of cloth dinner napkins to clean it up. He literally mopped the floor with the same tablecloth they use to cover there tables. Makes you wonder whats going on in the kitchen behind closed doors. Gross!!! My stomach hurt just watching the circus before I even got to attempting the food which i totally regret eating. Place used to be good but never again. Get a mop and get a clue.
Very disappointing Father's Day meal.....especially for the cost! Under prepared service-wise! Very long wait! Wine selection was poor! Did not want to post on Facebook, or any other app, but thought you needed to know!
