We stumbled upon this place during a road trip. Was a really nice and pleasant surprise. Food was EXCELLENT. We initially stopped because we saw the nice outdoor covered terrace, but then were pleasantly surprised by the food. My son ordered a seafood enchilada (some house special, forgot the name), even though I always recommend not ordering fish in inland places. Ended being the best dish of them all. We didn't try the margaritas because we were driving, but some of the other tables seemed to be enjoying their jumbo sized ones. I wish there was a restaurant like this near where I live.
This is most definitely the best Mexican food in the county and a top contender for Western NY. This isn’t just a place for the usual stuff like tacos and fajitas, though they are fantastic. The great thing about this business is the variety of food that has authentic flavor and always comes out fresh. Service is always great AND they keep the whole place so clean. I’m a little out there because I strongly judge a restaurant by the cleanliness of their bathrooms and they are damn newer immaculate. I often order food to-go too and they never fail. Prices are more than reasonable! I can’t wait for their new building project to be finished for an even space because I will strongly consider hosting events here!
Simply one of the best mexican restaurants wny has to offer. So good I always forget to take pictures lol. The chile colorado is to die for, that is one of my all time favorite dishes and they make it the best! Always consistent
My husband and I live out of town but LOVE Mexican food. This place is one of our favorites, the food is excellent! Drinks are tasty as well. Even on an extremely busy weekend the staff is friendly.
It was actually quite excellent. The food was authentic and unusually well presented for a Mexican food restaurant. The waitress was charming and efficient- she didn't hover at the table but she was there whenever we needed her. The margaritas were delicious.
This is an awesome restaurant! The food is delicious and the service is excellent!
This place is a hidden jewel and you're not going to find a more authentic restaurant in the area. The food is always top notch and the consistency with every visit has us talking about what we'll get next time. The staff members are friendly and on top of their game.
Food is so delicious if you want genuine Mexican foods. The atmosphere is contagious - cheerful and happy place to enjoy a good meal.
This restaurant is a hidden gem! We were in the area after a day of youth football, and decided to stop in because the menu looked good... We were not disappointed! We got 2 orders of queso to go with the chips, and it was subtly spicey and delicious. We got a variety of entrees including one of the specials , a burrito, 2 different kinds of enchiladas and some kids meals and everything was great! We decided to get 2 orders of the home made church's for dessert and they were tasty! My only criticism is the churros were a bit oily and that's why it only got 4 stars for food. We are from a decent distance away but would definitely return for a date night or if we ended up in the area. Would highly recommend!!
Randomly found this place while driving the backroads, I would have never guessed the best Mexican food I've ever had would be in Medina NY. Hands down the best spicy margarita I've ever had.
The food is amazing. Love their black beans and purple home made tortillas. Friendly staff and great food.
Outstanding, again! I had not been here in a year. The food is still great. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Well worth the hour it took to drive here.
Today, which is a Sunday, was our first time eating there. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted with smiles. The menu has a lot of choices which is nice. There were a few things that we wanted to try but they were out of them. We did enjoy the food and the drinks we ordered. The gentleman cashing us out was very pleasant and engaged in small talk with us. We definitely will go be going back.
Wonderful experience, first time there can't wait to come back! A fantastic array of food options we had 4 different meals and we all loved each one!
I love this place! We stop here anytime we are in the area. The service is top notch, everyone is so friendly.
Food and service were again excellent! We went because it was "thirsty Thursday" to have 5.00 margaritas as we have in the past. We ordered plain house margaritas and we're told they weren't 5.00 as they have more tequila in them. I recalled on the bar menu that house was 8.00 so I did not complain. To my surprise, when the bill came they were 11.00 a piece! We will still come for the food and service, but refrain from margaritas that expensive!
As I had mentioned to a friend, this is a near religious experience. Dined this past Sunday with a friend, sharing an order of Chiles Toreados, with fresh chips and salsa, with La Cazuela for my entree. All the food was top quality, and the addition of orange and lime to the Chiles Toreados took the dish over the top...a HOME RUN. Also, Mexican oregano made a huge difference in the salsa that they provided with the chips. YUM! Bright, fresh flavors were apparent at every bite. This place clearly earns a place on places to go to on trips "up north" with friends. Before I forget to mention too, our waitress was amazing. Fully knowledgeable about the menu. Checked on us frequently and made us feel like royalty. Thanks for a memorable experience!!
Rarely do I ever review anything. But this restaurant is worthy of positive feedback. My family and I randomly came to this restaurant and we were so pleasantly surprised! The food was so delicious (but not overpriced) and the service was friendly and efficient! The atmosphere was pretty great too! My only wish was that I lived a bit closer! But, my family will definitely be back!
An awesome restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating, wait staff who are friendly and professional. I had the Chili Colorado, and it's awesome but I'll warn you, it's very spicy! 🔥🔥🔥 If you like spicy as I do, it's the hottest thing on the menu. My wife had the Sopas, which were incredibly good as well. 5 stars would recommend!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the region! Very authentic Mexican (Latin) food! The staff has always been very nice and helpful. The decor of the restaurant and background music makes you forget that you are still in the US. Food is very delicious! I love to order the Carne Assada. Originally from Brazil, i love my beef very thin and well seasoned, and this one has never disappointed me. Food is fresh and very homely.
Friendly staff and great food, my order came out very quickly.
We had a simply Excellent experience last night at Mariachi De Oro. This was our first time here and from Start to Finish we have one word, AH-MAZING!!!! Food was delicious, we had the sweetest and most attentive server, Yuli, don't hesitate to ask for her. That being said almost every server that passed our table asked if we needed anything. The amount of food was tremendous and we loved the authentic Mexican food that we haven't found until now here at the Mariachi De Oro..We have already made a date for another visit!!! And Can't wait!!!! They made us feel like we were on vacation and made this our favorite vacation spot- a memorable evening for sure! <3
My family and I went here for my birthday dinner last night. Service was quick, staff was very friendly, we chatted with the hostess and waitress throughout our meal. We visit often because they have the best Mexican food I've had. This time was just as good. I highly recommend the Medina tacos and las primas enchiladas, two of my favorite dishes. 10/10 and I will continue to visit frequently.
The food is absolutely phenomenal! The rice was hard and the beans were plain but the main courses were beyond delectable! The mole, the tacos they're perfection! The enchilada sauce is a little bland but you have to come and try everything for yourself. They also have real fried ice cream which is difficult to find. They offer quality mezcal and añejo! The refreshing margaritas are the best margaritas I've ever had! You will not be disappointed coming here. Everyone that works here was super nice, friendly and accommodating. They played really good music too! It's hard to not dance while enjoying your meal. We drove to Medina from batavia and I'll do it every time when I'm looking for delicious and authentic food from Oaxaca
Love this place, food is always amazing and fresh
What a GREAT authentic Mexican restaurant with consistent tasty selections. We have been here on a number of occasions and it is always wonderful. Our waitress today was top-shelf! Don't hesitate!
Came out from Hilton on a recommendation from a friend and so glad we did! We had the Sopes for an appetizer, and you can absolutely tell the ingredients are 100% fresh! Had the shrimp dish, and my boyfriend had tilapia and shrimp. Very good flavors and just enough for portions. Drinks were delicious. Staff, just amazingly friendly and was so happy to tell us the area in Mexico her family was from. It was a great night!
Great food and atmosphere. My wife loved the margaritas. This will be our go-to when we're in Medina.
Everything about this place was awesome. The food wasn't me! Our server was helpful and kind and even offered to take photos of our family when she saw we wanted some. The decor is really cool and because it was the day before Cinco de Mayo they had live music. I can't recommend this place enough. We live about 40 minutes away and we will definitely be making the drive to Medina to eat there again. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Our waitress so friendly and attentive. We asked for a recommendation and the dish she recommended was delicious. It was worth 35 minute drive for us.
Soooo delicious! I ordered the Steak Ranchero, and it was so tasty. The steak was cooked just right, the cheese sauce was very creamy, and the mushrooms were perfect. This dinner was truly great, and we plan on coming back when we are in the area again.
Love the atmosphere and decor. Service is always great! Food is delicious! Love eating outside but inside is nice too!
Absolutely love this place! Food is always amazing! Service is always amazing, music is great! And love the way the restaurant looks. Great place to go for any occasion!
Went here for lunch yesterday. Moved from Cali a couple ofyears ago and have been having a tough time finding a good Mexican restaurant up here. Not only did we find one, but it's been under our noses the whole time. Some of the best Al Pastor ive ever had and the portion inside the tacos were insanely large. Absolutely wonderful. The seafood (scallops and shrimp) fajitas was a huge portion that could easily feed 2 people. They used proper sized scallops and a ton of good sized shrimp. And the flavor was on point. I think the fajitas were $17 and came with all the goodies. Amazing meal. Loved this place. Will be going back frequently.
Our first time here and our new favorite place. Worth the drive from anywhere. The food was excellent and very well priced. Gianna was super friendly and personable. Hand painted tables and chairs really set the scene and feels like a pure Cantina vibe.
Food is consistently great. The prices are also the lowest around by far. The menu is also really big so it accommodates any picky eaters.
Our favorite restaurant in town hands down! Food is always fresh and service is excellent. Monthly specials are always a great new addition to the menu.
Cute little spot we found by accident while in the area for a wedding. If we ever head to Medina again, we will most definitely be eating at Mariachi de Oro again! Delicious food, great service and cool atmosphere.
This is a hidden gem. The food was authentic and delicious. The service was great and the out side seating was perfect. I would recommend stopping by and enjoying the hospitality and food, it's really not that far from the interstate, definitely worth the visit.
We were driving home after a hike in the area and passed this restaurant. Looked cute from the outside, and I wanted a margarita so we stopped in. The friendly host sat us at the outside bar (our request), and we were promptly greeted by the bartender. Since we hadn't planned on eating, we ordered 2 margaritas and the chorizo cheese dip. Everything was wonderful. We can't wait to come back (an hour drive!) and have a full meal.
There was virtually NO wait upon arriving so we were seated quickly. Drink orders were taken and delivered fast. Meals came out quickly and were hot. When they tell you, "Don't Touch the Plate because it's hot" it truly is! Plus our waitress was wonderful! Looking forward to going back.
Our first visit and we were quite comfortable dining inside, lighting just above candle light bright. Wall murals were nice, furniture was sweet. Like the formed booths but the barrel chairs are awesome! Party of four and our house margaritas were brought quickly. Nice touch of salt or sugar on the rim. Delicious taste of tequila stood out. We ordered our meals and enjoyed a short time of chatting before they arrived. The chimichangas with chicken or beef. I enjoyed the beef, seasoned nicely. Just the right amount of lettuce and tomato with a dollop of advocato cream on the side. The chimichangas were a little smaller than other restaurants, but they were priced accordingly; and, instead of taking one home, I ate both. The separate dish of refried beans looked to be nice and creamy, just not my thing. After dining, we stepped onto the outside dining area. Such a nice fresh breath of are, spacious, and room for many. Great for children, great ample parking. The staff was all very friendly and quick to serve with a smile. We were made to feel very comfortable. Very enjoyable visit.
2/14/2023: My wife and I had dinner there. I had the Nachos Don Leo (and Molcajete as takeout), my wife had a Vegan burrito. The food was excellent, the portions generous, and the service (from Cameron T.) was fantastic. The appetizer chips and their home-made, slightly-spicy salsa was also great. We were too full for dessert. 10/17/2023: I got takeout from Mariachi De Oro and decided to try some Oaxaca Tacos, to get a feeling for the Oaxaca street food. There are at least 5 choices of meats: Steak, Chicken, several types of Pork, or Chorizo. I got the Chorizo and I highly recommend it. There were 4 soft tacos, filled nicely, and large enough to pick up and eat in your hands with minimal spilling. In addition to the cilantro and onions, there were 4 pieces of lime, whose juice I squeezed over the tacos. I would never have thought of that. Finally, there was also green chili salsa on the side. It was pretty spicy and added a lot to the tacos' flavor. I'm definitely ordering this again.
I came here with the rest of my family. For a drink, I had a non-alcoholic Daiquiris, while my main meal was a Fajitas Tropical. The drink was good, but the food was great. And there was a lot of food, which I ate all of, in one sitting. For dessert, I had Fried Ice Cream. It was heavenly. If I could rate that ice cream, it would be 10/5. As it is, my rating is 5/5.
We drove an hour from Hamburg, NY to come here and we're not disappointed. The prices are reasonable, there are plenty of options, and the food is fresh. There is even a self serve salsa bar. Reservations are recommended. We waited about 20 minutes for a table on a Saturday afternoon so it isn't too bad of a wait. Also their cocktails look amazing. Can't wait to come back!
Love it here! Fast service and the food is soo good. Different options than other Mexican restraints. Good margarita flights!

We had a great time here! We ate outside and it was very nice! The food was excellent, service was awesome and the price was perfect!
Best authentic Mexican food!!Highly recommended.Sometimes long waiting getting a table but food is worth it
Now that Leonel and Dolores are running Maizal's in Buffalo, his sister and brothere have taken over the cooking. It's a little different, but still wonderful. The list of things we love is so long…
Wonderful mexican restaurant, actually best mexican food east of Taos New Mexico.Family owned and operated with several family members there at all times I've been there.
Amazing food. Try the tamales! The atmosphere was different than I expected. Dark but authentic. Dining room is on the small side but they have a beautiful outdoor area as well. Closed in the winter ofc. Drinks were strong, food is the key component here.
Waitress placed a wrong order for me and then acted like she didn't get anything wrong. Was not very clear on the menu. What I order is with one ground beef and one shredded chicken. She asked which one I wanted and I stated "it comes with both." She brings out the menu item listed above what I wanted. With a mixture of chicken and beef mixed in one wrap. Total misunderstanding of my order and not very sympathetic waitress. Food is excellent, hope I get a different waitress next time.
We were seated right away, menu choices were plentiful as were drinks. Our meals arrived quickly and were hot. I enjoyed my meal and others seemed to also. The restaurant was really busy, therefore noisy but being in a booth you can converse easily.
Popular, Authentic Mexican restaurant well worth driving to rural Medina for. Casual dining with seasonal outdoor dining room - covered from weather, screened & heaters available - and an indoor dining room. ♿️ accessible building. Parking lot is rough stone, dirt. NO designated ♿️ parking. Food & service are both top notch! I'm not a regular Mexican cuisine eater, like my companions, but found enough foods on menu to choose from & really enjoyed my 1st dinner here.
The Food was excellent, especially the enchilada platter with the mole and other type.. the bartender was very nice and working her absolute butt off. They need to fix the AC though. I couldn’t go back... I was working all day without AC and needed a place to cool down and have dinner.

Food was mediocre. Cheese dip tasted like velveeta cheese. Salsa tasted like marinara sauce. Enchiladas were garbage verde sauce was too salty. Rice was bland as can be, Tasted like air. Only reason this isn't a 1 star is because the drinks were too notch. Michilada and margaritas were on point.
Server was not great. Asked to put grilled chicken instead of shredded chicken in one of the burritos and she said no that’s not possible… I asked even if we paid for it?? And she said she would ask, then stepped around corner of booth stood there for 10 seconds and came back and said she can do it. Then brought mine and wife’s food before the children’s… Food is decent/ alright, not my favorite Mexican restaurant but not the worst!
Beautiful location and setting. Outside bar and seating area is pleasant and roomy, indoor seating decor is fun. Service was excellent and friendly. The food however was just OK. The pork and ground beef lacked flavor we were expecting delicious Mexican seasoning but it came up short compared to other places. It was not terrible by any means but just lacking.
The food was good. The service on the other hand, is not up to standards. Our waiter was Louis, one diner at the table had requested no quac. And upon delivering it to the table ran away saying he was getting the rest of the orders. He still failed to bring all items or the correct items. Then asking for a drink refill was time consuming. He delivered the check while forgetting the refill.
Extremely dissatisfied with this restaurant. Tonight was the third time I have ordered a takeout order. To get home and an item is missing. So frustrated I ask to just have it credited off my MasterCard. But my granddaughter wanted what she ordered. So I go back to pick up the item, she proceeds to tell me what I owe them. My reply to her was this is my second trip here to get my order. It’s your job to make sure the order is fulfilled not only did I pay for my order. I left the 20% tip on it to go order you credit an eight dollar item instead of being apologetic that I had to come back to get an item that you have omitted in my order, you charge me. Not an apology nothing but charge me. The food is mediocre, but it’s the only Mexican restaurant in a small town, but I will never ever order from the establishment again.

I sent a message to this restaurant via their website but haven’t heard back. It’s been approximately 36 hours. Maybe this review will get their attention. I order from here quite often. And I ALWAYS wait longer than anticipated. I even get to the restaurant late for this reason. I normally don’t mind because the food is always delicious. The other night i was told via text my order would be ready by 5:51. I arrived at 5:56. It took about 7 minutes to have anyone address me or the several people in the lobby. The hostess said my food was not ready and it would be right now. I sat there and waited until 6:20, nearly 30 minutes from when the food was supposed to be ready. I asked a different host if my food was ready yet and that it had been about 30 minutes since I was told it would be ready. He disappeared into the kitchen and a third hostess/server came out with my food. As I handed her my card to pay, I asked her “has this been sitting out long?” She assured me saying, “no, not at all. It’s just that we’re very busy.” Once I arrived home, which was only a 6-min drive, I quickly realized the food had, indeed been sitting out for quite some time. The burrito was lukewarm, they didn’t provide the same amount of chips, as they always have provided in the past, and my food (Chico con Chico) was almost cold, difficult to cut, and extremely chewy. It has been sitting out on the counter for at least 20 minutes. Like I said earlier, this place is notorious for telling you your food is ready at a specific time, and it always comes out late. And I usually don’t mind to sit and wait. I’m usually a very patient person even though I could be doing something better with my time. However, to blatantly lie and serve cold food that would be better served to a dog, is unacceptable. What did I just spend $32 on?!?AND to disregard the complaint sent via their website? Can’t say that I won’t eat there again because it is the only Mexican in town, and they are very good. However, going forward, I will be requesting a table and I will sit there and order takeout and wait until it’s been presented appropriately. Maybe using table space for a takeout order will get the staff in line and me out the door faster.
If you have a gluten allergy, are a vegetarian or want anything added/taken out of your food….do not bother. Food overall (given by the non-vegetarian, food allergy people who were with me) was not very good. It is not authentic Mexican food at all. I asked for their menu items to be made without meat, it was a no go. Meat could not be taken “out of” any item even if I was willing to pay extra. There is not a vegetarian menu. Only two items were offered to make vegetarian. Gluten free? What’s that? They do not care or offer it. They will also not offer custom drinks, even if you are able to and offer to pay extra (I asked for nothing they did not offer on menu other than taking items out). Overall, I would not ever recommend anyone eating here.
Not a fan. First thing I said was it's a to go order and I'd never been there. I said I know my husband wants a taco salad with beef. but I have to decide. When the order came they gave him a burrito! She seemed annoyed when I said I ordered a taco salad! But they fixed it. The salad was tiny compared to other places and it was loaded with refried beans on the bottom but barely any meat. Definitely not worth the money
The best part of my experience here was driving up. It’s a nice looking place, and maybe away from the holidays, they may have nice food. When I walked in, at least a fajita plate someone ordered was sizzling. When I was seated the greeter and waitress were friendly and pleasant. The chips and salsa I received, though was ice cold. It wasn’t terrible, but ice cold, it wasn’t pleasant. We ordered and my wife got up to wash her hands. We ordered Carnitas and they hit the table directly after my wife returned to the table. It felt way too quick and I could see there was no steam. Everything on the plate was flat, wilted and cold. The beans were pale and tasteless. My pork was more a pulled pork, old, cold and bland. We immediately got up and left. I drove an hour here based on reviews for authentic Mexican. What I received was nuked old food. Unacceptable.
Took a while to get a drink. Some white bartender finally took my drink. When I paid cash they rounded up the change without telling me. Ordered a second drink and they rounded up the change again. Not sure if it is standard practice to take all of your change and still expect a tip.
Terrible service. Went with a group, would not seat us to everyone was there. Fine. The last person of our group was there at 11:55. Waited for anyone to take our order, acknowledge us.. Numerous servers walked by us, seated others, brought drinks to others, brought food to others who came after us. We tried to flag someone, no one came. Finally asked a server who curtly responded, “when we get a minute.” Now 30 minutes later. Still no service, not even water, so we left nearly 40 minutes after arriving. When we left the hostess looked up, did not acknowledge us, ask why we were leaving, nothing. We told her we were not waited in over a half hour. Again very unfriendly said you were supposed to let us know when your other person arrived. Three server’s literally were next to our tables and totally ignored us. When we got outside…another customer was leaving, approached us and said they have terrible service and he would not be back.
The hostess gave us menus, silverware, we were seated at our table for twenty six minutes. They kept glancing our direction walking by never even asked what we would like to drink. Yet serving others promptly that were seated long after we were seated. We’ve always been polite and tip well wherever we go. We weren’t rude to anyone, we never even given the opportunity to say hello. We finally just upped and left. Absolutely dumbfounded.
We are there this past Sunday. The waitress was horrible. She avoided our table of 7. I asked for a side of lettuce for my meal and I was denied. No matter what I said she wouldn't give me lettuce. She never asked if we needed anything or how everything was. Took forever for the bill. And then forever to get a box to get the hell out of there. Probably last time for us. And telling others also how bad it was.
My husband and I ordered take out. Driest tacos I have ever eaten. Mighty taco is gourmet compared. We ordered the Medina taco and it looks NOTHING like the picture on the website. The chicken is the driest, stringiest, flavorless chicken. Barely any toppings on it. Tortilla is ROCK hard. SO disappointed. Would NOT eat from here again.
I just found a damn hair almost look like a pubic hair in the taco sauce. I tried to take a picture but I was in a rush.I should have because this is not fair literally I took a chunk out of it and I put the hell out of my mouth very freaking nasty.. I WAS JUST TOLD THAT THE LEFTOVER SAUCE FROM OTHER CUSTOMERS plates is been PUT IT BACK IN THE BUCKET Sauce so THEY CAN RESERVE IT.. that's why the food is so cheap they keep recycling the leftovers from the customers think about it I looked at it and pay attention..comply with the rules we r in AMERICA..keep the bad habits to your personal life don't bring it to others to get sick. .we r not use to this nasty habit.
I was traveling around local high schools in the area for work along with several coworkers from other colleges. We had a break in our day, and decided to try out Mariachi de Oro Mexican Grill. We had high hopes, as reviews were high online and the food looked fresh and well prepared. Our expectations were not met, unfortunately, and we were met with hostile staff upon arrival. They were not accommodating to our group. 5 out of the 6 of us arrived, and they let us know we all had to be there to be seated (nobody else was there), and when the 6th individual showed up they would need to be seated alone due to their policy? To solve the matter, the 5 of us sat at the bar. We were treated terribly by the staff and their hostile attitude. They would not allow us to split the bill and gave no flexibility but rather told us no, that's the policy (even though we needed to be reimbursed separately by the different companies we work for). The girl taking care of us at the bar argued with us and was very rude. She said "i'm not going to argue with you". Asking for more than one chip basket for 6 people was met with a scoff and attitude. Any additional sides requested also were They were unwilling to help us at all and treated us like we were in the wrong for even being there. When an individual from our group asked to speak to the manager to clear things up she replied promptly no, they are not here. After minutes of back and forth, we had no choice but to pay 1 bill. Over 100 dollars for some mediocre food. Not worth it at all. Worst dining experience- do NOT recommend a company that won't even try to work with their customers.
If I could rate this a one star I would !!!!! I spend money here ALOT !! I ordered on door dash steak fajitas with chicken and tortilla lite pepper and onion rice etc . Just for no chicken no pepper no onion dry steak and not even the tiny cheese dip full for 8 dollars no tortillas in the bag !! . I called and instead of making it right the manger was denying everything I asked to talk to the owner and said oh he’s in a meeting don’t know when he will get out . This really makes angry . For almost 30!!!!
