I visited chicken express when I was out in Texas. in Houston, and then again in Waxahachie I had the fried fish, which I loved. in fact, I ate it three days in a row!!! so good I wish they would build those here in florida.

I’ve never been to a place like this! The chicken was fresh and tasty! I live 50 minutes away from here and I drove back again today because I had a craving for these delicious chicken strips!! Thank you to the manager Amber and the crew here and major shout out to one of the best cooks there named Eleria!! My new favorite spot!!

Their fried chicken is very moist and delicious. The fish filets not so much. They were dry and over cooked. Go for the fried chicken you won't be disappointed. Their sweet iced tea is delicious.

I've never even eaten the chicken here. We always get the fish, which they don't make until you order it...so you wait, but it's FRESH. WORTH IT. The tea is good too. My kid is in love with the corn nuggets.

I love coming here....I've brought my granddaughters here with me several time's....and trust me. They love it too, the rolls are so fresh that my granddaughters can't leave me any. The chicken is juicy and the sides are all great to choose from . I myself love the corn nuggets. If you've not yet tried this place out. Perhaps you should go try it out. I wish they had locations in Houston. I drove 32 minutes for this because I had a hankering for their fried chicken and mashed potatoes. The chicken was as tasty and well seasoned as I last remembered it.

I specifically went here for rolls and sweet tea! Rolls were fresh and sweet tea was good but a bit too sweet. I would definitely go back to get it all again...I'd rather too sweet tea than watered down nasty tea!

I had an amazing experience at this location I was just passing through Baytown and stopped here for my kids and I some food and an employee named Angel took very good care of me at the drive thru while I was trying to order and deal with crying toddlers she was so patient and understanding with me explained that she’s a mother so she gets it and she got my food out in a quick and timely manner. The manager Porsche, is the nicest, most caring and engaging person. I have rarely met a manager or employee of any restaurant who was as genuinely concerned with my experience and satisfaction with my food and service. Ms. Porsche deserves the manager of the year award 🥇 and a significant raise or a promotion to District level because she needs to be teaching others proper management techniques. I also observed her with the employees behind the counter and she seems to be an excellent engaged and caring leader. If this site is monitored by anybody from corporate, I’ll say it again. Very clean restaurant. The staff was friendly and polite, clean, and well dressed. The food was delicious. The tea was super sweet and cold just the way it's supposed to be. It’s a treat to head out for lunch ever couple of weeks to get some fried fish. It’s always hot and tasty. But the best part is Ms Rolanda. She knows my name and greets me as soon as I cross the threshold. She knows I get the two fish combo and drops that fish right away! We always come here and yes sometimes we wait 10 -20 minutes especially for the fish. Still, customer service is exceptional and the management care. We are ensured fresh HOT food. If an error is made the management display that they care in ways that a lot of business don’t. My first visit was a great turnout! I was greeted once I walked in the door with a “Welcome in” and smile by the cashier named Elizabeth she than gave me great recommendations on what is good here and even brought my food to my table. Best fried chicken that you can find in Baytown. My only complaint is that their new "spicy" recipe tasted exactly like the original recipe. I'm guessing they might not have marinated the chicken in the spices long enough. Plus, I only got one order of mashed potatoes when I ordered and paid for two orders. But it just wasn't worth it to go back just for my mashed potatoes, so we ate less mashed potatoes than we wanted to. But other than that, this is my go to place when we want fried chicken family meals.

The food was very good, the service needs some training. I understand the understaffing issue that all business's are experiencing, but being rude is not acceptable for me to spend money there. We will have to find another location for our chicken.

Let me say the fried pickles are the bomb lol but yeah my order ruined that . I ordered for me and my sister so her order was correct I got a 3 piece chicken fries and hush puppies. I get to work and open my food only to see fried okra 😓😭 the texture I just don’t like it or I would had order it from the start but yeah ruined my whole appetite .. couldn’t go back because I don’t get out till 3/4 in the morning. But yall nailed it on them fried pickles!!

When it's good, the chicken tenders are Boss. They have lowered the price of their drinks and have cut down on some sides as well, so they're even more reasonable than before. I've had a few instances when I've gotten older tenders, and restaurants that have heat lamps are prone to doing that. It could be better, but not in many ways. Choose Rolls over biscuits here always.

The sweet tea was great as always. The chicken tenders were just OK this time. We also got several sides (like okra and fried pickles) and they were really greasy, more so than usual.

If you would've asked me before..I would've given it a 5 and may still do that.. but ONLY for chicken tenders cooked fresh.. today we ordered 2 piece each and it was GREASY.. so bad that I would never do it again..I ordered a thigh and wing..I enjoy a good thigh but this very tiny GREASY piece of chicken with 2 BONES was awful..I had the thigh bone plus back bone.. very little meat at all.. my partner ordered the thigh and breast.. his thigh was the same way. 2 bones and greasy. The chicken breast had the neck bones attached to it.. and GREASY. the potatoes are barely luke warm.. huge disappointment.. WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT AT ALL. I would return.. but only for chicken tenders dropped while I'm there. And I'll wait I love their tea.. but I will never order chicken pieces again. Sad.. but I'll try the one in Dayton next time..I heard theirs is not GREASY

The food and the sweet tea are awesome....when you can actually get food. Every time we come to this location they're having issues, no chicken, fryers are not working, the list goes on. We have been told a 10 minute wait time for chicken and waited for close to 45 minutes.

The chicken and okra was ok. It may have been better had it been hot and fresh; the catfish was hot and tasty. The chicken being luke warm and okra being cold wasn't a deal breaker, I will ask for fresh food the next time I go there.

Not good because when you're paying almost 43 dollars for a 12 piece meal you would expect to get fresh hot chicken hot fries or okra fresh rolls and the chicken cooked all the way through but not burned. . Last month we went and waited for fresh chicken over an hour because they gave our order to someone else. And we ended up getting warm chicken but ended up not getting our okra. . How hard is it to get fresh chicken cooked all the way through and get your whole order. Not JUST half. Then went BACK up there and they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about.

I haven't been to C.E. in a few months. I decided to go have lunch and it was worth it. The chicken and rolls were extremely fresh. I enjoyed it. The mashed potatoes and macaroni were cold and tasted like it had been sitting there for a while. Other than that, great experience. I'll be going back.

I asked if the fries were gluten free and they reassured me they were. They were not. This was not okay. Love the sweet tea though. I came through the drive through today around 3:30.

It really seems to matter when you go. I went yesterday during lunch and it was honestly some of the best fast food chicken I've had. I liked it so much I went back today around 430pm and it was not even close. The chicken seems dry and overcooked, I didn't get the correct sides with the order, and I paid for "jalapenos" and got 1 sorry looking jalapeno with a hole already in it so no juice. Not impressed.

The food is always fresh and hot. I hadn’t been in a while and tonight I decided to drive from Houston only to have the young lady take a deep breath and roll her eyes. I only let her know I wanted barbecue sauce and not gravy. Maybe she needed a break and of course the manager didn’t really care. It appeared as though they had been subjected to prolonged exposure under a heating lamp. The rolls were characterized by their buttery texture and freshness, while the biscuits lacked any discernible flavor. The macaroni and cheese exhibited a creamy consistency, and I found the meal to be generally enjoyable. However, I must note that the pricing seemed somewhat excessive. In conclusion, I intend to revisit this establishment in the future to sample their renowned fried chicken and fish offerings.

Came through the drive-through and they mentioned that it would be a 15 minute wit weight for chicken breast so we waited and it was about 20 minutes. Shouldn’t chicken be available at chicken express

Team lead or manager was a little rude to Cashier when she needed help changing an order. Cashier was wonderful. Took my ordered and worked within my budget. Was in there on 01/07 around 1915 hrs. Order was taken correctly and read back correctly. Food was not prepared correctly.... I got rolls instead of biscuits... not usually a big issue .... but I can not eat yeast rolls due to medical reasons. I also order an 8 piece meal and was given four wings, two breast, and two drumsticks and no thighs ... dont care for wings and don't usually eat them. I would of paid more and reduced my food order to avoid getting wings. Place was clean and lightly decorated.

A couple weeks ago after getting my order to go I open my box to what appeared to be warmed over chicken. You know that look and yes the taste was that warmed over chicken. Very disappointed. So then today I return and order the fish. Ordered and paid for a three piece return to office and I was given a 2 piece. I really seems that this place has taken a turn for the worse. Never seems to be any managment around. Oh well my money spends elsewhere

Ever seen a leaderless crew? These guys are hands down lost 5 people in there door still locked a 11:40 am. Had my rolls getting cold sitting there for 30mins while they made chicken tenders. Can witness the confusion going on from window at drive thru.

It's always a long wait here when we go through Drive thru and if we order extras they always seem to forget to bag it up with our food. It's funny how they do not forget to charge us though. Smh. It's sad cause I really like their Spicy strips but dislike their customer services.

Waited in line for 15-20 minutes. Got my food, went home And realized that they forgot my gravy and bbq sauce. Went back and the manager was rude to my daughter asking for the receipt (which she had), asked where was food etc. . So I walked in and the woman was "kind" enough to point out that our receipt says gravy. (Which we didn't receive either) maybe I am confused but who goes In chicken express to steal white gravy and bbq sauce. She did finally give them to me but seriously, was it that big a deal??? So here I am eating cold food cause you forgot to put my gravy in my bag.

Gizzards and livers were like dry and rubbery. I think they were sitting for a while before we came along. The hot wings were really good. I would buy them again. The wings pulled the 2 stars. They were really 4 star wings. Prices a bit high. Help was nice and friendly.

The place is new, but despite this, the overall service was not the best. When I arrived there were several customers there, what I didn't realize was that they had been there(waiting) for quite some time for their orders. The restaurant was out of a few menu items and I wasn't approached to help me place an order for about 5 min despite several people behind the counter. The restrooms were also out of hand soap and we were told that they needed to get more but would not restock it until tomorrow. Some of the waiting customers inquired about their orders and some even came inside from the drive thru! Some customers requested a refund and thats when I realized why. We ended up waiting over 30 min for our order. I overheard the manager tell one customer that they had filled a very large online order and this is why the long wait. While I can understand this, they could have been more forthcoming and told their arriving customers this so that we can make a decision as to wait or leave. Overall, not the best experience for a fast food restaurant.

The food is very good, but we were obviously there during a labor dispute. It was also obvious they were tremendously understaffed. Most patrons that entered had to wait for someone to come take their order. One employee was complaining about not getting her break, while the manager engaged in a "hollering" match. We truly did not appreciate the "F" bombs being shouted while we were dining. Ironically, Christian music was playing in the dining area while this was going on. We received our food after an inordinate amount of time. A gentleman came in ranting and raving about getting his money back after waiting in the drive through for 35 minutes with no chicken. "People behind us were getting their chicken! I just want my money back!" This tense atmosphere was most unpleasant for dining. I can say with most certainty that we will not be returning to Chicken Express.

For paying nearly 20 bucks for 7 tenders meal, I'd expect each tender to be close in size. 3 of the 7 were on the side of being nuggets. How the hell are you going to serve people like this?

Tried to give our money to Chicken Express today and the employees decided they would rather sit out side and talk. We walked up to the door at. 11:45 (they open at 10:30). We were greeted by a locked door. After standing there for about 5 minutes one of the employees sitting at a table to finally get up and tell us what was going on. Apparently they had not been able to get in the doors this morning and had nothing ready. That's understandable. The problem we had were: 1. They should of been there early enough that even if that was true they would have something ready 2. Even if it's not ready yet wouldn't you let us in and order and make then like you said you were doing. 3. Nobody was working they were sitting at the table and outside leaving. They were very unprofessional and loss about 10 customers in the 5 minutes we were there.

First off no sweet tea by the gallon (main reason we went there). I ordered an 8 piece 2 sides, cool no problem. I got 5 drumsticks, 1 wing and a thigh. I call them and tell them I'm short 1 piece and got mostly drumsticks. They told me you get what's on the line not equal distribution. Oh ok.

We have eaten here at this location of Chicken Express. And we had been very satisfied. But saddy today 3/9/2016.We especially made the trip to go purchase our food there at Chicken Express to be so disappointed and our food was horrible nasty. We just couldn't believe it. So i called Chicken Express to let them know of my very bad experience. I even informed them that this was very shocking to me because we have eaten here so many other times.And i wanted them to make it right and give me good chicken and fries .I paid cash for it or reimbursement of my money .The so called Manger told me that he could give me coupons or for me to go back to day to get the chicken. I responded with are you paying me for gas or what I'm not going back again today possibly Friday. Then said i was then getting nothing.So i asked for someone above him.He i will give you the owners phone number. I couldn't believe my ears. Such a poor customer service regarding the food they are selling to trusting people that thought they were purchasing good and fresh food. I will definitely not go back or recommend this place.I lost my hard earned money. But they lost alot more.

Worst management and workers I've ever seen!!!! Manager is super rude and her attitude reflects the attitude of the workers who then take it out on you. Seems like a power trip and it sucks because the fresh and hotness off the food makes the whole experience suck. I have always loved Chicken Express and I've never come across a Chicken Express that had bad food till now. The 1st time I stopped by I just thought the cook was having a bad day & just over cooked the liver & gizzard plus the chicken my wife ordered was also over cooked. We also waited close to a hour after we ordered and paid for the food before we received what we ordered. The 2nd time we stopped by same thing everything was over cooked and also had to wait close to a hour for the food. This is the worst Chicken Express I've ever been to. Do yourself a favor and go to either KFC, Popeyes or Church's to get chicken

I'm changing my 5 star rating to 1 star now. The staff now is very rude and asked my wife why she needed utensils for her mashed potatoes and macaroni and cheese. They also didn't even give our standard greasy napkins they usually put inside the food containers.

This review is not for the food it is great. The staff has always been nice and polite. the managers this evening was rude and has terrible customer service. I went there this evening ordered my food as usual was told it was a 7 minute wait for chicken strips I said fine because they are so good and had to wait over 15 minutes, and this has never happened before. So finally I flagged the cashier at the window and asked her what was going on and she said they just had an order for 80 chicken strips, and the manager was so rude and he didn’t care that I had been waiting by this time 20 minutes or more in the drive through. If I had his name I would post it here. He was so rude my husband said to leave that he didn’t want the food even though we had already paid for it because the man was so rude and had such a bad attitude.

Absolutely, one of the worst fast food experiences my wife and I have ever experienced. Absolutely terrible customer service, completely disrespected by one of the staffers, the lady taking our order to be specific. We were informed that the wait for Chicken would be 15 minutes it endeded up taking over 35/40 minutes. When the chicken was finally ready the disrespectful staffer took the order of the customers that came about 5/10 minutes after us out to them first and did it out of spite as we beheld the smirk she had on her face as she seen our faces in disbelief. Even the customers that got there order first had to question why/how that was even possible. Long story summed up, complete disaster of a visit, will never visit again and on top of that I guess they were in such a rush they forgot to season the chicken, and never received an apology or anything for the wait.

Chicken Express was by for the worst place I've eaten in the last year. I wouldn't recommend them to a enemy. This chicken place was actually out of chicken. Seriously they didn't have any wings or legs. I purchased a breast and a thigh for my two-piece. When the associate past my food out of the window. I didn't receive a napkin a receipt or a bag. I was baffled I didn't understand why they were still in business. I know you shouldn't assume but I guess they're going out of business soon or something I don't know. But, please don't waste your time nor your money.

Cold food. Unnecessarily long waits. We ordered about $20 worth and all of it was cold. We gave it all back and asked it be remade fresh and hot. We were told the wait would be 20 minutes. We waited over 30 minutes. Most of the replacement food was cold and we did not get everything we paid for. We had to get back in line to get the rest of our food. It was horrible.

Omg we were there for like 40 minutes because the cooks messed up on everyone orders. The cashier came to offer us cookies said that the cook just mess up on 2 people orders so it was going to take longer than usual. When we got our chicken it was almost dried over cooked it seemed like the employees were playing around not even professional about cooking the chicken were even drinking behind the counter in there cups. Will never go back.

I visited the Baytown location today and the food was old and cold. The same thing happened last week. Do not order chicken livers they taste like they are a week old. Talk to the manager and she said you have to request them fresh when you order them. Wow you have to put in a special request to get fresh food. So sad you pay good money for old food. Shame on you Chicken Express.

I ordered in the drive through and waited 45 minutes in the drive through. No one asked if I wanted to wait or apologized for the wait. I paid my money and by this time felt that the food would be out any minute. The young African american girl at the window needs training because she made me feel as if I was doing myself a favor by waiting. I will never go here again!

AVOID. This is a poorly run location. Has been that was since they opened. I've dined in a few times but mostly do the drive thru. The drive-thru speaker/mic doesn't work well. Tonight was no exception for tgis location.. Chx. And sides were not fresh and hot as is usually the case. They were warm at best and been sitting. Ordered unsweetened tea and the kid got it right on 3rd try. He said it was mislabeled. Ordered spicy, got regular and no gravy on top of that. If you are ever in Carthage, TX the location there is well run. I'm done and hope they close.

today was my second time getting food from chicken express. the first time i ordered food my chicken was raw so i called and spoke to a lady who got my information and told me to come back after work, so i did. i spoke to the manager who informed me that i needed to bring the raw chicken and receipt in order to get a new meal but the lady i talked to didn’t tell me either of that, as of my first time there the manager was rude about explaining the policy which i would of understand if the lady on the phone would of told me the procedure of raw food. i went back today to give chicken express a second try i got chicken tenders with two side of ranch. when i go to work to eat, i opened my box and saw that they didn’t give me my 2 ranch’s or gravy that it’s supposed to come with, who likes eating tenders with no sauce? not me. very disappointed in the customer service even though the food is actually good.

Porsche just made my wife come inside and would not give my wife the food we ordered online at the drive through window. My wife was in her pajamas and didn't want to come in dressed that away. She tried to explain this to Porsche, and was still refused to hand the food out the window. Last time we order from here!! And now going over my order they forgot my fries and my wife has to go back. My wife says they were rude and lacking any customer service. What's happened to this place, it certainly has gone down hill in the last year.

Great food, but not worth the hassle of making sure everything in your order is correct. Struggled to get refunded (didn’t get it when I was told I would) when I had a whole item missing from my ticket. Wait times in the drive thru are also not acceptable to me, and I worked fast food in the past so I am usually empathetic and patient.

Say man im have to back up off yall because 1st off the Gm sold me a 2pc meal for 11.69. And didn't even tell me yall had a happy wallet meal for 5 dollars my wallet wasn't happy I gave 5 stars for the service cause the curly head short manager with the glasses was amazing helpful with everything and even check on me to see if everything was good amazing customer service... But yall chicken so small I thought it was pigeons 🤣🤣

I went in and the staff that was handling the food had no gloves on. going back and forth sticking their hands in their pockets rubbing their heads. I seen the manager step out the restroom wiping his hands on his pants touch his face then start fixing orders

Ordered online to make it quicker and I ended up waiting longer (20mins longer) than the people who ordered before me. The front worker is literally so rude. He was frustrated. The lady had to keep apologizing for his rudeness. Some of my food was missing good thing I checked before leaving. But won’t be coming here anytime soon again
