A Hidden Gem for Indian Food Lovers! I recently visited this restaurant and was blown away by the authenticity and flavors of the dishes. The highlight of my meal was the Potlam Biryani—an absolute masterpiece! The biryani was wrapped in a delicate omelet, sealing in all the rich aromas and spices. Each bite was packed with perfectly cooked rice, tender meat, and a burst of traditional spices that reminded me of home. Apart from the biryani, the other dishes were equally delightful. The service was warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. If you’re craving authentic Indian flavors, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
I found my new favorite restaurant! So thankful for Mitua, she was phenomenal- I had my mind set on the lamb, but she made so many good suggestions- we had to try them all! (Left with multiple Togo boxes- so we will be eating for a couple days) Starters: -The Gully Chicken had the perfect amount of flavor and definitely good spice. -The steamed chicken Momos (dumplings) were full of a deliciously mellow herb blend. Entrees: - the Lamb chops were marinated well- cooked tender and came on a sizzling skillet- with creamy mint sauce- subtle- but balanced. - my first time eating Goat- the Mughlai- it was delicious- a cashew curry sauce and was surprised to see a boiled egg- which paired well with the long grain rice. That in itself was cooked to perfection… not too mushy and not too dry. - the garlic nom had the right amount of crunch on perimeter- but still soft on the inside. Deserts: again, Mitua pointed us in the right direction. I asked for her opinion and she asked if she could recommend 2. 🤭 glad she did because they were both wonderful in their own ways. I like how both were decadent, with complex flavor profiles, but not overly sweet. - my favorite was the Rasmalai: it was a a slightly sweet cheese like dish in a cream. - Gulab Jamun- was like 2 cake balls - covered in a yummy sauce, that was made in house. Will definitely be back!
This place is conveniently located right off I-10, so no detours are needed. If you’re looking for a quick stop, it’s a great choice. They offer plenty of vegetarian options, and this was our first visit. We tried the Corn Chatpata and Veg Manchurian. The food was good, though not exceptional—the Manchurian was hot on the outside but cold inside. The ambience and service were both pleasant, and the washrooms were very clean.
The Biryani portions were incredibly generous – we ordered two for two people but happily took one home for later. They perfectly accommodated our request for low spice in the noodles without sacrificing any flavor. To top it off, we received complimentary desserts for Father's Day, which was a lovely surprise! The only minor suggestion would be to enhance the decor.
Excellent experience! Looking forward to coming back. My teen wanted to try Indian food so we stopped after running errands in Beaumont. My kiddo knew she wanted to try the Butter chicken with garlic naan - she loved it! I was unsure , so the waitress graciously asked if she would make some suggestions. She asked if I was looking for a rice, noodle or curry type dish. I selected curry and she recommended Tiki Masala as my kiddos choice was another curry type dish. She then verified the type of protein I wanted with my meal. I also asked for a recommendation for an appetizer. The one we chose was potato based with peas inside and came with a dip that had a satisfying bit of spice. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and flavors are on point. The rice is the fluffiest I have ever been served at any restaurant I have ever been to. My kiddo also tried the Mango Lassi drink and said it was delicious. Overall my teen says this is one of the best meals she has ever eaten. I am looking forward to bringing my husband for dinner one evening soon. The restaurant is also the cleanest restaurant I have been to in the SETX area. The decor was also beautiful and the chair were inviting and cozy.
The monks had to be one of the best Indian restaurant I have eaten at. The customer service, atmosphere, the food 10/10. The flavor in the food is amazing. The owner is great and so respectful. He help me decided what to eat. I always get the same thing but this time I wanted something different and was definitely WORTH IT !
Some of, if not the best Indian food I’ve had the pleasure of eating, service was prompt and courteous, I ordered samosas and butter chicken with naan and to say it was delicious is an understatement. The apricot delight desert is definitely worth trying as well. Not overly sweet but very satisfying. I will be returning often.
Food was PHENOMENAL! Waiter was super helpful, friendly, and quick. Atmosphere was nice and calming. Music soft and not blaring like most big chain restaurants today. Comfy seating too. Definitely coming back!
The staff here are truly amazing, they did guide me through the whole menu and made all exceptions as per my taste. The lamb chops here are the best I’ve ever eaten. Here comes the next best part, the biryani was absolutely mouth watering and flavorful. Totally 10/10 for food and staff. Definitely coming back again.
Went here for the first time, and to say the least the food is AMAZING! I ordered the goat saag, absolutely delicious!! My husband ordered biryani with goat as the protein and amazing. The goat is so tender and soft! We also got the garlic naan, super buttery and perfect amount of garlic! Will definitely be returning again! The restaurant is clean and the atmosphere is great ! 👍
My family loves this place. Garlic naan. Mom gets spicy masala noodles dad gets something different every time and it’s always delicious and the kids get the Manchuria paneer or chicken noodles and we can’t leave without Gulab Jamun for desert. I had Indian food in New Orleans in a little hole in the wall and have been searching for it ever since. I’m so glad southeast Texas has those gem. The flavors are like nothing I have ever had and I love it!
This is my 6th time eating at The Monk’s Bistro and it never fails to amaze me! This time in particular was top tier. The owner, Bunty, greeted us and explained the whole menu, his story about this franchise, and much more. Overall the food, service, and atmosphere was best it’s ever been. I will always come back and will also be visiting the College Station location! Also, Bunty comp’ed our dessert out of his thrill of my family and I continuously supporting his business and kindness/love for his restaurants! Please support them, you will not be dissatisfied!!
ABSOLUTE BEST INDIAN FOOD I’VE EVER HAD! Butter chicken was RIDICULOUS GOOD. Goat biryani was great. Corn chatpata was perfect parts sweet and spicy. All the staples are RIGHT. My kids loved the chicken appetizer. Service was great. Bunty to the time to explain the dishes. Portions were generous. Clean and modern aesthetic interior.
It was such great food. I had the Saag Paneer and the Masala tea! 10 out of 10! I highly recommend this dish and the tea is a must have drink to add to your meal. The waitress Navya, was very nice and made sure I was well served. It was definitely a great ambiance and energy at this restaurant. The food also came quickly so not a long wait. Give this restaurant a try if you're hungry.
Everything about this restaurant was amazing. The gentleman that owns it explained all of the dishes and asked for input on spice level and was just super attentive. The restaurant itself is very nice inside and super clean. The food was seriously amazing and I just can’t say enough good about this place. An amazing taste of India right here in Beaumont. We will definitely be back and will bring everyone we know! We need to keep this gem in Beaumont! Absolutely fantastic food!
We stopped in on a whim while traveling home and the food was AMAZING! We had tikka masala, butter ch sicken, and garlic naan. The service was impeccable, very friendly people. I highly recommend you try this restaurant.
Really authentic indian food. All spices used. They didn't compromise the flavor like many many other indian restaurants. Naan was done right. I took few of my friends with me and we were all satisfied. Great experience..
Had an excellent experience at Monks during their weekend buffet. The spread was impressive with a wide variety of authentic Indian dishes, each full of rich flavor and perfectly cooked. From appetizers to main courses and desserts, everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. The buffet offered a great balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, catering to all tastes. The service was warm and attentive, and the staff made sure the buffet was well maintained throughout. The ambience was clean, comfortable, and ideal for a relaxed weekend meal with family or friends. Overall, Monks’ weekend buffet offers great value for money with quality food and a pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine!
I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of food. I was expecting only Indian dishes, as the name of the restaurant suggests, but they also offer some Chinese options. The street-style noodles were absolutely delicious, and the chicken biryani was very tasty. If you like spicy food, this is the place for you. Mitua, our waitress, was exceptional—very kind and friendly, as was the rest of the staff. I wouldn’t eat anywhere else if I passed by here again.
Really good lunch buffet for the 1 year anniversary of Monks opening their doors. Biryani was especially delicious, but everything was good. Not too spicy but had a little kick. Good crowd. Looking forward to another year of good food!
Monk’s Restaurant truly impressed us with their weekend buffet. The spread had a nice balance of appetizers, main courses, and desserts, and every item we tried tasted great. You can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the service was excellent — very courteous and attentive without being intrusive. The buffet was well organized and constantly replenished, which made the experience even better. A perfect spot for a relaxed and satisfying weekend buffet. Highly recommended!
If you’re looking for a satisfying and stress-free dining experience, Monk’s Restaurant’s weekend buffet is a great choice. The layout is simple and easy to navigate, the food is consistently tasty, and there’s something for everyone, whether you prefer mild flavors or something a little bolder. I especially appreciated how fresh everything felt nothing tasted like it had been sitting out too long. The dining area was clean, bright, and comfortable, making it a nice place to sit back and enjoy a long meal.Overall, Monk’s offers quality, comfort, and great value in one place. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back again five stars well deserved! ⭐️
We had the best experience at Monk’s! Food was delicious, spicy, and beyond flavorful. We had the chili garlic momos. They were so crispy! Perfectly spicy. I had the goat nihari and it was so garlicky and creamy. My husband had the goat Mughlai. It was so flavorful and rich! We recommend both dishes and definitely recommend getting garlic naan to go with!!! The mango lassi was amazing. (I have been wanting to try mango lassi for the longest time and I was so NOT disappointed). Our server took ample time to explain menu items and answer all of our questions. We cannot wait to go back and try more items.
I got the Wok Tossed Hakka, and that was the best dang bowl of noodles I’ve ever had lol. The staff was super friendly and made sure to check on us as each dish came out to insure everything tasted great. They even asked if we would recommend any changes such as spice level etc. Just a great experience overall.
Monks Beaumont is now having a Monday through Sunday (11-3) buffet! There is a large variety of delicious dishes! Fresh naan is prepared upon request. Dessert. Even a refreshing Mango drink is part of the buffet. $15.99n
We had a wonderful experience at Monk’s Restaurant during their Sunday buffet. The food was absolutely delicious with a great variety of dishes, all fresh and well-prepared. Everything was flavorful and nicely presented. The ambience was pleasant and clean, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was refilled on time. It never felt crowded or rushed, even though the place was busy. Overall, a fantastic value for the quality and selection offered. Highly recommend The Weeknd’s buffet at Monk’s — we’ll definitely be back! 😊
Came with a friend to try their food. Never tried this restaurant and ordered the appetizer. Dasha with chicken. Delicious. As an appetizer I could not finish it before getting full. Perfect. I'll save some for later.
I thought I didn’t like Indian food at all! I had NEVER been to a local Indian Food Restaurant in Beaumont, TX until today. I was invited to Monk’s to give it a try and I was completely amazed! I honestly never knew there was anything to eat in that shopping center! It’s in the strip center just to the east of 11th street on the i10 access road (west bound side). Pulling into the parking lot I thought I was in for some suspicious activity… However, when I walked in the door i was greeted with a bright, clean, and inviting environment. The staff immediately greeted me with warmth and enthusiasm! My business partner, Chuck arrived shortly after me and we had an amazing experience! As I said, I did not think I’d like it! So, I told the staff to just show me what would be the best way to introduce me to what they offer. The first things they served us were these chicken legs called “Drums of Heaven” and these little fried rolls called “Magic Maggie Rolls”. The first thing I bit into was the “drums of heaven” and they are aptly named!!! Holy cow, I thought I might have to fight Chuck for them. They’re AWESOME! The “Magic Maggie Rolls” did not disappoint either! The crew brought out these sauces and they each accented the rolls in such a way that it was like it changed the dish with each bite! They had us both completely pigging out just from the appetizers. Then they stepped it up another notch and placed a dish if these stuffed-fried dumplings on the table! They brought out this Butter Masala Chicken with these little flat breads and it was like Chuck and I were eating our last meal! It was so good we just kept stuffing our faces. We thought for sure that we were done, but not so much! Then came this enormous bowl of Vijawada Boneless Chicken Biryani! That bowl alone was enough to feed 3 average people! Let me just say, if you are super hungry for some great Indian food that is far from average expectations. Look no further than The Monk’s Indian Bistro in Beaumont!
The host/ server was super helpful and conversational, which was enjoyable because I dine by myself quite a bit. Heard about this place on TikTok, and I’d never tried Indian food before and this was the best case scenario. Amazing food.
This place is amazing. The hot and sour soup is exquisite and I had the chettinad chicken curry. Yummmmmmmm. We came back today to try the buffet.
Delicious food and attentive service. Very nice atmosphere. Got the momos and butter chicken with garlic naan.

Food was fantastic. Service was great. Free rice pudding for Father's Day, which my wife and I both said they should put on the menu. Seriously, I have had rice pudding shipped to my wife from New York, and we agreed that this was better!
This was my first time eating at The Monks Indian Bistro. The inside was clean and well laid out. We were waited on Immediately. Our first course was the Vegetable Samosa. They were good and comparable to what I tried for samosas previously. They didn’t stand out but I have no complaints. My brother had Butter Chicken and thought that it was the best that he had ever eaten. I tried a couple of bites and I don’t know if it was the best that I have had but it was certainly in the running. My brother doesn’t eat Indian food that often but by the time we left, he was ready to come back. I had Okra Masala as an entree and thought that it was excellent. I have never eaten that before and had nothing to compare it to, but I will have it again. We split a Vegetable Biryani. It was good. I had leftovers and brought some home for my wife to try. She is not a big Indian cuisine fan but she wanted me to go back the next day for a to go order. All of our food was toned down in spice level. I usually go with medium or hot but knew that my wife would not eat leftovers it it was too spicy so I can’t speak of their really spicy foods. Overall it was a good experience and I will return, hopefully soon. My only complaint if anything was that waiting time on our entrees. It took a little while but not a long time, maybe 20-25 minutes. Is that normal for Indian cuisine? I don’t know as most of the time I get it as takeout or at a prepared event or at someone’s home but I wasn’t upset. I will gladly wait a few minutes for good food and this was a good experience.
My Daughter and her husband ate here a few nights ago… Came home and told me that we NEEDED to go back (as they know I love Indian food). We went back the very next day and it was, in a word, incredible! BEST Butter Chicken I have ever eaten. Portions were good, the man running the place stood and talked to us for a long time… the man has a passion to see his restaurant do well and produce good food! The waitstaff was good, too, and the ambience of the restaurant was welcoming to say the least! Overall, you couldn’t ask for a better experience. Granted, it was a little bit of a challenge to get off the interstate (although it’s in sight) and weave your way back into this area where the restraurant is, but if people understood how good it was, they wouldn’t mind the drive.
The food -all of it, is a cut above the rest. The quality of every dish is still after a year of going weekly is superior and maintained. Very rare is it to stay this consistent with the utmost quality. This is why i usually visit monks weekly, never tiring of the variety. I love the fact its such a well kept secret allowing myself to get in and out with the quality, however when monks name and quality becomes known, i certainly hope they open a second location so i can still meet my objective. All said there is nothing negative i can say and they have earned a 6 star rating and deserve all the rewards in customers, finance and success. Few people spend the time for high mentions, but its so rare, i feel the need to express my gratitude for monks. Last but not least they take the time to speak. Geninuly want to know your impression of their creation that the may strive for the best and learn your needs and wants, then deliver. Monks- keep up the exceptional service. Thank you for making indian bistro dinning in beaumont, texas a pleasurable experience. Merrill
My wife and I tried the buffet today and we were both very pleased with it. I can say there is a nice variety of food choices and everything was bursting with flavor. I am usually not a huge fan of Indian food but my wife is so I have to give in from time to time, but this time I actually enjoyed it a lot as well. Surprisingly enough the meal I enjoyed the most was a very well seasoned and cooked cauliflower, and i don't typically life cauliflower either, so go figure. The employees were all very nice and over all it was a great meal. We will definitely be returning.

The waitress Navya, was very nice and made sure I was well served. It was definitely a great ambiance and energy at this restaurant. The food also came quickly so not a long wait. Finally got around to trying Monk's, it was ok. The chairs were dirty with food from previous guests. The decor is really nice, I love the modern look. The Monk's special fries were ok, it was sweet & sour sauce with garlic and onion. The chicken tandoori was medium spice, a little much for me, but I ate it, it was seasoned very well. My husband got the goat vindaloo, it was too citrus, not a normal vindaloo sauce. The highlight was the garlic naan for us. We may give them a second chance, we shall see. It wasn't bad, but wasn't the best Indian food we've ever had.
Menu had a good variety of choices. The Hot & Sour Soup was really good and was the best I've had in the area. The menu describes it as "Indo-Chinese", but it was full of flavor and fresh-tasting ingredients. The garlic-naan bread was decent. The Goat Curry had a good flavor but I wish it had more kick to it (spice). Workers were nice and the prices were very reasonable!
Food portions are perfect. Service was great and our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and attentive. Atmosphere was clean and comfortable except the room temp was a bit warm for my liking. I would like to have heard Indian music rather than the pop songs on the speakers. The only suggestions I might make about the food is to perhaps have a spicier offering on some items for those of us that like that sort of thing. We had the vindaloo and it was spicy but we could do with hotter. Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back soon!!

I was hoping to give this place 5 stars, but my experience was not as great as I thought. My family went to the buffet and we were given a table, no one asked us for drinks. We then went in line and most of the food was gone. I managed to get the last piece of chicken and a scoop of rice. My son got what little was left of the butter chicken. The trays were shallow which means they did not hold a lot of food and it was all sauce and little meat. We walked back to our table and they gave it to someone else. So we got the table next to it. We finally got their attention for drinks. We waited quite a while for them to bring out more food. It was getting annoying. They are not prepared for the amount of people who come in and not attentive like other restaurants we've been to. You're better off getting food from the menu. For the price and the fact kids eat free it made the experience better. They need more help and better speed when it comes to bringing out food.
