A guarantee. This restaurant has always been a must-try for gourmets seeking authentic Bergamo cuisine. The food is plentiful, delicious, and tastes like home, the service is excellent, the prices incredibly low for the quality and quantity, and above all, the atmosphere is warm, family-friendly, and welcoming. The owner is very helpful and eager to accommodate any request; she even prepared delicious vegetarian options for us! Try it and believe it! (I don't have any photos because the food is so good and I can never wait.)
A very rustic restaurant, it makes you feel right at home with an almost homey atmosphere. Delicious dishes and generous portions; for the first time in my memory, I found more venison stew than polenta at a restaurant. Homemade desserts. All at a price that's almost impossible these days: two first courses, two second courses, a dessert, two coffees, two waters + service charge, €54 for two. Highly recommended!

From Spain with love, I tell you that this restaurant is authentic Italian, with exquisite family-style food, good prices, and it still maintains that genuine Italian family atmosphere. On Tuesdays, when most other restaurants are closed, Rest. Narciso is always open.
The portions are generous and delicious. Sure, your clothes will smell of fried onions for at least two washes when you get home, but it's worth it!
A typical Bergamo trattoria. We ate a lot and enjoyed the delicious local dishes. We were particularly impressed by the fried onions and the excellent cured meats. The homemade pasta was certainly equally delicious. And the lady serving us was truly kind, courteous, and friendly. We'll be back, we had a great time. Thank you!
I've been coming to Roncola my whole life, and we rarely treat ourselves to a stroll around town, either because it wasn't exactly designed as a tourist destination—it doesn't even have sidewalks—or because until recently it was truly a "scruffy" place... basically, if we went out for lunch or dinner, we went elsewhere. But over the years, we've grown increasingly curious about finding a place to stay here, close to home, if we wanted to escape without traveling miles and miles. And I must say, we finally found it! From the outside, I never trusted it too much, but the delicious aromas always lingered, so we decided to try and satisfy a craving of mine: polenta taragna! Well, listen up: I've never had taragna so good!!! We treated ourselves to a cured meat appetizer that blew our minds. They bring you fried onions that I swear I've never tasted anything comparable, they were so delicious! Taragna accompanied by a fabulous braised meat, and to finish, a tiramisu that was the least exciting of all, but after a dinner like this, I wouldn't complain even under torture!!! So, what can I say? A won-over customer... we finally have our own little spot in Roncola.
I went there on the recommendation of a colleague and can only sing its praises. Homemade cooking, a constant smile, generous portions of typical mountain cuisine. Two pieces of advice: 1) Make a reservation. 2) Don't have breakfast; asking for more isn't a crime. Pos accepted without a problem.
Rustic restaurant in Roncola! Set menu for €30, from appetizer to coffee, including drinks! Very homely and authentic quality of the dishes! Special mention for the Fried Onions! They are a CULINARY MASTERPIECE! Family atmosphere, and everyone is very courteous and friendly in the service! Nothing negative to report.
Went there 20 minutes before closing, that was no problem. We were the only customers. The owner, probably, did not speak english and we don't speak Italian. They don't have any menu and the lady was trying to tell us what she could cook. We managed to get red wine, risotto with mushroom for starters and butter fried rabbit for mains. Risotto we understood and Carne for meat, thats what we got. If you expect fine dining with posh table settings and expensive wine, go somewhere else. If you want to experience the locals, have taste of home food and atmosphere with personal service, this is the place.
The restaurant offers a complete menu of good quality, consisting of appetizers, trio of first courses, trio of second courses with polenta, dessert, water, wine and coffee for €30. An absolutely fair price. The only criticism concerns the service which, in my opinion, could be improved. However, the lady present at the Decana bar of the place, with her attentive gaze, has made up for our needs admirably, and I thank her from the bottom of my heart.
The food was plentiful and good quality at a very reasonable price. Personally, I had a great time and would definitely return if I were in the area again. P.S. This review refers to a business lunch, so it's more in keeping with the world of fixed-menu trattorias.
Very friendly stuff and surprising big menu. Pasta, meat with vegetables, cheese, dessert wine and coffee for very good price. We would come again.
After a bike ride up Valcava, we passed by Roncola and stopped at this restaurant, and we felt right at home. The atmosphere was family-friendly, the service simple, and the food was generous and delicious. I'd only eaten rabbit with polenta like this years ago at my aunt's house! Everything was delicious, and it truly felt like family! I complimented the lady, the girls who served us, and the kitchen! Excellent Bergamo cuisine! We'll definitely be back, not just by bike. It's absolutely worth it...and we're from Melzo...so it's worth the effort! Congratulations!
Very homely atmosphere, courteous lady.
Before describing the obscene experience at this so-called restaurant, I recommend that the relevant authorities inspect the kitchen's hygiene conditions and ensure that food preparation and storage comply with all applicable regulations. I should point out that there is no menu or price list, and the host never told us what the first and second courses were; they essentially offered a fixed menu without informing the diners. They brought us a bottle of water and a bottle of wine, but the wine was uncorked and had the cork resting on top, modified to fit the neck of the bottle (I've attached a photo). They only brought us water glasses, not wine glasses. Ridiculous appetizers: disgusting fried onions, perhaps the frying oil was from a few days ago, four slices of low-quality cold cuts, two slices of unremarkable cheese, and two zucchini stuffed with rancid ragù. I personally went inside twice because the table was missing bread and a saucepan (basically, I did part of the serving). To finish, four slices of melon with two pieces of pâté, which were sent back. The trio of first courses included boiled rice with rosemary and cheese, which was sent back; Casoncelli alla bergamasca, which were floating in butter, far from the original, and spaghetti—or so it seemed—with the same ragù used to fill the zucchini. For the second courses, two very salty salamis and a rabbit that was barely adequate. Coffee that tasted like baby barley. All for the excessive sum of €72, which, considering what we ate and the quality of the food, I'd say is truly shameful. I consider the value of this meal inappropriate. Conclusion: I will definitely never return, and I will advise all my friends and acquaintances against visiting Narciso. Have you considered closing down and retiring? Never again.
