We had six tables on a Sunday night. Food was good: ginger scallion lobsters, prawns with walnut, steamed Dungeness crab on rice, steamed oysters, mushrooms leafy greens, duck, cage free steamed chicken, pepper steak and fish maw soup. Love them all. Price was excellent for quality and quantity!
Service was extremely fast and polite. The food was very good and fresh. The dim sum selection was what I expect, and if you're looking for salt and pepper fish (or other meat) check the larger menu for "spicy salt" fish. The atmosphere is my favorite part. The interior reminds me of Ocean Palace back in its prime, like 2010-ish, before the remodel. Very nostalgic and comfortable to relax and eat lots of dim sum. I highly recommend this location. We'll be back!
This old-fashioned store is low maintenance but still acceptable. Their dim sum is incredibly tasty and affordable. The Peking duck was particularly delicious, with a crispy skin and juicy meat, whole duck is just about $34. For $88, including 7 dim sum and the whole duck, without tips, it’s a great price, even though they add $1 to each dish.
Crown Seafood is one of my go-to dim sum places. Best to arrive around 11am otherwise there's a wait. There's currently construction at the entrance, so a little hard to find it at first. After writing down your order, the waiter takes the paper. Food gradually got brought to the table pretty fast. I usually enjoy most of the food, and always order these: - ha cao (steamed shrimp dumpling) - shrimp xiu mai - banh cuon tom (rice noodle w/ shrimp) - fried taro puff - fried shrimp & pork puff - Chinese broccoli w/ oyster sauce - fried shrimp ball
Hands down a very good Dim Sim restaurant. Houston’s food scene earned my respect and this Dim Sum restaurant is as authentic as it gets. I ordered my favorite - shrimp rice rolls and it was great. The shu mai and ha caw was good too. The ha caw was a bit dried up, but I ordered DD to deliver to me 30mins away. I like the food and service here. The gave me everything I requested for and I would definitely recommend. Very good restaurant. First time eating Dim Sum in Houston, TX and it did NOT disappoint. Coming from Cali I have a high standard for Asian food and I would definitely come back here.
Came on a weekend evening for an early dinner. Everything was really tasty including the salt and pepper fish to jelly soup, lobster, and noddle dishes. The dining space is very big with large circle tables for big groups. Definitely recommend this place as the have a variety of Chinese cuisines and seafood to choose from. We were also given a complimentary dessert jello for the table at the end.
Another Dim Sum adventure in Houston, Tx @ 10796 Bellaire Blvd. Birthday girl picked the new spot try out. Will say it’s been hard to find a great local Dim Sum here in town, but think we found a great spot that we can be glad to return to and recommend. It’s if priced right for what you’d normally spend. On our visit it was about $27.00 per person. Tip is included on large parties. Service is non-stop. You’ll have so many different servers come and check on you. Just make sure to speak up if you need anything or want more. Even if there’s a language barrier, their number system via pictures is easy enough for you to fill out the paper on what you’d like to try. There’s so many great foods here, it’s hard to pick one. Check out all the pictures if you need any recommendations. We will be back! Until next time.
My first time eating here was New Years Day 2024. Despite the large amount of people crowded in this big restaurant, servers smiled, worked fast, and delivered every dish hot to our table. We tried an arrangement of dim sum, and I also got to take pictures of the food items coming out from the kitchen so you can see the quality of the food. Overall, very satisfied with the food. Quality of the food was good but not as amazing as some of the other dim sum places I have tried in the US. Although the service was 5 star for a busy day. Definitely going back!
All the different dishes were such a treat. The seafood was very fresh. The fact that the lobster was live until they cooked. It really made a difference in the quality of the dishes. It wasn’t frozen it was fresh, which was awesome. I was very glad we had an opportunity to come to this establishment. The flat noodles were yummy, the crab fried rice was on point, and the fried lobster was tasty and not over cooked at all. We will definitely come back. I really enjoyed the walnut shrimp dish too, the shrimp were huge.
Crown Seafood has a lot of southern Chinese dishes and seafood. They also offer dim sum and traditional Chinese dishes like beef broccoli, etc. We enjoy their seafood. We order a few days in advance and inform them of how we’d like for them to prepare. Not at all an upscale experience but perfectly fine for casual family meals at a good value!
1. The goby fish - meaty, 2. Snoopy leaf - is my favorite 3. They gave free jelly after eating (is vv good idk what it is) Other than that, the food is okay, but it's a little lacking in flavor. However, it's better than those restaurants that put lots of MSG. Bringing parents here would be great!
Feel like I’m back in Hong Kong! The dim sum here was pretty good. We got the egg custard, fried egg custard, beef rice roll, mixed vegetables, and shrimp dumplings. The Po Le tea was quite on point and everything arrived quick. Maybe too quick. I really liked the effective way they have the order form at the door so you can get what you want quick, just like back in Hong Kong. Our waitress was nice and spoke good Cantonese.
New Chinese seafood restaurant. They also have dim sum. A good alternative to Ocean Palace if tou cannot get seats there. Services were excellent. The waitresses were friendly, and willing to give (honest) inputs on which dishes to try. We came late in the evening (around 7pm), and there were limited dim sum choices left. But everything was good enough.
The food here is great. I wish they had more vegetarian options, but the few options they have, like the egg rolls, noodles and like 1 or 2 dumpling items, are delicious. The options I have picked from the menus were delicious, like the salted toasted tofu with their sweet soy sauce. You have to request the sweet soy sauce. Service is great, they are pretty quick about brining your meal out. Make sure to come early or you will be waiting outside for a good minute. If your a vegetarian, I highly recommend a different place.
Like many other dim sum restaurants in Houston, this place is very busy on weekends, so a reservation is a good idea if you have a large group. While the quality of the food was okay, the restaurant was too crowded and noisy. All the shrimp dumpling wrappers were too sticky and broke easily upon touch. The service was minimal, and because we had a large table, we were automatically charged an 18% gratuity.
I recently tried several dim sum items and wasn’t too impressed. The Steamed Shrimp & Pork Dumpling (#2) was decent, and the Steamed Egg York Cream Bun (#17) had a nice creamy filling. But the Soup Dumplings (#15) were a complete letdown—there was no soup inside, and they were nothing like traditional soup dumplings. The Steamed Rice Noodle with BBQ Pork (#26) had pork that tasted old and off, and the Steamed Rice Noodle with Fried Dough (#23) was served cold with soggy fried dough inside. The Pan Fried Turnip Cake (#49) was also cold, and when I informed the manager, they just microwaved it and brought the same plate back. The Fried Bean Curd Roll with Shrimp (#39) was fine but nothing special. To top it off, they charged for tea for everyone, even those who only had water. Overall, the quality was inconsistent, and I won’t be rushing back.
I am so disappointed by this place. Half of our dishes were a little warm, apparently the food was pre-made which is okay but at least heat up before serving. Most upset was we got MANDATORY charged 18% tips on the bill, (we only had three people) I could have paid 40% tips if I didn’t see the 18% tips AUTOMATED charged on the bill. We have been this place many times but after this time I won’t go back again. FOOD WAS SO SO, SERVICE WAS SO SO, I felt got robbed.
